Is Navka back? The Chinese stage of the Grand Prix brought Russia five medals. Kolyada's golden ambitions, Zagitova's victory and the world record in dancing: the Grand Prix in figure skating was held in China, the Cup of China in figure skating

It is impossible to stop Russian girls. The Asian trip of Elena Radionova and Elizaveta Tuktamysheva went almost perfectly. Both skaters stalled at the start of the season showed tremendous progress. Inspirational free dance of Radionova in the image of Princess Turandot was hindered only by the sponsorship of the famous auto concern under the girl's slender legs. Honestly, knocked off the whole romantic mood. Well, the judges looked from the side and saw only the championship rental.

Tatiana Tarasova, commenting on Tuktamysheva's exit on Match TV, remembered that the girl was "from the city of Glazov, where the train is standing for two minutes." Nevertheless, Liza managed to jump into the carriage with skates under her arm and get to the St. Petersburg school of Alexei Mishin. If the cheerful Professor is tired of something in his craft, then from endless questions: "When, when will Lisa return to her previous level?" She returned to China. Almost. The Petersburg woman tore off the triple lutz and crumpled the exit in the cascade, but there was much more grace in her than tension. Perhaps, for the first time in the winter, while renting it, I managed to relax and watch the waves of the branded “sail-sleeves”, which annoy for the first 30 seconds and then begin to hypnotize. All this brought Lisa the third place.

The doubles tournament, as such, did not take place in Beijing. All foreigners seemed to have come with the thought: "At home, the Chinese will win anyway, let's better sleep!" The guests dozed as they walked, tore off the simplest elements and allowed two Chinese couples to play for the first place. The St. Petersburg duet of Yuko Kawaguchi and Alexander Smirnov made very gross mistakes in their supports. Well at least no injuries this time. "The pleasure of skating, long forgotten, returned to me," Kawaguchi said optimistically. The Russian Japanese woman can be understood. She celebrated her 34th birthday on Sunday. You have to be an amazing athlete to keep the courage of amateur starts at this age. Of course, Smirnov and Kawaguchi are unique.

In the men's program, the idol of the Chinese tribune Jin Boyang jumped like an NBA star. True, they hang on the ring, and how Boyan is held in the air is beyond the comprehension of the mind. However, the great, terrible and by no means alien to China, Canadian Patrick Chan outdone him in charisma ... and reputation. Russian men once again found themselves on the sidelines of the conversation of the champions, content with the struggle for the places of the best among the worst. Sergey Voronov took third place. The Russians have a lot to add, but the leaders are too far away. It is not their backs that loom on the horizon, but the return of Evgeni Plushenko.

In the dances, it was generally imagined that Tatyana Navka was skating on the ice again. The skill of stylists made Victoria Sinitsina her exact copy of the times of the Turin Olympics. The same hairstyle, dazzling golden hair, piercing eyes ... in which there is no spark. The dances of the "blue-eyed couple" Nikita Katsalapov and Victoria Sinitsyna are like those balls from an anecdote. Beautiful, fly, but not happy. However, after two joint seasons, the guys finally rose to technical heights. In the Chinese stage, they were quite harmonious for the fourth place. Perhaps passion will follow synchronicity. Muscovite Ivan Bukin and Petersburg woman Alexandra Stepanova, bronze medalists of the stage, proved to be excellent. Here they have enough light for a whole team of synchronized skaters and the judges will still have to light a cigarette. The rarest exquisite spins of the "duet of two capitals" deserve the highest marks, but the referees hold them back. Let's hope so for now.

Russian figure skater Elena Radionova brought a surprise by becoming the winner of the Chinese stage of the Grand Prix in the women's single skating... Taking second place in the short program, the 17-year-old Muscovite skated excellently in her free free skate, thanks to which she was ahead of the leading Canadian Caitlin Osmond almost ten points.

During her Turandot program, Radionova performed six triple jumps, including a triple lutz - a single sheepskin coat - a triple salchow. However, she made a small mistake on the sheepskin coat, which is why she missed points.

Still, a 135.15 free skate score was her best result of the season. With a total of 205.90 points, Radionova won her first gold at the Grand Prix stages.

  • My performance was not perfect, but it was the best for me this season, both in terms of jumping and skating in general. Now I am just overwhelmed with emotions and happy that I was able to achieve such a result.
  • Another Russian woman ascended the podium Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, who performed five clean triple jumps in her Peer Gynt program.

World and European Champion 2015 in free program scored a record 127.69 points for herself this season, due to which she moved from fourth to third place, which should help her get out of the protracted crisis.

  • This competition was one of the best I've had of the season. The short one didn't turn out as well as I could skate it, but I'm very happy with the free program. I was not even upset by the fact that I did not do the triple lutz in the second half, because we returned to the old free program, skated it after the break for the first time, and I have a rather difficult set in the second half. It was important for me to understand how everything will turn out. Moreover, before this Grand Prix I got sick. We did not have time to check everything properly, to train it. Naturally, in such a situation, there was no question of any triple axel. I was barely able to collect all the elements. And our task at these competitions was to get out and feel how I can roll out this program.
  • Japanese Mai Mihara dropped from third to fourth position after two mistakes in jumping. Another Japanese woman Rica Hongo became the fifth, and the titled American Ashley Wagner- only the sixth.

