Olympics results of biathlon races. Main news

Russian men's four won for the first time olympic gold in biathlon. V last time the USSR national team also rose to the highest step of the podium - in 1988 Dmitry Vasiliev, Sergey Chepikov, Alexander Popov and Valery Medvedtsev brought their team a victory. Since then, the CIS / Russia men's team has won three biathlon relay silver, and at the previous Olympics she took bronze - but all these years they only dreamed of victories. And so , and managed to reach the gold medals at the home Olympics.

- excellent level shooter. He stood out for his rate of fire and accuracy even in his junior age, which earned him the affectionate nickname Alyoshenka-Shooter from the fans. And although it is believed that the individual race is ideal for shooters, Volkov did not immediately develop a relationship with this discipline. For the first time, he loudly announced himself at the 2009 Russian Championship, where he became the second in the sprint. This allowed him to get into the national team in the first adult season. However, Volkov's path to the Vancouver Olympics ended in the same place where it began. In the cold Swedish Östersund, the debutant finished 74th and was eliminated from the national team before the end of the season. Unlike Volkov, his principal rival in juniors is Tarjei Bo- not only got into the national team, but also became the Olympic champion in the relay. For a young Russian, this was a serious blow to pride.

Alexey is physically not as gifted as the blond Norwegian, but he is not deprived of ingenuity, the ability to analyze and work on his mistakes. Alexei soon noticed that he was running away too late and was gaining shape only by February-March. Hence, he has an abundance of awards at the European Championships and the Russian Championships, but at the same time, December for Volkov has become a stumbling block from year to year. Spending as a spare home championship world championship in Khanty-Mansiysk-2011 and the championship in Ruhpolding a year later, he finally made his debut at the main world forum in Nove Mesto. The 15th result is not bad for a debut. It was achieved in the individual race, which, in the opinion of coaches and specialists, suits Volkov to a greater extent.

They focused on her in preparation for the Olympics, and therefore allowed Alexei to gradually gain shape in December, and at the January German stages he was marked by two podiums with clean shooting. When we talked with Volkov, after his first podium in his career at the highest level, passing by Be (he then lost the fight to Alexei for the second place) patted him on the shoulder and said: "You are a great shooter." Such an epithet could be awarded to another Khanty-Mansi biathlete - Evgenia Redkina, who, thanks to precision, in 1992 became the Olympic champion in the individual race. However, Volkov failed the individual race, taking 64th place with four penalties - but at the starting stage of the relay he used only two additional cartridges and eventually won Olympic gold.

World Junior Champion Evgeny Ustyugov I had to make my debut in the national team at the most inopportune moment. On the eve of the 2009 World Cup in Korea, the largest Russian history doping scandal in which our team lost immediately three fighters the main composition. Was under attack men's relay, in which only two members of the famous golden four remained Vladimir Alikin (Dmitry Yaroshenko was disqualified and Nikolay Kruglov went home). Young Ustyugov had to plug the hole in the first stage. The first pancake turned out to be not just a lump, but a real mess - 15th place and the loss of almost all the team's medal chances. Such a debut world championship would have broken anyone, but not Eugene.

Team leader begins to experience health problems during stressful Olympic season recent years Maxim Chudova... In such a situation, it was extremely difficult for the men's team to count on the first gold since 1994. Evgeny, of course, progressed, but few expected his growth to be so rapid. It all started with an enchanting victory in Oberhof, and ended with another Victoria and two podiums. Ustyugov went to the Olympics already in the rank of one of the leaders of the World Cup and medal hope, but how many of these early and daring ones broke off their fragile teeth at the main starts. The course of the Olympics for the Russians instilled less and less optimism every day. Until the last four starts in the piggy bank of the Russian national team there were no medals, and the overall performance of the Russians at the Games was not very pleasing. In such a difficult moment, Ustyugov for the first time passed four mass start lines without fail, and at the finish loop he managed to escape from the terrible Martin Fourcade. Russian biathlon found a new hero and saved his honor, and Ustyugov entered the prestigious Zero club, which includes world and Olympic champions who won individual races with perfect shooting.

The day before new Olympics Ustyugov remains one of our hopes for salvation, although he did not carry out the Olympic cycle very brightly. Experts believe that the Sochi track is perfect for him, on which he finished second last year. During the season, Evgeny missed individual starts, prepared himself purposefully for Sochi, and shortly before the Games he again learned the taste of the podium.

Integral features of a biathlete Dmitry Malyshko, who last season secured the rank of one of the leaders of the world biathlon - high speed, fighting character and unpredictability. After an absolute victory at the World Cup in Oberhof, he earned the respect of two pillars of men's biathlon - Martin Fourcade and Emil Hegle Svendsen, who were frankly afraid of the growing strength of the next Russian biathlete of the new wave. At the 2013 World Championships, Dmitry was left without awards, but he demonstrated his potential. And as the example shows Anton Shipulina, with experience, the result will definitely come.

