Kurashov is the national hockey team of switzerland who is the father. Expectation - Pedan and Emelin, reality - Kurashov: on strengthening Ak Bars

This week the hockey players of the Russian youth team are holding the traditional Super Series with the teams of the junior leagues that form the Canadian Hockey League. The matches, which take place in the small town of Moose Joe, will be one of the decisive stages of preparation for the World Youth Championship in Buffalo. The championship itself, as always, will take place on New Year's holidays. Valery Bragin's wards in recent years have invariably become prize-winners of this tournament, but they have not reached gold medals since 2011. Our team lost the first match of the new series with a crushing score of 0: 7 to the Western Hockey League (WHL) team, but a day later it took revenge from the opponent (4: 3). Last night, the Russians met with the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) national team.

The series will last until November 16, Valery Bragin's team will have three more matches: one against the OHL national team and two against the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). One of the key hockey players who will try to help the national team come to victory will be the defender of the Vladivostok Admiral Daniil Kurashov. He is one of the few in the Russian youth team, who is the main player in the KHL team. On the eve of his departure to Canada, the 19-year-old hockey player gave an exclusive interview to Izvestia, in which he spoke about the preparations for the world championship, shared his opinion on the reasons for the improvement of the Admiral's results and announced plans for the third time with the Far Eastern club in the KHL playoffs.

- Last year, an injury left you without a world championship. Do you want to take revenge?

Of course, then it was very upsetting to pass by the world championship due to injury. My shoulder flew out, and it immediately became clear that I would not have time to recover for the tournament. Although the chances of getting into the final application were very good. Now I am going to the youth team - to catch up and, under the guidance of the coaching staff, gain experience in games with partners in the youth team and with rivals of the level of the Canadian national team.

- There is no temptation to take care of yourself after such injuries?

- Psychologically, such traumas, of course, have a great impact. Especially when you drop out so ridiculously at your peak. And that is exactly what happened to me a year ago. By December, I had just gotten in excellent shape and was ready to show myself at the World Championships. Therefore, after returning to the ice, it sits in my head at a subconscious level: you need to avoid a hard joint, you cannot repeat this damage. But when you go out on the ice and play a few matches, you forget about it. And all injuries remain in the past.

- You are one of the few in the current youth team who regularly plays in the KHL. Feel like the leader of the national team?

No. Our team has a fairly even composition - everyone can decide an episode, fight the enemy at a difficult moment. Of course, when you have experience at the KHL level, you try to give tips to your partners, help them in episodes, which so far have been few in their career. I try to talk with all the guys so that we are a single team and can jointly solve the problems that the coaches set for us.

- “Admiral” dramatically improved its results after the change of Alexander Andrievsky to Fredrik Stillman. What has changed in the team's work after the arrival of a new coach ?

The game system and training have not changed much. Rather emotionally, we feel differently - there was a shake-up after the change of the head coach. With the arrival of Fredrik Stillman, there was a slight correction in our tactics, a certain effect of novelty appeared, and the guys began to feel differently on this freshness of perception. Hence, completely different results.

Alexander Andrievsky in the previous two seasons took Admiral to the playoffs. What happened to him now? Burnout?

- He could hardly have burned out emotionally. The same coach Zinetula Bilyaletdinov has been working at Ak Bars for many years, and the results do not get any worse. It's hard to say what happened to us. In past seasons under Andrievsky we played really well, reached the playoffs, last spring we played on equal terms with Avangard (2: 4 in the series). At the same time, I do not think that we played much worse in the current regular season. But - they lost points due to poor implementation of chances and random mistakes in defense. There were a lot of hits to the post, when a few centimeters left us without a goal. Or we missed victories in the last seconds, as with Spartak (5: 6 B). In that game, they generally played great and did not expect such an ending. These are the matches we have constantly happened. Thank God, now it has stopped, we have eliminated the shortcomings and went up the table. Now you can again fight for a place in the playoffs.

- “Admiral” plays on a short Canadian court. Can it help you in your matches against the Canadians and Americans at the World Youth Championship?

