B. Exercise to Relieve High Blood Pressure

After practicing Ovarian Breathing for two to six weeks, some women with high blood pressure experience a large flow of qi to the head. They feel pressure in the head because the blood rises up following the flow of life force. This is no different from the mild "kundalini syndrome" in which the released energy moves uncontrollably through the body.

If you suffer from high blood pressure and have not practiced the Microcosmic Orbit meditation, in which the energy is evenly distributed through the channels of the body, then you can meditate on two points to relieve excess pressure. After practicing the exercises, many students open the Microcosmic Orbit so that their energy flows in a continuous stream and there is no need to bring their energy through their backs to their feet. You can also bring it to your feet through the front of your body — through your heart, navel, and perineum — and then through the back of your legs. Many of the beneficial effects of Ovarian Breathing are enhanced when done in conjunction with the Ovarian Compression exercise.
