Men's World Figure Skating Championships. Medals were also won: Adian Pitkeev - silver in single skating among young men, Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov - silver, Maria Vygalova and Yegor Zakroev - bronze in sports pairs, Anna Yanovskaya and Sergey M

Well, here we are at the finish line - in Japan for the World Championships. What to say? It was a long, difficult and grueling season, not only for the athletes themselves, but for all figure skating fans. I know many people think that after the Olympics the World Cup is no longer needed. That no one has the strength for him and that the main awards have already been raffled off. But it depends on how you look. Indeed, on the one hand, the post-Olympic Championship is the final completion of the four-year period, but on the other hand, it is the beginning of a new cycle. For some, this is an opportunity to say goodbye to sports beautifully, but for others, on the contrary, to loudly declare themselves. And looking at the skaters skating at this championship, I am glad that it exists - so many positive emotions that gradually fill you after that devastation from the Olympics.

I would also like to say about the Japanese public! Those who are especially patriotic should not read this paragraph. What are the Japanese fellows! How they meet all athletes, how they support, regardless of nationality, regardless of whether this skater is a rival to their compatriot or not! I lost count of how many times the Japanese audience literally jumped up from their seats and gave a standing ovation! The public in Sochi should be ashamed that they could not support everyone so much at the main start of not only this cycle, but also the main start of life for most athletes! How glad I am that many skaters still went to Japan and received the standing ovation and reception they deserve!

However, for figure skating enthusiasts, the World Championship in Japan is still a challenge. We were again faced with a difficult choice: sleep or figure skating... Taking into account the time difference, my first appearance started at three in the morning! So I apologize for some belatedness - the body demanded sleep and categorically protested the writing of something meaningful.

So about couples. With each start I catch myself thinking that I like the French Vanessa James Morgan Sipre more and more! They are cool, they are interesting, they can spark a surprise - they are technically strong! It is clear that it is not always possible to skate cleanly, but what great jumps they have! It could have been a great rental of the free program, if not for this terrible fall from support at the end. At such moments, you really think about how difficult and dangerous species pair skating! Good luck to the guys next season, I think they will show everyone what they are capable of.

There is something about this pair that makes me wish them a lot of success!

Congratulations to Nodari Maisuradze and Yulia Antipova on a worthy debut. It is still difficult for me to perceive them exactly as a couple - the age difference is very striking. But their prospects are very good, although much will depend on how much Julia grows up. This season they have dealt with main task- declared themselves. But to get into the elite of pair skating, you need to look for your own style, polish, remove this some provinciality (forgive me if I offended anyone with this, but so far it is so). It is striking that both programs are placed exclusively on a partner. I can't say that Julia looks organically in them, I would say that she was practically invisible in them. A compromise can be found - in one program to show the fragility and tenderness of the partner, and in the other - the pressure and drive of the partner. Well, about the costumes .... such a trifle but spoils the impression of the couple, you need to work on it.

Decent debut!

Vera Bazarova Yuri Larionov definitely needs to change something. The season did not work out at all. Yes, we do not know everything, maybe there are health problems or injuries on the way. But the result is that the couple, which last season was predicted to be the leaders of the new cycle, the whole season is somewhere in the end of the top ten. And if earlier Vera had only a problem with jumps, and the other elements were at their best, now Vera not only lands jumps on big holidays, but the quality of other elements has also deteriorated! The idea short program interesting in itself, but its execution looks a little strained. Perhaps we are fans and ourselves are partly to blame for this not very successful experiment. After all, they kept repeating as usual: "Well, how many more Bazarova Larionov will skate to the next lyrics!" Well now we can admit - we were wrong, it is better to return the lyrics, they look much more organic in it.

