Good compositions!

There is someone to fight with. It won't be boring.

Alexander01, this is when there were the Champions League-Cross competitions 1996 - 2009: Alexey Katrenko (Russia) - 5 + 1 + 0
Here is an interesting article - the history of the CHM, our achievements:
"Two eras of summer biathlon: dates, medals, events." biathlonrus.com

Just like that, titles are not given! You have to work hard to achieve something!
There are, of course, exceptions - not without it ...;)

Irsen, generally incomprehensible to me competitions ...

I have an acquaintance - Lesha Katrenko, recently, quite by accident, I learned that he is a biathlon ZMS and five-time! world champion, not counting a bunch of other regalia ... Damn, who knows, who heard about him? Did Huber ever mention that name?

The simplest thing is to equate the summer World Cup with the World Cup stage with the accrual of points in the Cup standings and other gingerbreads ... I am sure that all the tops will jump into the jump to participate

Alexander01 is really strange.
Although, they often ignore the Chirp, hold their own competitions - the Blink festival was recently held in Norway ...
There was infa from the organizers that this LCHM is the most representative in terms of the number of participants ...

Strange World Cup ... Where are France, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Norway and further down the list? What is the size of the prize money?
If this IBU-sponsored competition is called the World Championship, make a damn effort to popularize it ...

If this is a world championship, for winning it they give the title of honored master of sports, in principle, without bothering too much, you can get an ZMS. Why tear veins in winter?

The lineups of the rivals are quite competitive :) However, not all teams have.
Ours - good work at the borders and everything will work out!
The Czechs prepared for the home World Cup.
Ours at the last CHM in Tchaikovsky performed great!
I wish you luck, if they win, it will be great!) We are waiting for the anthem of Russia! ...

Good luck! It will be very pleasant to hear the victorious anthem of Russia again!

Yes, I noticed. On another site, he seems to have been mentioned last ... Well, okay. All the same, I am glad that they put it.

Alexey-Cyclist, like Yura, was announced at the fourth stage ...

Good composition. I am glad that Porshnev was apparently taken seriously. They did not hesitate to put the youngest on the last stage. Maybe Khovantsev really knows how to get out of the crisis ...? Well, we'll see what will come of it. Our main competitors will be Ukrainians, Czechs and Slovaks. The fight for medals will be interesting. Well, I am glad that several teams have brought strong rosters. We benefit from the development of summer biathlon.

The Germans, Norgs and the French do not care about the chirp. And the Czechs and Ukrainians are running with the strongest composition. Good luck to ours!

Katerina, Margarita, Nikita and Yure - great race! Victory!
More accurate! There are strong rivals! Interesting race will be!

On the last weekend of August, the main biathlon tournament of the summer, the World Championship, will be held in the Czech Republic. A decent crowd gathers there, even the leaders of their national teams will come. And the leader of the Russian national team will also be, but this is not Shipulin.

The IBU is confident that summer biathlon is the future, but so far it still looks more like a miserable semblance of winter biathlon. Or not already?

Who, where, when

The Summer Biathlon World Championship will be held in Nove Mesto from 24 to 26 August. Athletes will run all three roller ski races - sprint, pursuit and mixed relay. Until 2006, short runs were running at the summer World Cup, but now athletes cover distances identical to those at the World Cup. The organizers send a message that summer biathlon can be as mesmerizing as winter biathlon. Maybe even more attractive, and in general this is the sport of the future.

It turns out so far not very cool.

One of the obvious reasons for this is that the organizers cannot manage to gather a truly stellar line-up of participants. The summer World Cup is most serious in the countries of the CIS and Eastern Europe, but even there the compositions are far from optimal. For example, Russia. There is Ekaterina Yurlova-Perkht, who must run all three races in the tournament. She is definitely the leader of the national team. There is Yuri Shopin, Pyotr Pashchenko, Nikita Porshnev, but this is rather the second echelon of the men's team. That, in general, is all.

