- What attracts women to this sport?
- I have been shooting since I was 13. For 27 years already ... - having quickly counted in her mind, says Lyuba. - This is love, and passion, and a profession. And the desire to hit the target. When I started to "shoot" boys and girls, I won my first tournament, I liked it so much ...
- But most of the hearts around for some reason are given to football ...
“But not with the people who are next to me,” Zhenya objected. - I see the scales on which football and everything else rests. I do not envy, but this attention is disproportionate to the displayed result. We only have 10 sets of medals in bullet shooting at the Olympics, and 5 more in stand shooting. And we are represented at the Olympiads in all disciplines. And in football, there are only two sets, and our modern footballers I can't get through the selection ... And all the same ... I remember that as a very young shooter in Vladikavkaz, I, the world champion, find myself in second place after the football player who became the champion of Russia.

- Shooting in Russia is unlikely to become a mass sport. How do you seek motivation?
- Need to work! I would not like to act now as a sandpiper who praises his swamp, but in our "swamp" everything is fine, everyone croaks in unison. Those who want to work work. Let's say you want to achieve something - yes, you need to look for support "from above". But above all, count on yourself. We have everything you need to calmly go about your business. Bullets, rifles, suits, boots, gloves ... And shooting teaches discipline, this is important. Weapon handling is a huge responsibility. And such Olympic species there are few sports where "physics" is combined with technology.
- And if you fantasize: how would you like to see your community of professional shooters?
- What to dream - you need to do. A simple situation - there is a shooting range in Domodedovo. The room is small, there are a lot of people who want to shoot. And when my child is standing here and waiting for his turn to shoot, I don't feel well. We dream, of course, that the shooting range will become more spacious. After all, there is interest in shooting!
At the meeting of the 2013 Universiade winners with the President in Novogorsk, Nazar Luginets, my pupil, voiced this problem: “I wish we had a bigger shooting range”.
- It is unlikely that the head of the country has time to solve problems of this magnitude ...
- Yes, we understand that the President should not and, with all his will, will not be able to deal with such issues. But it was a cry from the heart. Knocking on closed doors is no longer strong. And we have it that way: everything that is voiced at a similar level immediately "goes to work." Well, more global dreams ... It would be great if Russia would eventually turn into the same small power as, for example, Germany. There is shooting clubs- they are 200 years old!
