Kolodin Denis Alekseevich

Russian Footballer

Russian footballer. Defender of the Kazakh football club Altai.
Bronze medalist of the Russian championship and the European championship. British Daily Mail puts Kolodin in second place on the list best players Russian Premier League.

Denis Kolodin was born on January 11, 1982 in the city of Kamyshin, Volgograd region... Denis loved to swim and fish, and in the wake of the success of the local Tekstilshchik, like most of his peers, he became interested in football. I got to the section when I was in the first grade of the school - he and several classmates were invited by the coach of the SDYUSHOR-2 Vladimir Zorkov. The children's team, in which Kolodin played, won 5 tournaments in 3 years.

In 1994, Denis and two of his teammates were spotted by representatives of the Volgograd Olimpia, which needed reinforcement to play in the Children's football league... The future footballer did not want to leave for an unfamiliar city and live in a boarding school, but Olimpia's coach Leonid Slutsky persuaded Denis to move. Initially, Kolodin played as a striker, and at the junior level he often became top scorer... He was forced to change his position by problems with his right knee - having undergone surgery and not training for a long time, Denis both professionally and physically lagged behind in development from his peers, after which he could not return to the attack. Slutsky identified the player in midfield, and later assigned him a place in the center of defense.

In 1996, Olimpia won the DFL and began to play in the national amateur championship with almost the same line-up. At the amateur level, Olimpia also did not stay long - already in the second year Volgograd got the right to play in the second division of the PFL.

In 2000, the professional stage in Kolodin's career began. The next two seasons, which he spent at Olimpia, the Volgograd team played in the Povolzhye zone of the second PFL League. Denis was a strong base player - 32 matches in the 2000 season and 34 in the 2001 season. Kolodin played as a stopper and had impressive performance indicators for a player of this role - in two years he scored 14 goals. Olimpia at that time was a promising young team. Together with Kolodin, Roman Adamov and Andrei Bochkov began their careers in it. In the second division, Olimpia showed a good game: in the debut season, the Volgograd team became 10, and in 2001 they were already in the top three. In the same year, Kolodin could have ended up in Vienna "Austria" - the scout of the Austrian club watched him and his teammates Zhdanov and Ryabykh, but in the end all three remained in Volgograd.

In 2002, Slutskiy left the team and went to coach Uralan Elista's team. The Kalmyk club played in the Premier League. Soon, Slutsky invited Kolodin to a screening at the club's training camp in Turkey. The young player approached the coach Sergei Pavlov, and on February 8, Kolodin's transfer to Uralan was announced. As Denis later said, perhaps he was helped by a chance - Pavlov was also a native of Kamyshin and, perhaps, wanted to help his fellow countryman. Kolodin's debut with Uralan was the team's friendly match with Hungarian Ferencváros, which ended in a 0: 0 draw. In this game, Denis replaced Igor Chugainov, who left for the Russian national team.

Despite the fact that Kolodin was counted on as a double player, he managed to gain a foothold in the club and showed himself brighter than other newcomers of Elista. After 6 matches for the second team of "Uralan" on April 13, Denis played the first official match per new club against Anji. Uralan finished the 2002 season in 13th place and avoided relegation, while Kolodin played 22 matches in which he scored one goal against Zenit. After the championship, the footballer received several offers from eminent clubs, including CSKA. The transition was prevented by the irresponsible, according to Kolodin, attitude of the leaders of CSKA, although the defender had already flown to Moscow for negotiations. Moscow "Spartak" wanted to exchange midfielder Vasily Baranov for Kolodin, but this deal fell through.

As a result, Denis stayed in Elista. The next season was less successful for the Elista club - Uralan was eliminated from the Premier League. Kolodin, who again played in 22 matches, was one of the few players on the team who made a positive impression, although according to the player himself, he had an unstable season. This is also noted Main coach Elista's Igor Shalimov, who said that in that season Kolodin was hampered by the "disease of age." In addition, in that championship, Denis for the first time in his career received a long disqualification - for 5 matches. In the match against Zenit, the footballer thought that “the referee helps them, but he drowns us”. In that game, Kolodin received two yellow cards, both for disputes with the referee, and later the Control and Disciplinary Committee regarded his actions as "an attempt to physically influence the referee."

