Fishing ammunition and equipment. Fishing equipment, assistance in the selection of fishing equipment for beginners

Winter fishing is unique and interesting. To bring home a solid winter catch from under the ice in the first place? you need to know what an amateur's outfit should be winter fishing... What do you need to take on a fishing trip? In what clothes and shoes is it better to go fishing to be comfortable and warm? Let's consider the best options for equipment and equipment, the necessary tackle, find out? what you need for winter fishing for beginners.

Fishing in winter requires careful preparation. Wonderful winter fishing with a good catch, for both experienced and beginners, depends not only on how actively the fish are biting, but also on how warmly the fisherman is dressed. Chances are, you won't catch a bunch of fish if your hands get cold and you can't change your bait properly at the right time. And fishing with the frozen limbs of the fisherman will not bring any pleasure. But for true fishermen, neither frost nor cold is terrible. If you dress properly, what should be the clothes for frost fishing?

First of all, the clothes must be really warm. In a jacket that is about to cover your back, there is nothing to do in the cold. Since ancient times, it was considered the warmest and better than the rest, clothes made with natural sheepskin, in our case we will talk about a sheepskin sheepskin coat. It is really very warm in it, sheepskin fur warms well and protects heat, and the skin does not let the wind through. The same warmth will be in cotton pants, but thicker, it is almost impossible to freeze in such equipment. It would seem just an ideal option for winter fishing. But there is one caveat. Sheepskin coat and wadded trousers are incredibly heavy. Moving in such clothes on the ice, independently making holes in a heavy fur coat will be difficult and not handy. And if, God forbid, you fall under the ice, it is not realistic to get out in such equipment on your own. The clothes will get wet and become heavier many times over.

The second rule of winter clothing, it should be light and comfortable, should not be tight. After all, winter fishing requires movement. The ideal option would be more modern overalls or semi-overalls, which include pants and a jacket. The jacket must necessarily have a hood and collar, and the trousers must have a belt that will protect the back from blowing. It is advisable to purchase suits with breathable material, thanks to which all moisture will come out, and the heat will remain inside. Also, pay attention to what materials are used, they must be durable, protect from the wind and have the property of water permeability. If there is an opportunity, you should not save on fishing equipment, otherwise, in severe frost, a jacket made of low-quality material will simply become a stake. It is better to wear thermal underwear under a jacket and trousers, and a knitted sweater with a high collar on top.

Types of mittens

Fishing Gloves

Winter fishing has a drawback - severe frost. Today's anglers prefer gloves, because winter fishing requires jewelry work with bait and tackle. Gloves are needed more or less free, not restricting movements. At the same time, the material of the gloves must protect against frost and other surprises of nature. There are several types of gloves:

  • With a solid finger.
  • With the ability to bare fingers (flap valve).
  • Glove with a slip-on mitten.

"Grandfather's" mittens

Are the best option, they are very warm thanks to the sheepskin lining. Has an advantage over gloves, simple dressing and doffing. If you notice a bite, it will not be difficult to throw off the mitten.

Fishing mittens.

Mittens are not very convenient for fishing, but they keep warm well. If you decide to buy exactly mittens, choose those that have a fold-over top. Most likely, the top of such mittens will be made of waterproof material. For lining, you should give preference to fur or sheepskin.

Knitted gloves.

As tempting as modern technology may sound, knitted gloves will always remain a classic and warm option, they are also lightweight and comfortable. The only drawback of these gloves is their water permeability.

A couple of points to look out for when buying mittens:

  • Be sure to try on mittens, choose the appropriate size.
  • Look carefully at the mittens to see if they are defective.
  • Consider the material in detail: whether the gloves are elastic, whether they will get wet, how quickly they will wear out.
  • Pay attention to the lining of the gloves: is it well stitched, is all the material fraying, is it pleasant to the touch.
  • Find out about the warranty period for the mittens.

Choosing shoes for fishing

Choose your winter fishing shoes by following the reviews and the right fit.

Felt boots

Most often, on the ice, the feet freeze the fastest. If your shoes are tight or not warm enough, your feet will freeze quickly. After all, on winter fishing you will have to sit around the hole a lot and wait for a miracle. Good old felt boots are a great find for warming your feet in frost. With a fairly low weight, warm, moreover, they absorb moisture well, but there is one significant drawback. When wet, the felt boots absorb all the moisture into themselves, this makes them heavy, and the feet quickly freeze in damp felt boots. This problem is fixable. You can buy the so-called fishing shoe covers, which can be worn even on felt boots, at least on other winter fishing shoes, by the way, reviews about shoe covers are mostly positive. They are not expensive, they serve for a couple of seasons, and most importantly, the shoe covers have a high bootleg, which will not allow the boots to get wet.

