Vladislav Bulin: a hockey player consists of parts, and we need to put all his strengths together. Vladislav Bulin: “We will create a formidable Torpedo that will be feared! Bulyin Vladislav and his family

Coach of "Ugra" on working with defenders Vladislav Bulin summed up the results of the tournament in Izhevsk and shared the team's immediate plans.

- Vladislav Aleksandrovich, what conclusions did you draw at the end of the tournament in Izhevsk?

The process is underway. We have flaws in both tactical schemes and individual work with the players. All this is being worked out. The main thing is that we are ready for this work. Before the tournament in St. Petersburg, there is still time to work on the schemes in your own zone, in the middle zone and in the opponent's zone. Errors were identified precisely at these moments, and we are now thinking about how to fix them.

- Out of three matches - two wins and third place. In your opinion, is this a good result?

As for any athlete, this is not enough for me to count good result... Coaches set maximum goals for their team. For any professional, the result is important. It's good that we took revenge on CSK VVS, but we lost to them in the first game. We had an advantage in the game with Hammer-Prikamye, because they arrived on the day of the game, and we a little earlier. We had more time to rest and prepare.

- Which of the guys pleasantly surprised you?

I will not go over to names, but in defense we have problems that need to be seriously worked on. There are those who showed positive result... So far, on a five-point scale of our defense, I would give a "C". Many still have a lot to work with individually. There are guys who think that playing defense is just not letting go. But you need discipline and self-organization. I think we will achieve a result in this regard.

- You work with defenders. How would you describe the defense of Ugra?

I will not say that we have a powerful defense in physically... We have an average height of 183 cm for defenders. I think that in defense we need big guys who will play aggressively in attacking hockey. It should be borne in mind that our market for players is small. Breeding work will still be carried out. A team is a living organism, it needs recharge. Regardless of defensively or offensively, there will be line-up adjustments during the season.

Players usually say that they draw conclusions and correct mistakes during the match. Do coaches make mistakes during the match? If so, how are these errors corrected?

We have a lot of time for introspection. Coaches dig into themselves even more. Sometimes it seems that I picked the wrong word during a conversation with the player, and it was necessary to approach the problem a little differently. After each game, we analyze for a long time not only the actions of the players, but also our own. This is painstaking work. Each coach always has his own plan of action, his own notes. For each player, we have a puzzle of his individual qualities. A hockey player is made up of parts, and we need all of him strong qualities put together.

- The next tournament is less than a week from now. How will you prepare for it?

The tournament in St. Petersburg will be the final stage of the pre-season preparation. There we will either become blunt or imprisoned. In Izhevsk, we played with only two teams, and in St. Petersburg we will have to meet with the top VHL clubs... This tournament will only play into our hands, because we are starting the season with matches against teams from St. Petersburg.

Press service of HC "Yugra"

This is your first experience in Kazakhstani hockey, what can you say about the development of this sport in our country?

- “Torpedo” (Ust-Kamenogorsk) I knew from the days when I played. This is a team with a huge hockey tradition. How many guys came out of "Torpedo" ... they all played on high level... There has always been a strong nursery sport school, this is not a secret for anyone. This is a new challenge for me - to work in another country, with a new head coach. I am very glad that I ended up in such an eminent club.

Vladislav Aleksandrovich said that during his two days in our city he had already managed to see it.

I liked Ust-Kamenogorsk very much. Clean, neat, very friendly people here.

You have been working as a coach for five years. Quickly adapting to your new hockey role?

Not everything came at once. The first two years were very difficult. When I started at Disilist, I was transferred from a player to a coach. It's hard. The specifics are completely different. Today you are sitting with the guys on the bench, in the locker room, here you are transferred to work as a coach, and from tomorrow you are going to the team in a different role. At the same time, you know that these are not children, but adults ... and now you are already responsible for these professionals ... Gradually I began to get used to it, but all the same, every day you need to study and study again. In order to be a highly qualified coach, I need to gain experience. That is why I decided to take such a step - to work with a coach like Aleksey Gennadievich, to learn from him.

You have had many penalty minutes in your playing career. Often not holding back your emotions?

From an early age I showed my fighting qualities. It was in my blood.

Has your experience playing overseas strongly influenced your career?

By the way, when I went abroad (Vladislav Bulin played for North American clubs: Hershey Bears, Philadelphia Phantoms (both AHL), Michigan K-Wings (IHL), and also defended the colors of German teams: Starbulls Rosenheim, Augsburger Panther and Hannover Scorpions - approx . author), learned a little more about this business (power hockey - author's note) professionally. In my work, I needed to lead the team behind me, at the right time to stand up for myself and at the same time for a partner. Abroad, if you play tough, there will definitely be someone on the other team who will come up and say: let's check how tough you are. Therefore, I had to throw off my gloves and get bumps ... But first of all, when I played there, I became more professional in my work, my physical condition... In the summer, I didn't need to be "pushed" to train. The season ended, I rested for exactly two weeks, and then, without a coach, I worked in the gym, twisted my bike, prepared myself, and there was no need to urge me on.