After the departure of Uralan, there was little chance that Denis would remain in the team. Slutsky advised the player not to sign contracts with major clubs for another year, but despite this, Kolodin did not have to play in the First Division - he began the 2004 season with Krylia Sovetov. The transfer amount was 1.35 million euros. Krylia President Herman Tkachenko said that Kolodin is “one of the most promising Russian footballers, a strong, tenacious defender who can also play as a pivotal midfielder,” noting that several prominent Russian and Ukrainian clubs, among which are Dynamo Kiev, Shakhtar and Zenit. In buying Denis was interested in the mentor of St. Petersburg residents Vlastimil Petrzhela, who called him "an intelligent, powerful, young guy", but "Zenith" and "Uralan" did not agree on the price.

Kolodin's debut match for Wings took place on March 21, after which he firmly took his place in the main squad of Samara. In the first season, he played 25 matches. It was here that Denis finally retrained as a central defender. Wings created a sensation that season by winning the bronze medal in the championship and gaining the right to play in the UEFA Cup, and in the key match with Saturn near Moscow, it was Kolodin who equalized the score, scoring his only goal in that championship. Also, Krylia reached the final of the Russian Cup, but lost to Terek. Kolodin's game did not go unnoticed - Georgy Yartsev called the player to the Russian national team, and on August 18 Denis made his debut for the national team in the match with Lithuania.

In the course of the 2005 season, it became clear that the Krylia would not be able to repeat last year's success - a financial crisis broke out in the club. The team dropped out of the UEFA Cup in the first round, losing to the Dutch AZ, but having managed to impose a struggle - the Dutch advanced only due to the goals scored on the road. The financial situation at the club worsened, and it became clear that Krylia would have to part with some of the players. In May, at the end of the first round of the championship, Kolodin moved to the wealthy Dynamo, the transfer amount was 1.8 million euros. Kolodin recalls warmly about the time spent in Samara - against the will of the Dynamo leaders, Denis insisted that he be allowed to play a farewell match with Amkar, and in an interview said that if it were not for financial problems, he would not have left the club ...

Kolodin played out the second half of the season at Dynamo. In early June, Denis made his debut for the new club in the match against CSKA, and in November opened the scoring for Dynamo, scoring against the same CSKA. The first season turned out to be not very easy for the defender, although he spent enough time on the field, Dynamo coach Ivo Wortmann sometimes did not put a player in the squad. Another negative point was Kolodin's clash with Maniche and Jorge Ribeiro, which almost escalated into a fight, for which Wortmann applied disciplinary sanctions to the defender. In August, there were rumors about the possible transfer of Kolodin to "Moscow", but the negotiations were not developed. Denis was one of the few Russians who had playing practice at Dynamo in the Fedorychev era. In total, Kolodin played 27 matches that season. Dynamo finished the championship in 8th place.

Two thousand and six was the worst year for Dynamo in Russian history... The club finished the championship in 14th place, one step away from relegation from the Premier League. On account of Kolodin in that season 27 matches and one goal. The general failure of the team did not prevent Denis from recognizing the game personally - the RFU Executive Committee included the player in the list of 33 best footballers championship of Russia. Kolodin, along with Ignashevich, became the best center-back.

In the 2007 season, Dynamo managed to improve the game. The season turned out to be successful for Kolodin, who opened himself from a new side - as a scorer. Denis scored 9 goals, which became his personal record for scoring in one season. After the first round, Kolodin, the defender, was in the lead in the scorers' dispute, and at the end of the championship he remained the best among Dynamo players. It is noteworthy that Denis did not score a single goal from the field: 7 goals were scored from penalties, 2 more were scored from free kicks. As a result, Dynamo took 6th place, Kolodin, who played in 27 matches, was again included in the list of 33 best players in the Russian championship, but already at number 2, Sergei Ignashevich became the best in the position of Denis, according to the RFU.