Many do not know that three years ago, Malyshko's entire career and even health were under threat. During preparatory training for the season, he felt unwell and was hospitalized. The only way out is heart surgery and further hope for the best. Two weeks after her, Dmitry had already returned to training, a month later he made the first start, and then came to the Russian championship in Uvat. Before the first race, I accidentally met a St. Petersburg coach Dmitry Kucherov who said: “I have a great guy - Dima Malyshko... Remember this name, tomorrow he will be in the prizes. " I was surprised by the fact that he said this in a sober mind and sound memory, but I did not argue for my own happiness. A day later, Malyshko finished second with a minimal lag behind Ivan Tcherezov. It was clear that the guy was ready to sacrifice a lot for the sake of great sport.

Later from the stories Anatoly Alyabyeva it became known that he was returning for the second time. Earlier, due to a lack of funding in St. Petersburg, Dmitry almost went to work at a bank as a manager. Alyabyev helped to knock out of the budget money that is ridiculous at the present time, which was barely enough for inventory. Malyshko preferred sports to banking and did not lose. This season seemed to have decided to test it for strength again. December was marked by average results and the loss of the finish of the relay to the Swede Karl-Johan Bergman, for which the athlete received a considerable portion of criticism. In January, he showed several times better speed at a distance, but misses in shooting did not allow him to reach the coveted podium. Fate seemed to postpone a new date with the podium until Sochi.

And at the final stage he fled for Russia, who on the last lap won the fight with the German Simon Schempp and was the first to cross the finish line. , so we will not repeat ourselves - we will just admire his excellent performance once again.

Currently the best among Russian biathletes, a key element of the team, capable of competing for awards in almost any discipline. In addition to prizes at the last two world championships, he has not only experience of performing at Olympic Games, but also a bronze medal for the third place in the relay race. From the point of view of personal success, Vancouver Shipulin did not succeed, but now there are all the prerequisites for Anton to fight for personal medals in Sochi.

Evgeny Ustyugov
The only Olympic champion in the Russian men's biathlon team is quite capable of again leading partners along - to new heights. Uncommon speed, high shooting accuracy, and most importantly - complete self-confidence, which is extremely important at the Olympics, will help Yevgeny achieve success in Sochi. Of course, Ustyugov is one of the representatives of the relay quartet, but he will also claim victory in individual races.

Dmitry Malyshko
Dmitry burst into the Russian biathlon team a couple of years ago like a whirlwind and immediately began to amaze everyone with outstanding results. Last season became the absolute winner stage of the World Cup in Oberhof, and in just two years he climbed the podium five times in individual races. Dmitry's recipe for success is based on a very high speed - at a distance, Malyshko is not inferior to anyone. And if in Sochi he manages to work well at the shooting range, then he won't have to wait long for high places.

OI experience: no.

Alexey Volkov
Alexey began to be regularly involved in the main team of the country immediately after the Olympic Games in Vancouver. Most often, he had to support the relay teams, and Volkov did not achieve personal success at the world level for the time being. The most accurate and quick-firing Russian biathlete could not keep the advantage he earned at the shooting range on the track. However, when Volkov added a little speed, he immediately won two personal medals. It happened just before the Olympics, so there is hope that Alexei will compete for awards in Sochi.
Age: 25
Titles: four-time champion Europe, winner of eight awards at the World Cups.

OI experience: no.
Chance of Winning: Individual - 5 percent.

Evgeny Garanichev
Evgeny is one of the fastest Russian biathletes with a perfected ski equipment... When he is in good shape, catching up with him is very difficult. Unstable shooting is a risk factor. However, if Garanichev manages to cope with the nerves at the shooting range, then the result can be truly amazing. A prime example of this is the recent pursuit in Ruhpolding, in which Eugene made an impressive breakthrough to the bronze medal.
Age: 25
Titles: three-time winner of the Universiade in Erzurum, 11-time winner of the World Cups.
Results at the World Cup - 2013/14: 29th place overall. Pursuit bronze in Ruhpolding. Victory in the relay four.
OI experience: no.
Chance of Winning: Sprint - 5 percent.

Alexander Loginov
The youngest, but very promising biathlete in the Russian national team. One of the few of our athletes who this season has not yet managed to climb the podium in personal races, but he and his comrades celebrated victory in the relay. Possesses good speed and amazing psychological stability. Let's hope that these qualities will allow yesterday's junior not to get lost in his first Olympic Games.
Age: 21

Irina Starykh
Irina Starykh was undoubtedly the discovery of the current season for Russian fans. Her debut at the World Cup took place almost a year ago in Holmenkollen, but Irina reached the highest level in the pre-Olympic season. The athlete twice climbed the podium, which she could only dream of a couple of years ago, and, in addition, helped the national team win the relay in Ruhpolding. A key member of the national team at the Sochi Olympics.
Age: 26
Titles: European champion, winner of the Universiade, winner of three awards at the World Cup stages.
Strongest disciplines: sprint, pursuit.
Results at the World Cup - 2013/14: 6th place overall. Silver medal in the pursuit in Annecy, bronze in the sprint in Hochfilzen. Victory in the relay team in Ruhpolding.
OI experience: no.
Chance of Winning: Pursuit - 10 percent.

