Mounting for a reel for a fishing rod. How to choose a spinning reel? Best cheap rating

After purchasing a spinning rod and all others essential elements it is also necessary to properly prepare the tackle for fishing. One of the main stages of preparation is setting up the spinning reel. If you take it lightly, then fishing will not bring the desired pleasure and will not give the desired result. The fishing process will be much more difficult than we would like. Therefore, after purchasing it, it is better to read the setup instructions or ask experienced anglers about it.

Installing the reel on the rod

How to install a reel on a rod

First of all, after purchasing a reel, it must be installed on a spinning rod. It is not difficult to do this, and even a beginner who previously had nothing to do with fishing will cope with the task.

The installation procedure is as follows:

  1. The mount is unscrewed;
  2. The coil is inserted into the holder on the blank handle;
  3. The ring is tightening, which should pinch the base of the coil.

You need to tighten the fastener tightly, but not very tightly. If you overdo it, the thread may break. During fishing, the holder may loosen slightly, so it is recommended to constantly monitor this moment and, if necessary, re-tighten the fasteners.

Winding the line to the reel

How to wind the line

The next step is to wind the line on the spool. It is important to perform all actions correctly so that in the future the tackle does not let you down when playing the prey.

The line is wound in the following order:

  1. First, you need to pull the line through the guides on the spinning rod. You need to start from the tip of the rod and stretch it from the smallest ring to the largest;
  2. When the line is passed through the last ring, it must be tied to the spool. To do this, you need to remove the bow of the line laying machine and use a self-tightening knot to tie it to the spool. The strength of such a knot is very high, and under loads it will tighten even more. After tying, the protruding end is cut off;
  3. Now you can start winding the line directly onto the spool. It is better to do this with a partner, but if no one is around, you can do it yourself. To do this, you can put the skein in your pocket, and pass the line between the fingers of the hand holding the spinning rod. The other hand will rotate the reel handle. During winding, the line should be in a state of slight tension. Do not hold it too tightly, as this can cause tangling, knots, or uneven winding. During the process itself, it is recommended not to stop and constantly monitor it;
  4. When about 1.5-2 mm remains from the line to the edges of the spool, winding should be stopped. This distance is considered optimal and safe. If the line is larger, it can slide off the reel, and if it is less, then during the casting it will rub against the sides, which will negatively affect the unwinding and flight range of the bait. In addition, tangles and knots can form.

It is recommended to do an idle cast after fishing. This will help dry the line and rewind it well on the spool. When the bait is in the water, the rod should be placed perpendicular to the ground and slowly rotated the handle until the line is completely reeled.

This winding method is just one of many. There are now special devices, designed to facilitate the winding process, but if this is not planned to be done constantly, then its acquisition will not make sense.

It is also possible to complete this process without placing the reel on the spinning rod. In this case, the cord is first wound on it, after which, in the finished state, the coil is installed in its rightful place.

Clutch setting

Spinning reel adjustment plays at least important role than the previous steps. When done correctly, the risk of breaking the line or breaking the rod during loading is minimized. It will also be much easier to deal with large specimens. predatory fish.

With a properly adjusted friction, the line will gradually bleed off the spool under heavy loads. Due to this, strong jerks of the fish will be damped by the coil. The fisherman will spend less strength for playing, and the risk of damage to the tackle will be minimized.

The clutch can be front or rear. In new models, the first option is mainly used.

It needs to be adjusted so that it can handle slightly less stress than the line. For example, if the tensile strength of the cord is 7 kg, then the friction should be set to about 5 kg. So, during the fight with a 7-kilogram individual, the fishing line will be lowered during jerking, and as a result, it will give in to a lesser load.

Most often, to adjust the clutch, weights of a certain weight are used, which cling to the end of the cord. Experienced fishermen do it in a different way, being directly on the pond.

To make the setting, the tackle is fully brought into working condition. With the hook of the bait, the fishing line catches on a stationary object, such as a tree.

Then you should step back a little from the place of the hook and take a position, as when playing big booty... When the rod is bent and the line is taut as much as possible, the friction clutch is released to the ratchet. After that, the adjustment can be considered complete.

It is important not to load it too much while pulling the fishing line, otherwise it may come off, and the spinning rod may break. In this case, instead of fish, you can only get a broken tackle.

As you can see, there is nothing difficult in preparing tackle for fishing. The main thing is to read the recommendations before setting up a spinning reel in order to do everything efficiently and not damage the components of the tackle.