The free program to the music of Borodin is better suited to their texture, both in mood and in style. It is a pity that technical flaws prevented this production from playing. Such light majesty suits them more than antics and ostentatious gaiety. And again, we were not allowed to forget that pair skating is a very dangerous kind - how Yura managed to catch Vera literally a few centimeters from the ice! Well, I probably won't be surprised if they announce the transfer of this pair to another coach in the summer. Perhaps Nina Moser's team does not suit them, perhaps they need to be the only ones with the coach, there are too many different "maybe". In any case, if there are health problems, then first of all you need to solve them.

It's probably time for some drastic changes!

With Ban Tun's retirement pair skating An entire era has ended in China! And the second such heartfelt, with perfect lines, an incredible feeling for each other, of course, is not yet available. But the prospects for the Chinese doubles are quite bright! Fifth and sixth place is very good! In addition, the sum of these places fits into the cherished 13, so at the next World Championship we will be able to see three couples from China! I really hope that these will be the junior world champions I liked so much this year! Both couples are very interesting, but completely different. It seems to me that Cheng PENG Hao ZHANG are the followers of Pan Tung, they develop in the best traditions of the Chinese school. In just one season, they turned from "dad and daughter" into a very harmonious couple. Chen added a lot in terms of lines, presentations, now you need to learn how to get ready for jumping elements. I really hope that during this season they, as a couple, have gained the necessary competitive experience and self-confidence.

I expect a lot from this pair in the next cycle!

Wenjing SUI Cong HAN, on the other hand, looks like an unconventional Chinese couple in character! Completely different. Such incendiary meteors! Probably, this openness, which we rarely see in sports couples from China, is captivating. They have very well-chosen musical themes for their programs. It's great when a choreographer soberly sees the shortcomings and advantages of athletes and does not try to make of them those who they are not. And only one thing causes concern in me - they have a very small difference in height, whether the girl will grow up strongly.

The action from Marina Zueva "When ordering a production, you will receive a sketch of costumes as a gift" continues!

For Canadian couples, this World Championship was definitely successful. I will not undertake to judge which of them is better - the couples are very different and I like both. Moore-Towers Moskovich has one of the best short programs, and I have the feeling that they have been underestimated in components. And in the free program, Kirsten and Dylan probably gave their best skates! Finally, I was impressed with this program, finally it started playing! I really hope that they will remain for the next cycle.

Will there be a change of the first pair in the Canadian national team?

The second bronze of the world championship again goes to the piggy bank of the Canadian pair Megan Duhamel and Eric Redford! Well, now we know for sure that last year's success was by no means accidental. In the short program, they literally gave out the rental of life! We skated very enthusiastically and at the same time coped with all their technical complexity! Yes, many said that the lyrics are not for them. I suggest you take your words back - Megan and Eric looked very cool in the lyric program. Perhaps not the least was the fact that Eric himself wrote the music to which they skated. Well, I can't help but praise all these "fishes" - interesting transitions, small dance support, of which there were many.

It is a pity that they did not manage to skate the free program as cleanly and confidently as the short one. I really wanted to see what this program can be, with a clean release, what impression it can leave. Because the whole season I had the feeling that an interesting idea did not develop into an interesting final product. Not even that, though. The final product is still interesting, but a bit passable - not for the Olympic season. But initially it seemed that these particular images suited them better, but it turned out on the contrary - the short program turned out to be more successful. Well, Moore-Towers Moscovic and Duhamel Redford at the end of the season again made us all wonder whether there will be a change of leader in the Canadian national team or not, both pairs look very strong, but both need some kind of breakthrough regarding themselves in order to aim for more. ...

Megan, why couldn't you have skated in this dress all season ?!

Ksenia Stolbova and Fedor Klimov finally finished their most difficult season for themselves (it was especially difficult at the beginning, with all the injuries that followed this couple), and finished more than worthily - the silver of the World Championship! Although, something tells me that the guys went to this championship for gold. Well, nothing, they will definitely have it! For some reason I have no doubt about it. By the way, I noticed for myself that I don't doubt them at all. Here, Ksenia and Fyodor are skating, and I don’t think: “they will do it or not,” “they will fall or not,” somehow calmly, you know what “they will do, they will leave, they will survive”! Great quality when athletes inspire confidence. I think this self-confidence is passed on to the judges too! And if suddenly something did not work out, then they will not become limp and will continue to fight for each element. This is a champion character!

