Kudryavtseva rhythmic gymnastics. Yana Kudryavtseva is the pride of Russian gymnastics

Multiple world champion, silver medalist at the 2016 Olympic Games, 19-year-old gymnast, apparently, ended her career due to the severe consequences of a broken leg. This was stated by the head of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics Irina Viner-Usmanova.

Yanochka, most likely, finished, - quotes "R-Sport" words Viner-Usmanova. - Because the fracture of the leg had very serious consequences on the healthy leg, which also needs to be operated on. She no longer has the strength to endure the operation. Although these are our tears, our pain, because such a beauty and such an extraordinary gymnast left so early. But it was decided so, and we are only looking at the result. Yana is engaged in her personal life. She was in Germany, she was told that she needed a second operation, and after that she finished.

In March 2016, after a six-month break in performances due to a serious leg injury, the absolute world champion returned to the carpet and out of competition performed in three types of programs at international tournament in Riga. And after that she gave an interview to the SE columnist Elena VAYTSEKHOVSKAYA. We give.

I had too long a break in the competition, just a huge one, - said then Kudryatseva. - You don't have to go back to gymnastics after not performing for six months. I know that most girls who had similar injuries preferred to end up with sports right away.

- Are you lucky?

Maybe yes. I have thought about it more than once. And to this day, to be honest, I don’t understand how I managed to cope with everything. When you do not exercise, flexibility, stretching and muscle memory are lost very quickly. In this respect, we have a very specific kind of sport: it requires such delicate and complex coordination that it can be difficult to return some sensations even after a single day off.

- How difficult was your leg surgery?

At first it was planned that it would be very difficult. As it turned out during the examination, the scaphoid bone in my foot completely crumbled, tissue necrosis began, and the German doctors were going to take the bone from the thigh and replace it with the one that crumbled. But then the doctors decided that it was possible to try to avoid such complex manipulations: they cleaned out the crumbled pieces thoroughly, re-altered the ligaments, so the recovery turned out to be faster than it could have been.

- You do sport family, father - Olympic swimming champion. Didn't you understand, when deciding to compete in last year's World Cup with a broken leg, that this feat could end very badly, and you could completely lose the opportunity to compete at Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro?

No, I had no doubts about going out on the carpet or not. And then I never regretted that I worked the whole program in Stuttgart. If I had decided otherwise, I think I would not have been in the national team for a long time, and other girls would now be preparing for the Olympic Games.

- In other words, since you have come to the competition, no one should care what is injured and how much it hurts?

Of course. The choice of what to do is always up to the gymnast. But me and the coaches then supported me in this decision, and my parents were in favor. Moreover, at that moment no one could have thought that everything was serious with the leg to such an extent.

- Do you want to say that the turning point became known only after the competition?

Yes. My leg hurt quite a bit, but the doctors were inclined to believe that my growth zones were just inflamed. Since the inflammation was strong enough, it blurred the overall picture and did not allow the fracture to be seen.

- Exactly the same story happened at one time with Laysan Utyasheva, who for a long time could not be diagnosed. In her case, no one at all believed that the leg could be broken.

Yes, I remember that incident. Moreover, it was the scaphoid bone that was broken at Laysan.

- And who was able to make the correct diagnosis?

This happened already in Germany, when I was sent there for examination. After the World Cup, I had time to rest a little, the inflammation and swelling decreased, so it became clear that there was a problem with the bone. I think if the coaches knew that I had a fracture, I would simply not be allowed to play in Stuttgart.

- In one of your interviews you said that it doesn't matter for you who wins in Rio de Janeiro, the main thing is that it is a Russian athlete. Do you really think so?

We have been taught that way. The Russian flag should always be higher than the rest. Who exactly will stand on the pedestal under this flag is of secondary importance. Of course, I really want to win myself. But first of all, I would like to reach these Olympic Games, to be selected for the national team. With our competition in the team, it is not at all easy - the bench is huge.

- Do you never think that you - with such an attitude to sports - are just soldiers in someone else's and rather fanatical race for gold?

I don't think any of us set ourselves up that way. After all, it is possible to reason in a different way: if for so many years Russian gymnasts have occupied exclusively first places, if we have such a history and such traditions behind us, then how can we lose ourselves?

Yana Kudryavtseva is a Russian gymnast. Silver medalist of the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Thirteen-time world champion in rhythmic gymnastics (2013, 2014, 2015), multiple European champion (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016). Four-time champion of the 1st European Games in rhythmic gymnastics.

The youngest absolute world champion in the history of rhythmic gymnastics.

Yana is a daughter famous swimmer, Olympic champion in 1992 Alexei Kudryavtsev, and his wife Victoria.

Sports career Kudryavtseva started in 2008: she won national junior tournaments, including the Russian junior championship in 2009 in Dmitrov, in 2011 in Samara and in 2012 in Kazan.