Boots

Modern technologies do not stand still, your feet will stay warm and cozy with the help of winter boots made of membrane materials. The best winter fishing boots are moisture-permeable and heat-tight. These boots are more expensive than other types of shoes, but your feet will stay warm and comfortable. Such shoes for winter fishing have a lot of positive reviews.

Winter fishing: the necessary equipment

Ice screw

No winter fishing is complete without the main tool -. This is always necessary and obligatory, because during the time spent on the ice you will have to do more than one pair of holes in search of fish. Consider existing species ice screws:

  1. Ice screw "Spoon". The ice screw acquired this name thanks to the shape of a spoon that cuts the ice. This design is obsolete and has therefore been discontinued.
  2. Ice screw Auger. The ice auger consists of a rod, two knives are installed below it, which cut the ice.
  3. Cylinder ice screw. Few fishing enthusiasts use such an ice screw. An ice screw makes a small hole that forms a cylinder, then pushes it with a stick under the ice.
  4. Motorized auger. They work on an electric engine, or on a gasoline engine. Outwardly it looks like a huge drill. For a fishing enthusiast, such an ice screw is not used, it is too heavy, and is more often used in industry.

Hook

Winter fishing is not complete without a hook. The hook is a tool in the form of a handle with a sharp hook at the end. A hook will help to get large fish out of the water. When caught big trophy, you have to stick your hand into cold water in order to get fish from under the ice. Most often, the fish swims away with the bait. In the presence of a gaggle, the chances of not missing large fish are significantly increased. Especially necessary thing for those who like fishing with girders. Catch large fish not surprising here. Bagorik will help to cope even with fish, the size of which is much larger than the hole.

Photo 4. Folding hook.

Scoop (slotted spoon)

With the help of a scoop, anglers get rid of ice crumbs that accumulate after drilling a hole. The handle of the slotted spoon should be long enough, it is made of foam or wood. It is important that the scoop is strong. The scoop is often lost in the snow, experienced fishermen advise to paint the scoop in bright light.

Photo 5. Scoop with a warm cork handle.

Cut

It is also very convenient to fish with a hook. In order not to lose your lures in the water, you need to purchase a detachment. ... It falls to the bottom and thus presses on the bait, releases the hook that is caught. There is only one requirement for detachment: to thread the line of the fishing rod into the slot without any problems.

Fishing box (chaise)

If you are a regular winter fisherman without fishing box not enough. The fishing box has several advantages:

  • It is a great fishing seat.
  • It has an advantage over a regular chair, the box can be used to cover the hole from the wind, especially when fishing with a jig.
  • Ideal storage for various baits, fishing tackle, thermos and sandwiches for a snack.
  • Most often it has a soft seat.

Tackle for winter fishing

Winter fishing requires careful preparation. When packing for ice fishing for beginners, read the list and do not forget to prepare the necessary gear, such as:

  • Fishing line (diameter depends on what kind of fish you are going to fish).
  • Ice screw knives.
  • Various fishing rods.
  • Lures and baits.
  • Spoons and.
  • Flavors (fishy smell and its imitation).

There is nothing more beautiful than winter fishing. Dress warmly, take everything you need, and most importantly, do not forget to take a thermos with hot sweet tea with you, this will help you warm up and get a boost of vivacity. Happy fishing!

Fisherman's equipment

Each angler has a standard set of equipment that he takes with him when he goes fishing. This set includes:

  • Clothes
  • Fishing accessories
  • Tourist inventory
  • Dishes
  • Medication

All these things guarantee a comfortable fishing experience. However, they need to be able to choose the right one depending on the season and fishing method, the number of days allotted for fishing. Another factor is taken into account, whether the angler arrives by car or by public transport. In the second option, the set should be as compact and functional as possible.

Fishing equipment

When choosing things, the first thing we pay attention to is the time of year and the weather outside. If it is summer, then it is enough to have warm pants for night fishing and a light jacket. During the day we use shorts and a T-shirt made of breathable fabric.

If you go fishing on your own, it is better to wear sneakers. In them it is much more convenient to overcome the average and long distances... Sandals can be used if you come by car, and there are several meters to the place of fishing.

Wading boots and a rubber suit will be appropriate if the shore is dirty or in cases where it is necessary to enter the water. In a passenger car, these things should always be, they will not take up much space. In summer, be sure to have sunglasses, a light cap, a spare T-shirt, a pair of socks and a rain cover.

If we go on a winter fishing trip, a thermal suit and thermal underwear will be the ideal clothing. Thermal clothing - light, warm, windproof. In it, the fisherman feels very comfortable, even in severe frost. He is not constrained in movement, and will not freeze on the ice. Warm socks, a hat and special gloves will come in handy. Shoes should be as warm as possible and at the same time mobile, since fishing has to cover long distances. Especially if we catch with mugs.