Whatever the purpose of fishing, the main thing in it is the catch, and in order for it to be successful, you need to know well how to assemble a fishing rod with a reel. The scheme for doing this work is simple, but only knowing it can you succeed in fishing. People fell in love with fishing back in the stone times, when everyone was a breadwinner, and the main objective such an occupation was to bring the catch into the house. However, now spending time near a pond with fishing rods for someone is an opportunity to relax, for others it is a sport or a hobby.

Right assembled rod- the guarantee of a good catch.

The classic version of the fishing rod consists of the following components:
  • rods;
  • coils;
  • cargo;
  • fishing line;
  • hook;
  • float.

Some fishermen save on purchasing a reel by replacing it with a reel. However, in the modern market, there are so many such goods and at various prices that anyone can find tackle for themselves. All the necessary equipment must be purchased before properly assembling the rod.

The following types of rods are used to assemble reel rods:
  1. Flywheel rod used in small bodies of water.
  2. Bolognese rod, the most comfortable for beginners.
  3. Match rod designed for long distance casting.
  4. Plug-in rod.

Coils can be inertial or non-inertial. The first type is the budget version and is more suitable for fishing over cliffs, and not for casting into the distance.

The most important thing when using an inertial reel is to remember to snap the catch, otherwise line tangling is inevitable.

The second type of reel is great for long distance casts. They are suitable for different types fishing rods and spinning rods and have many additional features to make fishing easier.

Reel rods are more practical and interesting to use, since they are not limited in the distance at which the bait can be cast. We will assemble the rod correctly if it has several guides so that the line can pass through them.

To assemble a float rod with a reel, you need to follow these steps:
  1. When the rod is selected, the reel is attached to it first. Usually for this, it has a built-in holder, if the rod is not homemade, but a purchased one. And in the case when it is made with your own hand, the coil is mounted with glue or electrical tape. There are no strict rules about how far from the rod end to attach the reel. Each fisherman determines a place for her according to his preferences.
  2. The next step is to wind the line onto the spool by removing the coiled line from the spool and placing it on the spool.
  3. Then the line is threaded through all the guide rings, starting with the lowest one and ending with the top one.
  4. The line is equipped with a float and a sinker. Most floats are equipped with special mountings to facilitate this step. In this case, the main thing is not to tie it too tightly, because it should be easily regulated, while not slipping when casting.
  5. The sinker must be chosen depending on the preferences of the fisherman and the characteristics of the reservoir. If in the river strong current, do not mount a large weight, since then the float will sink under the waves. Fishing rod sinkers are made of lead.
  6. The final step is tying the hook. This step is performed using one of the special fishing knots, which are simple and reliable.

Consult your specialist store for more information on how to assemble a rod and reel. Schemes and additional instructions are also provided separately for each fishing product.

Most predatory fish of impressive size are well caught on spinning. Such fishing is notable for its simplicity, but requires a lot of tackle. A beginner angler who does not know how to properly rig a spinning rod may get confused when choosing a rig, which is sold in large quantities by fishing shops. In our article we will tell you how to assemble a spinning tackle correctly, which will be very useful for beginners in fishing.

How to make spinning?

Spinning tackle includes a rod to which a reel with line and special equipment or bait are attached. All components must be correctly selected and assembled. Otherwise, there may be problems in the operation of the rod.

Rod

A spinning rod for catching predatory fish should have the following characteristics:

Experienced spinning anglers advise using spinning reels. There are also multiplier ones on sale, but they have insufficient sensitivity and closeness of casting.

Coil specifications:

It is best to buy a device from trusted sellers from well-known manufacturers who can guarantee Good work coils.

Fishing line

When hunting with a spinning rod, you can use a regular monofilament fishing line or braid. Mono lines are mostly soft and elastic, so when using them, the bite is not felt very much. The fact that the fish is on the hook can be seen by the twitching of the line.

The advantages of the mono line:

  • practically does not twist;
  • does not form beards;
  • fits well on the spool.

When using braided lines, the bite and wiring are more sensitive. It is recommended to choose rigid braids, since they have an increased sensitivity of the spinning rod.

Braiding advantages:

  • the structure of the cord is stronger than monofilament and fluorocarbon fishing line;
  • under heavy loads, it does not lose elasticity and does not stretch, which allows the tackle to be used many times;
  • has excellent sensitivity to bites;
  • unlike monofilament line, it does not break under heavy loads.