Yana began performing at international competitions in the 2011 season. In Moscow, at the international junior tournament, held in parallel with the Grand Prix stage, she became the first in the team with Dina and Arina Averin, as well as in exercises with a hoop and clubs. She won the Junior World Cup in Pesaro. In 2012, at the European Championships, she became the champion among juniors in the exercise with the ball, and also won gold in the team all-around together with Yulia Sinitsyna, Alexandra Soldatova and Diana Borisova. Student of the Department of Theory and Methods of Gymnastics at the PF Lesgaft University, St. Petersburg.

Kudryavtseva began performing in adult competitions in 2013 at the international tournament among seniors, held as part of the Grand Prix stage in Moscow, as well as at the next stage in Holon, where she won the all-around, exercises with clubs and ball and bronze in the exercise with hoop.

Then she took part in the World Cup stage in Sofia, where she took first place in the all-around and became the first gymnast to win the World Cup stage in her debut season, leaving behind the Bulgarian Sylvia Miteva and teammate Margarita Mamun. She also won the hoop and clubs exercise and won bronze in the ribbon exercise. At the stage of the World Cup in Minsk, Yana won the second in a row gold medal in all-around, as well as "gold" in exercises with a ball and "silver" in exercises with clubs and a ribbon.

At the European Championships in Vienna, she replaced Alexandra Merkulova and, together with her teammates, Margarita Mamun and Daria Svatkovskaya, won the gold medal in the team all-around. In the finals of certain types, she excelled in exercises with the ball (the first of all the athletes to receive a total of 19 points under the new refereeing system) and clubs. Yana became the youngest European champion, just like Alina Kabaeva, who also won her first European Championship at the age of 15.

In August of the same year, Yana made her debut at the World Championships in Kiev. During the qualification in the exercise with the ribbon, as a result of technical failures, the music was repeatedly interrupted, and Yana had to perform again, which did not prevent her from becoming the first in this form with a score of 18.516. In addition, Kudryavtseva won the gold medal in the clubs exercise, sharing this award with her compatriot Margarita Mamun, and became the silver medalist in the ball and hoop exercises. In the final of the individual all-around, Yana won gold, beating the Ukrainian gymnast Anna Rizatdinova and Melitina Stanuta from Belarus and becoming the youngest absolute world champion at the age of 15.

Jana won 5 gold medals at the 2014 World Championships in Stuttgart, competing with a fractured foot.

It all started with the World Cup stage, which took place in Kazan at the end of August. Speaking at these competitions, I realized that I had injured my ankle. But the injury was familiar. As awful as it sounds, we are used to doing our job through pain, sweat, and often blood. Therefore, after examining the doctors, who established an inflammatory process in the growth zone, the fracture was not found, although the pain was severe. I had a choice to compete at the World Championships in Stuttgart or not. I made a natural choice for myself - that is, I performed. My leg hurt, but I passed all the tests on painkillers and fixation tape.

In other sports, winning one gold medal at the World Championship while being in the best shape in life is considered a feat. You took gold 5 times in Stuttgart - with an injury in which it is difficult to walk, but you had to jump and stand on half-toes. Where does this will and perseverance of character come from?

I think best of all, my dad can answer it - the Olympic champion of Barcelona in swimming Alexei Kudryavtsev. It was he who put all of himself into my realization in sports. Mom also does a lot for my support, surrounding me with love and care, but my father is an example of an iron character, subordinated to the main life goal. His example for me is a guide in life. And, of course, the character is formed by the team that works with me, and this is mine personal coach Elena Lvovna Karpushenko, choreographers, doctors and all those who help me to achieve good results in sports.

Could you refuse to perform at the World Championships and save your leg for future starts, primarily for the Olympic Games in Rio?

In the current situation - definitely not! First, the degree of threat of serious injury was not obvious. Secondly, licenses for participation in the Olympic Games were raffled off in Stuttgart. I had to get the opportunity to perform there so as not to let down those who believe in me. This is not only family and friends, coaches and friends on the national team, but also a huge number of ordinary fans - fans of rhythmic gymnastics. And most importantly, it is very important for me to do everything in my power to assert the greatness of Russia! And I can do it only honestly and with full dedication by doing my work on the gymnastic mat. This is my best.

- Yana, could you tell us more about the injury and its consequences?

Of course, especially since there is nothing secret about it. After the end of the World Cup and returning home, she immediately fell into the hands of doctors. I was examined by surgeons, CT and MRI were done. As a result, the light saw the following diagnosis: a fracture of the 14th part of the scaphoid bone of the left foot. He meant an urgent operation, because, of course, nothing will go through and will not stick together.