I really like both of their programs. Ideal for them. And the free one in general is beyond praise. Eh, how I wish for the next season for the children of the programs from the director of this free program (although I know that this is not very real)! And I also want to praise Ksenia and Fedor for their style, for their stunning, modern, laconic costumes! In this regard, they had no competition in this championship!

The most stylish Russian couple!

I am extremely glad that Alena Savchenko and Robin Shelkov made this difficult decision, not to leave immediately after the Olympics, but to go to the World Championship! They deserve the opportunity to leave beautifully. Go away under a storm of applause, long standing ovations and a guard of flowers and gifts! Many thanks to the amazing Japanese audience for this goodbye! Without a doubt, even without gold Olympic medal, this pair has left a huge and bright mark on the history of figure skating! No, just think about it! Five-time world champions, four-time European champions, bronze medalists of the 2010 and 2014 Olympic Games! You can not love them, it is impossible not to respect them!

Thank you for driving pair skating forward all these years!

And with what music this couple ended their sports career! Huge, filling every corner ice arena, the majestic and incredibly solemn music of Tchaikovsky! It was impossible to remain indifferent. With the departure of Alena and Robin, we are saying goodbye to a whole era in pair skating! Although there are rumors that Alena is not going to give up and wants to try to perform further, though with a different partner. According to unofficial rumors, France's Bruno Massot may become a new partner for this new Ukrainian girl. Oh, I don't even know what to say. But I somehow like this beautiful farewell to sports more than vague prospects, I want one of the best guys in the world to end her career on a winning note!

Special thanks to Alena for the Ukrainian ribbon

Congratulations to Elena Radionova, Serafima Sakhanovich, Evgenia Medvedeva, Adyan Pitkeev, Evgenia Tarasova, Vladimir Morozov, Maria Vygalova, Yegor Zakroev, Anna Yanovskaya and Sergey Mozgov with a victory at the junior world championship !!!

World Championship figure skating among juniors was held from 10 to 16 March 2014 in the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia.

Recall that according to the rules of the International Skating Union, young men and women from 13 to 19 years old are considered juniors (except for men performing in pairs and ice dancing, their age limit is 21 years).
In the team competition, our guys won the first place, having received 7 medals, from the second and third places from the USA and Canada, only two.

For the second time in a row at the junior world, our girls managed to take all three prizes. Elena Radionova, Serafima Sakhanovich and Evgenia Medvedeva three of them stood on the podium!

Medals were also won: Adian Pitkeev - silver in single skating among young men, Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov - silver, Maria Vygalova and Egor Zakroev - bronze in sports pairs, Anna Yanovskaya and Sergey Mozgov - silver in sports dances!

What do you associate with the "red car"... With a racing car? For generations of your fathers and grandfathers, this is the USSR hockey team. For many years she was the main favorite in any championship! But now the same invincibility has Russian hockey players No! And the "red car" is again next to us - these are our skaters!

And this success has many traditions! Not everyone knows that the first figure skating championship was held in Russia, in St. Petersburg in 1896... Initially, only men competed in the singles program. There were no rules governing the participation of women. Only six years later they began to participate in championships, and competed together with men! But it was only at the 1906 championship that the women's program appeared single skating... By the way, the birthday of ice hockey in Russia is December 22, 1946. Anyway, our skating experience is half a century longer than hockey!
And more than once it happened that our skaters occupied the entire pedestal! But the loners did not "go" in any way! No, there were victories. The first swallow is Elena Vodorezova, who became the third at the European Championship in 1978 in Strasbourg. Maria Butyrskaya won the 1999 World Championship in Helsinki.

