Sochi Olympic Park is a special place for the city. After all, it was thanks to him that the resort capital of Russia became known to the whole world as the capital of the Olympic Games. The main sports facilities of the Olympics are located here, and competitions in figure skating, hockey, speed skating, curling and other sports. And the Olympic Village, where the athletes, coaches and accompanying teams lived, is also located here in the park, as is the Fisht stadium, which hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of an unprecedented scale and spectacularity. XXII Olympic games.

The construction of the Olympic Park facilities was a critical part of the preparatory program for the Winter Olympics... The success of the games in general and successful performance our team in particular. The work began at the end of 2007, at the beginning of 2014 the bulk of the construction was completed. It was necessary to solve not only the problem of holding competitions and accommodating athletes, coaches, journalists, but also the problem of transport and ensuring the life of a large number of people in the Olympic Park. Therefore, along with purely sports facilities, there are transport and other facilities.

The most grandiose of the Olympic facilities is, of course, the Fisht stadium, which hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games.

The most grandiose of the Olympic facilities is, of course, the Fisht stadium, which hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games. The second largest stadium - Ice Palace"Bolshoi", which hosted ice hockey competitions. Also on the territory of the park there is an ice palace "Iceberg", which received skaters and figure skaters, a small Ice Arena"Puck", indoor skating center "Adler-Arena", now transformed into an Expocentre, a special arena for curling "Ice Cube", two training arenas, an information center for journalists, a hotel for IOC members.

Of particular interest is the Olympic Village, located directly on the Black Sea coast. It consists of 47 buildings and is designed for three thousand people. After the Olympics, it became an off-season sanatorium-resort complex "Juicy".

Interesting fact: in the middle of the Olympic Park there is a cemetery of the Old Believers. Fisht stadium is located on the territory of the former Old Believer village of Morlinsky. According to tradition, there was a cemetery near the village, which was not recorded on the plans for urban development. It was discovered already during construction. Naturally, it was decided to keep it, which is why it ended up in the center of the Olympic Park.

Address: Sochi, Adler region, Imeretinskaya lowland.

I share the stuffed bumps and grains of the experience I have gained from living in the Olympic Park. I hope this will be useful both for the participants in the Sochi half marathon and for all visitors to the park. For the park is a huge distance, an almost complete lack of food and a fair amount of sports and hotel facilities. And in all this you have to live at least a day. So:
1. Transport. In my opinion, "Swallow" is an ideal option. A smart and useful article -. Tickets, of course, tickets must be taken in advance.

Further - I advise you to go to Sochi. Minibus number 124 starts right from the station, while you are guaranteed to occupy a convenient place and rush with sufficient comfort. But whether you will sit down in Adler in this or other minibuses is not a fact. Most likely you will ride while standing. At the same time, having lost time on the frame of the metal detector and shoving to the stop of minibuses with their belongings. At the exit from the Sochi railway station, go "for an hour". Those. to the right of the main minibuses. Route 124c

2. Accommodation and accommodation. The number of rooms in the park is huge. Because next time the fund is not expected to be filled earlier than at the 2018 World Cup, there are always a large number of accommodation options. Feel free to use coupon services and you will have significant savings. As for the Sochi half marathon, the main part of the running community stops at "Azimut 3 *" It looks like this

Don't confuse it with "Azimuth 4 *" which looks like this:

So. You are at the final stop. Get off the minibus. Straight - palm avenue

You are strictly "at 11 o'clock." To Azimut. You go, check in. If they offer to choose numbers, ask the girls what is like with wifa. Different buildings, and it is not a fact that he will finish up to your number. Further. If you have a company of four or more people, check in. "Suite" - two bedrooms connected by a common room.
3. Nutrition. There are few options. If breakfast is included at the hotel - good. But think for the future. There are few options. The hotel itself (in the same Azimut 3 * - quite passable lunch / dinner), near the "Imeritinsky" - several establishments. But there is a long and tedious wandering. My advice is to take a taxi and go to the Magnit hypermarket in Adler. There - we are tariffed with food for the required number of days. And let the disgruntled hoteliers drink 0.5 cola for 150 rubles

Prices are more expensive than in Krasnodar. But the alternative - to devour nuts for the price of jewelry from vending machines looks depressing. Yes, next to the same "Imeretinsky" there is also "Pyaterochka".
4. Leisure. You need to understand where you are going. The former natural wasteland has become an asphalt wasteland.

