The level of adult European tournaments!

The tournament is the main social project of Gazprom Neft in the development of children's sports. The level of organization of the competition corresponds to the major European tournaments. The opening multimedia show corresponds to the level of the leading KHL clubs, the opening of the tournament and the Superfinal are broadcast live on the KHL-TV channel, and the match TV channel is again the general partner.

Gazprom Neft Cup

The main trophy of the competition was made by the same craftsmen as the Gagarin Cup. Every year after the end of the tournament, the name of the winning team is put on the Gazprom Neft Cup and the prize is handed over to its new owner for a year. Before the start of the next Tournament, the reigning champion is awarded a copy of the trophy.

Three times!

On April 26, the teams "Salavat Yulaev" (group "East") and CSKA (group "West") met in the Superfinal of the tournament. CSKA became the owner of the main children's hockey trophy in Europe and the title of a three-time winner of the Gazprom Neft Cup, which won with a score of 3: 0.

Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee:

“The Gazprom Neft Cup International Children's Hockey Tournament for KHL Children's Teams, having crossed the landmark ten-year milestone, continues to develop as the largest children's ice hockey competition in Europe.

Young players learn from adult idols not only hockey skills, but also behavior on the ice, adopt the qualities that distinguish true masters. Continuity allows us to preserve and continue the great traditions of hockey in our country, to grow a strong team. The names of the participants in the first tournaments have already appeared on the playing jerseys of professional teams from the Continental and Youth Hockey Leagues, and I am sure that from year to year there will be more and more of them. I wish successful performances and the will to win to all the participants in the XI Gazprom Neft Cup! "

The attention of the media, fans, specialists, and, of course, young hockey players and their parents is riveted to international competitions. Winning the Cup is prestigious and important! But it is equally important to feel like one hockey family, where the opponent, partner and tribune are respected. This is a chance to play on the ice of the best hockey arenas in our country, take the first step towards a professional career and, thanks to the high standards of the Gazprom Neft Cup, feel like real stars! I wish success to all the participants of the tournament! "

The Gazprom Neft Cup is one of the largest international children's hockey tournaments in Europe, held according to a divisional model. KHL children's teams in the age category up to 11 years old take part in the competition. The tournament is held in two groups - West and East.

“The Gazprom Neft Cup International Children's Hockey Tournament for KHL Children's Teams is celebrating its 10th anniversary! Cooperation between the Gazprom group of companies and the KHL made it possible to create not just large children's hockey competitions, but a landmark milestone in the career of every boy who chooses hockey. From year to year the number of participants in the Gazprom Neft Cup is growing, the strongest children's teams are joining, the geography is expanding, which this year has reached Olympic Sochi. Competitions of this scale temper the character of the guys, strengthen the will to win, instill dedication and respect for the opponent! Over the ten years of the tournament, young athletes have played hundreds of matches, thousands of hockey players have gained a unique experience of large competitions, tens of thousands of fans have visited the arena stands. The first anniversary opens a new page in the history of the Gazprom Neft Cup - there are still many beautiful and intense ice battles ahead, which, I am sure, will give us new names in the starry sky of Russian hockey! I congratulate all the participants and wish to get the maximum positive impressions from the tournament! "

Dmitry Chernyshenko, President of the Kontinental Hockey League:

“Today it is difficult to imagine the hockey season in Russia without the Gazprom Neft Cup, the first truly professional tournament for young hockey players. It takes place immediately after the end of the Kontinental Hockey League playoffs - the most interesting and most intense stage of the championship. Games for the Gagarin Cup serve as a guideline for the young participants of the tournament, a goal to strive for. In the meantime, they pass their first exam in skill and will to win, learn to respect comrades and rivals, acquire the qualities inherent in real masters. Several sons of the KHL hockey players are playing in the Gazprom Neft Cup today - this is great, it means that the hockey dynasties are continuing. I hope to see the best players of the tournament in the teams of our league in a few years. The Gazprom Neft Cup is the first step into a big hockey life! "