The best diameter for a braided spinning cord is 0.12-0.15 mm.

Leash

When hunting for predatory fish, a leash is required. This is explained by the fact that a pike or other predator can easily cut through the main line with its sharp teeth.

Leash types:

Bait

When assembling a spinning rod, a wide variety of lures are used.

How to assemble a spinning rod?

Having bought and prepared all the tackle for assembly, first of all, you should attach the reel to the rod. To do this, the mount is unscrewed on the handle, and the reel is inserted into the reel seat. The mount will need to be fastened more tightly, otherwise the reel may fly out when casting.

Line winding

A fishing line is wound on a reel attached to the spinning rod. It's pretty simple to do this:

Connection of line and leader

Leashes can be tied to the line using an ordinary fishing knot. It is done as follows:

  • the fishing line is inserted into the swivel, the eye of which is scrolled with your fingers 7 or 8 times;
  • a loop is obtained into which the free end of the fishing line is threaded;
  • the knot is tightened.

The swivel and carabiner are devices that protect the line from twisting. It is especially recommended to use them if spinners will be used as bait. The carabiner has a fastener, which allows you to quickly change lures during fishing. The swivel prevents the line from twisting, thereby facilitating the installation of the spinning rod and its casting, as well as increasing the service life of the line.

Installation of baits

There are many ways to connect lures to a spinning rod. It all depends on the type of bait itself. Silicone baits easiest to tie with a jig head. Hook head load can be of different shapes and weight categories... The weight of the load and the size of the hook are selected depending on the length of the bait and the depth of the reservoir.

Types of equipment for spinning

There are several spinning rigs:

  1. Direct connection of the lure with the swivel.
  2. The lure with a swivel is connected with a steel or other strong leash that cannot be bitten by the sharp teeth of a predator.
  3. Sbirulino allows you to cast light baits, as it is a heavy float.
  4. A drop shot is a specific type of rig used to fish from a steep bank or boat.
  5. The diverting leash is used to lure and catch a predator in the bottom zone.

Tackle for spinning with a spoon:

If spinning with a feeder, then the following gear is selected:

  • for reservoirs without a current, the test load of the rod can be from 40 to 60 g, for fast rivers from 100 to 1400;
  • you can use ordinary fishing line or line, the thickness of which depends on the size of the prey;
  • the reel can be inertial or non-inertial, but it must necessarily contain at least 100 meters of line;
  • obligatory use of leashes with a carabiner;
  • the feeder is both a bait and a sinker;
  • bite alarm in the form of a bell during the day and a firefly at night.

Spinning rules

The assembled spinning rod should be checked again before casting and make sure that all parts of the rig are well connected to each other. Now you can cast the bait by holding the line with your index finger and at the same time with the other hand removing the restraining arc on the reel. After that, the rod is brought back and thrown sharply forward towards the place where the fish may be. In this case, the finger is removed and the lek is released. Casting can be done in another way, since everyone has their own technique.

After casting with the help of a spinning rod, the bait is wired downstream or against it. If the casting will be made from the shore, then so that the spoon is not carried to the side, the rod is lowered closer to the water. If the predator is caught from a boat, and the stream moves towards, then you need to do so that the bait swam faster than water. In the supposed habitats of predatory fish, spoons and wobblers need to be carried out more carefully.

Predators live mainly on steep shores, capes, sunken logs, large pitfalls. Having correctly assembled a spinning rod with high-quality tackle, having discovered the habitat of the fish and carefully conducting the wiring, you will definitely return home with the catch.

How to reel fishing line

For good fishing and trophy catch, all spinning elements must be of high quality and properly balanced, and, of course, you need to know how to wind the line on the reel correctly. You should carefully choose the rod itself, as well as all the equipment for it, otherwise it can fail you more than once and cause a lot of trouble. And of course, Special attention it is worth paying attention to how to properly wind the fishing line on the reel so that knots do not form and, for example, the inertial reel functioned properly without jambs. Winding the line to the reel affects many of the characteristics of the rod, including the casting distance of the tackle, as well as the chance of beards appearing. But many beginners do not betray this value and make unforgivable mistakes. What is and what should not be done and how to wind the braid on a reel?

Any good fishing begins with quality preparation, including how to properly wind the braid on the spool.