In the spring-autumn season, clothes that protect the fisherman from rain and wind are relevant. Windbreakers, gloves that allow you to fish for a predator, warm hats, thermal socks and waterproof shoes will come in handy.

Thus, in your wardrobe you should have clothing sets for different seasons. So that you do not once again look for the right thing before going out on a fishing trip. You shouldn't waste time on such operations. It will come in handy for other, more important actions.

Fishing accessories

Fishing accessories highlight the individual characteristics of the fisherman. Everyone has their favorite tackle, fishing rod, hooks, baubles, and much more. Moreover, the old one can fall into the category of loved ones. cheap spinning, despite the presence of more than one expensive stick. It happens that for some reason you can catch better with old fishing rods. And the fisherman does not want to part with them. Everyone has their own cockroaches in their heads.

The main fishing accessories are fishing rods, rod holders, cages, nets, bait boxes, lures, feeders, stringers, reels, tubes and much more. The composition of these items is selected by each angler individually. It makes no sense to dwell on each subject in detail. It is better to have a sufficient number of boxes and small handbags, cases to pack numerous accessories.

Let's focus on the backpack, rod cover and box.

Fishing backpack

A fishing backpack should be voluminous, 60-80 liters. Roughly speaking, it should fit an average bag of potatoes. Volume is important for walker anglers. They do not know how to drive by car, or they simply could not earn money, so they go fishing by bus or by train.

So, a backpack for such anglers should have 5-6 pockets, and more is possible. The angler's job is to rationally fill these compartments and pockets. So that all the things he needs are correctly laid out. Great option a backpack is a backpack-bag. It opens from the side as well as from the top. Thus, a person gets convenient access to any thing, even if it is stacked from below. Backpack locks must be secure. Seams do not get wet The fabric is tough, does not lose its protective properties after several active fishing seasons.

Cover, tube for fishing rods

Rods are the most valuable items. It is best to transport them in hard cases and special tubes. Don't be lazy, choose the right case for your fishing rods. Up to 4-5 rods can be placed in one cover. It is better to do this in a timely manner, so as not to regret a broken knee later. When buying, pay attention to the locks, material, diameter, as well as the height of the cover or tube. We also try to put it on the shoulder. We select one that is convenient to carry over long distances.

Boxes

Fishermen who come by car often use tackle boxes. And rightly so. You can put all the necessary small items in it: feeders, lures, stringers, floats, sinkers, flashlights, extractors and much more. We have completed the box once, and you know that it contains everything you need for fishing. You should only replenish it in time with some accessories that have become unusable or lost on fishing. For spinners, the best option would be a drawer with pull-out compartments. It is convenient to place baits in them. And for feeders and floaters, boxes with boxes attached on top are better suited, in which hooks, sinkers, swivels, carabiners, etc. are placed.

Tourist inventory

What is useful for an angler? If fishing is supposed to be done without spending the night, then you only need a comfortable chair, a small table for baits. You should also bring a thermal bag if you're fishing in hot weather. It is convenient to store drinks, bait, groundbait and some products in it.

If you plan to fish with an overnight stay, then it is better to take a folding file, or a small hatchet for preparing firewood for a fire, a tent, a sleeping bag, a cloth for wiping your hands, and personal hygiene equipment.

Let's select a tent and a sleeping bag from this set. These accessories are essential for a comfortable sleep. The bag should not let the cold pass, have a special membrane, and fasten well. In it, the fisherman will not freeze even in chilly weather.

The tent folds and unfolds well, does not let moisture inside. Folding arcs do not break and serve for more than one year. The seams on the tent should be well taped to keep moisture out. The material should not deteriorate under the influence of sunlight.

Dishes and food

Needless to say, a minimum set of utensils for an angler is a necessity. This is, first of all, a fork, a spoon, a thermos glass, a knife, a camp burner, a small piece for cutting vegetables, sausages and cheese. Products are selected according to the season. In hot weather, water is relevant. Plenty of water. For one adult, the daily allowance can be 4 liters. In summer, it is better to eat watermelons, fruits, drink cool water. Serious food is best consumed in the morning and evening. In the evening, alcoholic drinks are also appropriate, but in moderation.

It is better to pour tea or coffee into a thermos. A cup of hot drink is a good and proper start on your morning fishing trip. And yes, don't forget the pot for making a fragrant ear from a fresh catch. If you travel by car, then it is easy to take. Agree that it's a nice thing to hold a glass and use a delicious fish soup in nature.