I think yes. “Admiral” has been playing on the Canadian court for the second season already - we know how the puck will bounce, when it is necessary to make a dash, what level of struggle with such dimensions. This should help not to waste time on adaptation. For me personally, it's good that there are such sites in Vladivostok.

- At first, was it hard to get used to these sizes?

Yes. Still, the site is smaller, all the players are nearby. It's hard to roll out, to take a pause - everything must be done quickly. This, in principle, happens at all sites, but in the case of the Canadian one, a special speed of movement and decision-making is needed.

From Vladivostok, the Khabarovsk “Amur”, which has been playing on a similar site since this season, has taken an example. Are you in favor of the entire KHL following this example?

- I think that's how the game itself becomes more interesting. A small playground means more moments. It's better than pausing and rolling before passing or shooting on goal. And here - passed, threw, scored. Just like in the NHL. I think due to this we can reach their level. The game will only be more spectacular if more such sites are introduced into the KHL.

What kind of nugget did Bilyaletdinov dug up in the Far East?

The signing by Ak Bars of the young and so far unremarkable defender Daniil Kurashov against the background of the loss of Vasily Tokranov and rumors about the transition of the venerable defencists Pedan and Emelin looks rather dubious, so the righteous anger of the fans of the team a la "why do we need such an increase?" can. The sports editorial staff of Realnoe Vremya decided to dig a little deeper and tried to figure out what Kurashov is, what Yakubov and Bilyaletdinov liked so much, and what, presumably, his fate in Kazan is. All the details are in the material of Realnoe Vremya.

New Lyamkin or a future replenishment for Sochi?

“We need to raise talented youth in order to keep the winning bar,” reads the headline of one of the news on the official website of “Ak Bars”. This is a direct quote from the speech of the club president Nail Maganov at a conference dedicated to the education of young hockey players. And already the next news comes the notice of the signing of the 20-year-old pupil of the Mytishchi hockey.

It is clear that the same Damir Musin, who was sent to HC Sochi together with Dmitry Arkhipov for the rights to Pavel Padakin, has not yet pulled the level of the champion team, so the transfer looks quite reasonable. But in the academy named after Yuri Moiseev and in "Irbis", meanwhile, there are a lot of guys who are also not averse to trying themselves in the main team. And instead of them, young guys from other cities enter the team, who seem to have not proven themselves in any way.

However, before proceeding directly to criticism, you need to understand that Bilyaletdinov's flair for the talent and potential of hockey players is much sharper than ours and he is much better at looking for nuggets. Secondly, it is worth rewinding time a year ago, when it became finally clear that we would no longer see Metallurg Novokuznetsk in the KHL, and seven hockey players suddenly followed to Kazan, whose average age was just 20 years. About these hockey players, with the exception of Ivan Yemets and Timur Fatkullin, no one really heard outside of the native team and the city. And conversations about why "Ak Bars" need these "nouns" and useless mercenaries, went on a spree all over Kazan with great force. However, look at what we've gotten out over the course of the season. Neither Yemets nor Fatkullin played. But Nikita Yazkov, and then Nikita Lyamkin during the championship season, opened up so that even in the strongest team in the league they did not just not get lost, but were among the best. As Bilyaletdinov admitted, both liked him exactly for what he respects and chooses hockey players for his teams - efficiency and endurance at the preseason training camp.

So before grabbing your head, you should at least wait for the preseason and the beginning of the next season. Bilyaletdinov has taught everyone for a long time that he can turn a "young and promising" into a "necessary team". However, this outcome is not guaranteed either. For example, Ziyat Paygin was better able to play under conditions of “free hockey” in “Sochi” than in his native Kazan under Bill’s “schemes”. What awaits the new leopard in Kazan - departure to Sochi or transformation into a new Lyamkin and Manukhov - the season will show.

Didn't reach the MFM, but sniffed gunpowder in the Gagarin Cup

Daniil Kurashov began his career at the Atlanta school in Mytishchi and even played there until 2014. In the last draft in the history of the KHL in 2015, Admiral chose him, and the young defender went to the Far East, fighting his way through the Youth League. In 40 matches for Sakhalin Sharks of the 2015/16 season, he scored 5 goals and was called up to the first team - Admiral Vladivostok.