Among the highlights you should keep an eye out for:

  1. How much line will fit on a spinning reel at all before winding the reel. Many beginners wonder how much line to reel? and the answer to it is prosaic - enough. The entire coil must be covered with it so that you have enough length for long casts, but "slides" should be avoided, because they can lead to not the most pleasant consequences.
  2. With what force the rig is wound on the reel, especially when the line is wound on the spool, where the tension force is very important. If you overdo it, winding the line on the reel, then you will not be able to make good long casts, the tackle simply will not be able to overcome the resistance. The easiest way to control this is the old-fashioned way - wind the line with two fingers, without aids.
  3. Determine if you are winding the line on the reel in the right direction. The bobbins rotate both counterclockwise and clockwise, but their direction must always match the winding direction. If you notice an oversight, barely having time to tie the knot, then a couple of rotations of the rig will help to rewind everything to its original position.

It is also important how you tie the knot around the reel, this aspect should in no case be omitted carelessly, otherwise the tackle may simply go to the bottom along with the line when fishing for large fish. You should dwell in more detail on how the fishing line is wound from a reel, because there are also some nuances here. It is better if you wind the line on the reel, in this case there will be several people, one of whom will hold the reel, and the second - the rod and the reel. One of the nuances of how to properly wind the fishing line from a reel is to use an oblong object, be it an ordinary stick or even a pen.

Such a device is inserted into the reel itself, after which the second person begins to spin the tackle on the rod until the desired length is reached. Be careful when winding the line around the spool.

If you need to properly tuck the fishing line, and you do not have a partner, then you can use the same stick stuck in the ground, or any other object where you can plant the reel. If you decided to fill the line into the reel before fishing, then a regular doorknob or even a handle from a carpenter's vice will do. The main thing is to watch how the reel is wound on the spinning rod so that no knots or “partings” are formed, which can lead to entanglement of the tackle. You should also choose the type of reel for the fish that you want to catch, because inertial ones are better for some, and some species are easier to fish out with inertial ones.

Correct winding occurs when one end of the tackle is secured to the spool itself. To do this, it is enough to slightly raise the line guide and hold the rig to the spool itself, and here it is important to know how to tie the line to the spool correctly. Make a small loop and put it on the spool, then tighten and check the strength of the structure and whether the line has been threaded correctly. When using an ordinary fishing rod, it is enough to tie a simple knot on the reel itself. And on the spinning reel, you should already put on the tackle according to the method described above. Also, be careful when using the reel as you wind the line carefully, giving it a slight tension. Such a scheme will allow you to easily make even the longest casts.

Another important nuance in how to wind the cord is the speed of rotation of the tackle.

But how does the process of winding the braid on a reel generally take place, how to fix the fishing line and how many meters of fishing line should you take with you on a fishing trip in case of emergency? And how to set the gear correctly?

To do everything right, you must first fix the line on the spinning reel, just thread it into the spool, as described above. You can attach the tackle to this part different ways by directing the knot in any direction, it all depends on the preferences of each particular fisherman. Beginners sometimes rewind everything several times because of an error at this stage, and even for a braid, the usual "noose" is suitable. We put this knot on the spool, after which you can start putting on the bobbin, as long as there is enough space at the spool. This stage is called breaking - the moment when you start winding the tackle on the reel and many beginners do not calculate the amount of line.

This leaves large voids near one of the edges, which they try to fix with uneven winding and start tying tape to distribute the rig. However, in the heat, the polymer base can simply melt, which completely ruins all your hopes of a successful catch. Replacing the wrong tape can be done with regular fishing clips or with small knots on the rig itself, which will restrict its movement in the reel, which in turn minimizes slipping. In this case, you should be patient, because even an experienced fisherman says the following: "Sometimes I put the line on new reels 2-3 times until it seems to me that I did it perfectly ...".

If you do not want unnecessary trouble when trying to load a new braid, then stick to these foundations:

  1. First secure the reel to the rod, and when tying the line knot, check that it is firmly seated. After all, some people first knit the knots, wind the tackle and only then attach all the equipment together to the rod, which is a gross mistake. When we stretch the braid without a rod, it can create beards and get tangled, and it also becomes coiled during subsequent casts.
  2. To wind up easily and comfortably, you need a companion. Otherwise, you are unlikely to be able to give the required tension, and no matter how you stretch the tackle in this case, you will not be able to avoid dismounts. Therefore, the option when your friend holds the reel, and you fishing rod- is best suited for this situation.
  3. When all the tackle is installed, make sure again that you were able to evenly lay the line on the spool, while the distance from both edges to the filled part should not exceed a couple of millimeters.