Do not forget salt, pepper, herbs, foil. Foil is needed for baking potatoes with bacon. An excellent snack for strong drinks. Such potatoes go with greens with a bang. But be sure to eat it hot. Cold is not good.

First aid kit

We will definitely take the necessary set of medicines for you. Pain relievers, heart drugs, iodine, brilliant green, bandage, cotton wool, and tourniquet. These things take up a minimum of space. But without them it is sometimes very difficult. It is better to keep them in a neat, soft first aid kit.

Choose the right tackle, but also choose the right equipment, dress accordingly. I am planning a small series of articles about the right choice clothing, fishing equipment in different seasons. Let's start with the summer. For the most part, it is a warm, even hot season, sometimes dry, sometimes rainy.

Clothes for summer fishing ... As you might guess, in summer there are fewer clothes, and there are fewer complaints about it. On a summer day, you can go fishing in shorts, a sleeveless T-shirt and slippers. This is, if mosquitoes do not reach, and you do not have to wade through dense thorny thickets. If there is such a risk, you should wear light jeans or sweatpants, as well as a light cotton shirt with long sleeves. Well, treat open skin areas with mosquito repellent. 😉

Things get a little complicated early morning and late at night. It might be cooler in here. So it's worth taking a windbreaker. When it's hot, it can be tied around a belt or folded into a backpack. Lungs summer windbreakers do not take up much space, but they will warm you during the coolness in the morning and evening dawn.

In the summer, you often encounter rainy weather. If it is a prolonged, intermittent, barely noticeable, drizzling rain - then the same windbreaker will cope! Moreover, this, as a rule, and when removing fish after fish from the hook, you should not sweat too much about a little rain. 😉

But, summer showers are not uncommon ... In a frankly heavy rain, you have to interrupt fishing. At this time, it is worth using a raincoat, oilcloth raincoat to wait out the precipitation. So, such raincoat must be with the angler if he plans to be fishing long enough or has passed an unfavorable weather forecast.

An important characteristic fishing clothes- her color! The fish does not sleep ... Noticing the fisherman - it strains and may refuse to bite, or even washed away (what impudence on its part ...). Of course, it's easier to see a fisherman dressed in bright, variegated colors. So, in order to maintain disguise, the fisherman must dress inconspicuously. These can be khaki colors, camouflage, gray-green-brown shades. This rule must be observed especially when the water is clear and fishing is carried out from relatively shallow depths. Of course, if we jig along the bottom of a 6-7 meter hole or more, then you can even put on a superman suit ... But these are extremes. 😀

Summer Fishing Shoes... If it comes about fishing in the afternoon, in good weather - these are slippers, or you can walk barefoot along the shore. If it is not so hot, there are mosquitoes or the risk of cutting yourself on sedges, it is better to wear lightweight sneakers.

But, on a summer morning on coastal plants, there is often very strong dew. Then you have to dress. At this time, I prefer light samples of military boots, with fabric inserts, which, firstly, make the shoes lighter, and secondly, they allow the foot to breathe, feel more comfortable than in solid leather ankle boots. Despite the small risk of soaking such ankle boots with dew, I would not recommend using closed ankle boots or a tarpaulin in summer, not to mention rubber boots ... It is better to wet the fabric inserts a little. They will dry out faster than walking in frankly uncomfortable shoes.

If the weather is not summer, a cold snap has come - then you should use clothes and equipment for fishing in the off-season(in spring, autumn).

Summer fishing equipment... Of course, a lot depends on the type of tackle and the method of fishing, but there are some points that affect the summer outfit of the fisherman. Let's say such a useful thing as a fishing vest, where a bunch of pockets for boxes with lures and other fishing trivia, is clearly not a summer option. If it's still cold, or especially for short-term fishing at dawn - yes! And in the afternoon - in a vest, you can just mate. So, you have to carry boxes and other utensils in a purse on your belt, in unloading. In any case, in summer you do not collect inventory as much as in cooler times.

Hat, cap- the most important element of fishing equipment in the summer. The cap will protect the angler's head from sunstroke. Also, the visor of the cap will partially cover the face from the sun, which will improve the angler's visual acuity. He will not be blinded by bright rays. And if there is moderate rain (of course, not a rainstorm), the cap will protect you from it too. As with clothing, a fishing hat should be camouflage, gray, green, brown, etc.

It is advisable that the hat is deep enough or has a string so that it is not carried away from the head into the water by a gust of strong wind.

- used by fishermen throughout the open water season. But, it is especially important to use polarics in the summer, when the Sun gives the strongest glare. not only will protect the eyes from the bright sun, like ordinary dark glasses, but also remove glare, revealing to the angler many interesting details of the underwater world. You will see treacherous driftwood, schools of fish, interesting bushes of aquatic vegetation, a lot of things that cannot be seen with the naked eye!

