How to make a pool for water. How to build a pool in the country with your own hands - complete step-by-step instructions

On a hot summer day, while relaxing in the country, it is very pleasant to plunge into a cool pond. It is good if there is a pond or river nearby. And if not? This is where you need your own pool. Does it need to be as big as in the Sports Palace? No, the purpose of the suburban artificial reservoir is to have fun, and not to set swimming records. Find out about all the nuances that you need to know in more detail later in the article.

What are the summer cottage pools?

Types of pools found in summer cottages:

  • from scrap materials;
  • frame;
  • made of wood and film;
  • made of polypropylene;
  • from cinder blocks;
  • from concrete;
  • made of composite plastic.

Which of these types to choose depends on the taste of the owner, his experience with the materials used. The depth of a suburban artificial reservoir for adults usually does not exceed 1.5 m, and for bathing children - 0.5 m.

If the summer cottage has a slope, it is better to install the pool at its highest point. The location should not have trees and bushes in the immediate vicinity.

With a buried stationary version, the root system can damage the integrity of the structure and disrupt its waterproofing and tightness.

It is better to orient the artificial reservoir along the prevailing wind direction on the terrain. This arrangement will prevent dry leaves, grass and dust from entering the water.

During the construction of the pool, summer cottage provide stairs, gangways and ladders. They will provide safe entry and exit from the artificial reservoir from the outside and inside.

Additional attention should be paid to the system for filling the pool with water and emptying it. Usually in large artificial reservoirs, automatic cleaning is used, when water is passed through a system of filters in a closed cycle. This allows you not to change the water for a long time.

If engineering communications are connected to the summer cottage - water supply and sewerage, you can use this happy circumstance. However, direct connection will require a project and permission from resource supplying organizations. Unauthorized connection to these networks is unacceptable and can be punished with a large fine.

For power supply of pumps, filters, water heating devices and for lighting in the evening or at night - you need to provide a power supply system.

Advice

Connection electrical equipment it is better to entrust it to specialists. This will protect against accidental defeat. electric shock both when connecting and during operation of the pool.

Wireframe

Frame pools include structures made of vertical posts and horizontal tie bars installed at a certain pitch. They can be stationary and collapsible, that is, those that can be dismantled or moved to another place at any time.

Vertical racks of stationary pools are rigidly clamped into the ground. In this case, either pre-dug pits or drilled wells are used. The racks can be in the form of metal pipes or rolled products - channel, angle, I-beam, concrete - round or rectangular, wooden - in the form of logs or beams.

Pinching is performed using concrete or cement-sand mortar. Before use, wooden elements must be treated with agents that prevent rotting, fungal attack and protect against wood-eating insects. To reduce the flexibility of the racks when filling an artificial reservoir with a height of more than 50 cm, spacers are arranged.

Horizontal strips are attached to the uprights with bolts or self-tapping screws, creating either a solid shield or a sparse one, if longitudinal gaps are left between the boards to save materials (in this case, the tensile strength of the film used is taken into account). Most often, horizontal planks are made from edged wooden boards.

In the simplest case, the inner bowl is lined with polypropylene or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film. There are films produced specifically for swimming pools that have a deep blue color. In a more expensive version, for long-term stationary operation, sheet propylene is used, the seams of which are welded with an ordinary building hairdryer. Exterior finishing can also be made with plastic foil or plastic siding, on which some kind of drawing or painting is applied for decorative purposes.

If an outdoor pool of a stationary type is being arranged, it is necessary to provide for the protection of its bowl in the cold season from atmospheric precipitation in the form of rain and snow, as well as dirt and dust caused by the wind. This will minimize preparation for start-up. As such protection, you can use a set of several wooden shields that completely cover the pool bowl with a polyethylene or polypropylene film laid on top of them.

Structurally, the pool cover is different ways... This can be a detached building or an extension to the main house. Its manufacture is similar to the construction of a one-story building with a basement, resting on strip foundations.

The difference is that in the overlap of the first floor, a cutout is made for the pool bowl, and it itself is placed in the basement of the building or extension.

The decoration of such a pool and its enclosing structures is usually done with ceramic tiles, recreation areas are created, and sometimes a room is allocated for a bath or sauna.

Another option is a lightweight structure made of a metal (usually aluminum) profile, which is either covered with transparent fiberglass panels, or covered with a PVC film.

Pipes can be used as racks and upper belts of arches or trusses, including plastic ones used for water supply, metal profiles, except for the most common rolled products, box-shaped or "C" -shaped sections are allowed.

Horizontal and cross braces for stiffness are made in the form of metal or plastic strips.

First, an outdoor pool is set up, then a fencing structure is mounted around it. To prevent the collapse of such a structure from the loads acting on it, before its manufacture, it is better to calculate the bearing capacity.

Structurally, a lightweight structure above the pool can have a gable configuration with a pediment, a four-slope, a round one in the form of a tent or yurt, an arched or semi-arched system. Side rails can be:

  • sliding;
  • removable.

In some cases, only a cover in the form of a canopy or awning is arranged, which protects against atmospheric influences in the form of rain or direct sunlight.

From scrap materials

This type of pool can be both very simple and one that will require a lot of effort and time.

The quickest and easiest way to make a pool is to adapt for this purpose some ready-made container already having a bottom and walls. These can be old cast-iron baths, metal containers with an open top... They can be installed both buried in the ground and installed directly on the ground. Pools of this type are filled with water using a hose, and drained by manually scooping or using a hand pump.

Sometimes as artificial reservoirs use used tires of giant wheels of heavy-duty transport.

These pools are arranged on a concrete base, buried in the ground to its own thickness (for an open version) or the height of the tire is added to it - for a version that provides for full burial into the ground.

Once installed, the pool can be painted or finished in a variety of ways. It is very suitable for children's play and entertainment.

There are pools made of railway metal containers, with the upper part cut to the required height. Such pools can be fully or partially buried in the ground or simply installed on a planned earthen area.

For use along the walls and bottom of the pool, waterproofing is arranged on the inside, and they themselves are decorated with either ceramic tiles laid on a cement-sand mortar, or with a polypropylene film.