Olga Vilukhina
Olga Vilukhina also goes to her first Olympics. The slogan "The main thing is not victory, but participation" is clearly not about Olga, who, of course, will fight for victory in every race. Undoubtedly, Vilukhina's main medal hopes are associated with the relay race, however, in personal races, Olga, with a successful coincidence, may well compete for a medal, and two fifths during the season are direct evidence of this.
Age: 25
Titles: bronze medalist of the pursuit race at the World Championships in Ruhpolding. Absolute European champion among juniors in Ufa.
Strongest disciplines: sprint, pursuit.
Results at the World Cup - 2013/14: 12th place overall. Best personal result - fifth place at the stages in Annecy and Oberhof. Relay winner.
OI experience: no.
Chance of Winning: Pursuit - 5 percent.

Olga Zaitseva
The favorite of all Russian fans, the permanent leader of the Russian national team in recent years, is going to his fourth Olympics. Olga's debut at competitions of such a high level took place back in 2002 in Salt Lake City. A lot of time has passed since then, Zaitseva managed to become a two-time Olympic champion and a three-time world champion, and I want to believe that the list of titles of the famous Russian woman will still be replenished at the home Olympics.
Age: 35
Titles: two-time Olympic champion in the relay, winner of the silver medal at the Games in Vancouver for the second place in the mass start. Three-time world champion.
Strongest disciplines: individual race, pursuit race.
Results at the World Cup - 2013/14: 27th place overall. Silver in the sprint at the first stage of the World Cup, gold in the relay in Ruhpolding.
Olympics Experience: Salt Lake City Individual - 37th place. Four races at the Games in Turin. The best personal result - 9th place, won in the relay team. Five races in Vancouver 2010. Gold medal in the relay four, silver medal in the mass start. She was seventh in sprint and pursuit.
Chance of Winning: Individual - 10 percent.

Ekaterina Shumilova
Over the past three years, Catherine has worked tirelessly to go to the Olympic Games, and achieved her goal. The results of the biathlete systematically went up, and one can hope that at the Olympics, Ekaterina will be able to compete in high level... Nevertheless, in individual races, Shumilova will not be easy, despite the fact that she gained good shape for the competition in Sochi and recently showed the best result in her career - sixth place.
Age: 27
Titles: winner of three awards at the European Championships, two-time European champion among juniors.
Results at the World Cup - 2013/14: 30th place overall. Best personal result - 6th place in the pursuit race at the World Cup in Hochfilzen.
OI experience: no.

Yana Romanova
The only athlete, besides Olga Zaitseva, who has experience in performing at the Olympic Games. In Vancouver, Yana got a chance to prove herself in the individual race, but became only 56th. The question of Romanova's trip to the Olympics was not easy to decide, but with her performances at the pre-Olympic stages of the World Cup and her excellent form, the athlete convinced the coaching staff of her own need for Sochi.
Age: 30
Titles: winner of three awards at the World Cups, two-time medalist of the European Championship, bronze medalist of the Universiade in Turin.
Strongest disciplines: individual race, mass start.
Results at the World Cup - 2013/14: 28th place overall. Best personal result - fifth in the sprint at the pre-Olympic World Cup.
Experience of performance at the Olympic Games: individual race in Vancouver-2010, result - 56th place.
Chances of winning: close to zero.

Ekaterina Glazyrina
An important component of the relay four of the Russian national team, she won gold with her teammates in Ruhpolding and, most likely, will try to repeat the same at the home Olympics in Sochi. Unfortunately, Glazyrina is not very successful in personal races, her the best result currently occupies a modest 25th place in the pursuit of the French stage.
Age: 26
Titles: Winner of six awards at the World Cups and two awards at the European Championships.
Strongest disciplines: pursuit.
Results at the World Cup - 2013/14: 68th overall. Best personal result - 25th place in the pursuit race at the World Cup in Annecy.
OI experience: no.
Chances of winning: close to zero.

In all individual disciplines, women have at least 8-10 athletes who are able to prevent our girls from medals, men have 4-6. Hope is only for a chance coincidence, but a dozen more athletes from other countries are hoping for a chance, so do not worry, mom.
To this we will also add a negative attitude towards our athletes from the world biathlon community due to the fact that out of a hundred athletes on doping, three were caught, of which two were ours, for example Yuryev, for whose inclusion in the national team so many copies were broken, again.
More or less real hopes for both men and women for the relay. Losing this hope would be simply criminal.

General forecast of TS: Chance to win a medal in individual disciplines - Shipulin -20%, Ustyugov - 15%, Malyshko - 10%, Volkov, Garanichev, Loginov 5% each.
The composition for the sprint has just been determined: Ustyugov, Malyshko, Shipulin and Garanichev. I would also like to add the results of the individual to the above estimate of TS. races at the 5th stage of the World Cup. (The 6th stage is not indicative - many did not compete): Ustyugov - 3rd, Malyshko - 6th, Shipulin - 20th, Garanichev - 11th. Well what can I say? There is still a chance for a medal, but ...

The composition is determined today women's team for Sprint - the general forecast of TS: Zaitsev -10%, Vilukhin - 5%, Shumilov and Romanov - 0% to this forecast, unfortunately, there is nothing to add.