Most mistakes beginners can make when we "thread" the line to the spool and then tie a knot. Therefore, thread it several times and experiment not only with the noose, but also with other fastening variations, this will allow you to find the most convenient one for you personally.

As fishing methods differ depending on the type of reel, so the method of winding can be different depending on the usual or inertial tackle.

So, it should be noted that:

  1. Spinning reels do not have a spool, so insert the line onto the rim itself and simply secure it with a regular nautical knot.
  2. Putting on a line on a rod with an inertial reel is quite simple and there are no nuances here, because this type of tackle is considered the most common.
  3. Baitcasting reels are even better, because you just need to tie one knot, and styling will go like clockwork. The line is passed along such a rod quite simply, and there are no large gaps left.

Experiment and find the most convenient combinations specifically for your needs.

How to make sure the reel is firmly attached to the rod.
6 - little tricks (or tips).

Most modern fishing gear uses a rod / reel pair. The ease of control of the entire tackle depends on how stable and reliably these elements are connected, and therefore the success of the fishing itself.
Most often on rods different types you can see the screw reel seats. Their device is simple and reliable enough, but at the same time they differ in the location of the running nut, which presses the profile ring, which holds the spool foot on one side. Its "lower" location is recognized as classic, when the nut is on the reel seat tube closer to the butt of the rod. This is the design of the reel seat that most rods of American and European manufacturers have, which are designed for fishing with spinning, feeder and match tackle with a spinning reel. Japanese rod manufacturers often prefer the original bright design and install more ergonomic reel seats on the same rods, taking into account the anatomy of the human hand. In these designs, the travel nut is located at the front. The principle of fastening the reel in both designs is the same, but when using the rod in tandem with the reel, the “classic” is somewhat inferior in convenience to the “ergonomics”. This is especially true for rods that are constantly held in the hand during fishing: spinning rods, partly match rods and somewhat less often feeder rods, which are much more likely to stand on stands, as well as carp rods. With the correct grip of the rod by hand, the rack spinning reel runs between the index and middle fingers (sometimes in front of the index). Accordingly, almost the entire "classic" reel seat is in the palm of your hand, and its finned nut either rests on the edge of the palm, or is covered by the little finger. This does not cause any particular inconvenience - millions of anglers quickly get used to such a grip. But with all the manipulations with the rod - casting, hooking, and especially when laying the bait and playing fish - the running nut inevitably weakens a little and the reel starts to "walk" in the seat. By itself, this "sin" is small, but the constant tightening of the running nut is annoying, distracting from the fishing process, and in some cases can lead to failure of the reel seat. Front nut designs, which are often framed in a noble cork or practical neoprene, are less susceptible to arbitrary loosening, since the palm and fingers of the holding hand do not touch this part during operation with the rod. But even in them, with significant backlash on the thread of plastic (as a rule) parts, the coil fastening sometimes looses. Excessive tightening of the nut in both reel seat designs not only does not help the case, but threatens:

Breakage of threads on parts;
jamming the fastening ring on the spool foot;
cracking of the nut rim made of natural cork.

The consequence of this is the termination of fishing and the subsequent difficult repair of the WHOLE rod.
All this can be prevented or minimized by using the little tricks below.

❶ - It is useful to wrap the spool nut of the "classic" layout with a band of medical adhesive tape 18 mm wide after installing the coil. By grabbing the nut with a part of the thread on the reel seat tube with a plaster, you will at once get rid of both its self-loosening and abrasions on the palm of your hand. It is especially convenient to make such a winding if the reel stays on the rod for a long time, for example, when fishing on vacation. Unlike PVC electrical tape, the adhesive from the plaster can be easily removed with ordinary vodka.

❷ - Often the cause of self-loosening is too much play between the drive nut and the reel seat tube. This can be eliminated by winding a narrow thin tape directly onto the tube thread in one layer. The winding must be laid with force so that the threads remain embossed, and only in the place where the nut will be after the coil is installed in place.

❸ - The main reason for arbitrary loosening of the nut of a screw reel seat of any type is the absence of an elastic element in the system. It is easy to make up for this if you put on the ends of the spool legs of suitable lengths of PVC cambric or (which is better) heat shrink tubing. The easiest way to squeeze it in the shape of the foot is by dipping it in boiling water. After such a procedure, the coil is very tightly in place, and its branded paint coating will not be scratched even by all-metal clamping rings.