Another option is a pool device with a frame assembled from wooden pallets - pallets used for loading and transporting various goods. The configuration of such a pool depends on the area allocated for it.

The number of pallets required for the manufacture of a pool ranges from four or more pieces. And he himself can have a plan view from a simple square to more complex polygons with an even and odd number of sides. On a prepared base, it is better if it is a flat concrete platform, the required polygon is assembled from pallets-pallets, and then pulled together in 3 or 4 levels with plastic bands that perform the same function as metal hoops in a wooden barrel.

The bottom and walls of the resulting pool are lined with polypropylene film. Such a pool is collapsible. It can be easily decomposed into component elements that can be removed indoors for the winter, transported to another area, etc.

Sometimes you come across recommendations - to fold the walls of the pool from old plastic bottles. This advice seems very dubious for sanitary and hygienic reasons, since the required amount of this "material" required even for a small pool can only be collected at the nearest landfill.

Made of polypropylene

These pools are usually made in two ways.

For an artificial reservoir, a ready-made bowl made of cast propylene of the required depth and dimensions in plan, manufactured at the factory, is purchased. The owner is only required to prepare a flat area or foundation pit (with a recessed version), and also improve the surrounding area.

Factory made bowls have limited dimensions for safe transport. If the owner wishes to go beyond these dimensions, the pool can be welded from sheet polypropylene on his own. At the same time, for stability from the bursting loads of the water column of the filled pool, both the frame system and the soil walls of the open pit can be used. Propylene sheets are cut according to the pool configuration and welded together using a hot air gun.

The advantages of polypropylene pools are that this material:
  • has a dense structure impervious to water;
  • resistant to aggressive atmospheric influences, including temperature changes;
  • neutral to the effects of solar ultraviolet radiation, not subject to fading and loss of original color;
  • is environmentally friendly and harmless to humans, does not emit any harmful chemical compounds into the water that can cause allergies or poisoning;
  • has a low heat transfer, allowing for a long time to keep the water heated, without exchanging temperature with the surrounding space;
  • the flexibility and elasticity of polypropylene makes it possible to form bowls of various configurations and shapes from it, including those with rounded edges and wall transitions in the bottom;
  • weldable well with a hot air gun with reliable sealing.

Concrete

Despite the relatively high cost and labor intensity during construction, artificial reservoirs made of monolithic reinforced concrete are the most effective for long-term use. Pools of this type can be used for decades, requiring only minimal cosmetic repairs and, in rare cases, replacement of decorative finishes.

Ceramic tiles are usually used as cladding, painted in different colors, which can be laid in the form of patterns or geometric shapes. Also, with the help of tiles in the pool, special zones can be distinguished, the boundaries of which are clearly visible both on the surface and under water.

At the first stage, after the preparation and planning of the site, as well as the breakdown of the axes of the site, they begin to open the pit using manual labor or special earth-moving machines.

The bottom of the pit must also be leveled and graded. For this, ordinary quartz sand is used. Roll waterproofing is laid on top of the sand cushion and poured with hot bitumen. Further, the slab is concreted, reinforcing it with a mesh of metal rods. The concrete grade must be at least M300 ... M450 in the old marking or from B22.5 to B35 in the new classification.

After 10 ... 14 days, a vertical formwork is installed on the bottom and the walls of the bowl are concreted. The thickness of the walls of the pool, buried 1.5 m in the ground, can be from 25 to 30 cm. It is better to reinforce the walls with a vertical mesh installed closer to the edge facing the pit. This is due to the fact that lateral stresses from the water pressure act on the vertical parts of the artificial reservoir, and the working fittings should be located on the side opposite to the applied force.

After concreting the walls and setting the concrete, the resulting bowl is internally waterproofed. For this, roll materials reinforced with fiberglass are used, rolling them with an overlap along the bottom and wrapping them onto the walls. Melted bitumen or special cold-curing mastics are used as glue.

Another way is to apply a special thick composition based on artificial rubber in several layers. After polymerization, it turns into a seamless, durable rubber-like insert, up to 5 mm thick. When concreting, do not forget to install round foam inserts in the places where utility lines are supplied, with a diameter corresponding to the diameter of the pipes.

Interruptions in concreting the walls should not be allowed for more than 5 hours. In this case, the concrete will turn out to be layered with hairline cracks, which will violate the waterproof properties and the structural integrity of the pool.

The formwork can be inventory - plastic, metal, from special formwork plywood, or home-made - from wooden panels knocked down with their own hands.

To save money, you can use an unedged slab as a formwork material.

Complex elements of reinforcement - frames, meshes are made by knitting, when individual parts are tied together with a soft knitting wire.

It is categorically not recommended to use electric arc and acetylene welding, since exposure to high temperatures reduces the tensile strength of reinforcing bars and weakens the bearing capacity of a reinforced concrete structure.

You can prepare concrete yourself using a concrete mixer installed directly at the summer cottage. But in order to prevent accidental mistakes with the proportions of the constituent ingredients, it is better to use purchased concrete delivered by special mixer vehicles. An added bonus will be that the seller or supplier will be solely responsible for poor quality concrete (if this happens).

After dismantling and disassembling the formwork between the concrete and the soil wall of the pit, voids are formed, which are called reverse sinuses. To the level of the surface of the earth, they are layer by layer covered with sand, watered with water and rammed. Further, a concrete blind area is arranged along the perimeter of the pool walls to a width of at least 0.5 m.

In order to avoid accidental injury, it is tiled with anti-slip ceramic tiles.

In the process of finishing and tiling the pool with ceramic tiles, it is better to use a special fine-mesh mesh, reinforced with fiberglass mesh. To increase the water resistance of the cladding, the tile joints should be cut and rubbed with silicone mastic.

From cinder block

The cinder block was very often used in the restoration and construction of buildings in the 50s of the XX century. Then it was completely replaced by the more widespread silicate (white) brick. Currently, this material has received a rebirth.

Cinder block is now most often used for the construction of secondary buildings - garages, warehouses, summer kitchens, fences. Artificial cinder-concrete stones are sometimes better than bricks for the following reasons:

  • one cinder block, due to its increased size, immediately replaces several bricks, so masonry from it is simpler than brick;
  • extensive internal voids of the cinder block improve its heat-shielding properties;
  • technologies for homemade cinder block manufacturing have been developed.