Crazy Bear, I'm one of those gifted ones. Who said there was a final selection in Oberhov? Had a dream? I would love to hear your comments on the 2 Ruppolding Pursuit Races (KM and IBU) Thanks in advance

Mad bear, and I would love to look at the next OI to Yuryeva and Sleptsova. Of course, if they show not the current level, but the Russian top-4 and top-15 KM. Biathletes with surnames do not leave you indifferent. Places of the national team from the fifth and below, rather, "for growth" and at the discretion of the head coach of the women's team.

At the discretion, because in the lower places the tool - "rules and criteria" - is too inaccurate. This managerial invention will never replace a talented, professional coach. Young athletes are very unstable and formal indicators are clearly insufficient. (The problem with coaches cannot be avoided.)

Age is not a disadvantage or dignity of an athlete, but a circumstance. Most of the list of young girls you have provided will remain promising. And not because of the "overlap of oxygen", but simply because the world is arranged: there are many promising - only a few justify the hopes.

Already Pushkin came to life:

=
Everything is clear here if you read the selection conditions for the Olympiad.
There are not 3 coaching decisions, but all 7. However, there was a limitation: the choice was only from those who ran in January on the KM or KIBu.

Boris,
Probably, for that, they sent Glazyrina to Moscow for examination to the luminary Arkhipov so that the injured athlete did not get to OI. Do you have any reason not to trust an outstanding doctor? To tell the truth, I am worried about Glazyrina and me. Albeit minimal time, but dropped out of purposeful preparation in full. But we don’t have any information at all to talk about it.

ECHO (N) -And now it doesn't matter: -R, who exactly will be responsible?
Yes, ask there in the ё-office, is it possible to include an injured athlete to participate in the Olympic Games?
The Olympic Charter says that all athletes must be healthy ... etc.

Already Pushkin came to life,
according to nominal results, yes, in the first two * y * Y * p * b * e * w * o * th the result was better, but 54th place is a failure and, as Hochfilzen and Oberhof showed, not accidental, from which no one insured.
And I don't have an endless amount of time for idle bickering. I am interested in constructive, reasoned exchanges of views.
If you're wondering when and how you can get in shape, read at your leisure about the various cycles in the annual training structure.

Tren. they gave the decision to Zaitseva and Shumilova. Well, yes, after all, they can do 3 tren. solutions. Why was the selection needed, and indeed the starts in general? And how "sideways", well, it is not clear at all. (About Glazyrina)

Boris,
Glazyrina in the team is not "not clear which side it turned out to be," but a coaching decision, to which they had the right and should be responsible for it.

Yuriev is clearly visible from your entry - better. It is not clear what is so bad about the recession in mid-December. Why can't an upturn come after the recession? Which she (KYU) "in any case" was not allowed to show. And they suppressed this rise as much as possible psychologically.
Do rivals have that there is no recession?

Already Pushkin came to life,
Yes please:
St. George's: 4; 7; 54
Romanov: 33; 28; 13.
Even for three races, as you wanted, you can determine that one has an increasing result, the other has a sharp decline.

For some reason, the SBR can be slandered. I do not refuse my words, I just wrote down the course of the November races, and you snatched the name of Romanova from there and began to compare. I repeat, I am not against it. And biathlon is not skiing, how many times to repeat?

Already Pushkin came to life,
You do not respect yourself so much that you give up your own words: "... why do you stubbornly think that St. George's cannot come to her November speed, which was better than Shumilova, Glazyrina, Romanova"

Boris,
stop libel! Do you have doping test results A and B? Did you know that libel is a criminal offense?

In November, Yuryeva ran in the KM, and not the second echelon, and it was not bad

ECHO (N) -And now it's all the same: -R, well, Romanova, if there was no "fuel", went to the peak of the form. What will she do in Sochi? Or for pichler, the most important thing is that his wards get to the Olympic Games, and there at least the grass does not grow.
The conversation is now about Glazyrina, who is generally not clear how she turned out to be in the national team, and even at the base.

Already Pushkin came to life,
maybe, of course, but also for rivals. And these rivals are not Katrin Hitzer, and not the second composition of KIBU, all the more so. The first one was called to Antholz, if they noticed.

Why, after a recession, cannot a rise come? In general, I did not say anything against Romanova, and I have not. I have indicated the facts. And why did you answer about Romanova, did you get hooked on some of the poems?
In my opinion, Glazyrina's results are much clearer than 20 points in 11 races
What can't you compare after 3 races (to Yuriev and Romanova)

Already Pushkin came to life,
"If Yuryeva had more starts and face-to-face rivalry with them, then I would understand and support you."
-----

Even being at the peak of form in November, Yurva in the sprint on the track was only 8 seconds faster than Romanova.
Only then Romanova gradually progressed, and Yurieva followed a sharp decline.

And as for the number of races, Romanova still has only 9 personal races, and after Oberhof (excluding MC, where Yuryeva did not get), after 5 races, Romanova had 105 points in total, and Yuryeva after 6 - 83. Quite visual results of the face-to-face confrontation.

Irina, please tell us about your new dream, how Yuriev was given a ride due to the fact that she refused to take vitamins. It seems to me that she will normally perform at the IBU and with Katya Yurlova they can overtake many.

Mad bear, it's useless to argue with you, and the numbers on the scoreboard, Glazyrina 68th in total with 20 points (7 races), St. George's 40th from 83rd (6 races). Even Nechkasova scored 10 points in two races, and you're still doing bullshit, manipulating facts.