❹ - Sometimes the fly reel also starts to dangle in the reel seat during fishing, especially if its foot is not attached to a rigid tube, but to a fragile insert made of natural cork. This is fraught with scuffs on the cork and pushing through its surface, which greatly weakens the reel attachment and spoils an expensive rod. And here the tape of adhesive plaster will help out, stick it directly on the cork under the foot of the reel - the fastening will be much more reliable, and the cork insert will retain its original appearance longer. The same assistance can be provided for light class spinning rods, which usually have the same cork insert in the reel seat.

❺ - If the coil is jammed between the fastening rings, and the nut does not turn away, you should not use excessive force, all the more to grasp the fragile plastic with addiction with all sorts of handy "graspers" - pliers, pliers, etc. Just drop a little clean into the thread and onto the spool foot kerosene (in the field - vodka) and after 35 minutes, gripping the nut tightly with your hand in a household rubber glove, unscrew it with little effort. After that, wipe all parts with a clean cloth and put the rod and reel in the covers.

❻ - As a preventive measure against reel jamming, always after fishing, remove dirt from the reel foot and reel seat (especially carefully - from the thread), which inevitably forms during fishing. Fish slime, bait particles and baits magically attract sand, which can wear away threads on plastic and metal parts of the reel seat in less than one season. And replacing it is a rather troublesome and expensive business.

Today, fishing with a float rod is very popular. This fishing requires special equipment, which must be prepared in advance. The float rod is one of the simplest tackle and is available at its cost. The fishing rod consists of a rod, a fishing line with a float, a reel, a sinker and a hook with a bait.

The success of fishing with a float rod lies in high-quality equipment. If the tackle is heavy, rough and inconvenient to handle, then the angler quickly gets tired and fishing becomes uninteresting. Such a rod can be a cause of failure, especially for novice anglers. The rod should be light and comfortable.

The float rod can be used to fish most freshwater fish, the main thing is to pick up the right hook and bait. According to the results of fishing, the float rod is still not inferior to any other fishing tackle... Fishing with this rod is good both from the shore and from the boat. A properly equipped fishing rod is already a guarantee of victory when capturing the coveted trophy.

The rig consists of a rod, reel, line, float, sinker, hook.

Algorithm for rigging a float rod

  1. A small reel is attached to the rod. If the rod is without a reel, the line will be attached to the tip of the rod.
  2. The line reeled from the reel is passed through the rings, from the closest to the reel to the very last ring at the tip of the rod.
  3. Float mount. The line is passed into the ring of the float (from top to bottom), and then a small rubber cambric is put on the line. The lower part of the float (keel) is inserted into the cambric.
  4. Loading the float with lead pellets. By fixing ordinary lead pellets on the fishing line, it is necessary to ensure that only the bright tip of the float appears from the water. This will make the rig very sensitive to the slightest touch of fish and will not raise suspicions in her, since the resistance of the float will be minimal.

    The last sinker (lead pellet) should be the smallest sinker - the so-called "backup" and it is placed directly in front of the leash.

  5. Then a 10-20 cm segment of thinner fishing line (leash) is tied to the end of the fishing line.
  6. And a hook is tied to the end of the line (at a distance of 10-15 cm from the beginning of the leash).

We select a rod

When buying a telescopic rod, it is necessary to check the serviceability of each knee and the strength of the butt plug attachment, special attention should be paid to the adhesion strength of one knee to the other (the length of the grip joint should be 1 / b of the knee length).

In terms of length and strength, the rod is selected depending on what kind of fish the angler is going to fish. For catching large fish you need a strong and long rod, small - light and short. Float rods can be equipped for both reel and blind tackle.

Installing a small reel on the rod allows you to quickly change the length of the line, makes it possible to fish out on thin and light tackle big fish... For fishing with a reel, the rod is equipped with a reel attachment and guides. At the tip of the rod, an end pass ring - "tulip" is attached.

The rings should be light and small in size. They are made from thin brass or copper wire. Split rings are the most convenient. In them, you can start or remove the fishing line without removing the float, leash and sinker from the fishing line. Depending on the length of the rod, 5–6 rings can be installed on it. The distance between the rings on a 4.5 m rod, counting from the butt of the rod, can be 150, 90, 80, 60, 40, 30 cm.