The experience of using a cinder block for the construction of swimming pools in the country has shown itself with positive side... The strength of the walls, lined with this material, turned out to be sufficient to withstand the lateral pressure of the poured water.

It should be borne in mind that the masonry should be done not on cement-lime mortar, traditionally used for brick and masonry, but on cement-sand. For better adhesion (sticking) of the solution to the cinder blocks, plasticizers must be added to the solution. It can be - polyvinyl acetate emulsion (PVA), acrylic or styrene-based latexes.

Preparation work, a foundation pit, as well as the device of a horizontal slab - the bottom is performed in the same way as it is prepared for a reinforced concrete monolithic pool. The walls are laid out to the desired height with a thickness of half a cinder block, which is about 20 cm. Horizontal joints should be reinforced with a mesh of rods with a diameter of 6 mm.

The backfilling of the sinuses should be carried out with a mixture of sand and gravel with very careful tamping.

If there are voids in them, one or more cinder blocks under the pressure of water can be squeezed out of the vertical plane.

The leaked moisture will get under the bottom and cause uneven subsidence of the soil of the base of the concrete slab with the formation of fractures and cracks in it. Such a pool, most likely, will be unsuitable for repair and will be subject to disassembly and alteration.

After the construction of the walls from the cinder block, the inner surface of the formed bowl requires waterproofing and finishing. Before using roll-up waterproofing, it is recommended to further strengthening and to protect cinder blocks and seams, use a deep penetration impregnation-soil.

For the manufacture of pools, other block materials are also used, such as bricks, concrete blocks, rubble and sawn natural stone. The masonry of such materials practically does not differ from the masonry of cinder blocks.

When constructing such artificial reservoirs, it is not recommended to use silicate (white) brick, as well as blocks or panels with gypsum binder. This is due to the fact that they have low resistance to weathering, especially when wet or saturated with water.

When operating an artificial reservoir from a cinder block, you need to carefully monitor the technical condition of its structure. If cracks appear, immediately take measures to eliminate them by deep joining and filling them with silicone mastic. Sometimes cracks can be disguised as tile seams, so inspections and repairs must be carried out regularly and very carefully. Then the pool will be usable for many years. That will bring a lot of joy to the owner of the dacha and his family members.

The dacha is a place where we take a break from the bustle of the city. Perhaps the most relaxing effect is water. By building a swimming pool in the country, you “kill two birds with one stone”: you give your backyard a luxurious look and enjoy swimming in clear water.

Peculiarities

The construction of an object can be ordered from companies directly involved in this type of service, but an independent solution to the problem will be much more interesting and more budgetary. Moreover, building a pool with your own hands is not as difficult as it seems at first glance.

Depending on the service life allocate temporary and stationary pools... Each of them has its own characteristics that must be taken into account when choosing one or another option. Stationary structures are sturdy structures that do not move from one place to another. Their bowl is a monolith made of concrete, brick, etc. Moving such an object will cause its destruction.

The temporary pool can be removed when the summer season is over and used again for next year... This category includes inflatable pools and frame structures. Their service life is 2-4 years.

For a pool that will only be used in the summer, any location will do. Inflatable pools are a cheap option that does not require drastic changes on the site.

If you opted for a stationary pool, before you dig it out, you need to choose the right location on the site. After all, it will not work to move such a structure after the completion of all work on its creation.

There are several important points to consider:

  • Trees. They should not be near the pool for two reasons. The first is the root system, which negatively affects the waterproofing of the pool. The second is foliage that pollutes the water surface. If the leaves are not removed in time, the water “blooms” and the pool loses its attractiveness.
  • Soil type. Ideal if your site has clay soil. It does not allow water to pass through, which is important if damage to the waterproofing suddenly occurs.

  • Direction of the wind. The pool will somehow become clogged with wind-blown debris. It will be nailed to a certain board. Therefore, make sure that it is there that the cleaning of the pool is as convenient as possible and you can quickly remove the brought foliage, grass blades, etc. Here the drainage system should also be placed.
  • Water pipes. By placing the pool close to the water supply, you will ensure that the bowl is filled quickly and easily.

If you decide to install a frame pool, try to make sure that the surface set aside for it is absolutely flat. Potholes, irregularities, dents, remnants of tree roots - all this should not be. Ideally, the site is concreted, creating a smooth base for the pool.

Varieties

The monolithic pool is a one-piece sealed structure with its own drainage system. Created with your own hands, it will not only save money, but also allow you to equip the site in the best way.

The advantages of a monolithic construction are obvious. Compared to all possible options pools, monolithic is the most durable. Its service life exceeds 50 years. Structures are not afraid of temperature drops, mechanical stress. If the soil on the site is "problematic", a monolithic pool will be the only option that can be used in the country.

Another advantage of a monolithic pool is the variety of shapes. The bowl can be made as correct shape, and unusual, which will look very impressive. Using different finishing materials (mosaic, tiles, stone), you will turn the pool into a real masterpiece.

After the end of the swimming season, the water is drained, some of the equipment is removed. If for the winter the dacha is left without owners, nothing threatens the pool, it is simply impossible to steal it.

For beginners who do not have enough experience in the field of construction, it will seem difficult to make such an object. Certain financial costs will be required. It is not recommended to save at the same time, as this can cause breakdowns and repairs will bring serious losses. Therefore, we use only high quality materials.

Construction is carried out step by step. Initially, a pit is dug, then a drainage system is created, thermal insulation is equipped. The structure is sealed and reinforced, the bowl is poured. The last stage is finishing.

A monolithic pool can be created in two ways: pouring concrete into the formwork or using polystyrene foam blocks.

Let's consider the first option. Initially, we determine the size (large, medium, mini) and the shape of the future pool. Of course, the larger the structure, the more building materials and funds will be required. The pit should be slightly larger than the intended dimensions, since the bottom and walls will take about 50 cm in thickness.

The project of the basin water supply and drainage system is being developed. it necessary condition correct functioning of the object.