In this article, let's discuss some of the important pieces of equipment and equipment for a carp angler.

Carp landing net. TO the distinctive features of nets specially designed for fishing for carp are, first of all, their sizes, which are usually measured in the English system of measures, namely in inches. The net of the carp net has a triangular shape, and it is customary to give the length of the side of this triangle as its size.

Carp nets typically range in size from 36 to 50 inches (92-127 cm). Another important feature of carp nets is that the net is soft and fine enough to minimize the risk of damage to fish mucous membranes and scales. The standard landing net handle length is 6 feet (1.8 meters).

The handles of high-quality nets are made of carbon fiber and can be made either one-piece or split (usually two-piece). At the butt and near the middle of the handle, a special coating of neoprene or other similar material should be applied to prevent hand slipping. An important part of the net is the mesh attachment point, into which the “mustache” is inserted (high-quality “mustache” is also made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic).

The mounting block should be made of high-quality and durable material, but whether it is metal or plastic is not so important. As mentioned above, the best (and of course the most expensive) is a special attachment point that provides for a quick release of the mesh (such a node is called a fast release system in English sources).

The design of some landing nets provides for the attachment of special luminous elements to them, designed not only to facilitate the process of finding a landing nets at night, but also to help navigate when placing fish in it. In the process of fishing, try to always keep the landing net in one place, this will help you quickly find it at the right time (especially in the dark).

To keep your expensive landing net lasting, always rinse and dry the net well after fishing, and dry the handle dry. Before that, you need to remove the float from the handle (if used) and dry it separately. If this is not done, the water that always remains under the float can spoil the varnish on the net handle.

Carp angler tent. NS Since normal carp fishing lasts several days in a row, it can hardly be comfortable without a special tent. Why special? Beginner anglers are often tempted to purchase an ordinary tourist or camping tent in order to save money.

Camping tents are designed to be carried “on their humps”, so their design provides a number of compromises associated with the maximum possible reduction in weight and transport dimensions of the product. Since the carp angler with all his belongings physically cannot get to the place of fishing “on foot”, any compromises associated with a decrease in the performance of the product are useless to him.

Camping tents are quite spacious, but they are not designed for high-speed landing of their inhabitants when night bite or watching the rods without leaving the tent. The design of special carp tents is designed to meet all the specific requirements arising from multi-day fishing, thereby making it as comfortable as possible.

These tents are designed to accommodate one or two folding beds, a table and numerous equipment inside them. The design and height of the exit allow you to leave the tent as quickly as possible. Let's take a closer look at the characteristics and design features of modern tents. One of the most important characteristics of a tent fabric is its water resistance. It is measured in millimeters of water column.

Minimum water resistance to withstand rain medium strength, - 3000 mm. To be guaranteed to stay dry in heavy rain, the water resistance of the outer layer fabric must be at the level of 5,000 millimeters. Cheap Chinese tents have a water resistance of 1500 millimeters or so, respectively, leaks under prolonged rain, and the fabric of the awning of such tents will quickly deteriorate from ultraviolet radiation.

Therefore, when choosing a carp tent, first of all, pay attention to the water resistance of the fabric of its outer layer and the floor (for the floor, it should be at least 5000, and preferably 10000 millimeters). Next important element tents - frame arches. They are made of plastic, thin duralumin tubes and thick duralumin tubes. The most durable, but at the same time the most expensive option is duralumin pipes.

The plastic is quite heavy (which is not so important) and tends to break (especially when setting up a tent on an uneven surface - and a flat area of the required size in the right place can be found not so often). The choice is yours, but I would recommend not to save money and buy a tent with duralumin arcs. Carp tents are available in single and double layers. I strongly do not recommend single layer.

Firstly, on cold nights, condensation is guaranteed on the inner surface of the tent, which occurs due to the temperature difference inside the shawl and outside it. Believe me, the feeling that occurs when unexpectedly drips onto the face cold water, not pleasant. Secondly, single-layer tents that are not designed for installing an awning, as a rule, are not very well ventilated, as a result of which it is almost impossible to stay inside them in hot weather.

In tents, the delivery set of which includes an awning, the inner layer is completely or partially made of mosquito nets, which contributes to their good ventilation. Another point that should be guided when choosing a tent is its internal dimensions. You need to immediately determine how many people should be able to sleep comfortably in a tent (one or two).

Before buying, it is better to assemble the tent and estimate how one (or two) folding beds will become in it, whether there will be room for a table and things. The next important characteristic is the height of the tent exit. The larger it is, the easier it is to jump out of the tent quickly (it is also desirable that there is a possibility of installing a transparent exit, then you can see the shore without leaving the tent).