Thanks to the President of the All-Russian Federation of Artistic Gynasty and our head coach Irina Aleksandrovna Viner for immediately offering help and a clinic in Germany. Without wasting time, my dad and I went there for an examination, but it turned out that the operation that I was offered there would require a very long recovery period. This could have jeopardized my performance at the Olympics. We were very confused, but luck smiled at us, my father's friends-athletes advised a clinic in Munich, where the most famous stars of world sports were operated on: hockey players, football players and even representatives of rhythmic gymnastics. It was there, on the day of my 18th birthday, that I ended up, however, not at the festive table, but on the operating table. In general, the birthday was a success: the operation was successful and after 6 weeks I will be able to start training. I especially want to thank the doctor of our team, Andrei Abramov, who was constantly with me for examination and surgery, and helped me a lot.

- Why was the operation done in Germany and not in Russia?

I am sure: there are specialists in Russia who are capable of making it no worse than there. But here's the paradox, we don't know or know less about them than about doctors in Germany. Here, after all, recommendations and experience of assistance in such cases are very important. Therefore, Germany is a fortunate but random choice dictated by the circumstances.

- How is this forced downtime in training process could affect preparations for the Olympic Games?

Yes, it is very important to get started quickly. full training... But for now, I can only do exercises that do not touch the sore leg. 2 weeks after the operation, the stitches will be removed and I can swim in the pool, and after 6 weeks my orthopedic boot will be removed and then I will begin to restore my physical fitness... In this regard, I am very concerned about the issue of preparation new program... But through this excitement, daddy's confidence appears that the coach and I will do everything possible in order not to disappoint the fans and specialists of rhythmic gymnastics. In general, it seems that this story with a fracture motivated me and gave me even more internal forces for future workouts.

You say that the trauma motivated you to sports terms... In general, did the situation when you, "Lady Perfection", as journalists often call you, have to move on crutches, influenced you?

You know, limited opportunities, when only yesterday I was subject to any movement from an arsenal inaccessible to many, and today my dad carries me in his arms to the fifth floor of our Khrushchev house, makes me think about a lot. Think about what was previously perceived as a given, but now as a reward of the Lord, which must be cherished and for which one must be thankful. And I also think that not every girl on crutches has such a powerful dad who can lift and carry to the fifth floor in a building without an elevator. That not every disabled person has the opportunity, having paid for a taxi, to comfortably get from point "A" to point "B". And many other things about people with disabilities, suddenly became more understandable for me. I am sure that now I will not be able to pass by without noticing the pain of others, as often a blind man can pass in his healthy happiness.

- How do you use the forced respite in training?

I will try to read more, study English and earn a desire to train. There will be time to communicate with friends and family. You can breathe in the autumn air, take a walk in the park with your sister. I am sure that this unexpected stop on the way of my preparation for the Games in Rio is not an obstacle, but a springboard to new victories!

Records

The youngest gymnast to become the absolute world champion (at the age of 15). The record previously belonged to Alina Kabaeva (Russia) and Elena Karpukhina (USSR), who won the all-around at the age of 16.

First gymnast to win the individual all-around in her debut season.

The first gymnast to receive 19 points according to the new 20-point judging system (European Championships 2013).

Record holder of the 1st European Games in Baku by the number of gold medals

Yana throughout four years was the undisputed leader of rhythmic gymnastics, and therefore went to Rio de Janeiro as a favorite. An unfortunate mistake in the exercise with clubs nullified all her efforts, although in the remaining three exercises Kudryavtseva received the highest marks. In a conversation with journalists, among whom was the correspondent of the Championship, Yana tried to smile, but it was noticeable that she was emotionally devastated.

- Are you more happy about silver or are you upset that you did not reach for gold?
- Glad to the silver and the fact that everything is over. Of course, there is frustration, but let us be content with what we have, because it might not have happened. Considering how the year went, what injuries I had, this Olympics might not have happened. Therefore, I am glad and the silver medal.

- What happened to the clubs?
- At the end of the performance, the strength was already running out. I threw them badly and did not have time to realize that they did not fly well. That is, I could have done something, but I didn't have time.

- Is this mistake connected with the fact that this is the debut Olympiad for you?
- I do not think. All the mistakes that were due to the fact that we are performing for the first time occurred the day before. I was even a little ashamed of my performance, but the coaches reassured me, saying that this was only the first day and only the beginning, and today it will be better. We tried out the hall, and today it was much calmer. I think that this is personally my mistake, and not because of the debut.

- How do you like the local platform atypical for rhythmic gymnastics?
- Thanks to Irina Aleksandrovna Viner, we began to prepare for the platform in advance. For two months he stood with us in Novogorsk, and now there was also a platform at the final training camp, so we got used to it enough. Thank you very much for this, because without it it would be difficult to perform.

- Before the last exercise, did you manage to throw out negative emotions?
- I managed to cry a little after the clubs, to say that I would not go anywhere else, to show my character. But, after talking with the coach, I got ready, went out and was able to speak calmly. The coach told me to calm down, explained that we are no longer fighting for the gold medal, but we must hold on and let go of all emotions. I was already performing calmly and relaxed.