Now, as a coach, how do you feel about when your players come into conflict with rivals on the ice? Usually coaches do not approve of this ...

This is fine. Hockey is tough, even cruel look sports, I think it should be. Adrenaline, emotions, without this hockey is boring.

What can you say about the "Torpedo" line-up?

This summer, with the coaches, with the management - with Sergei Lvovich, we carried out very high-quality breeding work. It is of high quality. In order to create a combat-ready, strong team that is capable of solving the highest tasks. Together with the new coaching staff, we want to make a formidable, attacking, aggressive Torpedo to be feared. As they say, the strong are respected.

Kostya Turukin worked with you in "Ariada", who is now on screening here. In your opinion, what are his chances to gain a foothold in Torpedo?

He came here on a viewing contract with my submission. It's no secret that "Ariada" next year will not play in the VHL. Kostya Turukin was a center forward during my work in that team. We worked together for three months, and he was the leader of the team, leading it along. Therefore he has good chances stay in "Torpedo", but everything will depend only on him.

Can you tell us about yourself, how you are in life?

Cheerful, charismatic, sociable person (smiles - author's note).

If we talk about personal relationships with the players, communication outside the field, do you give them any life advice?

I always say: you don't need to look back, you only need to go forward and achieve your goals. Painstakingly, persistently move towards them. Work with dedication. Only with full dedication is the growth of a professional player possible.

  • With the departure of Igor Korolev, Vladislav Bulin became the oldest hockey player of Metallurg along with Ravil Gusmanov, one of the textured defenders Russian hockey... At 36 years old, he is still irreplaceable and tries to bring value to the team in every match. We talked about age and rest with Vladislav on the eve of the match with Lokomotiv.

    Our reference:
Bulyin Vladislav. Amplua is a defender. Born on May 18, 1972. Height 183, weight 82. Pupil hockey school Penza. Titles during the performance for Metallurg: Champion of Russia 2007; Bronze medalist of the Russian Championship 2006, 2008; Winner of the European Champions Cup 2008

    Movie:"Hit".

Sports other than hockey: Boxing, martial arts.

    Times of Day: Day.

    Drink: Fresh juice.

    Music: Rock.

    Hobby: Crosswords.

Vladislav, what did Metallurg lack in the semifinals against Lokomotiv last spring?

    - I think, first of all, the injuries of the leading players, such as Vitaly Atyushov, Yaroslav Kudrna, affected. Moreover, there was not enough physical freshness. We lost it at the end of the season. All these shortcomings were revealed in the series with Lokomotiv. In the semifinals, they played almost four defenders. We only had two shock fives. It's hard to play the semi-finals like that. Even if we reached the final, it would be almost impossible to win there.

Lokomotiv in the playoffs and in the regular season - these were two different teams?

    - Absolutely. Of course, Lokomotiv acted from defense before that, but in the playoffs Yaroslavl played more disciplined and responsible in defense, that's why such a result.

What have you done well this past summer?

    - Now such an age that you need to monitor your health, as well as solve everyday issues. Of course, I had time to deal with myself, but I didn’t show myself in anything. I rested in America, three months passed quickly. They promised their son to go to Disney World in Orlando on his 7th birthday.

    Did you like it yourself?

    - My wife and I were there seven years ago. It's hard for parents: it's hot all day, rides are everywhere, high humidity.

Which attraction did you personally like?

    - I rode the Hulk four times with its dead loops. I liked it very much.

Has the Russian national team awakened interest in football in June?

    - Honestly, I'm not a special football fan. At that time I was in America, where football is practically not liked. Only in the news on Russian television did I see stories about how our team performed.

If he was carrying a secret, who is the head of the Bulins' family?

    - As in ordinary families, I earn money. All male responsibility lies with me. The wife takes care of the child, school, our housing affairs. This happens in many Russian families. Nobody dominates over anyone. Each of us has our own responsibilities, and we fulfill them.

    - We could have performed better, but the judges, of course, worked unrealistically. For Alexei Tishchenko did not worry at all, this man has already become a legend. If he enters the professional ring, he will be able to achieve a lot.

What sport would you like to try yourself in?

    - But not in athletics, I'm too heavy for her (laughs). Perhaps in rowing, javelin throwing, discus.

Which of the hockey players of the Russian national team of the 2008 world champions do you know well? Which one of them was congratulated?

    - I called and congratulated Alexey Morozov. I saw him in Miami when we went to Orlando. Imagine, I met him at the store. Lesha Tereshchenko called and congratulated. I congratulated the rest of the guys already here in Russia, when I ran into them at tournaments. What to say? Of course, well done, they played great!