At the same time, the higher the tent, the more windage it has and, accordingly, the more durable the frame (arcs), as well as more careful installation (rope guides, screw pegs) it requires. You should also pay attention to the structure of the tent floor. The floor can be sewn in or detachable.

The advantage of the built-in tent is that the tent is practically airtight for the penetration of rodents, reptiles and insects. The disadvantage is that it is difficult to wash. The detachable floor gives an additional advantage - in hot weather it is not possible to put it down at all, which is very convenient and comfortable (cool).

Therefore, if trips to, say, the Volga are not planned, I would recommend the detachable floor as more convenient and practical to use. Another very important characteristic of a tent is the time it takes to set up and dismantle it. Before buying, ask to assemble the tent in the store and estimate the time it took. If even a very good tent takes 30-40 minutes to set up, think about whether you need it?

Cot. NS This element of the carp angler's equipment usually brings smiles to the representatives of other directions fishing... Let them laugh - they do not spend several days in a row on the shore of the reservoir. To paraphrase the well-known slogan of humorists, I would say this: a clamshell is not only comfort, but also your health.

First, lying on a cot puts you much farther from the ground than when using a camping mat or air mattress, which increases your chances of avoiding a cold, or (God forbid) chilling your lower back. Secondly, even after several nights in a row, spent in a cot, your back will not hurt, which is likely to happen after spending the night on an uneven surface.

In addition, by placing low things under the folding bed, you can significantly save space inside the scarf. One of the main design characteristics of a clamshell is the number of rows of its supports (legs), which can be from two to four. The more rows of supports, the stronger the cot and, therefore, the heavier carp angler it can handle painlessly.

In addition, if you try to sit on the edge of a two-support clamshell, it will simply turn over. All clamshell legs have independent height adjustment, which makes it stable on almost any surface. At the ends of the legs there are special large-diameter washers to prevent the legs from falling into soft ground

In the lower part of the clamshell there are inserts made of easy-to-clean fabric. A very convenient design feature of carp folding beds is a special swivel block, with the help of which the angle of inclination of their head part is changed. It also makes it easy to transform the cot into a chair that you can take out into the air and comfortably observe the pond.

The durability of a clamshell is largely determined by the quality of the materials used in the turning unit and the success of its design, as well as the quality of the fabric with which it is finished. For the convenience of transporting clamshells, special cases with convenient carrying handles are available.

Chair or armchair. O This is a very useful thing on long fishing trips, which allows you to avoid the burdensome need to pull the cot out of the tent every day and drag it in again, as well as to transform it from the cot into a chair and back. Companies specializing in carp angling equipment produce a wide variety of chairs and armchairs designed to accommodate different user weights and are equipped with a variety of design amenities.

When choosing a chair, you should pay attention to almost the same design features as when choosing a folding bed. It is important that the load for which the chair is designed, declared by the manufacturer, slightly exceeds the weight of the carp angler, so that the height of all legs is adjusted, that the legs are equipped with large-diameter supports, so that the fabric of the chair is easy to clean and is strong enough, the angle of the backrest must be adjusted using a reliable the swivel block, the back should be high enough. But the presence of armrests, in my opinion, is a controversial advantage.

Sleeping bag. T Much like tents (and mostly for the same reasons), touring sleeping bags are not very well suited for carp fishing. A specialized sleeping bag will not only give you more comfort, but also allow you to leave it much faster if necessary.

The inner layer of carp angler sleeping bags is usually made of fleece, while the outer layer is made of easy-to-clean waterproof breathable fabric. In such a bag, you can sleep in the open, without fear of waking up wet from the abundant dew.

TO design features sleeping bags for carp anglers should be attributed to the special elements of their attachment to the cots, which allows you to quickly jump out of the sleeping bag without knocking it off the cot (which is especially important when spending the night outdoors after rain, when it is dirty around). What long throw and what gear is needed for this you will find out -

Some models are equipped with removable built-in cushions. In addition, the overall dimensions of the sleeping bags are precisely matched to the dimensions of the folding beds. Sleeping bags for carp anglers come in different thicknesses and densities, designed for different ambient temperatures (the warmest ones are often marked all season or 5 season).

Side table. You will need at least one table to ensure proper conditions for making your rigs and eating. You can purchase an ordinary tourist but specialized (although it costs a little more) it has a number of advantages: legs with independent height adjustment and large-diameter supports, a side along the edge, preventing endless searches for tools or equipment components that have rolled off the table or blown off by the wind.

Gas-burner. H A necessary thing for carp fishing, which allows you not only to cook hot food and drinks, but also irreplaceable in the manufacture of almost all leashes (for shrinking shrink tubes and leveling rigid leash materials) and preparing the grain components of the bait.