In 2008, Dynamo continued to progress - the result was the 3rd place and the opportunity to take part in the Champions League. This was the second bronze medal of the Russian championship for Kolodin. Also this season, the European Championship was held, which turned out to be successful for the Russian national team, which reached the semifinals. Kolodin played important role in the success of the team - he was the main central defender of the national team and played 4 matches. After the Euro, the transfer price for Denis, according to the authoritative German resource Transfermarkt, increased by almost 1 million euros, while the rest of the central defenders of the Russian national team fell in price. On the whole, a successful season for Kolodin was ruined by the first serious injury in his professional career - on September 27, in the match of the 23rd round of the Russian championship with Wings of the Soviets, the defender of Samara O Bom Sok inflicted a serious ankle injury on Denis. The Russian needed an operation and a long recovery. The injury was so serious that Denis thought about retirement. However, the failures at the end of the season did not affect the overall assessment of Kolodin's game - he was included in the list of 33 best football players of the Russian championship for 3 times in a row and regained first place in his position. Season totals - 22 games and one scored ball into the gates of CSKA.

Kolodin managed to recover by the beginning of the 2009 season and was able to play in the European Cup for the first time in his career - on July 29 in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League against the Scottish Celtic. This game became Denis's debut in another way - in the absence of Khokhlov, he led the team to the match in the role of captain. However, in European competition Dynamo looked weak: in the Champions League on aggregate, Muscovites lost to Celtic, and in the Europa League - to CSKA Sofia. In the championship, Dynamo also looked worse than last season - only 8th place. This season, like the last one, was darkened for Denis by injury. Damage back muscles the hips, received in the game of the 20th round with Krylia, forced the defender to miss 6 league matches and a significant part of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup, including the decisive games with the Slovenian national team. In total, Kolodin played 23 matches in the Premier League, in which he scored 2 goals. Denis described the 2009 season for his club as “unsuccessful”.

In January 2012, it was announced that Kolodin was leased to Rostov. The Donetsk team had the primary right to extend the defender's lease. The head coach of the team Sergei Balakhnin said that Denis came to Rostov in a mediocre form, but noted the player's good prospects. Kolodin played 8 matches in the second stage of the 2011-12 season and both transitional matches with Shinnik. In the Rostov club, according to the football player himself, he received the necessary playing practice for a full return to professional football.

After the end of the championship, Kolodin returned to Dynamo. The team's head coach Dan Petrescu promised to help the defender recover: “He missed a whole year due to injury, and in such cases you need another year to return to your former level. I will try to do everything possible so that we can see the former Kolodin. " Despite this, Denis spent the season on the bench of the Moscow club. In 2012, he entered the field only once, which did not prevent the Dynamo management from offering the player a new short-term contract. In the second half of the season, he played in only one more meeting, after which it became clear that the contract with Kolodin would not be extended and he would leave the club.

In 2013, on July 6, Kolodin signed a contract with Volga Nizhny Novgorod as a free agent. The footballer admitted that his transition does not deserve the attention that he could have attracted 5 years ago: "Now this is just news about a player who came out of nowhere, practically ending his career." Kolodin, however, noted that he has no plans to leave big football... And on July 14, Denis made his debut for Volga in the first round match of the new championship against his former club Dynamo also scored an assist against Alexander Shulenin on the 2nd minute. The match ended 2: 2. The defender continued to play at the base of Volga, having played 21 matches, in 4 more he could not take part due to disqualification. Despite the regular play in the starting lineup, in winter Nizhny Novgorod were ready to part with the player. The team experiencing financial difficulties took only 15th place and failed to escape from relegation to the FNL, after which Kolodin left the Nizhny Novgorod club in November 2014. The player decided not to end his playing career and in the winter of 2015 went to the training camp with the Sokol Saratov. At the moment, the footballer plays for the Kazakhstani "Altai".

Kamyshin is probably the most amazing city in Russia. Despite the dire financial situation and convulsions of the industry, the district center year after year raises young people for Russian sports... Not everyone, however, manages to reach transcendental peaks. But the reeds today proudly pronounce such names of the members of the national team of the country as Timofey Kritsky, Alexey Sysoev and Denis Kolodin.

Kolodin got into sports as a seven-year-old boy, having enrolled with friends in the football section of SDYUSHOR-2. It was the time when Tekstilshchik was gaining momentum, storming the bar at the level of the first league of the union championship. Denis was very lucky with a mentor. Vladimir Zorkov, a wonderful goalkeeper in the past, who prepared a dozen cool players for big football, was the first to see the future master. Six years of intense training were not in vain - Kolodin received an invitation to continue his studies at the football school of Volgograd Olimpia.