The two seasons that Kurashov spent in the KHL can hardly be called super bright. At the adult level, the hockey player started with an extremely small ice hockey player. For example, in his debut match against SKA, he received only 27 seconds of playing time. He earned his first point in the game against Cupid, giving an assist. The second season came out a little more interesting, when he consistently received 10-11 minutes of playing time. In the fall, he threw his first and only goal into the Vityaz goal with a throw from the blue line. And in 2016, the 18-year-old Kurashov was one of the candidates for the Bragin Russian national team for the World Youth Championship in Finland, but he received a shoulder injury at the wrong time and missed the tournament.

As you can see, the track record is rather meager. However, already at the age of 20, the guy has experience of battles in the playoffs, so his knees in confrontation with the KHL men, in theory, should not shake. It remains to mold him into a militant and reliable defencist.

A station wagon for the fourth link?

What do we know about Kurashov's gaming capabilities? He has a left grip, which does not give him additional advantages; people like him are a dime a dozen in the team. Albert Yarullin, for example, is valuable for his right grip.

Where can you use it Daniel? Obviously, this is not a defender for the first two lines and is far from a replacement for the left Vasily Tokranov and Atte Okhtamaa (here, most likely, a foreign defender will be found). It is quite possible that Kurashov, Mikhail Sidorov and Roman Abrosimov will compete for a place in the third or fourth link. And given that these links are more often released to contain attacks, and Daniel is difficult to call a tough defender, he will still have to fight and work hard to get the right to this place. First of all, over "physics" and speed. The hockey player weighs 82 kilograms - not enough for a thunderstorm of high-speed attackers. The meat is still overgrown and overgrown.

My style? I try to play accurately, primarily from behind, but I can also support the attack if necessary. He even scored one goal, to Vityaz. I love the style of Jonathan Bloom. He is moderately tough, versatile, includes his head, - the defender told “Soviet Sport” last year.

It sounds promising - attacking and reliable defenders are necessary for the team. Especially against the background of the loss of Tokranov and rumors about the signing of the venerable Pedan and Emelin.

Daniil Kurashov: Bobkov told how Russia won in Buffalo

On the night from Monday to Tuesday in the homeland of hockey, the Super Series of the youth teams of Russia and Canada starts.

The opponents will play six matches. Valery Bragin's team will play with teams representing three junior leagues - Western, Ontario and Quebec. There are not many KHL representatives in our team. One of them is Admiral's defender Daniil Kurashov. Moreover, his role in the team from Vladivostok is not "served to eat", behind him 22 matches, in which he scored 2 (1 + 1) points. In an exclusive interview with "Soviet Sport" Kurashov told about how he got into hockey, idols, "Admiral" and not only.

I grew up with Mytishchi, the last year I played for Spartak, Admiral picked me up in the draft, ”Kurashov begins. - And so I got to Vladivostok. Played a season in the MHL for Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Then someone from the base of the "Admiral" was injured, I had a chance, I was hooked on him.

- It turns out that you are the first pupil of Mytishch who managed to get into the youth team ...
- It turns out so. I got into hockey by accident. They just returned with their parents from vacation, called and invited to enroll in a hockey school. There was a set of mine, 1998. It has just opened in Mytishchi. My family is athletic: my mother is a volleyball player, she played for the youth national team of Russia, my father played basketball, but did not reach heights. And hockey was a novelty. We thought and decided: why not?

- Do you feel like a fish in water on the Canadian site?
- I'm used to the Canadian site in Vladivostok. I think that hockey on narrow boxes is more interesting, more shots, power struggle. The audience likes it.

- Your style is ...
- I try to play accurately, first of all from behind, but I can also support the attack if necessary. He even scored one goal, to Vityaz.

- Diverse defenders play in "Admiral" - Canadian Bloom, Latvian Bartulis, our Volchenkov.
- I like Bloom's style. He is moderately tough, versatile, includes a head. However, my English is not very good. But the guys help, translate.

- And Volchenkov?
- Antokha is the leader, in charge of block shots, he is friends with the pass. I take an example from him.