The spinning reel has many advantages; when casting, line tangles are practically excluded, they are convenient and easy to use. Reels for float fishing, where no power fishing is needed, are inexpensive. Even if the friction clutch is fully tightened, the line will still deflate under heavy load, thereby avoiding deformation of the reel.

When buying a reel, pay attention to the smoothness of the movement; when rotating the handle, there should be no jerks, noises, or crunching. After spinning up, the spool should not slow down immediately, but make several turns. Pay attention to what material the spool is made of for winding the fishing line.

With a plastic spool, the reel is lighter, with a metal nozzle it will fly further. The last is the spinning reel handle, it should fold. The best option would be a push-button, but more often they are sold with a nut for attaching a handle. The nut tends to unwind spontaneously, it is sometimes necessary to tighten it. If it gets lost, the stores sell spare.

Main line

The diameter of the line is chosen based on the expected prey size and biting activity. As a rule, in competitions, the diameter of the line is rarely more than 0.1 mm, and sometimes it is even 0.08 mm. Thin lines are used to catch limp, small fish.

These thin lines are used to reduce drag, making casting easier and speeding up the sinking of the tackle. This line allows you to cast any light rigs without much effort, and they sink much faster.

We select the right and catchy bait for fishing.

Float selection

This is perhaps the most important part of the rig. The components of the float are the body, keel, antenna, and ring.
The body of the float can be made of any floating material, but usually it is balsa or foam. The keel of the float is made of thin wire, or made of plastic. The antenna is made from a colored plastic tube.

The antenna length can vary from 2 to 6 centimeters. The color of the antenna can be any, the main thing is that it is noticeable to you, since sometimes you have to catch at a great distance from the coast. A float can greatly affect the result of fishing, therefore all fishermen treat their choice with special care.

Also good floats are those that flow from a thick diameter to a thin one.
If the fisherman needs a particularly sensitive float that will react to any movement of the bait, it is better to use goose feather floats, renowned for their responsiveness.

Rigging a float rod with a float

In order to correctly make the equipment, it is necessary to distinguish between its types and installation, which will make it easy to complete this task.
Attaching the float with a ring at the top to the line:

  • The line is pushed into the float (upside down from the bottom)
  • Cambric on a fishing line
  • Bottom of the float in cambric

Attachment to the line of a float without a ring:

  • In this case, if the float does not have a ring, one cambric will not be enough. Because the fishermen use two
  • For convenience, elastic bands are also used, which should not be too narrow.

Loading a fishing rod

The load, which the float rod is equipped with, like the float, can be sliding or dull. Sliding weight, as a rule, is used when there is enough great weight sinkers. The sinker is a drop or an olive with a through hole, which is not clamped on the line so as not to deform it, but moves freely along it.

The stopper of the movement of the sliding sinker is a deaf weight - a pellet, split into two-thirds of the diameter, rigidly fixed on the line, however, the weight can move along the line with little effort.

Be sure to set to the minimum depth, or that you are casting to sufficient depth, the weights should be suspended and not fall to the bottom.

Leash attachment

The float serves to ensure that when a force exceeds breaking load fishing line (hook, or large fish).
To tie a lead with a fishing line, you must put insulation on the fishing line according to the number of leads. Then you need to tie the loops on the fishing line. Each cambric should be located inside the loops.

Types of hooks

Hooks are one of the most controversial parts of a rig. They may be different sizes and forms. Hooks can have a long forend or a short one, and which hook to use in a given situation depends on the bait used.
For larger, more predatory fish, medium or large hooks should be chosen. And for a peaceful river fish small ones will do.

Groundbait and bait

Don't wait for the fish to bite on an empty hook - use baits and baits. The correct bait of the fishing spot always improves the fishing result. The first, preliminary step is the starting feeding of the place before the start of fishing. This is the most abundant food, designed to attract fish swimming “out there”.

The average amount is 5-10 orange-sized balls. The second step is feeding while fishing. It implies feeding the already swimming fish and designed to keep it in one point (namely, where we fish). It should be carried out every 10-15 minutes with one ball the size of egg... In the spring and autumn, it is preferable to use animal baits.

If you have a bad bite, use "sandwiches" - two different kinds nozzles (maggot and worm, maggot and bloodworm, corn and maggot)

Animal baits

  • bloodworm
  • maggot (fly larva)
  • dung and earthworm

Vegetable nozzles

  • dough
  • steamed corn
  • steamed barley and other cereals