Mad bear

damn it, why is your logic so bad! Well why do you take best races Glazyrina's and Yuryeva's worst! Take the number of points in total from one and the other, maybe then it will become clear? And this despite the fact that St. George's performed less. Just look at the statistics of places. Although ... if a person rests on his horns, he cannot be moved from his place ...

Already Pushkin came to life, Brad, and poetically illiterate, you write.

Of course, Yuryeva could (apparently could and would not) improve the speed somewhat. But ... This should have been done when there was a selection. In Oberhof! And it was then that she was hopelessly drained. Feet in pursuit for 1.5 - 2 minutes from Shumilova and Romanova. After that, the train left.

You write crazy bear, the speed changes among biathletes during the season, why do you stubbornly think that St. If Yuryeva had more starts and face-to-face rivalry with them, then I would understand and support you. And now you can't see their advantages point-blank, no matter what you write.

Thoughts on the Russian women's biathlon

Oh how hard I fell
And I even broke the bed!
The shoulder is in place, but it hurts
And how do I go to the OI?

Now in a corset and a splint,
But even in the chair I will
And still OI is mine!

Having corrected all the principles of selection,
We will be in Sochi very soon.
And additional, and we have skis
And they've been picking up the lubricant for a year,
And they lost their conscience somewhere
Don't worry, gentlemen,
We will "fix" everything
As always!

And we don't need a Ray of Light,
We are all very "friends" here,
We don't need to shoot "zero",
We will unhook those!

I am the biathlon queen
I don't like this maiden
Shoots better
Suddenly overtake?
Don't mess with her anymore.

We have thought of everything in detail,
And how to substitute naturally
Criteria, selection - bullshit!
Do not be offended at me.

Did you write a letter there?
We all gave a shit on him!
We will create chaos
And who can forbid us?

And then the Minister of Sports came,
I looked everything
I studied everything
And he changed part of the line-up!

Irina, Why should they be head and shoulders above Yuryeva? Isn't it enough that they're just stronger?

Again. Glazyrina's feet on Izhevka were noticeably better than both Romanova and Shumilova. And Romanova and Shumilova to the trash, tore Yuryeva where she should have won against them - in Oberhof.

In the sprint, she kicked them for 30-40 seconds, in the pursuit, 1.5-2 minutes. Voila!

Maybe she didn't have to come with everyone since the new year, but how did she come to an agreement with Korolkevich a week earlier? Acclimatize, take a closer look, practice.

After that, you can at least get caught on the podiums at the KIBU stages (especially if there is practically no one with CM), nothing can be done about it. The Olympic train said, "Tu-tuu!"

Last time. For the gifted. On the main thing for yourself qualifying start, to her rivals in the national team (Romanova and Shumilova), at a distance even shorter than the individual, St. Naturally, there can be no question of getting into any other stages after this, and even more so the Olympiad. Dear a spoon for dinner.

and you name at least one person from those who are now in the team (with the possible exception of the Old Ones) and those who pretend to be included in it - which of them is head and shoulders above Yuryeva? Zaitsev? We have all seen in what form it is. Shumilova? God forbid if he pops into the top ten at least once. Or maybe Glazyrina? Of the young, only Kaisheva can show something. All the others can barely crawl even to the IBU Cup. Alas, we do not yet have a worthy change in the women's biathlon and is not expected. And about the syrup is not necessary: we all know how such things are done. I would not be surprised if Yuryeva was given a ride just because she, taught by bitter experience, refused to follow the lead of those who make these vitamins consume. Or do you naively believe that those three voluntarily took doping? If she did, of course, there was so much murky and incomprehensible ... In any other country, their athletes would be protected, but not here. There were so many violations with these tests!

when you calm down, what the fuck are you RUSSIAN fans, for that I will not for that, they are all our athletes, do not cheer for Pikhler, Prokhorov, E-headquarters, and the athletes are to blame for the fact that they got on oi, bullshit

steff85, Romanova drinks Pikhlerovsky syrup, it is without additives (no cases recorded). Either they run from him quickly (Forsberg, Zidek, Ekholm), or they run away - Vilukhina. Although maybe she's just tired of cooking borscht. Maybe it (syrup) is too bitter, but ours are not used to it. The Swedes complained, but the results were showing. Our mentality may be different, I qualified for the national team already well, I entered the top ten - excellent. Well, nothing, let's hope for the best.

This means that the respected fans are ready to accuse Romanov and other objectionable collectors of the use of illegal drugs in advance, without reason, so to speak falsely. And Yuryeva was not just forgiven for the same thing, but also elevated to the rank of a martyr and a martyr. What filth, disgusting from such ardent "fans" of biathlon

Igor, it is Romanova who ran into fifth place once in a five-year period, and whether she is under syrup or not, we will find out at the Olympic Games.

Elena, Katyusha can only please with victories at the IBU Cup. At the stages of the World Cup, Kaisa, Tura, Dasha, Gabi can please (their fans) ... best years(under the syrup) the speed did not differ, now it can run into the top five once a year under the coincidence of circumstances. She ran in this year. You can take her to the national team, she will delight like the rest of the 20-60th places.