There are several types of burners: screwed directly onto the fuel cylinder, with legs and a hose for connecting the cylinder, with the cylinder connected (in a horizontal position) directly to the side of the burner and in the form of one or many hotplates.
The advantage of burners screwed directly onto the gas cylinder is their low price.

But I would not recommend using them due to their extremely low stability - by turning over a boiling kettle, you will not only be forced to start the whole process of preparing boiling water from the beginning, but you can also burn your feet, which will hopelessly ruin further fishing.

Hose-connected burners, in my opinion, represent a reasonable compromise between price, size and ease of use, especially in combination with a special wind shield. Tile burners have the best performance and absolute stability.

The price to pay for this is their increased dimensions, weight and cost. Any burner will be made more convenient in operation by the presence of a piezo ignition, which makes it possible to do without matches and a lighter. There are a huge number of burner models of various prices and quality on the market. From the point of view of their reasonable combination, I would single out the products of the Korean company Kovea.

When operating gas burners, observe simple rules security:

  • when installing the burner directly on the ground, select an area without dry grass, away from dry sedges and other flammable substances, otherwise you risk turning from anglers to firefighters;
  • when using a torch with a hose, move the cylinder away from the torch to the full length of the hose;
  • if during operation the burner with a remote cylinder is in the sun, cover it with a piece of light-colored cloth;
  • after use, put the burner in the shade as soon as it has cooled down.

Head Torch. NS Since carp fish do not stop (and often even activate) at night, they cannot do without a headlamp. Currently, there are a huge number of models of LED flashlights on the market, both produced by specialized firms and sold under the brand name of well-known fishing brands.

And of course there is a large selection of Chinese products from "no-name" manufacturers. When choosing a flashlight, it should be borne in mind that the primitive electronics of cheap models does not allow full use of the energy of the batteries. Distinctive feature such flashlights is a gradual decrease in the brightness of their glow as the batteries are discharged.

More expensive models equipped with “smart” electronics not only allow using the energy of the batteries, which is called to the end, but also maintain a stable glow brightness throughout the life of the batteries (and the LEDs are installed in them more economical). According to the method of attachment, the flashlights are divided into two types: baseball caps attached to the visor or worn directly on the user's head.

Recently, there are even flashlights built into the baseball cap on sale. Models for baseball caps are very light and compact, but due to the fact that, with rare exceptions, they are powered by very compact batteries, they do not work from one set of them for a long time. And it is not always possible to buy such batteries urgently. In addition, on a cold night, wearing a baseball cap may not feel completely comfortable.

Models that are worn on the head are structurally monoblock and two-piece. In two-unit models, the batteries are placed in a separate unit attached to the back of the head. It is very convenient to walk in such a flashlight, since its weight is symmetrically distributed on the head. But for the specific conditions of carp fishing, such flashlights are not very suitable.

First, when trying to sit in a chair with high back tilt your head back, the unit with the batteries presses very unpleasantly on the back of the head. Secondly, in anticipation of a bite, you often have to sleep without removing the flashlight, in this case the block attached to the back of your head makes it very difficult to sleep on your back. Many (especially cheap Chinese) flashlight models have many unnecessary modes that can be switched by repeatedly pressing a button.

This is very inconvenient, since in order to turn off such a flashlight, you need to press the button several times. A waterproof version of the flashlight will be useful in fishing conditions. At the same time, a flashlight worn on the head is very inconvenient to use in conjunction with a baseball cap (its visor prevents the beam of light from reaching where it needs to be).

Therefore, the best choice, perhaps, is a monoblock flashlight powered by AAA cells, equipped with “smart” electronics and economical water-resistant LEDs. The leaders in the production of such products are specialized firms, for example, Petzl or Black Diamond.

And for warm nights, it is advisable to purchase a flashlight with a baseball cap on the visor, powered by AAA elements. Whichever flashlight you choose, make sure to always have a set of batteries in stock, as they tend to "sit down" at the most inopportune moment.

Backpack. In the overwhelming majority of cases, carp anglers get to the fishing spot by private transport. It would seem, why do you need a backpack? The fact is that it is not always possible to drive a car directly to the place of fishing, sometimes it has to be left at a distance of a hundred or more meters.

In this case, a roomy backpack will not only allow you to carry significantly more things in one trip, but also make the process much less tedious than dragging a large number of bags and bags. You can purchase both a specialized backpack produced by carp companies and a regular tourist one.

The main thing is that it is roomy enough (it is desirable that the volume of the backpack is at least one hundred liters), made of sufficiently durable materials (for example, from Cordura fabric) and with the use of high-quality fittings (for example, Nexus).