These were literally "golden" years of the formation of the future player of the Russian Premier League. In the regional center, young stars were collected and nurtured bit by bit by highly qualified trainers. One has only to mention the now well-known Leonid Slutsky, who managed to shake the nerves of the championship winners last season and only miraculously did not get into the UEFA Cup zone with the capital “Moscow”. The beginning of professional career... After all, often promising players, without getting into the field of view of breeders, remain promising. A bitter example is the career of another kamyshan, Yuri Fedotenko, a former player of the youth national team of Russia, who once trained with Dmitry Loskov. Where is Dmitry now, and where is Yuri?

As they say, there would be no happiness ... It was the collapse of the Kamyshinsky KhBK and, as a result, the decline of Tekstilshchik that brought the head coach of the Kamyshians Sergey Pavlov to the Elista “Uralan”, which was torn to major league... The very young Kolodin, invited by an eminent mentor, received excellent school playing against the leading clubs in Russia. Despite the fact that the Kalmyk team's stay in the elite division for various reasons did not drag out, Denis, who was already a member of the Russian youth team at that time, was noted by several breeders at once. The choice fell on Samara, where many stars played then, led by Andrei Karjaka. One can only guess how the kamyshan's career at Wings of the Soviets would have developed, but financial troubles forced the Volzhan to sell the best of the best, among whom was now the player of the first team, Kolodin.

So Denis ended up in Moscow "Dynamo", the leaders of which, trying to collect as many players of the national teams of different countries as possible, did not waste time on trifles and signed a five-year contract with Kamyshan at once. As a result, the oversaturation of the star players in the team (there were five of the Portuguese) led to the fact that Kolodin was on the bench, and as a result he soon lost his place in the national team. Only after a scandalous parting with several legionnaires, he was again consolidated in the main team of the capital's club and appeared in the ranks of the Russian national team. By that time, his "Dynamo", miraculously avoiding a failure in the first division, at the end of the season slammed the door deafeningly, giving a savory slap to the army champions.

Having received a short-term vacation, Denis did not go on a tour of hot countries, but preferred to see friends and relatives in Kamyshin, dear to his heart. And, in order not to lose his playing tone, he immediately agreed to play in the New Year city futsal tournament as part of Metallurg, whose honor he had defended more than once in the past. Kolodin did not forget about Christmas gifts, equipping his team with a needle and giving excellent football balls SDUSHOR-2.

He also found time for communication, good-naturedly agreeing to answer a number of our questions. The first of them, as usual, is about a super unsuccessful season for the capital "Dynamo".

- Denis, what was the problem facing the flagship of national football?

Indeed, many expected from us, if not a champion title, then a prize for sure. The players picked up such that the names of the fans were breathtaking. But football is a collective game. And individuals are often taken to pull the blanket over themselves. In many matches of the season, there was simply no team play. The average level of most clubs in all divisions has grown significantly. And in order to beat even a notorious outsider, you sometimes need to jump over your head. Fortunately, the Dynamo management managed to take the necessary measures in the second round, thanks to which they managed to escape from the relegation zone.

- And, as a consequence, another question. Is the decision to reduce the number of legionnaires a blessing?

- Looking for someone. If we take the interests of a club striving to win both domestic Russian competitions and successfully perform abroad, then there is a possible loss of positions. In the same CSKA, only defensive orders are made up of Russians. It is hard to imagine army men winning the title of Russian champions and the UEFA Cup without Carvalho, Olic, Wagner, Jo or Dudu. Did Danny and Derley fit in badly with Dynamo? On the other hand, for up-and-coming young Russians, this is a chance to prove themselves. And the national team of the country, too, should not gather at the bottom of the barrel. Moreover, not all world-famous legionnaires manage to fit into the mentality of Russia without any problems. Vivid examples of this are the Portuguese Manish and the Argentinean Cavenaghi.

By the way, about the Russian national team. All fans are happy that Kolodin has returned to the ranks of the country's first team. I would like to hope that for a long time ...