Of course, it will be interesting to watch the competitions of juniors and juniors, but such a poster will not attract a mass audience. This is more for us hardcore biathlon fans.

What's with Shipulin?

On the eve of celebrating his 31-year-old, he continues to torment the fans with uncertainty. The SBR understands that Shipulin is the only one in our country and they give him as much time as he needs. But Vladimir Drachev and the company, apparently, have not yet found final points of contact with Anton. One way or another, we will not see Shipulin in Nové Mesto.

But he has a wealth of experience in performing at the summer world championships.

Shipulin won the mixed relay tournament three times. Last time it was last year in Tchaikovsky with Ulyana Kaisheva, Svetlana Sleptsova and Alexei Volkov. We will not see any of them in the Czech Republic. Two other victories came in 2011 and 2012. In personal races at the summer World Championships, Anton won silver in 2017 and bronze in 2012. It is noteworthy that both tournaments were held in Russia. It was from 2011-2012 that Shipulin's career began to progress, which soon brought him into the ranks of the three best biathletes in the world. It is quite possible that participation in the summer World Championships played a positive role in this.

Were there any more stars at the summer World Championships?

Undoubtedly. Ole Einar Bjoerndalen won silver and bronze in the sprint back in 1996 and 1997. In 2004, Zdenek Vitek won. In the roller ski era, in the summer, Maxim Chudov, who is multiple champion in summer biathlon. Among other triumphs, we note Simon Fourcade, Michael Rösch, Dmitry Yaroshenko, Lukas Hofer, Ondřej Moravec, Vladimir Iliev, Martin Otchenash, Andrey Rastorguev.

Where is Martin Fourcade, the Bo brothers, Emil-Hegle Svendsen? Obviously, the top stars in men's biathlon prefer a different plan for winter preparation.

The situation is similar for women. To put it mildly, not all the protagonists of the World Cup are ready to spend energy and emotions on the summer world championships. Although Magdalena Neuner did not disdain summer starts and won the World Cup in Oberhof in 2009. Kaisa Mäkäräinen, Dorothea Wierer, Julia Dzhima, Anna Frolina also performed successfully at the summer World Championships.

It would also be great to see Gabriela Koukalova at the World Championships, but the story of her downtime continues to remain mysterious.

For several years now, the International Biathlon Union has loudly asserted that summer biathlon is an independent sport with great potential, capable of eventually becoming equal even to winter biathlon. Indeed, roller ski races can be organized in any country in the world. South American or African biathletes are, at the very least, colorful and spectacular. The level of competition must grow sports wrestling- get hot.

However, in summer biathlon, the opposite is true. The Summer World Championship was once again held in complete silence and oblivion and turned out to be of interest only to the conducting side - the Czechs put a strong line-up for the tournament. Of the other biathlon stars who made it to Nove Mesto, only the sisters Semerenko and Ekaterina Yurlova-Perkht, who left the World Championship with gold, can be distinguished.

Biathlon of the future without Shipulin and Fourcade. Everything you need to know about it

Great biathletes ignore this summer's main start. But the leader of the Russian national team will come.

Mixed relay. Mixed feelings

It should be noted right away that it makes absolutely no sense to view the results of the summer world championship through the prism of the upcoming winter season. In three months, everything can turn upside down - there are many examples of this in the history of biathlon.

So, looking at these results, it is simply stupid to judge future victories or failures.

But nothing prevents you from being happy for the Russians here and now. Moreover, there are a couple of reasons for this. The first of them is the victory of the Russian four in the mixed relay. Ekaterina Yurlova-Perkht, Margarita Vasilyeva, Nikita Porshnev and Yuri Shopin achieved a convincing victory on the very first day of the competition: the Russians brought the Czechs a little less than a minute.

Interestingly, the main creator of success was not the experienced Yurlova-Perkht, who built the world championship into her preparation schedule for the season and descended to the Czech Republic from the Antholz highlands, but young athletes, in particular Nikita Porshnev, who won his stage in the competition with the Czech Moravets and the Ukrainian Take. And Yuri Shopin showed strong nerves: as a leader, he did not allow himself a single mistake and did not even give the Czech Krchmar a chance to compete for gold. Russia is the first. Czech Republic is second. Poland is third.

