In March, another important psychological milestone was reached - 250 athletes. All thanks to the success of the women's water polo and handball teams. The girls won tickets following the results of qualifying tournaments, which were last chance for a trip to Rio.

Two teams give a total increase of 27 people. But that's not all. In March, the results of the qualifications in the cycling track and equestrian sports were summed up. Now eight Russians will be able to pedal in Rio - two girls will compete in all sprint disciplines, two men have qualified in the individual sprint, one of them will still be lucky to compete in keirin, and four cyclists will also compete for medals in the men's team pursuit race.

Five Russians will be able to compete in equestrian sports. Two qualified for the dressage and three more will form the eventing team, which will compete in both the team and individual events. However, no one will prevent us from assessing the current situation in order to have an idea of ​​​​what lies ahead.

In most cases, the situation has not changed in a month. You can still hope for 12 quotas in judo, five in triathlon, three in women's road cycling, one male couple in beach volleyball, one athlete each in BMX and golf.

Somewhere the situation has changed for the worse. The mixed pair of badminton players and fell sharply in the ranking. The path to Rio is now closed to them, although there is still time to rectify the situation - many tournaments will be held until May 5, where you can score the missing rating points. The other four athletes, nominally qualifying, should also hold on to their positions in the rankings more carefully.