Nice to hear. If the management of the national team will continue to invite me, I will try to play with dignity. Now, with the arrival of a new head coach, there is a review of both promising newcomers and those who already have experience of playing at the level of national teams. Guus Hiddink got, as they say, out of the fire and into the fire. He already has to go qualifying matches collect football players and make connections between them. Let's hope that not only the mutual understanding of the defenders from CSKA will be in demand, but also our played bunch with Semshov and Khokhlov, as well as Arshavin, Kerzhakov and the future Petersburger Pogrebnyak. At least after those matches where I was released on the field, no complaints were made against me.

- Is it possible to repeat in Russia the feat of Hiddink, who won world fame with South Korea?

Now it is difficult to say definitely about it. Russia has its own mentality. And the funding of the national team South Korea it was probably more tangible. One thing is certain - Hiddink is a great coach. He is capable of devising a winning strategy for any team. He regularly attends key matches of the Russian championship, games of teams in which there are candidates for the national team. Hiddink is a demanding coach, but he can find the right words for every player if he doesn't succeed. I believe in his coaching talent and I hope that already in this qualifying round Russia will be able to win a ticket to the European Football Forum.

A number of leading Russian clubs regularly criticize the refereeing, demanding the invitation of foreign arbitrators. Was there any noticeable bias in relation to Dynamo?

Do you think I will complain about being sent off in the last round against CSKA? Nothing like this. Emotions just went over the edge, and the corner flag suffered. Unfortunately, this was the second card of the match. I had to leave the field. As for the refereeing, we did not feel any bias towards Dynamo. There were inevitable mistakes of the referees on duty, which did not play a fatal role. The Russian judiciary did not disappoint us last season. Whether or not to invite foreign teams to the decisive matches is a matter of trust in the panel of referees on the part of the team leadership.

- And finally, tell us a little about your immediate plans for the future and your personal life.

The first meeting of Dynamo in the new year took place on January 3. At it, the team's tasks for the season were announced, potential newcomers... Then - preparatory camps and the start of the new championship. In the case of an invitation to the Russian national team, the continuation is not far off. qualifying round- I will prepare for two fronts. I hope to help both teams take the final high place. While sports are in the first place. As for my personal life, there is complete order, because I turned 25 on January 11, and I look to the future with optimism.

Today the Russian national team will play the second match of the group stage at the home match of the World Cup. In St. Petersburg, Stanislav Cherchesov's charges will meet with the Egyptian team. In the event of a win or a draw, the Russians can secure the first in post-Soviet history entry into the playoffs of the world championship and the second exit from the group to major tournament... This opportunity was given to the national team by the defeat of the Saudi Arabia national team (5: 0) in the opening match of the 2018 World Cup.

V last time the Russian football team achieved major success in the summer of 2008, when, under the leadership of Guus Hiddink, the Russians reached the semifinals of the European Championship in Austria and Switzerland. One of the heroes of that stellar line-up was the central defender Denis Kolodin, who recently retired from his playing career.

On June 14, the footballer attended the opening match between the teams of Russia and Saudi Arabia, and on Sunday he attended the Germany-Mexico match (0: 1) at Luzhniki, after which he gave an interview to Izvestia. During the conversation, Denis Kolodin appreciated the performance of the Russians at the world championship, and also spoke about the phenomenon of the 38-year-old defender of the national team Sergei Ignashevich and his current activities.

- Were you surprised by the score with which the Russian team defeated the national team of Saudi Arabia?

The victorious result itself did not surprise me too much. I thought that we can win, and not with the smallest score. For example, 3: 0. But I had no idea that Russia would score five unanswered goals. To be honest, I believed in victory from the very beginning. We are a big country - in many aspects, including football. Why should we doubt ourselves? Therefore, they had to win peacefully.

How does the current Russian national team differ from the team of ten years ago that excelled at Euro 2008?

We had an individually strong Arshavin. Otherwise, half of the national team remained the same. Remained Zhirkov, Akinfeev, Ignashevich. As for the game, I don't know how the current national team differs from that one. It was just that there were individually bright football players. Now there are simply no guys like Arshavin. Perhaps only Golovin will reach his level.