So that the walls of the dug pit do not crumble, they are made at a slope of 5 degrees. After the pit is ready, we proceed to backfilling the bottom, tamping and waterproofing. Sand is poured onto the bottom (layer thickness - 15 cm), then crushed stone (thickness - 15 cm). The layers are carefully compacted, a waterproofing double layer of roofing material is laid on them. Its edges should overlap the walls by 20 cm.

Before proceeding with pouring the bowl, it is necessary to make a metal frame structure from A3 class fittings. Only wire is used to fasten the reinforcement. Welding work is unacceptable, as the joints will rust over time. The distance between the horizontal ones varies from 10 to 50 cm, the vertical ones - from 20 to 30.

Reinforcement in one pass is considered ideal. This method makes the structure as strong and stable as possible. However, in reality, such a process is difficult to carry out. Therefore, the bottom of the bowl is poured first, and then the walls. It is important to consider that the bottom should not be completely flat. It is necessary to make a slight slope of 3 degrees and fix the drain pipe at the lowest point of the pool.

The solution hardens for 1-1.5 weeks. To prevent cracking during the drying process, wet the pool with water. While the pool dries up, you can start arranging communications: dig a trench for the drain pipe, lay it at an angle.

When filling the walls with mortar, it is required to build a wooden formwork. It is advisable to fill the solution using special vibrating devices. This is what will make the pool durable.

After the solution has dried, start finishing the pool: the joints between the seams are sealed, the surface is covered with water-repellent impregnations. In order for the water in the pool to shine blue, PVC film of the corresponding color is used. This will not only make the pool incredibly beautiful, but also provide additional sealing.

The final stage is the installation of equipment that will supply, purify and disinfect water. The pool can be decorated with nice and useful accessories: stairs, ladders, lighting, etc.

The pool can also be made using polystyrene foam blocks. The first stages are identical to those described above: we dig a foundation pit, create a drainage system, stretch the drain line, fill the bottom with concrete mortar.

After the bottom of the bowl has dried, blocks of expanded polystyrene are laid around its perimeter. The material is lightweight, easy to connect. The height of the block is standard - 25 cm. Calculating the amount of consumables is simple: the height of the pool is divided by 25. So we find out how many rows are required to build the walls of the bowl. The blocks have vertical holes for reinforcing rods. The concrete is poured after the reinforcement is installed

The block walls are covered with a layer of water-repellent plaster. After it dries, start finishing. As in the first case, you can use PVC film, tiles.

At the last stage, we install equipment for filling, cleaning and disinfecting water in the pool. The pool can be made indoor if you build a canopy. To keep the water warm enough, use special equipment to warm it up.

Building from expanded polystyrene blocks is much easier than reinforcing the walls and bottom with concrete. However, it cannot be called economical.

A multi-level homemade pool not only looks very impressive. Its walls look like steps, smoothly turning into the bottom. This design is ideal if the family has children. They will gladly splash in the water, sitting on the steps at a safe depth.

After you have decided on the shape and number of levels of the pool, we begin to dig a pit. We dig out the steps gradually. We dig the next step only after the previous one has been concreted. Be sure to do a test water inlet, which will let you know if the structure is airtight.

Installation additional equipment not required. This is the easiest and cheapest option. Periodically, water is pumped out using a submersible pump and replaced with fresh water.

A multi-level pool can be made not only of concrete. There are many materials for its creation. The construction of polypropylene is no less reliable.

We choose a place for the future pool, carry out all the necessary measures for marking and start digging a foundation pit. The bottom of the bowl is formed by several layers. The first is formed by geotextiles. This is followed by crushed stone (layer thickness 30 cm). The poured concrete layer should be 20 cm. Before pouring the concrete, create a mesh of reinforcement with cells of 25x25 cm. The mesh should not be placed directly on the concrete. We put bricks under it.

The bottom must be filled in one go. A lot of concrete will be required, so ordering the mix from a mixer is an ideal solution. We buy polypropylene in different thicknesses: 5 mm and 8 mm. The first one is more plastic, easy to bend. Therefore, we will use it for the construction of the stairs. Polypropylene parts are connected using a welding extruder. The bottom is welded in the pit itself.

When welding the walls to the bottom, make sure that they do not move. Use wooden beams to fix it. The ladder is fastened last. Further, on the outside of the structure, stiffeners are attached (we use eight-millimeter polypropylene), the distance between which is 60 cm. These 60 cm are filled with foam insulation.

After the pipeline system has been laid, the pool is filled with concrete from the outside in several stages along the perimeter. One stage - a layer with a height of 30 cm. In this case, the formwork should be placed both on the outside and on the inside of the pool. Thus, polypropylene is not deformed by concrete. It is also necessary to collect water in stages into the bowl, the level of which will be equal in height to the level of the concrete layer located outside.

To decorate the finished pool, use available tools and items: chairs with cozy pillows, sun loungers, beach umbrellas, etc.

The decorative pool is small in size. It is often compared to a pond. It is not difficult to make such an object yourself, the cost of creating it is minimal. It will become a real highlight of your summer cottage. And since you will ennoble and decorate it at your own discretion, the pond will be exclusive.

We choose a place for a decorative pond in such a way that the sun illuminates its surface for only half of the day. Too much sun will negatively affect the health of the entire ecosystem of the reservoir. The shape of the pond and the style of the site should be one. The circle is ideal for English-style landscaping, and the oval is used for Chinese and Japanese-style designs.

Initially, we dig a foundation pit corresponding to the size and shape of your reservoir. Its minimum depth is 1 meter, its area is 4 square meters. m. If you make a pond from a bathtub, then the shape of the pool must correspond to it. Don't be discouraged if you don't have a bowl ready. You can build a decorative pool of any shape, even the most incredible.

Please note that the bottom of the pit should be even: no stones, tree roots, or sharp objects. We use sand as a drainage layer. Further fits composite material- durable film. Ordinary polyethylene is not suitable for such needs, since it does not differ in strength. Ideal options are PVC or butyl rubber. Butyl rubber has different thicknesses, which allows you to choose the optimal coating for your pond.