Irina Slutskaya was the European champion and twice the World champion five times! But she has "only" second place at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City in the United States and third in 2006 in Turin, Italy. And there was no, there was no Olympic gold! And after the departure of Slutskaya, and completely "time of troubles"! Only six years later, at the 2012 World Championships, Alena Leonova won silver.

And now - Sochi! Our first Olympic champion in women's single figure skating - Adelina Sotnikova! And, how nice that our swallow - Elena Vodorezova, now married to Buyanova, led her to this result.

And we have the first and so far the only one in history two-time champion world junior women's single skating- this is Elena Radionova! For the past six years, our girls have invariably won or become prize-winners of the junior world championships. And last year in Italian Milan Elena Radionova, Yulia Lipnitskaya and Anna Pogorilaya became the winners!

15-year-old Radionova is already a professional figure skater, participates in the ice show of Natalia Bestemyanova and Igor Bobrin.

Shortly before the youthful world, Lena was slightly injured. I reminded myself again thumb legs! Due to an unfortunate old injury, I had to miss the junior championship of Russia. Participation in the world championship was also questionable. Her leg hurt a lot, but the girl set herself up for the fight, because she really wanted to compete in her second world championship! But we do a lot, not thanks to, but in spite of. Lena managed to get some rest. At this time, she skated a little, and perhaps she managed to gain strength, so necessary before the world championship. And in Sofia, she again achieved her goal!

Elena spent only a few days at the Olympic Games in Sochi. But she managed not only to walk around Olympic Park, but also watched the competition in women's single skating. And how the world champion among juniors was even able to perform at Olympic ice v demonstration performances.

In Sochi, Lena realized that sitting on the podium, you experience completely different emotions than in front of the TV. In an interview with Maria Vorobyova, Lena enthusiastically told: “And I will never forget the emotions I experienced at the Sochi Olympics! I am so glad that I also put my part in our Olympic Games, and took unforgettable memories with me from Sochi. I was so rooting for our athletes, so I wanted our team to become the first! So in my memory from this season I will have the Olympics and the junior world. The rest of the season was good for me, but I hope the next one will be even better! "

In the next season, Elena will have to fight in tournaments with the strongest skaters, but many of them are not much older than her and are already well known to her. And the tasks are the same - to qualify for the Grand Prix finals, to get into the national team to participate in the European and world championships, to perform with dignity at the Russian championship. And you will have to work even more to realize all your goals for this season. Elena understands that the second victory in the junior world is only a small step in her career. More and more important starts and victories are ahead. And we must strive to rise even higher.

Now the skater has new training camps and trainings. Two new programs are already ready. They are completely different. Lena promises that we have not seen such images yet! Let's reveal a little secret! Ilya Averbukh worked on the short program, and Elena Stanislavovna Maslennikova staged the free program. The short program is a flamenco dance, and for the free program, Radionova's team chose the classical music of Sergei Rachmaninoff. But, of course, each image still needs a lot of work, since the young skater has never really skated such programs and she hopes to show them in all their glory.

Will wait! Winter is just around the corner! Good luck to you! And do not get sick!

And the next junior championship will be held from 2 to 8 March 2015 in the capital of Estonia, Tallinn.

    Let's get sick!

    Championship of Russia in Sochi
    (December 2014).
    World Junior Championships in Milan
    (February 2013)

The season is over. The 2014 World Cup is over. The women's free final note was not as sonorous as the men's RP, and overall left a mixed impression.

17th place for a Chinese woman Jin li... Danced gracefully; fell out of the blue. We'll look at it in a year. So far, all she has is potential.

Valentina Markey from Italy in 16th place - today it was a very decent rental, but the KP was too unsuccessful.

Mae Berenise Maite in 15th place, which means that France has one quota for next year... Will we see Maite in Shanghai? Honestly, I really want to hope that in France there will be other more talented skaters.

