No winter fishing is complete without such equipment as a fishing box. It contains everything winter gear, and the catch is not uncommon, too, although it makes little sense to store the catch in it, if only there is a desire to greatly spoil it. After all, the catch can be folded into a bag. The price tag for such a box in fishing shops is sometimes biting. Therefore, we will consider one good option for a homemade fishing box. The weight of the box presented in this article does not exceed 3 kg, and it looks quite nice.

For self-made fishing box you will need:

Freezer from an old refrigerator
A piece of tin or a second chamber for the bottom.
A small piece of plywood, foam rubber (for the harness)
Drawer fabric
A pair of small pvc pipe fittings, and one large.

Making a fishing box

Cut out the cover from a sheet of plywood. Cut it out so that it protrudes 2-4 mm from all sides.

We make the bottom from a piece of tin, or the same camera, and screw it onto the bolts (if eating a riveting machine, it’s better to rivet it). Using the hinges, we also screw the lid.

From the inside, we glue the box with construction insulation. You can certainly do without him, but agree with him prettier. And glue the foam rubber to the lid.

We sew a cover and fit our almost finished box. Do not forget to put foam rubber on the lid.

We fasten a pair of holders for pvc pipes to one of the walls, they hold the fishing rods very well.

We screw the holder for the thermos into the corner. The holder is perfect for this. pvc pipes for sewerage. But you can think of any other ring.

1. we choose a victim of the Soviet refrigerator building (I had a choice), we take out the freezer from there - this will be the base of our box.

2. The bottom of the box can be made of any material that is not easily at hand: plywood, iron, etc., and we fix it in the case. Plywood - with self-tapping screws, a piece of iron can be riveted.

3. Next, you need to make the upper opening part of the same materials as the bottom. We fasten the hinges, you can use the piano ones, you can use the window ones, in general, those that come to hand, you can run to the selmag to buy. And then the fantasy begins. One box is normal in height, and the second is lower, and a thermos with hot tea is not included there, without which there is no way on winter fishing, which means you need to increase the height. To do this, from the same plywood I made two intermediate layers with a hole for the thermos lid and the rest of the space under the glove compartment. He fixed the lid of the glove compartment to a mini-hinge and screwed on the handle - a ring from an old door key, drilled a hole for the bolt from the side of the thermos, it served as an L-shaped hexagon. On top of the lid, I placed several layers of foam (foam rubber) and covered it with Karpet (automotive fabric for acoustic shelves, also laid since the time of the king of peas), fixed the fabric with a furniture stapler. We attach the cover to the base. The box is almost ready.

Many novice anglers, when purchasing winter fishing equipment, find it financially difficult to buy winter equipment. This is especially experienced by people of retirement age, residents of rural hinterlands and schoolchildren. But in many ways, your financial difficulties can be alleviated by deciding to make some fishing accessories yourself.

For example, a fishing box! In Soviet times, when the country "suffered" from a deficit in everything, many fishermen themselves made this most important attribute of winter fishing. Most often, it was made of plywood, having cut out the necessary parts (sides, lid, bottom) and fastened together with bars using nails. Almost at the same time, a method for making a box appeared from a worn-out freezer compartment of a refrigerator.

Today old Soviet refrigerators are thrown into a landfill, replacing them with more modern and high-quality "units". A freezer removed from a worn-out Soviet refrigerator is excellent for the body of a fishing box. It is only necessary to separate the tubes from the chamber through which the gas-frion went and you have a ready-made body of a fishing box at your disposal!

The bottom of the box is made of the required width of a wooden board of conifers (aspen is possible) with a thickness of 2-3 cm. The board must be dried, planed with a plane, cut out the required shape of the bottom and cleaned. For the penetration of melt water, especially in spring, between the walls of the body and the bottom, it is advisable to insert a sealing strip of rubber (from the bicycle chamber), pre-tighten the ends of the bottom with it and fix it to the walls of the body with screws, stepping back 3-5 cm from the bottom edge.

The bottom must be covered with linseed oil or paint with outside... The protective paint layer and the maintained distance (between the bottom and the ice) prevent water from entering the box. You should just not forget to carefully free the space for the box on the ice from snow.

The lid of the box is cut out of thick plywood. Having given the workpiece the desired shape, one should take into account a slight overlap in the front and on the sides of the future cover. Then a sponge (from a tractor or car seat) is placed on the workpiece and covered with a tarpaulin. With the help of a furniture stapler, the edges of the tarpaulin are fixed to the plywood, to the underside of the cover. The resulting cover should be connected to the body with small hinges or a ribbon hinge using screws. A small block should be placed on the inside of the case, into which the screws connecting the hinges will cut.

In the fishing box, additional compartments are needed (for tackle, loot, food), which are easy to make from board scraps. After cutting to the required dimensions and processing the workpieces, they should be vertically placed in the body and fixed to the walls with screws.

To carry the box, you will need a strong and preferably wide strap. It is fixed to the sides of the box with small bolts, after making holes in the sidewalls.

Fishing box ready! Its duralumin base gives the drawer lightness, which is very important for large transitions and an aesthetic look. It is quite strong and durable and, of course, economical in terms of acquisition.

Good weather and winter fishing!

The fishing box is an essential part of winter fishing. Here the fisherman puts everything he needs for fishing, and there may also be a thermos with hot tea. In addition, the fishing box can be made heated, which will be another good bonus.
If the task arose to make a fishing box for fishing in the winter, then the freezer from the old refrigerator is best suited for these purposes. Let's take a closer look at how to make such a box.

Tools and materials:
- freezer (suitable from an old Soviet refrigerator);
- self-tapping screws;
- a piece of plywood to create the lid and bottom of the box;
- drill with drills;
- jigsaw or other suitable cutting tool;
- two hinges for fixing the cover;

Manufacturing process

Step 1. Create the bottom of the box
Having pulled the camera out of the freezer, we proceed to create the bottom of the box. For these purposes, you can use various materials, including sheet steel. The author had a piece of plywood at hand, and he decided to make the bottom and lid out of it.
To create the bottom, the freezer must be placed on plywood and circled with a pencil. You need to cut the bottom so that it goes into the freezer, that is, you need to make it a couple of millimeters smaller than it was drawn.

When the bottom is cut, it is inserted into the chamber and secured with 6-10 self-tapping screws. So, in the wide part of the box, you can screw in 3 self-tapping screws, and in the narrow part, 2.
Surely many people know that plywood has such an unpleasant property as delamination when wet. To prevent this from happening, plywood must be thoroughly varnished from all sides in 2-3 layers. You also need to pay attention to the joints of the box and plywood. They must be carefully sealed with sealant or hot melt glue.

Step 2. Create the lid of the box
The lid is made in exactly the same way as the bottom. The only difference is that the lid should be a couple of millimeters wider than the box. That is, in the end, the lid should lie on the box, and not fall into it.
The cover will be attached with hinges. They are attached to plywood with self-tapping screws. Next, it remains to attach the lid to the box. To do this, drill holes in suitable places and fasten the cover with screws and nuts.

Step 3. Install the belt.
In order to secure the belt, you need to make two holes in the box on each side. Next, you need to make two handles from steel wire and insert them into these holes. That's all, now you can hook the belt to the handles.