The edges of the film should go beyond the edges of the pit so that they can be fixed with large stones and covered with rubble or pebbles. The pond needs a device that circulates water. Otherwise, the water in your reservoir will quickly "bloom" and the pond will lose its attractiveness. The pond will not be disturbed by the lighting system, which will effectively highlight it at night.

To give the pond a natural and aesthetic look, the bottom is laid out with beautiful stones. We place plants around the perimeter (creeping and shrubs are ideal) and various decorative elements: garden figurines, plastic flower vases, lanterns.

For a pond to be always beautiful, you need to keep an eye on it. In the spring we make the first inspection of the reservoir. We check how the plants overwintered, whether the shore of the pond has crumbled, we remove the foliage that has fallen since the fall. With the arrival of heat, we supplement the area around the pond with new plants.

In the summer, it is necessary to carefully monitor the water level in the pool, as during the heat the evaporation is intense. The area adjacent to the pond is rid of weeds. In the fall, we prepare the pond for winter: we remove the dried grass, transfer the flowers in the pots to home warmth.

Cleaning system

The arrangement of the pool is impossible without a cleaning system. If you do not use a special device, the water in the pool will become dirty and an unpleasant odor will appear. A specific plaque will appear on its surface.

The most budgetary option is to use a pump to pump out water. You drain the contaminated water completely and fill the pool with clean water. But this method has one drawback: it will take time for the water to warm up again.

You can install a special installation with a filter for cleaning. Two pipes are supplied to the pump. One of them drains the water, the second feeds the purified and filtered water back to the pool. Filters are sand, cartridge, diatom.

Chemicals are also used for cleaning and disinfection. These include chlorine, bromine, overhydrol or agents specially designed for this. Before use, be sure to read the instructions.

Clean the debris blown by the wind by hand using a sieve.

Beautiful examples and options

A frame outdoor pool is a good solution for a summer cottage. It is durable, easy to assemble and disassemble. This is a budget and easy way to please yourself and your family with great outdoor activities. Distinctive feature such a pool has high sides, which does not always look aesthetically pleasing. But this gives unlimited scope for imagination to hide the sides and give the object a beautiful look.

Create a surface of light colored stones around the pool. Flowers placed in pots will add a touch of greenery. different sizes... At the same time, observe the unity of the color scheme. Brown pots look appropriate, in harmony with the outer pool cladding and a wooden staircase.

If the frame pool is completely immersed in the pit, the perimeter is trimmed with mosaics or stone, and the plants are planted, then you will get a very beautiful option for any suburban area.

For a small frame pool, you can build a canopy. Thanks to this, you can enjoy swimming in any weather, even in rainy weather. The semblance of a tent looks especially interesting.

The frame does not have to be covered. Build a platform that will house the pool. Make the edges of the platform in the form of a lattice fence. Cover the lower part from prying eyes with an abundance of flowers and plants.

A pool with glass walls looks especially impressive. Of course, special knowledge and skills are required to create it.

Various colors of lighting make the pool a dreamlike and romantic place to enjoy even at night.

Outdoor pools are striking in their variety of shapes. The violin pool will be appreciated by creative and creative people.

The desire to have an artificial reservoir in their own home is familiar to many owners of suburban real estate. It's so nice to splash in the clean and cool water of your own pool on a hot summer day. Water perfectly relaxes the body and relieves fatigue from it after a hard day at work.

Do-it-yourself pool construction will help solve this problem. It has long been recognized that swimming cures many diseases of the musculoskeletal system, improves immunity, and helps to get rid of excess weight and just makes you feel better. Having your own body of water emphasizes the consistency of its owner and serves as a sign of well-being.

Determining the location of the pool

At the first stage of building a pool, you need to decide where to place it. In solving this issue important condition is an elegant combination with the overall design of the house and the entire site as a whole. It is also necessary to ensure that the pool is located near the water supply and drainage well, which is necessary for regular cleaning and water supply of the artificial reservoir. After all, long hoses throughout the site will cause a lot of inconvenience.

Do-it-yourself pool construction is recommended in an open sunny area. This is necessary for the constant heating of the water. To partially protect the reservoir from the wind, you can place it next to the house or along a high concrete fence. But the pool cannot be located very close to the house. First, no one is safe from leaks. Secondly, overflowing the edge, water can enter the basement and even erode the foundation of the house.

The best area for a pool is clay soil. If the waterproofing is broken, the clay will stop the leakage of water.

You should also not place the pool near trees and bushes. Constant falling foliage will clog the water. This will cause the pool to be constantly cleaned.

Before building a pool, it is not enough to decide only on its location. The choice of the shape and size of the reservoir is also an important point. The ideal size for a summer cottage pool will be a small pond of 4x4 m. Regarding the shape, it is better to give preference to simple options: a square, a circle, a rectangle. After determining the necessary parameters, equipment, tools and materials for the construction of the pool are purchased.

What materials are needed for the construction of the pool:

  • Fine gravel.
  • Sand.
  • Cement.
  • Roofing material.
  • Armature.
  • Formwork boards.
  • Wire.
  • Sealant.
  • Bars.
  • Hydrophilic rubber.
  • Plaster mortar.
  • Facing tiles.

Equipment

For the construction of the pool, it is necessary to calculate the following systems:

  • water heating (optional);
  • disinfection;
  • filtration;
  • supply and drainage of water.

According to the filtration system, pools are divided into two types:

  • skimmer;
  • overflow.

In the first case, special devices are installed in the pools - skimmers, which are able to take the top layer of water, which is the dirtiest. To replenish the reservoirs with water, holes are placed along the perimeter of the walls.

Overflow systems involve pouring water from the pool into the side gutters, which are at the same level with the sides. Purified and disinfected water in this case comes from the bottom of the tank.

When using high-quality filtration stations with additional filters, their installation is carried out immediately. Such filtration systems take up a lot of space, their location is thought out in advance.

Antibacterial water treatment is a prerequisite to maintain a healthy pond environment. Active oxygen, chlorine, bromine and hydrogen peroxide can be successfully used to kill bacteria. Ultraviolet installations and ozonation also purify water efficiently.

For the construction of the pool, you can also use the following decorative elements:

  • sculptures;
  • handrails;
  • stairs and stuff.