Alexander, I completely agree and subscribe to every word!

Mad bear, why so! No one should be kept for old merits! But if Katya is stronger than the young, then why should she be removed for the sake of these young? Everything should be fair and there is no need to draw anyone by the ears to the national team, you know what this leads to, Sleptsov is a vivid example of this. Who is stronger is the one in the national team! And it shouldn't be otherwise! I believe that Katyusha the strong man, will withstand all difficult trials with honor and will delight us, the fans, with their victories!

Elena Dar, Nadenka, Oksana, Sasha, What about the next Olympiad for Yuryeva and Sleptsova?

By the next Olympiad, Kaisheva, Ilchenko, Mironova will be 24 years old (or almost will be). But there are also older ones: Nechkasova, Nikulin, Suraeva. But Virolainen should, in my opinion, be progressing both with feet and in shooting. And this is not all, but the first who came to mind. But, after all, it is a sin to leave Vilukhina from the Old Man before the next Olympiad.

And you expect that Yuryev (and Sleptsov) will be kept in the national team until the next Olympics for their old achievements. But then this whole galaxy of young and talented biathletes will have to run for other teams. And, of course, win three tram stops at Sleptsova and Yurieva.

In general, this will not happen. Both St. George's and Sleptsova at the end of this season will say goodbye to biathlon. If not, honor and praise them. Let them run in the Cup of Russia with Denisova. But you don't have to drag them to the national team. There *** a change of generations. Life cannot be turned back. site

Lord, where are you?

Alexander, I completely agree. Katya "... she is already a winner." I even agree that she should play for another country, just not to leave.

Sasha, maybe it's for the best. Good luck to Katya and future victories!

Sasha, if she starts to prepare right now, then by the next Olympiad there is a high probability that she will be in her previous form. An interesting and strong line-up can be formed there if Sleptsova also recovers.

Oksana, I agree we will have to put the fat point at the next Olympics, it's a pity, I think Katya was ready to do everything this year.

Sasha, I don’t know. Maybe you need to register at Sportbox.

Alexander, everything is correct. I subscribe to every word.

Sasha, I agree. may well run off another four-year. if they give it, of course ...

Oksana, I hope this does not happen, not all the words have been said yet ...

Katya was going to complete her sports career after the games in Sochi

Alexander, I hope that Katya will please us with performances for Russia, not for the CIS.

Is it the trainers who did not find a way to settle the contradictions with Yuryeva three months before the Olympic Games? What crime did she commit? If so, tell me, and we will draw a conclusion. If not, then your behavior and statements deserve the attention of the journalists of "Man and Law" because you have made thousands of fans deaf, blind, unable to read, count, analyze, etc. in the last two months. By the way, it is strange that not a single journalist was found who would conduct an independent journalistic investigation about the situation in the women's team and the selection process for the Olympic Games. In front of the eyes of the whole of Russia, the world champion was spreading rot, after all, a woman, who, by her work, by the results, deserved the right, according to the selection criteria, to be in the national team at the Olympic Games. It's a shame that the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation took the position of temporary workers and the show of journalists commentators (there the house burned down, he danced, he sang, but there was silence about the problems with the selection). Or maybe it was necessary to descend from the heights in a timely manner, meet with Katya and extinguish the conflict? Or weak? But Yuryeva did not give up, fought until last day with more than one dozen officials for honesty and justice. In fact: having the right to be selected on equal terms, with candidates for the Russian women's national team according to the selection criteria approved by the RBU at the Olympic Games, she was deprived of these rights by a handful of coaches and in this situation, fully fulfilling her obligations to millions of fans, showed her moral and volitional qualities and results allowing to be in the Olympic team, did not receive recognition and support from the leaders of sports in Russia. These are the people who are hired by us (taxpayers-fans) to honestly represent our interests in great sport... In this situation, this quality has been lost among sports officials. But just three months ago in Moscow, in the building of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, a FIFA-Interpol seminar "For honesty in sport" was held. The Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation also spoke there and stood up for honesty in football, but is there really a separate honesty in sports in football, basketball, biathlon, etc. At the same seminar, the Chairman of the physical culture and sports of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, which emphasized the relevance of the topic of combating negative phenomena in Russian sports in the light of a large number of international competitions... And since three months were not enough to hold a similar seminar "For honesty in sport" with representatives of the RBU, although information (an open letter from fans, comments on articles on the Internet, interviews of world champions and Olympic Games) came to the Ministry of Sports, I would like to hope that Hot on the heels of OI, the above-mentioned Ministry will pay attention to this issue. To poison the best shooter of the women's national team, which has the best performance in the IG, on the eve of the Olympic Games, which deserved to participate in the Olympic Games in an unequal struggle and not include her in the main squad at the Olympic Games, is, to put it mildly, immoral ... Time will judge ... There were two chances for prizes, but with such a composition, they remain only with Vilukhina. As for Katya, she is already a winner. I believe that playing for a team of any other country, she will achieve success more than once. Good luck with your Russian Katyusha!

Ida, I just tried to ask Mutko a question from the links in the net about the selections for the women's team, I didn't succeed, do you know how to do this?