They themselves believed in victory along the way final match?

    - Our entire championship played well. I was convinced that they would be, at least, in the final, but did not expect such a denouement. I thought the Canadians would keep the winning score…. Ilya Kovalchuk, of course, is a handsome man!

    What does your good mood?

    - That was more wins, and so that everything is safe in the family.

How do you usually start your morning?

    - With the obligatory reception of a cool shower. Then I drink a cup of tea or coffee, then - procedures for taking vitamins to increase immunity. And then I'm going to workout. But a shower is a must every morning.

How do you recover, primarily psychologically after matches?

    - At 36, you can't keep a lot of negative emotions, delve into yourself. You need to get rid of the bad, keep only the positive traits. There are times when you are wrong, you start to analyze your shortcomings, but you need to forget about them. There are no ideal hockey players, everyone makes mistakes. Likewise in life - there are no ideal people.

    - Yesterday Metallurg lost (the conversation took place the day after the defeat to Ak Bars at the Romazan memorial). How did you spend the evening further?

    - I sat in the locker room, thinking about what I did wrong. Then he had dinner, drove home in the car, watched TV and went to bed.

    What programs do you prefer?

    - Cognitive channels: National Geographic, Discovery... I love informative and instructive programs.

Some hockey players get into unpleasant road accidents in their cars. Do you like fast driving?

    - I’m not 20 years old, I have a family, so I don’t like it. I drive a BMW.

Is it important for you to play hockey for as long as possible, like Chris Chelios?

    - Of course, I will try, while I am in demand, I will play. When there are problems, then I will start thinking about retirement. This year I worked very hard on myself, lost weight, doing exercises for speed. What to hide, the oversized defenders weighing over a hundred kilograms lack speed, so this summer I focused on speed training. I lost seven kilos.

    - Metallurg's line of defense has undergone not the most serious changes, if we talk exclusively about the defenders. What thoughts does this lead you to?

    - Why change them from year to year? Everything is fine with our line of defense. If everyone was healthy by the semifinals with Lokomotiv, they would have a good chance of reaching the final. This means that the leadership is satisfied with the actions of the defensive players. They sign contracts with us - we play. Of course, I am satisfied with the fact that Metallurg's defense has not undergone major changes. Above all, stability is important in a team.

    The keys to defeating Lokomotiv?

    - As they say, a wedge is knocked out by a wedge. Also play defensively, as little as possible to lose the puck in the middle zone. And, of course, with a good chance to score.

World-renowned hockey player, and now Main coach hockey club "Diesel" Vladislav Bulyin in an interview with IA "Tema Penza" told about what is happening with "Diesel" today and why he returned to his native club.

A world-renowned hockey player, and now the head coach of the hockey club "Diesel" Vladislav Bulin, in an interview with IA "Tema Penza", spoke about what is happening with "Diesel" today and why he returned to his native club.

It just so happened that a conversation with legendary hockey player, and now the mentor of the team that opened the way for Vladislav Bulin to big hockey did not fall on the most calm period. In "Diesel" there is a game crisis, but in this situation no one gives up. And instead of whining, Bulyin, like the leader of the pack, rolled up his sleeves and continues to lead the team towards the goal. And even if this path is not as smooth as many would like. But it is not for nothing that they say that only those who do nothing are not mistaken.

TP: Vladislav Aleksandrovich, now Diesel is going through not the most calm times, what can your team really claim this season?
    - A club with such a history as "Diesel" cannot but set itself only maximum goals. We work, during the season there is a restructuring, even if not everything goes smoothly, but all our hockey players, coaches and management set maximum goals. Naturally, the first priority is getting to the playoffs. And this is a completely different tournament. And we all perfectly understand that in order to feel comfortable at the decisive stage of the championship, we need to take a place as high as possible in the regular season.

TP: Years returning to Penza, was the choice of "Diesel" a conscious decision?

    - In general, I always try to make only informed decisions. How could it be otherwise, I was returning to hometown, which I love very much. Here is my homeland, here is the school and the team, only thanks to which I was able to show something in big hockey. I am grateful to my native club that it was in Penza that I was given the opportunity to play until I was 40, and if it weren't for a knee injury, I might still be able to play now.

TP: Your return to Penza "was unexpected for many, and they loved you even more when the standard of a defender. I remember when Bulin was called a" uncle "in the team, a man who did not just go to the site, who could support partners, but when needed" to cram "them and start the whole team. And in today's" Diesel "there is a new" uncle "?

    - A holy place is never empty (!). Now our captain Andrey Kuzmin has become such a leader, as you call him "uncle". Despite the fact that he is no longer a boy, look how he works out every episode on the ice, leads his partners, climbs to the last penny. Here's a modern striker's benchmark. I'll tell you this, the team has a certain backbone assembled from experienced players. Zhenya Chesalin, Maxim Popov, Alexey Potemin, Alexey Ivanov. Now we really miss Alexey, he is a groovy player, but he has a serious injury. Doctors promise to remove the cast only at the end of January, it will take time to recover. We look forward to his early return to the ice.