- Compared to qualifications, did you complicate the program?
- No. We cannot change the program during the competition.

- Did you have a mindset that it doesn't matter who wins, who will be second, the main thing is that Russia has gold?
- From my heart I say that I am insanely happy with this medal, this silver is gold for me. After all, I could not get here at all. Insanely happy for Margarita Mamun. It's a shame that it didn't work out as I expected, but I'm still glad.

- Are you already thinking about the next Olympics?
- I'm not going to make plans yet, I will have a rest. God forbid, I will make it next Games and I will speak at them. I am 19 years old, so there is time to think.

- Why did you have problems with the hoop in qualifying?
- It's usually hard for me to do it. Firstly, it is always difficult to start with the hoop, but in the final I coped well with it.

- They say you have a mascot dog that stayed at home. Maybe you missed his support?
- He never went to competitions with us, so he is always waiting for us at home. At first he lived in Novogorsk, where we train, and now with my mother.

- Does the absence of Irina Viner at the Olympics create problems for you?
- No, because Irina Alexandrovna was always in touch after each type of program. We trained, we were recorded on video, then she analyzed all the mistakes and made adjustments. We can say that she completely controlled the whole process.

Despite the joy both for her friend and for the country, Yana, of course, was still upset. In the evening after the competition, she wrote a post for her fans: "It happens in sports, you go to the goal all your life, you do not go to Kindergarten and school, you don't walk with friends in the evening, you don't see your loved ones, you disappear in training, in competitions, you try, because you know that there are people who love you, the whole country, Motherland, and you do everything so as not to let them down, to please, to be the first. Friends, girlfriends, fans, relatives, coaches - forgive me if I did not meet your expectations, but I fought to the end, I tried, honestly, it hurt, I was hard, sometimes lonely, but I went forward, forward for you. This silver with my tears, with my smile, with your applause - shines like gold. I want to say thank you to Elena Lvovna, who raised the vice-Olympic champion from a small monkey, and, of course, many thanks, unlimited respect to our common "mother" Irina Aleksandrovna Viner-Usmanova for seeing the talent in me, putting her whole soul into heart in me and gave me a chance to become unique. I love you all. And, of course, thanks to my parents! Mom, Dad, I love you. "

Personal life:(excerpt from an interview for Championship.com)
- There is not enough time for her now.

- Recent times gymnasts most often meet with hockey players ...
“I don’t know what to say. I do not represent as mine young man not an athlete. First, the lifestyle should be similar. Secondly, he can understand more, support, find some correct word. I did not communicate with people who are not connected with the world of sports, and it seems that I cannot.

The photo on Instagram with Zenit midfielder Artur Yusupov caused a stir. Is there something between you?
- (Smiling). We are fine.

Earlier in 2014, Arthur met with another Russian gymnast Karolina Sevastyanova.

It is known that Yana is friends with the skater Elena Ilinykh

Yana Kudryavtseva is a young Russian gymnast, a Muscovite, who by the age of nineteen has achieved phenomenal success in rhythmic gymnastics. Not only has she become the youngest absolute world champion in gymnastics in the entire history of the sport, she has achieved the best European and world results for many years in a row. So, during her modest (in time) sports career, Yana was able to become the champion of the European Games four times, to show five times in a row best result in Europe and become a thirteen-time world champion.

Childhood and youth

Kudryavtseva was born on September 30, 1997 in the capital Russian Federation, in family Russian athlete Alexey Kudryavtsev and his wife. Alexey, a native of Moscow born in 1972, took the gold medal with Dmitry Lepikov at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain.

Yana began her sports career at the age of 11, in 2008, and almost immediately began to show impressive results. In the early years of participation in great sport, young gymnast repeatedly won Russian national junior tournaments, in particular tournaments in Dmitrov and Samara (in 2009 and 2011, respectively), a tournament in Kazan in 2012.

A year later, Yana takes "gold" in the team all-around at the European Championship.

The brightest star of Russian rhythmic gymnastics has several unsurpassed achievements. So, Kudryavtseva became the first gymnast in the world to win the individual all-around in her debut season; the first gymnast to take nineteen points on the newly introduced twenty-point system. At the beginning of 2014, Yana Kudryavtseva lost ground somewhat, but did not leave the top three Russian gymnasts. Together with her, the leaders of the national team, according to the results of the first tournament of the Moscow Grand Prix, were Maria Titova and Margarita Mamun. In subsequent competitions in 2014, Yana took the lead again, first taking second place in the exercise with clubs in Thieu, and then taking as many as four "gold" at the world championship in Stuttgart (Germany) and two "gold", "bronze" and "silver" at the Grand Prix in Holon.