Unfortunately, it was not possible to keep the winning bar throughout the tournament. In the men's sprint-pursuit combination, Russia has two fifths: Maxim Burtasov and Nikita Porshnem could not compete with the Czechs who won five out of six medals. Experienced Czech leaders - Krcmar and Moravec - scored one victory each.

A similar situation has developed in women's races. Yurlova-Perkht finished ninth in the sprint - with two misses, she showed decent speed on the track. But in the pursuit, Ekaterina's shooting did not go well, and she let Margarita Vasilyeva go ahead, who became the eighth. And the victories in the women's races were celebrated by Paulina Fialkova and Slovakia and Veronika Vitkova from the Czech Republic.

Champions with a great future?

In parallel with the adult championship, the junior world championship was also held in Nove Mesto. And it was from there that the news came that Anna Grigorieva, who ran in the first stage of the mixed relay, barely finished her stage due to heart problems.

"Thank God, nothing happened ..." How the biathlete of the Russian national team almost died

Right during the relay race among juniors at the Summer Biathlon World Championships, the girl's heart grabbed. And the doctors knew about the problem.

For Grigorieva, the tournament ended in this race. The Russian national team became the fifth in it, using 13 additional cartridges and running two penalty circles. However, others did not shoot better. The Czech national team, which took first place, has one penalty and 15 penalties, while Poland, which won the silver medals, has a nightmarish 5 + 16.

In personal races, the Russian youth team were a little better. Valeria Vasnetsova took third place in the sprint with three penalties, but in the pursuit, showing the best shooting among the leaders, Valeria reached the gold medal, ahead of the Polish girl Kamila Zhuk.

Vasnetsova: managed to win the pursuit thanks to the mistakes of the rivals

Vyacheslav Maleev became the leader of the men's youth team in Nove Mesto. In the sprint, he finished second, seven seconds behind Czech Jakub Strvecki. In the pursuit, the young Czech shot as many as eight penalty loops, and Maleev, on the contrary, showed the best shooting in the race - no one missed less than two times, so he was able to keep his first place and won the title. Alas, none of the Russians in the pursuit race made it even to the top 15.

"I'm happy! From next season I will already start among men. Today was my last start in juniors. I am glad that it ended with such a success that I took a medal at this level. Satisfied that I was still able to cope with the shooting. Made two offensive mistakes. They are, in principle, a good indicator for me. One mistake on the counter - I couldn't cope with emotions. Pulled when fired, did not modify it a little. And lying down, maybe he wanted to hit so badly that he did not control everything, ”the happy winner shared his emotions.

Not development, but degradation

Unfortunately, the IBU has not done anything new this year to draw more attention to the tournament. Inviting the stars to special conditions- No. Solid prize money - no. Attracting viewers is not. Summer biathlon in the current season, he has not added in his development.

The World Championship in this sport is still a local tournament, interesting only for the participants themselves, and even then more from the point of view of preparation for winter season... If the International Biathlon Union continues to work on the development of this sport with the same "zeal", then summer biathlon will not develop, but only fade away.

When drawing up a calendar, the keyword remains with the organizers. live broadcast and broadcasting TV channels. Of course, the interests of broadcasters should coincide with the sports component. Natural conditions are also important - at almost all stages of the World Cup, unlike Tyumen, there is no lighting at the stadiums and therefore the organizers have to hold races in the morning or in the afternoon. IN North America World Cup races will start very early, so the IBU will face a severe cold. Therefore, the men overseas will be the first to hit the track. The search for consensus on the start time of the 2019 World Cup in Ostersund turned out to be especially tense. Sweden has a very short daylight hours, so each TV company, anticipating tasty TV ratings, tried to push the most pleasant TV slot for their country. Biathlon season 2018/2019. The calendar.