Because - you will probably walk past the Bogatyr hotel,

and the Fisht stadium,

get to the Olympic torch,

The most inquisitive ones will get to the Auto Museum. Others will lead the whining of children and visit Sochi-Park. That's basically it. For the promenade, I still advise you to periodically use golf cart and not pinch money on it. I walked unhurriedly and "kind of close" in the park, and it took 25 and 30 km. Not fatal, but pretty exhausting.
How can the household entertain themselves? I think it's ideal to grab roller skates from home in advance.
5. The half marathon itself. Remember. Nobody else will tell you this.
- Who is scratching about preparation, accumulated volumes, fartleks / intervals, lactate and VO2 max, control races, healthy sleep before the start, the plan for the race is all naive and confused physical education. All of them, nafig. It does not matter
IMPORTANT! In the evening - post a photo with sneakers, start number, socks and a gel on the instu.
On the starting line - bang selfie
At the finish line - throw a selfie with a finisher's medal.
Athlete, remember - the most talented - run 3.20 per km broadcast at a distance in the "Periscope" using a selfie stick

Arriving in Sochi, one cannot fail to see the Olympic facilities. In this article I will talk about the Olympic Park and the Olympic Village, located in the Imereti Lowland on the Black Sea coast. This is the so-called "coastal cluster".

The opening and closing ceremonies of the Games were held at the Fisht stadium, which is currently under reconstruction: at the request of the organizers, it should be expanded for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Russia.

Coastal cluster and its buildings

A huge Olympic Park and the Olympic Village were built by the sea in 7 years, later to which were added Sochi Park (opened in June 2014, our answer to Disneyland) and the Formula 1 circuit (the first Russian Grand Prix race took place here on October 12, 2014 ).

The diagram shows the location of the main facilities of the Olympic Park:

All Olympic venues are grouped around. It is located here. In the evening, the Cup of the Olympic flame turns into a light and music fountain. If you stand in front of it, then it and the Fisht stadium behind it will appear as a single object symbolizing the Firebird. All Olympic facilities are visible from here.

Olympic Stadium Fischt". It hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic and Paralympic Games; no other sports events were held here during the Games. It could seat 40,000 spectators, after reconstruction by 2017 it will accommodate 47,659 spectators. In 2017, some of the matches will be held here football cup Confederations, in 2018 - matches of the FIFA World Cup. The stadium got its name from a mountain peak in the western part of the Main Caucasian ridge. From the Adyghe language the word "fisht" is translated as "white head".

Ice Palace "Bolshoi"- a large ice arena, the main hockey stadium during the 2014 Games. Accommodates 12,000 spectators. His appearance resembles a frozen drop.

Ice arena "Puck"- small ice arena, hockey stadium, 7000 spectators.

Indoor skating center "Adler-Arena"(formerly “Olympic Oval”). Accommodates 8000 spectators. During the Winter Olympic Games, speed skating competitions were held here, and a tennis academy has been operating there since September 2014.

Ice Palace "Iceberg"- figure skating and short track competitions, accommodates 12,000 spectators. Initially, it was assumed that after the end of the Games, the stadium would be dismantled and moved to another region of the Russian Federation.

- curling arena with capacity for 3000 spectators. The collapsible structure was originally supposed to be dismantled after the end of the Games and transported to another city in Russia for post-Olympic use.

In addition, there are also two training arenas- hockey training rink and figure skating training rink.

Near the Olympic Park is located Sochi Circuit- the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix track with a total length of 5853.7 meters. Part of the route runs directly through the territory of the Olympic Park.

To the northwest of the Olympic Park is where the competitors, IOC and IPC members lived during the Games.

Behind it, not far from the left bank of the Mzymta River, is located. It was founded in 1910 by General Daniil Vasilyevich Drachevsky (1858-1918) on the lands of his "Random" estate. The garden was designed by the talented landscape architect and dendrologist Arnold Eduardovich Regel (1856-1917).

To the east of the Olympic Park is entertainment center , hotel complex "Bogatyr" ****, children's educational center "Sirius", other hotel complexes, as well as the houses of those who were resettled from the territory of the construction of Olympic facilities. Preserved ponds, the area around which was left in its original form at the request of environmentalists.

Today, the Olympic Park is very crowded, people come here both for the whole day and for several days, trainings and competitions are regularly held at the stadiums, various shows are organized. Fears of those who worried about the desolation of the Olympic Park and Olympic Village, fortunately, did not come true.

Photos of the Olympic Park

Let's take a short tour of the Olympic Park. I will stick to the itinerary of our trip here. Of course, the place still does not seem too habitable: all the buildings are new, although in some places traces of careless construction are visible, vegetation has not risen.