Is this due to the fact that Ignashevich, Zhirkov and Akinfeev are so good at their age? Or is there simply no worthy replacement for them?

Do not know. There may be a replacement, but none of the clubs are looking at talent. 10 years have passed, and in fact, there are no new people of this level. Especially in the position of the central defender.

- So, in 2022, at the World Championships in Qatar, it is worth waiting for 43-year-old Ignashevich?

Oh sure (laughs)... I am waiting for Ignashevich at the next championship.

- Does it surprise you that at 38 he still plays for the national team at the World Cup?

If you go through your entire career without injuries, then, of course, you have a lot of strength. I also thought that I would play until I was 50. But once he broke down - and the strength is already less. Therefore, God forbid Ignashevich to go even further without injuries. And so that the coaches still trust him.

- Did you have an opportunity to avoid the epidemic of injuries that happened after Euro 2008?

Do not know. These injuries happened by accident, when, for example, I ran in the wrong direction on the field. I did not have such that the back of the thigh was torn out of the blue due to the fact that I did not warm up correctly. I just ran at the wrong time and in the wrong place. Here is the result.

- Which players and teams in the early days of the World Cup made the greatest impression on you?

I liked the game of Portugal and Spain very much. If judged personally by the players, the Guerrero defender looked good for the Portuguese. Argentina has only Messi running, he stands out strongly against the background of his partners. But in general, in terms of dedication, almost all players in this world championship are playing to the limit. Everyone works out 150%. Not like in clubs, when they can afford to play imposingly during certain periods of the season. At this world championship, everyone shows the maximum that they can.

- What do you expect from the match between the national teams of Russia and Egypt? How important will Salah's presence on the field be?

I think you need to look at your game first. It doesn't matter if Egypt plays with or without Salah. Imagine that he does not represent Egypt, but Saudi Arabia. Would that change the result in their match against us? I think no. Unless they could have won not 5: 0, but 4: 0. Nothing would change. I think Uruguay would have beaten this opponent with 10 goals against Salah.

- How important is the starting win?

We have taken a very important first step. I am especially glad that it was made in the form of a victory with a large score. This gives Russia tremendous confidence in its own abilities. The stone fell from the shoulders, the pressure dropped - now we have to rush on the wings to victories in the next matches.

- Did you have a similar situation in 2008?

We also played hard with Spain (1: 4) and Greece (1: 0). It was only later that we ran at full speed in the quarterfinals with Holland (3: 1 extra time). And before that, I would not say that we were running somewhere at full speed. Unless the friendly matches before the Euro played better. But we do not know what tasks Cherchesov set for the last preparatory meetings. Maybe he specifically gave instructions to roll back, check the reliability of the defense. We do not know whether the result was important to the coach in those meetings.

- What are you doing now?

I work in Khimki as a children's coach. I was invited there by Alexander Kiselev, director of a local school Olympic reserve, who once worked as the head of the Moscow Dynamo team when I was a club player. Once we phoned and met when I was still playing. Kiselyov said that he worked for Khimki and took a promise from me that I would come to work for him when I finished playing. I finished and went straight to him.

- What age group are you leading now?

2011 year of birth - the youngest at the moment. At the same time, I study at the Higher School of Trainers (HST) and look closely at the profession. It's hard to decide which way to go next. I just finished my football career just recently. We have to unlearn, look around and already decide what I want to do. So far I have been working for only 3-4 months.

Has the work with children in football changed compared to what Leonid Slutsky offered his wards in Volgograd, when you and Roman Adamov played at his Olympia school?

I once asked Leonid Viktorovich: “How to work with children? What to give them? What did you give them? " To which Slutsky replied: "Look for yourself and decide how to work." I prefer to give my players more ball play. They are children - they do not want to pass yet, they want to play more with the ball.

And with whom does this not happen? Hamburg recently took off in Germany. This happened with other famous clubs. Of course, this is unpleasant. I talked to some people from Dynamo and I am a little aware of what was happening at the club that season. I will not say publicly what was there, but all this is not serious. It's good that they quickly returned to the Premier League and had a decent season, finishing in eighth place. They started this championship hard, but they gave a good ending.