DIY step-by-step instructions for building a pool

Swimming pool construction consists of several stages. For a concrete pool to be safe, comfortable and beautiful, all stages must be thought out in advance. For this, as a rule, they draw a drawing and perform work strictly according to the scheme.

Pit preparation

Internal waterproofing of the pool

Since water has a destructive effect on materials, the entire resulting structure must be protected from moisture. For internal waterproofing of pool walls, there are many various materials and methods. But the study of their advantages and disadvantages pushes to give preference to the most economical and reliable method of protection - coating insulation.

But before applying the insulating material, it is necessary to plaster the walls of the pool, and apply a self-leveling mixture to the floor surface. After all surfaces have dried, the concrete bowl is cleaned of debris and dirt.

For the arrangement of internal waterproofing during the construction of a pool, it is not enough just to apply a coating material to its surface. Great attention is paid to the joints between the walls and the bottom of the tank. To prevent leaks in these places, hydrophilic rubber is used, which is attached with a sealant. The material is capable of expanding under the influence of moisture.

Before applying the waterproofing material, the bottom and walls of the pool are treated with a primer. Next, water is added to the dry waterproofing mixture, the solution is well mixed. The resulting material is applied with a brush to the inner surface of the pool. The thickness of the waterproofing layer should be approximately 3-4 mm.

Pool wall and bottom cladding

The following materials are used for lining the internal surfaces of the pool:

  • ceramic tile;
  • mosaic;
  • porcelain stoneware.

If you build a wooden deck with a handrail at the exit from the pool, then you can place sun loungers on it. Attach folding seats and tables to the railing. A playground near the pool, landscaped in this way, will be an excellent resting place for guests and hosts. And if you add kebabs and soft drinks to all this delight? The rest will be unique.

Building a pool from a finished bowl

  1. The bowl sinks to the bottom of the pit.
  2. The necessary communications are being installed. The protective sleeve is put on the pipes and fixed with tape (to avoid displacement during concreting).
  3. To prevent the composite or plastic bowl from bending under the weight of the concrete, spacers are installed inside it.
  4. Fittings are installed along the entire perimeter and formwork is placed.
  5. The concrete is poured in the following way: the bowl is 30-40 cm filled with water, the concrete is poured to the same height. After the solution has solidified, water is again poured into the bowl, the formwork is filled with concrete. The concrete layer must be brought to the surface of the ground.
  6. The formwork is removed one day after pouring.
  7. The voids left after removing the formwork are filled with sand and compacted with water.

It remains only to fill the pool clean water, and enjoy warm, pleasant water.

The most affordable and loved by many rest is rest in the country. It is so nice to relax on your own ennobled site, chat with family and friends, have a party or have a good time in privacy. Therefore, the desire to make the suburban area as convenient, comfortable and suitable for good rest as possible is quite understandable.

A swimming pool will also be useful at the dacha. Many people refuse this luxurious element, believing that its device will be very expensive. But this is not at all the case, because it is quite possible to make a pool with your own hands in the country! You can also decorate your summer cottage with a pond or a small fountain. These simple structures will guide you through the basic work required to build a pool. There are many ways and techniques for building a pool. We will introduce you to the most popular and convenient ones for your own implementation.

Step-by-step scheme for the construction of a monolithic pool

The construction of a pool requires a phased implementation of the following steps:

  • development of a plan, preparation of drawings;
  • drainage device, thermal insulation;
  • gain;
  • laying of communications;
  • pouring solution;
  • waterproofing, sealing;
  • Finishing work.

Our instructions will help you quickly and efficiently build a pool in the country with your own hands. At the initial stage, it is important to decide on the place where you want to organize the reservoir. At the same time, it is important to take into account not only your own preferences and desires, but also the possibilities of the site and its features. In order to do right choice, it is necessary to draw up a site plan with all the details and analyze it. Several parameters will help you determine two or three places suitable for your pool.

It is desirable that the selected area be free of large plants and trees. In an open place, the water will warm up faster, and in the shade it will remain cold for a long time. And also the roots of trees can cause destruction of the bowl, and leaves, grass and other debris will cause a lot of problems. All this will have to be constantly fished out of the water.

Calculate the pool depth correctly. An adult can swim more or less comfortably at a depth of at least 1.5 m. If there is less water, the pool will only be suitable for children. At the desired depth of the pool, add 1.5 m for drainage and take into account the thickness of the concrete walls of the bowl.

No less important question- communications. It is important not to spoil them during the preparation of the pit. Before starting work, it is necessary to determine where they are laid. After all preparatory work completed, you can proceed directly to earthworks. When digging a pit, take into account the need for a slope of the walls. It should be around 5º. This nuance will save you from problems with constantly crumbling earth.

The next task that needs to be solved when building a pool with your own hands in the country is a waterproofing device. The first stage of solving this problem is the creation of a fifteen-centimeter sand-crushed stone "pillow". It must be tamped down and leveled. Roofing material is placed on top of the "pillow". First one layer, and on it - the second. The edges of the sheets should rise above the ground by at least 20 cm.

The next stage is strengthening. It is performed using a reinforcing cage. You will need 20 mm diameter material. After the frame is ready and laid, the foundation pit is poured with concrete.

The best filling option is the entire bowl at once, without dividing it into layers. But this is not so easy to do, especially if the construction is carried out on their own.

Therefore, as a rule, this stage is divided into several sub-stages. First of all, the bottom is poured. In this case, it is important to leave a slight slope towards the drain. After the bottom, prepare the walls.

For achievement High Quality it is recommended to use vibrating units. While the solution dries out at the bottom, you can start laying communications.

After the bottom has solidified, work begins with the walls. To do this, you need to create a formwork. Please note that the future pool wall must be at least 40 cm. If you fill in two stages, then the reinforcement is also performed accordingly. After you have made and installed the formwork, you need to make a frame that connects to the horizontal parts. The concrete can now be poured. It also needs to be compacted with a vibrator. After it has solidified, finishing work can be performed.

Do you want to know how to make a pool in the country with your own hands inexpensively? The video on this page will help you understand the basic principles and methods of performing all the necessary work. Read our descriptions, watch photos and videos, and you can build a pool of your dreams on your summer cottage. For example, a luxurious multi-level swimming pool.