Alexander Dyukov, Chairman of the Management Board of Gazprom Neft PJSC:

“This year the Gazprom Neft Cup celebrates its first anniversary. Over the past decade, it has turned from a regional tournament into the main children's international competition for young athletes 10-11 years old - this year, 26 children's teams from five countries are participating in the tournament. It is symbolic that for the first time the stage of the "West" group is held in the Olympic capital of Russia - Sochi. I wish the young participants an honest and uncompromising struggle and bright victories! "

Alexander Dybal, Chairman of the Tournament Organizing Committee, Member of the Management Board of Gazprom Neft PJSC:

“This year we are holding the tenth Gazprom Neft Cup and are proud that Olympic Sochi has become one of the cities of the tournament. For the first time in the history of the tournament, the games will be held on ice, where the fate of Olympic medals was decided two years ago. Traditionally, the final of the tournament will be held in Omsk, which all these years has hospitably provided us with its main arena.

In recent years, we have followed the path of expansion at the expense of the children's teams of the KHL clubs. This year, all league teams with their own children's schools have applied to participate in the tournament. Therefore, we can rightfully say that all the children's schools of the KHL clubs are now represented in the Gazprom Neft Cup. And as always, the best children's team in the league will win the cup.

I would like to wish positive emotions and good mood to all tournament participants and fans. See you at hockey! "

From April 20 to April 25, Omsk and Sochi will host the Gazprom Neft Cup for the 12th time - a tournament for eleven-year-old players, organized according to the highest standards of professional hockey

FROM MANHEIM TO VLADIVOSTOK

February 25, 57th minute of the Olympic tournament match between the national teams of Russia and Germany. A throw by Jonas Müller and the puck flies into the goal of Vasily Koshechkin. The German team is jubilant, commentators are perplexed, why such audacity from the “Bundestim”, which previously lacked the stars from the sky. One can only envy the insight of the organizers of one of the largest children's competitions in Europe - the Gazprom Neft Cup and the Ice Hockey Federations of Germany and Russia, which two months before the 2018 Olympics recommended the team to participate in the tournament " Jungadler Manheim ".

Now for young players "young eagles", so the name is translated from the German " Jungadler ", it is necessary to strengthen the reputation of German ice hockey, albeit at the children's level. And to prove whose school is stronger, there will be another 25 strongest teams from five countries - Belarus, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Russia and Finland. Including the debutant from the Far East -" Admiral " Ice battle fields - Olympic ice of the Bolshoi and Iceberg, as well as the center of hockey Siberia - Arena Omsk!

EVERYTHING LIKE IN THE KHL

The Gazprom Neft Cup has the status of the only official KHL children's tournament, but in fact it is even older than the Kontinental Hockey League - the first draw took place in November-December 2007, when the main club competition in Russia was still called the Super League championship.

True, the first three tournaments brought together a relatively small number of participants - only 6 teams each - and were more of a regional status, but this did not prevent the organizers from striving for sky-high standards for children's hockey. A new stage in development took place in 2011, when the Gazprom Neft Cup received the status of a KHL tournament. At the same time, the current, 14-kilogram main trophy of the competition was made - the same craftsmen who gave us the Gagarin Cup and the Continent Cup worked on its creation.

With each drawing, the children's tournament became more and more like the "big brother" of the KHL. His matches began to be shown on the air of the specialized TV channel - KHL TV, professional referees of the country's main hockey league were attracted to refereeing at the Gazprom Neft Cup arenas, the number of participants exceeded two dozen, and the organizers had to divide the tournament into two groups - West and East".

The division was not symbolic - the bands actually started playing in different cities. Only one thing remained unchanged - the highest class of arenas. Vostok traditionally played the entire match in Omsk, but Western teams managed to play in Minsk at the Chizhovka Arena, which hosted the 2014 World Cup, in St. Petersburg, where the tournament was held at the Ice Palace and Yubileiny. Since 2016, the West Group of the Gazprom Neft Cup has settled on the Olympic arenas in Sochi. Eleven-year-olds go out on the ice of the Bolshoi and Iceberg sports palaces and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the 2014 Games. The guys from "Jungadler" in the Olympic Adler should be especially comfortable!