During his fifteen-year career, Russian footballer Denis Kolodin played for seven different clubs in the Premier League, and at the end of his performances he went to the championship of Kazakhstan in the local Altai. In addition, he defended the color of the youth, and from 2004 to 2010 - the national team of Russia. Playing as a central defender, he nevertheless scored about 40 goals in his career, which is a serious indicator for a player of this role.

Denis Kolodin: biography and facts from life

Kolodin Denis Aleksandrovich was born in 1982 in the Volgograd region. He lived with his mother, stepfather and younger brother, was fond of fishing and, of course, football.

At the age of 7, the boy began to visit football section local sports school, and in 1994 the coaches of the Volgograd Olimpia drew attention to him. By the way, then the well-known coach Leonid Slutsky was in charge of the team.

It is interesting that Denis Kolodin began to play in the attack, but due to his height and good texture, he was later transferred to the center of defense. The footballer is rightfully considered one of the best personal guardians of the Russian Premier League of the last decade. Kolodin easily wins most of the martial arts in his own court and in the opponents' penalty area. In addition, thanks to a well-delivered blow, Denis was a regular set performer in most of the teams for which he played.

Start of a professional career

Play on professional level Kolodin started at the age of 18. His first club was Olimpia Volgograd, whose colors the footballer defended in the second PFL league. Denis spent 2 years as the main defender, after which he was invited to Uralan.

Kolodin passed to the yellow-blue under the patronage of the same Slutsky. Initially, it was planned to invite a defender who would play in the reserve squad of Uralan and, if necessary, replace the players of the main team, but Denis quickly established himself and began to play for the first team. In Kalmykia, Kolodin stayed for two years and managed to play forty-four matches for the club. Looking ahead, we note that both in Uralan and later in Wings of the Soviets, the defender began to actively participate in the drawing of his team's standards, as a result of which he managed to distinguish himself several times at the rivals' goal.

At the peak

Literally a year later, every fan following the ups and downs in the Russian Premier League knew who Denis Kolodin was. The footballer spent two successful seasons with Krylia Sovetov, after which, in 2005, he was invited to the camp of one of the contenders for the main title - Dynamo Moscow.

The first two years in the capital team left ambiguous impressions about the defender. He played just as well, but literally from the doorway he managed to quarrel with the Portuguese legionnaires of the Dynamo team, after which he stopped getting into the base of Wortmann's team. The following year, Dynamo barely escaped relegation to the first league, however, Kolodin himself was named the best central defender of the championship along with CSKA veteran Sergei Ignashevich.

Since 2007, Denis Kolodin finally became a player in the main team of the "white-blue" and played for the team until 2013. During this time, the defender managed to win bronze medals in the Russian Premier League in 2008, and also became the third medalist of the European Championship in Austria and Switzerland. Kolodin played 133 matches for Dynamo.

The famous Romanian coach Dan Petrescu tried to promote Denis's career in the capital's team. He has expressed support for the player more than once, even when he missed almost the entire season due to injury. However, over time, both Petrescu and the footballer himself understood that to play on high level and Kolodin will hardly be able to fight for gold medals. Denis left the team in 2013, and Arena Khimki fans chanted his name as a sign of respect.

Completion of a career

Despite the fact that at the time of his transfer to Rostov, Denis Kolodin was already over thirty, and his form, due to the lack of constant playing practice, left much to be desired, the main mentor of the “yellow-blues” noted that the defender had good prospects to play in team. So in the end it happened.

Moreover, after a season in Rostov, Denis did not end his career and went to help Volga gain a foothold in the Premier League. He failed to do this, but the club went down rather because of financial problems. Kolodin himself played confidently the entire season, after which he went to Kazakhstan's Altai, a place that was destined to become the last in his career as a central defender.

Denis Kolodin: personal life

According to the footballer himself, there was no true love in his life. Perhaps that is why the athlete is still single, although Denis does not have to complain about the lack of support in the stands in the person of the fair sex.

Thanks to the rich football career Denis Kolodin maintains good friendly relations with Roman Adamov and Leonid Slutsky. Together with ex-footballers Rinat Dasaev and Nikita Simonyan, the player is a representative of the organizing committee for the upcoming World Championship.