TP: How can you explain the unstable performance of Diesel in recent matches?

    - We try to analyze every game, talk with the guys with someone in the locker room and that's enough, with someone we have to talk face to face. There are players to whom I have a lot of complaints, I don’t want to name their names now. Most of all complaints are against the defenders, sometimes such mistakes, passivity at their gates, even if you go out on the ice yourself. Our defencists lack toughness and hockey aggression. Plainly not a single forceful reception in recent games did not see. And the texture of the defense players allows you to act differently, our defenders are bogatyrs, everything weighs more than 100 kg on a rebound.

    - Let's not confuse hockey with fist fights. Stas is a good promising defender, so I have much fewer complaints about him than about the rest of the defense players. He is a tough guy and can stand up for partners. But the situations on the set are different. We have never promoted a hooligan style of play. It's just that last year Stanislav often had to punish impudent people and boors on the ice. This season there have been no such cases, although power hockey will not hurt him.

TP: Vladislav, as I see in recent times, you do not have a very good relationship with the fans, there is a lot of criticism addressed to coaching staff how do you react to fan behavior?

    - There are always demanding fans in Penza. Everyone knows hockey. Our hockey city is sport number 1. We are all grateful to our fans, for the support they provide to the team not only in the stands of the Diesel Arena, our fans follow the team all over the country. Many thanks to them, this is very important for us.

I adequately treat criticism in my address, but how do I react? Calm down, I can hear everything that they want from me. For this, today we are working to please our fans more often. I do not see the point in some sort of clarification of the relationship. Criticism is not always objective, but this is quite understandable. I perfectly understand that I am a young coach, as a defender and experienced, and my coaching career is just beginning. In a number of defeats there is also my fault, I made mistakes due to inexperience, somewhere with the goalkeeper I did not guess, combinations of players. Experience comes over the years, I can say one thing, I really love my home club and want to do as much as possible for it. The main thing is with someone to go to the result. We work closely with my chief assistant Valery Kukushkin, and of course with our captain Andrey Kuzmin in close contact. You need patience and maximum dedication, then the result will come, and the pucks will more often fly into the opponent's goal net.

TP: The loss of one of the best goalkeepers Sergey Khoroshun became strong blow for the team?

    - It's unpleasant when key players leave in the middle of the season. Naturally, they bet on it and in decisive games regular season and in the playoff series. Such is life, we could not keep the goalkeeper by force, who no longer wants to play for the Penza club. He connects his departure with family circumstances; even the hockey player's wife asked to let him go from Diesel. There is no good guy in the team anymore, and there is no point in talking about it. We had two almost equal goalkeepers, and then Lokomotiv Yaroslavl recalled Yuri Klyuchnikov, in return we got a very young Maxim Glyzin. He's not quite ready to play at the VHL level yet. Before the trip to Balashikha, we signed a contract with Alexander Galaysha. I hope that he will be able to quickly join the team and become a good replacement for Khoroshun.

TP: Before the playoffs, do you plan to improve, do you have any players in mind who can help the team?

    - Perhaps someone else will drive up from Yaroslavl, but we mainly rely on those hockey players that we have.

TP: As far as I know, you did not take part in the selection work of the club in the off-season, now you are thinking about the future, how will the team be formed for the next season?

    - No, I didn't. But there is no need to focus on this. We work with those hockey players that we have today. And I cannot say that weak players play in Penza. Although I have complaints about certain guys.

TP: Are you already thinking about the future of the club?

    - We will begin fundamental negotiations on the players after the end of the season, but I will definitely say that we will be heading towards rejuvenating the squad.

TP: Do you already have someone in mind?

    - Yes, there is, but so far I don't see any point in talking about it, I'll tell you everything as soon as an agreement in principle is reached.

TP: You're a risky person. Few VHL coaches trust young people as much as you, are not afraid to fail?

    - I trusted and will do it. on young and promising players and we will be betting in the near future. You know what I’ll tell you, in episodes the youth, whom we have already brought to the main squad, gives heat to our experienced players. And it doesn't matter that they make mistakes, they don’t spoil the overall picture, and sometimes they pull the blanket over themselves in a sensible way.

TP: Good luck to you and your team in the decisive games of the regular season. More victories and beautiful matches for you.

    Vladislav Bulin about his hometown

It so happened that I left Penza 25 years ago, the time has come to return. And now all my thoughts are only about our "Diesel", I will try to do everything so as not to let down the team that gave me the opportunity to go to big hockey. We can say that the time has come to repay debts to your hometown. I will do my best that only depends on me. In order not to let Diesel down.