Obviously, with gold and silver medals, Radionova made her way to the Grand Prix finals. Osmond is to perform there with two silver awards. But Wagner practically lost her chances to qualify for the coveted six.

    Chan's unexpected dash

Three-time world champion Patrick Chan to some extent failed the short program, finishing only in third place with a modest score of 83.41. However, in the free program, he managed to get ahead of all his rivals in an incredible way.

At the box office to the music "Journey", the Canadian made only one gross mistake when he fell on a quarter salchow. But that didn't stop him from showing best result in the season - 196.31 points. In total, he scored 279.72 points, having won the second victory at the stages of the Grand Prix.

The second was the Chinese Jin Boyang, confidently leading after the first type of program. Perhaps on home ice he would have managed to take first place, if not for the mistake on the quarter sheepskin coat, which took away many points from him.

It is pleasant to note that the Russian has rounded out the top three Sergey Voronov... According to the results of the short and free programs, he took fourth places, but in the end he became the third, since many of his competitors did not show stability.

Voronov successfully made a combination of quadruple and triple sheepskin coats, as well as two triple axels. But it was not without silly mistakes, such as executing an extra cascade.

  • I myself wonder what happened. This tournament for me has become a tournament of completely rash and stupid mistakes. Of course, I praise myself for the bronze medal, praise for being among the winners in the company with such worthy guys. No matter how many stages I watched, there were no weak Grand Prix in men's single skating. The only thing I can blame myself for is that you should not make stupid mistakes in the future. It's one thing to fall from a quadruple - not scary. But an extra cascade ... By the age of 29 it is unforgivable. Although, depending on how much more he intends to ride? If up to 35, then everything is ahead.
  • Fourth place was taken by an American Mac Aaron, fifth - Chinese Yan Han, and the sixth and seventh places went to the Russians - Alexander Petrov and Maxim Kovtun... Both Petrov and Kovtun failed the short program, and although they performed a little better in the free program, they did not make it to the podium.

As for the Grand Prix final, Chan has already made his way to it, joining the Spaniard Javier Fernandez and the Japanese Sema Uno.

    Home triumph in pairs

V pair skating the absolute best were the skaters from China. Won the Grand Prix Yu Xiaoyu and Zhang Hao spending their first season with the same team.

Silver medalists of the Canadian stage showed the best result in short and free programs, scored 203.76 in total and climbed to the top step of the podium.

Another Chinese couple Peng Cheng and Jin yang I tried on myself, with whom, most likely, I was satisfied, because after the first day I was only in third position.

Well, the top three of the strongest were closed by the ex-Russian Lyubov Ilyushechkina and Dylan Moskovich representing Canada. Due to mistakes in solo jumps, they lacked points and could not keep the second line.

The Chinese stopped a step away from the podium Wang Xuehan and Wang Lei, Italians Nicole Della Monica and Matteo Guarise became the fifth, and the Russians Yuko Kawaguchi and Alexander Smirnov finished sixth.

  • We can say that we were ready. But it is possible that it is not. Personally, I was not psychologically very ready. V short program on the jump, like at the Grand Prix in Canada, she made a mistake. And in the free program I tried to concentrate in a different way. You see, in recent times I didn’t see the gym, I didn’t see anything, and I skated because I had to skate. And at these competitions I saw the audience, felt the hall and realized that, at last, the long-forgotten feelings that I experienced during the competition returned to me. I'm very happy. I don't know how long this state will last.
  • Yu Xiaoyu and Zhang Hao qualified for the Grand Prix finals, while Peng Cheng and Jin Yang will compete for him in Japan. Earlier, Russians received vouchers to Marseille Evgeniya Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov as well as representatives of Germany Alena Savchenko and Bruno Massot.

    Progress of Stepanova and Bukin

Russian fans were delighted in ice dancing Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin, who took third place and for the first time scored more than 100 points for free dance.

To the music of Argentine tango, the Russians performed the fourth level supports, twizzles and spins, while their diagonals and serpentines were rated at the third level.

In general, Stepanova and Bukin continue to progress, so soon we can expect from them serious competition with the leaders.

  • I think that at this start we skated more consciously. We understood more that we want to show how we should skate. I am very pleased that I managed to convey this. It's not easy to skate the programs ... After Canada, we changed a lot in the free program. Maybe these things are invisible to the audience, but for us it was important. Personal records give us the understanding that we are truly competitive. Previously, the coaches constantly told us: Guys, you can, skate, skate ... “But we skated, looked at the scores and wondered: what level are we at? Now the grades received at the Grand Prix give us an answer to this question, show that we can compete with other couples.
  • The Americans won the victory in China Mayan and Alex Shibutani ahead of the free dance Caitlin Weaver and Andrew Poje from Canada.

Other Russian couple Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov stopped one step away from the medals, taking fourth place, not only in terms of the amount of points, but also in each of the programs separately.

Maya and Alex Shibutani, their compatriots, qualified for the Grand Prix finals Madison Chock / Evan Bates and Madison Hubbell / Zachary Donoghue as well as Russians Ekaterina Bobrova and Dmitry Soloviev.