Caitlin Osmond in 11th place, too high for her. Today she skated "dirty" and incompetent.

10th place among Japanese women Kanako Murakami... She did everything she could, but it was not enough for a serious fight.

On the 9th place is one of the most interesting and promising Korean athletes Seo Yoon Park... She gave us a nice and clean ride, proving that Korean women's single skating will live on after Yuna Kim leaves.

8th Pauline Edmunds... She looked somehow like a junior today; she really needs to grow in plastic: smooth lines are still far from the softness of the same age as Serafima Stakhanovich, Zhenya Medvedeva, not to mention Anna Pogorila.

Seventh place in Ashley Wagner, which has given its best rental of the season and one of the best rentals for the entire competition day. She looked surprisingly natural on the ice, there was even enough entertainment. In general, this skater is progressing and has every chance of an even more successful next season.

Akiko Suzuki took sixth place. In the short she looked convincing, but she lost a lot to herself in the CP in the PP. Although her program is catchy, the music suits her, so the impressions were very good.

The top five opens Gracie Gold... She closed the World Cup and did it pretty well. It grows in components, but the program is about nothing. However, given the declared technical complexity, with more suitable productions, Gracie can turn into a worthy rival.

Nevertheless, I have not yet seen anything really championship among American women.

In fourth place, the gorgeous performance Anna Pogorilaya... She succeeded in a very clean ride (of the minuses - only an edge on a 3 flip), two spins and a level 4 track. Anya does not lack expression and expressiveness. Successful participation in serious international tournament will give good push her career, the components will surely grow, so if the equipment remains on high level- we will get one more strong Russian single skater. There is only one thing that scares me: age. Ani, Julia, Elena Radionova have the most difficult years for figure skaters ahead. Let's believe in the best.

Absolutely creepy rental Carolina Costner... I noticed that she was nervous during the warm-up, but such a performance was a complete surprise. She managed to withstand artistry at a good quality, but it was infinitely far from the "Bolero" on Olympic Games... Butterflies on rittberger and flip, fall - final bronze - tribute to her great career and excellent talent. If Carolina continues her career, she must understand that there will be no more grateful points (if the tournament is not in Italy). In any case, we wish her every success in her future life and once again say thank you for the magnificent Ave Maria.

The emotional side of the rental Julia Lipnitskaya delighted. No constraint, haste, she lived through the music, and absolutely nothing foreshadowed a fall. We are in last time watched the best free skate of all singles this season. 3salchow, who, in addition to falling, also came out with a strong under-rotation and two irregular ribs determined the unconditional second place. The "Japanese" factor did not affect today's competition in any way.

With a gold medal Mao Assada... Skated gorgeous, but not as magical as at the Olympics. The track was very impressive; a visible blot on one jump and again a triple axel, albeit with an undercool, by the way, Mao was given three undercool. For the components, Assada received 4 points more than Lipnitskaya, with which one can argue, but for connoisseurs of figure skating, such a decision is completely understandable and undoubtedly.

Congratulations to everyone on the success Russian singles and a single skater who showed the highest possible result!

In general, the championship went much better than expected: the number and behavior of the fans in the stands was incredibly pleasing, and the refereeing was objective.

The best performances of the World Cup 2014 : KP Machida, KP Werner, KP Bessegier, PP Chanyu, PP Nguyena, PP Abbott; KP Asada, KP Kostner, KP Suzuki, PP Pogoriloy, PP Wagner, PP Lipnitskaya.

As for the Russians, Ilinykh and Katsalapov scored 65.67 points, and Sinitsina and Zhiganshin - 62.11 points. Such a result of the Ilinykh and Katsalapov is due to the fact that the couple made a mistake at the end of the rental.

Despite the fact that the Russians are now located outside the leading three, it can still change as a result of the performance of the free program.

Previously from the World Figure Skating Championships due to injury.