Attack

Description

Denis Alekseevich Kolodin was born on January 11, 1982 in Kamyshin (Volgograd region). Almost the main role in the choice of the future profession for Denis was played by the "Textile worker". At that time, the team from Kamyshin, under the leadership of Sergey Pavlov, went from the lower leagues to the Higher, where they settled for a long time. Such a vivid example became a role model for all the boys who dreamed of getting into the "Textile worker". V football school(SDUSHOR-2) Denis was invited by Vladimir Zorkov, who became the first coach of a promising boy from the first grade of an ordinary high school.

Excellent return on training and the desire to improve themselves justified themselves in 1994, when Denis was introduced to the Volgograd Olympia scouts. Leave hometown and young Kolodin did not want to live in a boarding school. Leonid Slutsky intervened in the matter, who managed to persuade the future famous football player to decide on this step. At that time, Kolodin played as a striker, but that was until Denis was injured in one of the trainings, which required surgical intervention. After that incident, I had to forget about playing in the attack forever, but Slutsky supported the guy, not only psychologically, but also transferred the player first to midfield, and then to defense, doing everything so as not to injure the psyche young player, before that became the top scorer of several youth tournaments.

In 2000 began new stage in the career of Kolodin. For the first time, a player understood what professional football is, having tried his hand at the Volga region of the second division of the Russian championship. In the next two seasons, Kolodin was a regular player in the base, having managed to score 14 goals in 68 matches (the scorer's past affected). It is also worth noting that Roman Adamov and Andrey Bochkov played together with Denis.

In 2002, Leonid Slutsky moved to Elista "Uralan", where he began to work with a double. At the request of Slutsky, Kolodin came to see Sergei Pavlov, who was in charge of the main team of Uralan. After a successful viewing, on February 8, Denis signed a contract with the Elista team. Soon Kolodin established himself at the base. At this time, Moscow giants such as Spartak and CSKA became interested in the football player for the first time.

If in 2002 “Uralan” retained a residence permit in the elite of the Russian championship, then according to the results of 2003 the Elista players had to return to the First Division, where Kolodin was not going to compete. In total for “Uralan” Denis played 44 matches, scoring 3 goals in them.

For 1.35 million euros in 2004, the footballer moved to the Samara “Wings of the Soviets”. Having proved himself on a good side in the first matches, Kolodin earned a place at the base of “Wings”. In the same year, the footballer was summoned to the Russian national team for the first time, led by Georgy Yartsev. On August 18, Denis made his debut in the match against the Lithuanian national team (4: 3).

Due to the financial crisis in 2005, Samara residents had to put up a number of players for sale in order to pay off their debts in this way. At that moment, Krylya Sovetov received an offer for Kolodin from Dynamo Moscow, which offered 1.8 million euros for the player. The sum suited the club, and the conditions suited Kolodin, although it is worth noting that the footballer did not want to leave Samara, and his decision was forced.

On June 2, 2005, the footballer made his debut for the “blue and white” in the match against CSKA, which ended with a score of 0: 2. Kolodin also scored his first goal against the army team, but already in November. On next year“blue and white” barely managed to keep their place in the Premier League, but there were no complaints about Kolodin either from the fans or from the team's management.

In 2007, Denis re-opened his bombing abilities. For the whole year, Kolodin scored 9 goals, which became his personal record. A year later, the footballer received his second (the first was bronze in 2004 in the “Wings of the Soviets”) significant award, having won bronze medals of the Russian championship with “Dynamo”.

In 2008, Kolodin played for the Russian national team in matches at the European Championship, and received carte blanche from the team's mentor, Guus Hiddink. Even after the failure of the first game against the Spaniards, when 2 goals were scored from Denis's zone, the head coach did not change his mind, allowing the Dynamo player to play in the remaining matches. It was not possible only to re-take part in the meeting with Spain in the semifinals due to the bust of yellow cards. Recall that following the results of the drawing, the Russian national team won bronze medals.

In 2010, there were rumors that Denis decided to buy the St. Petersburg “Zenith”, but the head coach of the team from the banks of the Neva - Luciano Spalletti denied the information.

Together with Nikita Simonyan and Rinat Dasaev, Denis Kolodin is the ambassador of the organizing committee of the Russian bid for the 2018 and 2022 World Championships.