The first item on our program was the Olympic Village. Now located here Imereti resort area, a premium resort. Here you can rent apartments and apartments for the duration of your vacation, purchase a home. Nearby - dendrological park "Yuzhnye Kultury" where a variety of plant species grow, including rare ones (not to be confused with the Sochi arboretum), as well as Ornithological park where birds nest, many of which are listed in the Red Book.

Near the Olympic Village is located, built especially for the Olympic Games. Thanks to her, not only was a stable energy supply ensured during the Games, but also the problem of Sochi's energy shortage that existed in the past was solved.

Houses in Imereti, where the Olympians used to live, are slowly settling in, life appears.

Houses for Olympians in the "Park Quarter"

Next to the houses for the Olympic teams there are houses for paralympians... They are distinguished by wider doorways, ramps, and the absence of thresholds. Everything inside is made for the convenience of people with disabilities.

Houses for Paralympic athletes in the "Park Quarter"

Between the Olympic Village and the Adler TPP there is Children's Science Park educational center"Sirius" where the laboratories are located (the educational center "Sirius" itself is located on the other side of the Olympic Park, on the shore of the Imeretinskaya Bay). During the Olympic Games, this building housed main media center for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi... The colorful building next to him - hotel "Tulip Inn Omega Sochi" ***, which belongs to the international hotel chain Tulip Hotels, Suites & Resorts.

Science Park DOC "Sirius" and the hotel "Tulip Inn Omega Sochi"

Indoor skating center "Adler-Arena" and stadium "Fisht"

The "Marine Quarter" is located along the coast, parallel to it is the "Zapovedny Quarter", behind which is a green protected area with a pond. On the other side of it was built "Parkovy Kvartal", which I wrote about above.

There is a hotel at the end of these quarters. Radisson Blu Resort & Congress Center *****... During the Games, members of the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee.

From the Olympic Village we drove past the Olympic Park in the other direction - to Sochi Park and the cultural and historical center "Selo Nekrasovskoe".

"Zapovedny kvartal" and "Bolshoi" stadium

Passing Fisht Stadium

Drove by hotel complex "Bogatyr" ****, built in the style of a fairytale castle. During the Games, high-ranking guests lived here: members royal families, princes, etc.

The road took us to Starobelichnaya Street. This name appeared here for a reason. Before the Olympic Games, Old Believers lived in the nearby area. During the construction of the Olympic facilities in the Olympic Park, their houses had to be destroyed, and a new quarter with modern cottages and all the necessary infrastructure was built for them along the coast. On the territory of the Olympic Park, near the Fisht stadium and the Main Ceremonial Square, the Old Believers' cemetery has been preserved, fenced off from the eyes of strangers by a blank fence.

Opposite Nekrasovsky there is a quarter hotels "Azimut" *** and hotel complex "Alexandrovsky Garden"... Next to them is another pond, left from the previous pre-Olympic times.

Sochi Park and Ferris Wheel

Then we turned to. This is the first amusement park of this level in our country, "Russian Disneyland". There are extreme attractions here: the Quantum Leap gravity slide, which develops a speed of up to 105 km / h; 65-meter free fall tower "Firebird"; The Zmey Gorynych roller coaster with an acceleration effect and a track length of 1056 m. In total, 12 attractions, a laboratory platform and a complex of activities "Jungle", a museum of entertaining sciences "Experimentanium", a dolphinarium are built on the territory of Sochi Park, show programs are held.

Sochi Park was opened to the general public in June 2014. Price entrance ticket is 1500 rubles, tickets for attractions are already included in this cost.

Sochi Park and hotel complex "Bogatyr"

Entrance to Sochi Park

We did not go to Sochi Park, limiting ourselves to a ride on the Ferris Wheel installed in front of it. From here, there are magnificent views of the Olympic venues and the surrounding area.

Buildings are clearly visible from the Ferris wheel educational center "Sirius" created by the Educational Foundation "Talent and Success" at the initiative of the President Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The purpose of the Sirius educational center is the early identification, development and further professional support of gifted children who have shown outstanding abilities in the field of arts, sports, natural sciences, as well as those who have achieved success in technical creativity.

Olympic park

After a ride on the Ferris Wheel, we went directly to the Olympic Park. The sun was going down, there was not much time left before dark. Therefore, we decided to take a tour of the park in an electric car. Per a short time we saw all the objects, and the guide told us about each of them.

Now on the territory of the Olympic Park there are not only sports objects for training and competitions, but also numerous museums.

Near railway station "Imeretinsky Kurort"(until March 2016 it was called the Olympic Park) are located Security pavilions... This is the main entrance to the Olympic Park. At normal times, this part of the park is not crowded.

Next to him - Main stand of the Formula 1 track, in front of which there is a start-finish line.