THE WAY TO PROFESSIONALS

The organizers admit that the 11-year-old age of the tournament participants was not chosen by chance. According to experts, it was at this time that the young hockey player and his parents make a decision - to continue building a sports career or focus on their studies. Participation in such a large-scale competition pushes hundreds of children, and in total there are over 600 of them, to look for their future in hockey and beyond. From year to year, in the stands of the tournament arenas, it is possible to arrange a real holiday corresponding to the best show of matches of adult teams. Sold out in the "Bolshoi" and "Arena Omsk", program for the public, multimedia 3 D performance and opening match to the applause of thousands of spectators.

In the mixed zone, as with adult idols, representatives of the press communicate with them, camera flashes flash. Parents who have not managed to escape to support their children in the tournament are watching the fights through online broadcasts under the comment of professional journalists. Even documentaries are filmed about the vicissitudes of the great ice adventure in the increasingly popular 4K format. And as a keepsake, the participants will not only have an album from photographers who work at KHL matches, but also caps, T-shirts and other souvenirs from recent rivals. According to the participants, it is impossible to forget this atmosphere of your first professional tournament!

BLIND LONGER, OUR STARS

Although the composition of the participants changes every year, the organizers closely follow the further careers of the "graduates" of their tournaments. The oldest participants in the Gazprom Neft Cup are now 23 years old - a fairly young age by hockey standards. Nevertheless, already now many of them can be proud of. Artur Lauta, Ilya Dervuk, Vladislav Naumov and Yegor Yakovlev took part in the very first tournament - they are quite famous players even by KHL standards. Lauta won silver medals at the World Youth Championship in 2016, and Dervuk and Yakovlev went to the 2015 Super Series as part of the Russian youth team. On the account of Vladislav Naumov more than a hundred matches for “Siberia” in the KHL.

There are also younger heroes - Artem Manukyan, Alexey Polodyan and Nikolay Knizhov took part in the MFM-2018. Danila Galenyuk became the first hockey player born after January 1, 2000 to play in the KHL playoffs, Grigory Denisenko from Lokomotiv made his debut a little later, but managed to prove himself great during the series against SKA.

Andrey Svechnikov, one of the top juniors of the entire world hockey, also played at the Gazprom Neft Cup. The pupil of "Ak Bars" became the top scorer of the tournament in 2011, and after a while they learned about his sniper and assistant skills overseas.

Another significant result is that in the application of the Russian junior national team for the YChM, which will be held from April 19 to April 29 in Chelyabinsk and Magnitogorsk, almost half of the hockey players have experience of performing at the Gazprom Neft Cup.

They are also proud of the hockey dynasties. Over the years, the sons of famous Russian hockey players - Danny Kulyash, Daniil Bout, Andrey Mozyakin, Artur Zaripov and others - took part in the competition. And in 2018, Nikita Mikhailov, the grandson of Boris Petrovich Mikhailov, will defend the colors of the three-time champion of the tournament - CSKA. Nikita still has a lot of time ahead of him to catch up with his famous grandfather, but he must start with the Gazprom Neft Cup.

WHAT FLAGS IN GUESTS TO US?

The Gazprom Neft Cup continues to grow and develop - each drawing brings with it something new, takes the tournament to the next level of organization, consolidating its status as an informal European Championship U -eleven. And you can talk about the future of the competition in the words of the main ideologist of the largest international competition in the Old World, the chairman of the organizing committee of the tournament, Alexander Dybal: hockey development National hockey federations will be able to delegate one club per country to the Gazprom Neft Cup every year. It is quite possible that next year under the arches of the Bolshoi the flags of Tre Krunur and the Maple Leaf will fly up and great confrontations will once again unite the huge hockey family of the whole world in love for this wonderful sport!