In this section, you will find detailed recommendations for each stage of the construction of a multi-level simple pool without complex communications. In it, the bowl is simply filled with water, and after a while it is sucked off, and the bowl is filled with fresh clean water.

The first step is to choose a location. Then it is necessary to carefully think over each stage of work, to assess the reality of their implementation at a specific location. Next, an optimal plan is drawn up that will allow you to accomplish everything you need with maximum economy and efficiency. After that, you can proceed to the pit.

Since a multi-level structure is planned, it is necessary to calculate the size of each level. In the process of digging a pit, level by level, pouring is also performed. So, gradually, you will reach the bottom. After curing, you can carry out a test set of water to find out where the leaks are. If there are no defects, then the water must be pumped out. Next, you can finish the concrete according to your personal preference.

This is one of the simplest and most accessible ways to build a pool in the country with your own hands. In this case, you will not need to fiddle with the sewage system, sewage and other communications. Such a pool does not need purification devices. A simple, comfortable and economical pool that not only allows you to enjoy the cool water, but also serves as a wonderful decoration of the site.

Polypropylene is a modern and practical material, perfect for creating a pool. Among its characteristics are high strength, resistance to temperature extremes, reliability and ease of maintenance.

If you decide to build a polypropylene pool, then, as in previous cases, you need to determine a suitable place for it. The selected area must be marked out in order to be able to properly dig a hole. It is recommended to leave a margin of space, about a meter wide, so that in the future it will be convenient for you to walk around the pool, as well as perform various jobs with pipes and other communications.

Determine how high the board will reach. You need to dig half a meter deeper than the location of the bowl in order to provide a place for the device of a special "pillow". Geotextiles are placed on the bottom of the prepared pit. A crushed stone "pillow" is prepared on top of it. The layer should reach 30 cm. Then reinforcement is performed and concrete is poured.

You can dig a hole yourself or order special equipment. Unnecessary soil can be scattered around the site or taken out.

Then the surface of the pit must be leveled in height, laid out with geotextiles and rubble. The resulting "pillow" is tamped. Then, preparing the reinforcing cage, crosswise tying the rods with wire every 25 cm. The resulting frame is laid on top. In order for it not to lie down on the rubble, bricks are placed under it in places.

If you are planning on building a large pool, then you will need a lot of mortar. We recommend ordering it ready-made. This will give you the ability to fill the entire base one time. Before filling, you need to install pipe beacons. They will form the basis for a finished floor in the future. The base is poured with a margin of half a meter along the entire perimeter.

During the curing of the base, you can prepare the elements of the bowl from polypropylene. To do this, you need to purchase a welding extruder with the function of making seams. different types... The optimal choice of material is polypropylene sheets 4x1.5 m, 5 and 8 mm thick. Thinner material is easier to bend, so it will go to build a Roman staircase.

When sewing outside, use a 90º seam shoe. The seams inside are made with an oval bar.

The bottom elements are welded directly on the base. First of all, you need to walk with a hand extruder from the outside, and then with an oval bar and a hot air gun on the other side.

Before laying the bottom made of polypropylene, the base is covered with geotextile. Styrofoam is layered on top of it.

If you do not know how to build a pool in the country with your own hands from polypropylene, read before starting work, not only with this instruction, but also with the features of welding this material.

After the bottom is assembled and laid, the locations of the elements of the future walls are determined. The markup is necessary so that the bowl turns out exactly as you planned. The wall prepared for installation is placed in a specific place for it. The connection is made from the inside with a hot air gun. But this is not the main mount. This is a temporary measure so that the structure has general form while external extruder welding is in progress.

When all the walls have found their place, we move on to creating the stairs.

After that, it is necessary to install the stiffening ribs. They are made of thick polypropylene and should be spaced 60 cm apart. The ribs are welded with a welding rod. The holes for fixing the reinforcement 12 mm in diameter are prepared in advance in the strips. The distance between them is half a meter. In places where the bowl has a rounded shape, additional rigidity is not needed, there polypropylene is already strong enough. The bowl must be insulated by laying foam sheets between the stiffening ribs.

Equipment in such a pool requires:

  • nozzles;
  • skimmer;
  • drain.

Remember to leave a suitable drain hole when pouring. If you forgot to do this, then the drain will have to be transferred to the wall. And in this case, the water, which will be below the drain level, will have to be pumped out with a pump.

Holes in polypropylene can be made with the same tools as in wood.

The piping of the nozzles is made of PVC pipes. The connection is secured with a special glue. This work is not difficult to accomplish. The pipe must be sanded to the length of the gluing and the element that will connect it (corner, coupling). Then the pipe is chamfered at an angle of 45º. The adhesive is spread over the pipe and the connector and the pipe is inserted tightly. In 4 minutes you will have a reliable connection.

Pipes installed in their places are insulated. In order for the insulation not to be torn off during the pouring of concrete, it is wound with tape.

It is important to correctly connect the nozzles in order to obtain a uniform pressure in each of them. First, the connection is made in pairs, and then the central highway is introduced at the center of the connection of each pair.

Filtration devices, heat exchangers and other equipment are best mounted in the basement. The pipes must be insulated and trenches must be dug for them.

In order to avoid the appearance of strong concrete pressure on the walls of the pool, formwork is installed from the inside and outside. From the inside, it must be fixed so as to maintain a strictly perpendicular position to the ground and sides. The concrete is poured as follows:

  • Formwork is being installed. Its height is 30 cm;
  • The pool is 30 cm filled with water;
  • Further, the solution is poured in the same layer;
  • A day later, the pool is again recruited by 30 cm;
  • After the transfer of the formwork, the next layer of mortar is poured.

After the solution gains strength, you can proceed to finishing work.

Pool types

Explore all possible types of structures if you are planning a do-it-yourself pool in the country. Photos will help you choose the best option suitable specifically for your site. Perhaps, in your case, it is better to do without construction and limit yourself to a portable or inflatable structure. We bring to your attention short review the most popular pool designs.

Such a pool will not only refresh you in the heat, but will also become an excellent decoration of the summer cottage area.