ECHO (N) -And now it doesn't matter: -R, can we still start remembering the victories of Yuryeva, Zaitseva, Sleptsova, Bulygina? The conversation is about this season... Even the SS was stronger than Glazyrina, until she went offline.

SOCHI, 22 Feb - R-Sport, Ivan Tugarin. The biathletes of the Russian national team, who managed to win only one bronze in individual competitions, won the relay race at the Sochi Olympics on Saturday, taking the lead only after the final, eighth shooting.

Alexey Volkov, Evgeny Ustyugov, Dmitry Malyshko and Anton Shipulin played for the Russian team. The winners' time is 1 hour 12 minutes 15.9 seconds. The Russians used eight additional rounds. Previously, the Russian men's team did not win the relay at the Olympic Games.

The second place went to the German national team (Eric Lesser, Daniel Boehm, Arnd Peiffer, Simon Schempp), using two extra rounds and 3.5 seconds back. Austrians Christoph Zumann, Daniel Mesotic, Simon Eder and Dominik Landertinger finished third (+29.8 seconds; seven extra rounds).

Last chance for gold

Agree, this is so our way: first drive yourself into a hopeless situation, and then get out of it on your teeth and with a victorious roar? The Russian men's national team approached the final race of the Olympics in Sochi, having behind them only one bronze medal of Evgeny Garanichev in the individual race. This situation obliged Russian biathletes to work at their maximum, which the team demonstrated. By the way, Garanichev himself, after an unsuccessful one for himself (three additional cartridges on a jay and a penalty loop in addition) and for the team (final fifth place) of the mixed relay, was not included in the men's relay.

The first stage in Russian team went to Alexei Volkov. Already the first few hundred meters of the distance have shown that functionally Russian biathletes are excellently prepared. Volkov walked at a decent speed, but his shooting was not very good. On both lines, the Russian was forced to use an additional cartridge, and as a result lagged behind the leaders by 16 seconds.

"I would not say that I feel great joy, but I coped with my stage. Sixteen seconds of lag is two additional rounds. There is nothing wrong with that. Yes, I could have gone better, but as it is, it is," Volkov says "R-Sport" at the end of its stage.

Volkov passed the baton to the champion of the games in Vancouver, Evgeny Ustyugov, whose shooting also did not work out very well. Additional cartridge on the "prone", two on the "rack". In addition, in the second stage, Johannes Boe fled as part of the Norwegians who were leading at that time. As a result, the 19 seconds lag after the fourth line turned into 24.4 for the Russian national team when passing the baton.

Win in Russian

At that moment, few at the Laura stadium believed that the Russian biathletes would be able to compete for gold: the Norwegians looked too confident, for whom the “great and terrible” Ole Einar Björndalen went to the third stage. The king of biathlon worked his stage perfectly, but Dmitry Malyshko made a mistake on the “stand” and lost time while using an additional cartridge. Nevertheless, the St. Petersburg resident showed incredible speed: by the time the relay was passed, he managed to win back over 8 seconds.

"I would like to note the work of the skis, the service did everything possible and impossible. I played so many seconds for the Germans! The skis worked very well. Zhenya (Ustyugov) was able to beat off so much with his feet, so I want to say a huge thank you to the service," Malyshko said after the race.

The three leaders before the last stage looked like this: Norway, Germany, Russia. The Norwegians and Germans were ahead by 15 seconds, but it is real to win back such a gap in the relay.

At the seventh shooting, Shipulin smeared twice, and then I thought: that's it, there won't be any more bronze for us. However, the Russian national team is the Russian national team, to get out of the most desperate situations. Moreover, neither Simon Schempp nor Emil Hegle Svendsen could do without additional cartridges. The Russian quickly closed the remaining targets and went on the track just 5.1 seconds after the Norwegian and 3.4 seconds from the German biathlete.

The final firing line became the defining one in the race. Speaking in biathlon language, Svendsen could not stand the psychological stress, "shot himself." Three misses, one more when using additional cartridges, and the Norwegian went to the penalty loop, and Shipulin and Schempp ran to sort out each other in the fight for gold. Svendsen's failure also allowed the Austrian national team to rise to third place, which the Austrians will not miss.

Disassembly at the finish did not work out

The tension at the stadium increased with every second: spectators and journalists watched with bated breath on the screens as the biathletes run to the finish line. Each turn is like torment: if only not to fall, which were already abound at the Games. But shooting skiers appeared at the stadium ... As such, there was no showdown at the finish line between Shipulin and Shempp. The Russian has an order of magnitude more strength. However, before Anton's skis crossed the finish line, the first Russian biathlon gold was hard to believe.

Thank you team!

Long after the awards ceremony, which took place immediately after the race, the stands did not let go of the Russian four, chanting "thank you". Indeed, Russian biathletes this evening managed to give the fans a real holiday, which they had been waiting for for almost two weeks. In addition, the gold of Russian biathletes became 11th in the overall piggy bank, and Russia came out on top in the team classification.

"All emotions remained on the track at the stage of Anton (Shipulin). When we stood on the podium, when our native walls, everyone screams, it’s beyond words, nobody can understand it, except Olympic champions... I still don't understand what happened. The fans did not let us go for a very long time. Only when I arrive at the hotel and remain alone with my thoughts, only then can I understand, "Malyshko told reporters.