Museum of Classic and Sports Cars in the Main Stand

Opposite the tribune museum is a large lawn with a green sculpture of a classic racing car. This landscape composition was opened on September 11, 2014 in honor of the completion of construction Sochi Autodrom, tracks for the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Russia.

In addition to palms and other subtropical trees, planted on the territory of the Olympic Park eucalyptus... These trees are able to draw water from the soil, thereby contributing to the drainage of the area. Eucalyptus trees appeared in Sochi back in the 30s of the XX century - they were planted for the purpose of drainage and to combat malaria mosquitoes that lived in swamps.

Despite the fact that huge work was carried out to drain the Imereti lowland and land was brought in, soil shrinkage continues to this day.

Installed near the Auto Museum monument to the first Olympic champion in the history of Russia - to Nikolai Alexandrovich Panin-Kolomenkin(1872-1956), silver medalist of the 1908 Olympic Games in figure skating, 5-time champion of Russia, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR.

Another unusual pavilion on the territory of the Olympic Park - mirror exhibition pavilion... It houses several museums:

  • Nikola Tesla Electric Museum,
  • Museum of the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games - an exhibition of equipment and decorations, including the figures of the mascots of the games,
  • Dinosaur Museum,

We then drove up to the other end of five footbridges.

From almost everywhere from the Olympic Park you can see (and hear) attraction "Quantum Leap" located in Sochi Park. This is one of the most extreme rides in the world. The carriage speed exceeds 100 km / h, and the overloads are 4G.

Fisht stadium

Next to the Fisht stadium there is Old Believer cemetery... It is closed by an impenetrable fence. Only Old Believers can get inside. The cemetery is still in operation.

After seeing all the objects, we finally drive up to Main ceremonial square Medal-plaza... It is located here, now - light and music fountain... Let me remind you that together with the Fisht stadium, they resemble a giant Firebird in their appearance. The same image is repeated in the 100-meter circle on which the Chalice is installed. During the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the winners were awarded ceremonies here.

In the evening, an hour-long light and music show is held here. In time with the music, jets of water rise, which are illuminated in different colors.

It's time to leave the Olympic Park. We drove past the Fisht stadium again. Its roof is now open - reconstruction is underway. Very soon, the spotlights will light up here again and a new sports festival will begin.

My impressions of visiting the Olympic Park

To say that I was shocked by visiting the Olympic Park is to say nothing. The reality has surpassed all my wildest expectations. But this is only half of the Olympic facilities! Of course, I compared what I saw with. Much in Sochi, in my opinion, has been done much more interesting and large-scale than in. True, the Bird's Nest stadium in Beijing is beyond competition!

Excursions in the Olympic Park

In Greater Sochi, there are many places associated with the 2014 Winter Olympics: the Olympic Park, Krasnaya Polyana and others. they can be viewed both independently and as part of an excursion. We offer you several options for interesting trips from our partner:

June 18 in the city, the hotel "Velvet Seasons", on the initiative and with the support of the deputy Legislative Assembly In the Krasnodar Territory of Viktor Teplyakov, a palm alley appeared. Together with the employees of the Omega Center NJSC, guests of the hotel, representatives of the Young Guard of United Russia, about forty young palm trees were planted within the framework of the Municipal-Political Agenda project.

Hotel "Velvet Seasons" is located in close proximity to the Olympic Park, it was built to Olympic Games in Sochi and became the main location for journalists during the Games. Now this hotel is an example of the tourist heritage of the Sochi Olympics. He meets the third summer season with a full number of rooms, a developed tourist infrastructure, and comfortable beaches.

A whole program for planting green spaces is being implemented on the territory of the hotel fund. So, a week earlier, guests of the resort planted eucalyptus trees near the hotel. Near each tree the administration of the "Center" Omega "company installs a plate with the name and surname of the guest who planted it.

“Today's action has not only a good social and ecological character, but also to some extent forms a tourist portrait of the post-Olympic resort of Sochi. Indeed, in the territory where some five years ago there were swampy places, thickets, cattle were walking, today we see a modern tourist complex that meets European standards. And we all know that Sochi is not only the sea and the beach; Sochi has always been called a garden city. Only here you can see unique subtropical plants. Our palm alley will become a wonderful decoration of the Velvet Seasons hotel fund, "said the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar Territory. Victor Teplyakov.

“Young people are simply obliged to plant greenery in Sochi - after all, this is really a groundwork for the future and our responsibility. Such actions show love for our own city and our concern for its future ", - said the head of the All-Russian Public Organization" Young Guard of United Russia " Vakhtang Hiklandze.