Nice shape, comfortable and beautiful. You can play profitably with the water levels by choosing a place with a difference in elevation.

A small and compact pool with a shallow depth will make your kids happy! It is convenient to assemble it for the summer and disassemble it for the cold season.

Usually one is shallow and the other deep. So enjoy water treatments both adults and children will be able to.

The July heat just brings thoughts of water, swimming, cool rivers and lakes. It is difficult to imagine a person who, in such weather, would refuse to have their own pool for relaxation and cooling. Especially if he owns a personal plot or works in the country.

However, not every yard has room for a large swimming pool, and not every owner has the means to build one from scratch. Therefore, in this article, we have collected 6 of the best modern ideas for a small, but also inexpensive pool that will turn this heat into your best leisure partner.

Frame, inflatable and hand-made - then you will get acquainted with the simplest and most economical today options for swimming pools, as well as see them in 40 photos in the design of a summer cottage or a small courtyard!

1. The best choice of 2016 - frame pool (10 photos)

Modern frame pools come in a wide range of sizes and prices. Simple children's option the size of 2.5 by 1.5 m and a volume of 1200 liters costs about 60 dollars (1500 UAH or 4000 rubles).

A more capacious model with a volume of 6500 liters and a diameter of about 4 meters will cost twice as much. But you must agree: this is an inexpensive price for such a pleasure, especially when you consider the following advantages of frame pools:

  • Quick and easy installation (the pool folds up rather than inflates);
  • Reliable, stainless steel frame;
  • Dense walls made of heavy-duty PVC and polyester;
  • Additional support for the walls with dense tapes;
  • The presence of a drain valve that can be connected to a garden hose to gently empty the pool of water;
  • No need for maintenance (only keeping the surface clean and sometimes checking the water filter);
  • Warranty (the period depends on the manufacturer).

Many frame pool models come with a cover that will protect the pool from leaves and other debris during days or hours when you will not be using it.

Since the pool can safely stand all summer, sometimes it is additionally equipped with a body or even a podium, so that this whole structure fits beautifully into the design of your summer cottage or plot. Here's how some craftsmen decorate a frame pool (photo below):

2. Children's and family inflatable pools - photos on the site

Children's and "adult" inflatable pools are considered the main competitors of the frame ones. They are easy to transport and relatively quick to install, although it will take some time to handle the pump. The walls are also made of dense PVC and polyester + most manufacturers complete inflatable pools with a protective cover against debris.

Perhaps the main advantage is the cost of such pools - they are 1.5 times cheaper than frame ones. At the same time, they also have one serious drawback - the lack of water drainage. In addition, if the inflatable pool has big sizes, you will need to buy an electric pump in addition to it.

3. Concrete pool to order or do it yourself

Of course, not everyone can do this option, and the cost will be decent, but there are craftsmen who managed to build a concrete pool with their own hands. So we decided to include it on our list of inexpensive ideas.

The most problematic moment in this case is digging a hole. You can only cope with this on your own if you plan to build a small and shallow pool. Renting a crane today is extremely expensive, and it is advisable only when creating gorgeous pool for swimming, not just relaxing in the heat.

Unlike frame and inflatable pools, the concrete version is stationary, but at the same time - one of the highest quality and long-lasting. To make such a pool with your own hands, a mixture of concrete and sand is usually used, which is sprayed onto a metal frame. The general procedure is as follows:

  1. Dig a hole for the pool. At the same time, its depth and width should be 23-31 cm larger than the estimated dimensions of your pool. This distance will be filled in by the shape.
  2. Install plumbing. Typically this is a drain pipe that will be located at the bottom of the pool, as well as any necessary structure (pipes, filters and pumps) to ensure the safe flow of water through the pool. It is permissible to use PVC pipes with a strong bonding material.
  3. Cover the sides and bottom of the pool with a steel frame, which will maintain its shape and strength over a long period of use.
  4. Spray a mixture of concrete and sand onto the steel mesh using a powerful sprayer. The most popular pool mix today is Gunite (dry spray) or shotcrete(mix with water). When applying, it is recommended to keep the sprayer nozzle at a distance of about 1 m from the steel mesh, direct the jet perpendicular to the surface and move it in a circular motion.

Then it remains to wait until the concrete hardens, after which you can proceed to the decorative finishing of the pool walls with tiles or paint (if desired).

4. Swimming pond or natural pool

Another option for an inexpensive stationary pool that you can build yourself. Instead of concrete, gravel and clay will serve as its walls, and natural aquatic plants (reeds, sedges, lilies, etc.) can act as decorations.

The principle of building such a pool pond is similar to creating a pool of concrete, but it can be done without a steel frame - just try to keep the walls sloping well and not perpendicular to the bottom. When the walls are perpendicular, then for stability they are covered with a layer of clay or bentonite.

It is believed that a natural pool can do without expensive filters and pumps if planted with natural plants. However, in order for them to really purify the water, they need to plant about 50% of the entire surface.

In a natural pool, water must be constantly circulated and aerated, otherwise it will stagnate and fill with unpleasant-smelling bacteria. For directing the flow of water through the pool, flexible PVC pipes are best suited, which are not afraid of cold weather. They are buried in the soil about 45 cm deep. For underwater aeration, you can use an air compressor and high-strength pipes that are connected to the diffuser. Note that aeration devices consume little energy and must operate only 4-8 hours a day (depending on the size of the pool).

5. Metal containers as an inexpensive pool for summer cottages

Shipping containers and other large containers will easily serve you as a pool for a summer cottage or a children's pool on the site. The only problem with their use is related to the fact that some metal containers are not protected from rust. To solve the problem, they are painted or covered with another waterproof finishing material. If you would not like to do this, then use galvanized tanks as a pool, which do not threaten corrosion.

6. Simple ideas on how to make a pool with your own hands (photo on the site)

Tarpaulin is another material that is widely used to create simple do-it-yourself pools. You only need to make a reliable case from scrap materials and cover it with a tarpaulin. We suggest you take a look at the last photos in this article and evaluate how a pool made of wooden pallets, haystacks or other materials looks like in a country house or a personal plot.