- Did you talk about your golden goal at the 2002 World Youth Championship to the Canadians?
- We did not talk on this topic, but I know. A beautiful story. Do I want to repeat it? It would be nice. But first you need to get into the national team for the World Cup. By the way, we have guys in the Admiral who went through the youth team and won gold. These are goalkeeper Igor Bobkov and forward Maxim Kitsyn.

- Both played with Valery Bragin at the World Championships in Buffalo ...
- Bobkov said that he played two incomplete matches in that championship and both with the Canadians - the starting and the final. In the first he was replaced, in the second he came on as a substitute.

- And I didn't miss it in the final! Have you ever played against the Canadians?
- No. But the KHL has such a team - Neftekhimik. There, the guys run, stick, beat. And you know who their coach is.

- Did you have any idols in Mytishchi?
- Believe it or not, but in Atlanta I followed not the defenders, but the attackers. I liked Screamers very much, and also Nesterov. Those are still trains. Plus Mozyakin, goalkeeper Barulin.

- Nesterov is also a "diver" ...
- Yes ... - laughs.

- Do you remember the final of the Gagarin Cup in Mytishchi?
- Of course! I went to every match. And I went to the World Championship in Mytishchi. Although he was small. It's been ten years now. But I remember Haru, Gaborik, Nash, Toews still very young ...

- Let's talk about the "Admiral". How do you like the new acting head coach Fredrik Stillman?
- He worked with the defenders for Andrievsky. And now it keeps more about the defenders. Positive person. With him, the team began to smile more. Although Andrievsky was not formidable, he just looked formidable. Apparently, the team needed a shake-up.

- Last season, coach Maxim Spiridonov worked at Admiral. They say harmful ...
- Demanding. When necessary, cramps. He even forced me to fight. This is not enough now. Laxity went without him ...

- Did you fight?
- With Lauta from Omsk ...

- The famous bully. In the summer, he fought with the new head coach of Avangard, Andrey Skabelka, and was expelled.
- And we have heard this story.

- You have not played the last two matches - with Ufa and Sochi, won by Admiral with a total score of 9: 1 ...
- I couldn't with Sochi, because I was already in Novogorsk, and they didn't deliver to Ufa because of minor damage, they kept it for the national team. I like everything about Admiral, they trust me, and this is the most important thing.

- Do you like salary delays too?
- Here he does not depend on us. And it's too early for me to think about money. First you need to gain a foothold in the team.

- Aren't you bored alone in Vladivostok?
- I'm not alone. A girl with me. She used to dance in our support group.

- Aren't you afraid of Canadians?
- Should not. We have such a coach. He knows how to play with them, how to defeat them.

The past season for the 18-year-old defender of the “sailors” Daniil Kurashov made his debut in the KHL, and yesterday for the first time in his career he received a call to the youth team of Russia (players under 20).

I was informed about the call to the national team by phone, - told defense player ... - I was very happy. The challenge to the national team is the happiest thing for me. I strove for this. We finished the season on March 4, but I didn’t stop training, so I’m ready for the training camp in the youth team. Now I need to prove myself there, show what I am capable of, win the tournament, and then we will see. Of course, I would like to play for the national team at the World Cup.

I assess the past season in the KHL positively. Everything was fine, although at first a lot did not work out, the coaches and teammates gave advice, helped, and gradually everything worked out. Of course, I remember my debut in the KHL. I played my first full-fledged game in Vladivostok against Amur, then they gave me a chance, and I managed to prove myself. I even gave an assist to Aleksandrov, thanks to him for being able to send the puck into the goal in that episode. And my official debut took place in St. Petersburg, I went there for one shift, but local statistics did not see this. The guys from the press service wrote a letter to the KHL, sent a video, and only after that they recorded that shift for me (laughs).

Vladivostok has the brightest impressions of the season. I have never seen such fans and such support, especially since it was the first season for me. It is very pleasant to be on the ice when you are so supported, so worried. I liked Vladivostok, it is a very beautiful city, and everyone is rooting for Admiral. I quickly adapted to flying, because I played in the MHL for Sakhalin, and there we flew enough. It was not a big deal.