Since this series of articles is designed exclusively for beginner anglers, I deliberately did not consider some "advanced" items of equipment (for example, a shelter or an umbrella), which carp anglers usually "grow" with after accumulating experience, limiting themselves only to those without which it is really difficult for carp fishing dispense with and which we did not talk about in previous articles.

Many novice fishermen neglect the preparation for fishing, which negatively affects its results. In our case, preparation includes:

selection of comfortable clothing and footwear appropriate for the season;

selection of gear, accessories, baits and bait;

rigging of the boat (if necessary);

purchase of means against "bloodsuckers": mosquitoes and other insects (without them in the early morning and late evening in any way);

selection of medicines for first aid;

planning of travel, rest and meals.

Useful advice: if you are going to learn all the delights of fishing for the first time, then make a list of necessary things, accessories necessary to ensure fishing. Keep in mind that a long-awaited fishing trip can be disappointing even because of the smallest detail, including the lack of equipment.

Fishing is not fun if your clothes are not suitable for the weather. Even a good bite will not alleviate the discomfort of rain and lack of a raincoat.

The fisherman's clothing and footwear is determined by the season, location and conditions of fishing. Ideally, a fisherman's clothing should be both functional and comfortable. Moreover, it must correspond to the normal functioning of the body in certain conditions.

From year to year, special equipment for extreme conditions... It is made from special modern materials, fabrics and on the basis of the latest technical achievements.

Clothes and footwear specially designed for anglers- this is the guarantor of the exclusion of the likelihood of slipping on ice, getting wet feet, hypothermia, sunstroke, chapping of mucous membranes, getting wet and other moments that negatively affect health.

Naturally, there should be comfortable and reliable shoes. It should be able to provide trouble-free long hikes, withstand active fishing. Mandatory requirements for shoes: dryness, comfort.

Summer outfit

The main requirements for summer equipment: good ventilation, adequate heat dissipation.

Advice: Avoid clothing that is tight and that prevents moisture from evaporating.

Range of summer hobby fisherman clothes: jackets from natural materials, shirts (models that do not refuel are in priority), trousers, light hats. It is important that the clothes are loose. Otherwise, you will be sweating profusely. In this case, the shirt, trousers will stick to the body. Naturally, you can forget about a comfortable stay.

Give preference to light-colored clothing. At the same time, remember, overly bright colors scare away fish. cautious species... Experienced fishermen say that the fish is very afraid of the pure white color. Opt for green, gray clothing that blends in with the coastal vegetation.

Heatstroke or sunburn can occur in summer. In order to prevent overheating, burns under the rays of the sun, clothes should not be open.

Despite the fact that in summer the weather is usually warm, you need to take a raincoat with you when fishing, which will replace a storm jacket. For fishing with entry into the water, you must use special wading rubber boots. In this regard, the right solution would be a rubberized overalls.

Sunglasses and even a simple visor of the cap will protect against sunbeams, which greatly spoil the eyesight.

To avoid mosquitoes or midges, you must have mosquito net ... Additionally, open areas of the body can be lubricated with anise oil or grated green walnuts, avoiding contact with the eyes.

Winter outfit

In winter, you need to dress warmly, but at the same time, clothes and shoes should not hinder movement. There are a lot of options for clothes and shoes, but each one, taking into account its capabilities and physical condition solves this problem himself. The main thing is that the angler likes it and is safe to wear.

Sheepskin coats and jackets are a thing of the past. At one time they were irreplaceable. Today they are irrelevant, since special clothing for fishing has appeared on sale, which is distinguished by a minimum weight. A variety of belts, cuffs, warm jackets with comfortable collars and hoods are just the beginning of the list of things for anglers. An approximate set of clothing for ice fishing consists of warm linen (alternative - thermal underwear), sweaters, insulated trousers (better choice stop on a warm overalls), warm long jacket covering the lumbar region. Long and warm raincoat with a hood.

This is important to know: sweating is one of the reasons for the rapid freezing of a winter fishing angler and, accordingly, back ailments and colds.

The fisherman's outer winter clothing should have convenient pockets and compartments designed to store all kinds of fishing little things.

In winter, you can't do without mittens or gloves. With their presence, the hands of the fisherman will not be afraid of frost, moisture, wind, snow. There are many winter gloves on the market that are similar to both mittens and classic gloves. They do not need to be removed when attaching the bait, tying the tackle ...

We must not forget that you will have to be on the ice for a long time, and therefore, in order to protect your feet from hypothermia, special insulated fishing boots will help. You can opt for felt boots with deep galoshes. For winter fishing it is also better to have modern thermal socks not knitted "grandmother's" socks.