Shipulin himself is confident that the Russian four have achieved success through solidarity.

“Over the past three days, we have rallied very strongly with the team, managed to mobilize our forces, direct all our concentration to this particular race. great victory... Many thanks to the team for what they did for me, "Shipulin said.

In September 2011, the IOC granted the status of a special authorized news agency of the Olympiad (national host agency and national photo pool) to the RIA Novosti group, which includes the agency sports news"R-Sport"; in March 2013, RIA Novosti was assigned the status of the national host agency for the Sochi Paralympic Games.

Biathlon

The history of the emergence of biathlon is rooted in the life of primitive people who lived in the northern regions. Proof of this is the rock paintings depicting little men standing like skis with weapons in their hands. Subsequently, the combination of gun shooting and skiing came to be seen as a sport. And in its further development, it received the name biathlon.

In 1958, biathletes held the first world championship in Austria, it was for them a start on big arena... And two years later, in 1960, he was included in the VIII Winter Olympic Games.

On the territory of Russia, biathlon began to develop at the beginning of the 20th century. Its wide distribution began with the ranks of the Red Army in the 20-30s of the last century. The soldiers, dressed in accordance with all the rules of army equipment, covered a distance of 50 km and overcame various obstacles on their way.

In 1964, in Innsbruck, at the IX Winter Olympic Games, for the first time a Soviet athlete, Vladimir Melanin won a gold medal in this sport, in the 20 km race. This was a huge impetus for further development biathlon in Russia. Vladimir Melanin had good preparation, before participating in the Olympics, he became the world champion in this sport three times.

In 1992, the third, XVI Winter Olympic Games were held in Albertville (France). Here, for the first time in the history of biathlon sport, was included women's biathlon... To participate in the Olympics, Russia introduced the athlete Anfisa Reztsova, she was a three-time world champion in cross-country skiing and two-time Biathlon World Cup winner. Reztsova, became the first Olympic champion at a distance of 7.5 km. Before today at the Olympic Games, the biathlon team of Russia, the USSR and the CIS won 18 times, of which 8 times in the relay.

Types of sports disciplines biathlon

V winter Olympics 2014 included five types of biathlon competitions for women and five for men, these are the mass start and relay, mixed relay, individual, pursuit and sprint.

The individual race is a classic biathlon discipline and belongs to the most difficult category. Due to the fact that the distance of the shooting ranges for men is 20 km, for women it is 15 km. Competitors start separately, with an interval of 30 seconds to 1 minute. The participant must overcome 4 firing lines of 5 targets each, firing shots alternately from a prone and standing position. The first and third shots are fired from a prone position, the second and fourth from a standing position. The participant of the competition has the right to choose a target at his own discretion. In case of a miss, the biathlete is added 1 penalty minute.

Sprint is a kind of biathlon race on short distances... Athletes cover a distance of 10 km. for men and 7.5 km. among women. The task of biathletes is to go through 3 laps of different lengths. After the athlete passes the first round, shooting is performed from a prone position, after the second - standing. In the event of a miss, the athlete is added one lap of 150 m.

The pursuit race is, in some part, a young discipline that is undoubtedly associated with the sprint. Biathletes start with the lag with which they came to the finish line in the sprint competition. The standard distance for men is 12.5 km, for women - 10 km. Athletes go through five laps. They are entitled to 4 shots, two from a prone position and two from a standing position. In case of a miss, the competitor receives a penalty loop of 150 km.

The mass start race entered the biathlon program in 1997. All participants in this competition start at the same time. The distance of the race for men is 15 km and 12.5 km for women. The race consists of five laps, the biathlete is given the opportunity to shoot four, two from a prone position and two from a standing position. The Mass Start Race features 30 of the most the best athletes who received the highest points in the overall standings. Competitors take places in accordance with the order of arrival at the shooting range. In the event of a miss, the athlete is added one penalty loop with a length of 150m. The winner is the first participant to cross the finish line, taking into account the penalties.

In the relay, the national team of each of the participating countries will exhibit 4 representatives. Passing his segment of the site, the athlete passes the baton to his partner. Each participant of the competition passes two shooting stages, the distance for men is 7.5 km for and 6 km for women. The first shooting is from a prone position, the second from a standing position. The competition begins with a mass start. According to the rules of the competition, the participant is given the opportunity to shoot with 8 rounds, i.e. Unlike individual races the athlete has three spare cartridges, which, in the event of a miss, he has the right to use. If, after using three spare cartridges, a biathlete still has unaffected targets, the same number of penalties is added to him.

Mixed relay is team competition in the race. Each team has 4 representatives from one country. The team consists of 2 females and 2 males. In the first and second stages, 6 km each. women pass, in the third and fourth, men pass 7.5 km each. The competition takes place in pairs: Woman - Woman, Man - Man. Each participant of the competition goes through two shooting stages: the first one is lying down, the second one is standing. As in the case of the simple relay, athletes are given three spare cartridges, which they can use in case of misses. If, after using spare cartridges, the competitors have uncovered targets, they will be charged with penalty circles according to their number.
