Costumes of the Russian team at the Olympics. Whose Olympic uniform is the most beautiful

Olympic form 2016 - Russia

The presentation of the uniforms of the Russian Olympians, developed by Bosco craftsmen, on the eve of their departure to Brazil, instantly resulted in the already familiar holivars, mainly in social networks. The essence of the criticism boils down to the fact that the clothes of the athletes are more like the costumes of the porter and have only their lower part - sneakers - to the sports style. Others saw it as quoting the official uniform of Harvard students (which is also far from sports, whatever one may say).

Harvard Student Uniforms

As a reminder, our men will go to the opening ceremony of the 2016 Summer Olympics in navy blue blazers with white edging, worn over a white shirt with a burgundy bow tie, beige trousers and navy blue sneakers with white soles. The women will wear the same jackets, the shirt will be replaced by burgundy-beige striped vests, and the trousers will be replaced by beige knee-length skirts. Athletes' sneakers are burgundy.

Russian athletes at an official reception in the Kremlin

In defense of the designers, we will say that, in general, the uniform of our Olympians is quite consistent with the general avant-garde stylist of the everyday clothing, which was presented by Bosco this spring. Clear straight lines, bright colors of the Russian tricolor, geometric print - all evoke associations with the art of the Russian avant-garde, famous for its strong and victorious energy. And, by the way, the current form contains record number names, so what we saw at the meeting of athletes with the President is only a small part.

National team of Ukraine - Olympics-2008, Beijing

But among all the complaints about our Olympic form, there is one that cannot be ignored. See what the dress uniform of the Ukrainian team looks like at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, which was also designed by Bosco. Maybe after 8 years, designers should be a little more creative in their ideas?

Featured by Ralph Lauren, the US team dress uniform is made in the traditional colors of the American flag. Navy blue blazers with engraved gilded buttons Olympic symbols, white straight-leg trousers, tops and loafers in white-blue-red colors. When developing the form, according to the designer, the hot climate of Brazil, fashion trends and, of course, comfort were taken into account. Ralph Lauren is especially proud of the development of luminescent details on the flag bearer's jacket, which, according to the designer, will literally light the way for the entire US team. It sounds, of course, very nice and the concept is worthy, but even a world-famous designer could not avoid mistakes.

After the photographs of the new American uniform became available on the Web, fans from all over the world noticed white-blue-red stripes on the Olympic jerseys, in a sequence that clearly reminded everyone of the Russian tricolor. The scandal, of course, followed immediately. Well, on the 5th, we'll see whether American athletes will really demonstrate the Russian national symbol, or Ralph Lauren will be able to save the day.

Cuba

The Cuban national team was more fortunate. Not only was it dressed by Christian Louboutin himself, but the final version of the dress uniform was positively appreciated by fans around the world. According to the designer, the inspiration for him was the athletes themselves, their characteristics, as well as the nature, culture and history of the island of Cuba. The jackets are made in burgundy for men and in sandy beige for women, with a stripe with the Cuban flag on the breast pocket. In general, the jackets are made with a slight hint of military style - perhaps a hint of the state structure of socialist Cuba, or maybe just a coincidence.

The peculiarity of the ceremonial uniform of the Cuban Olympians was, of course, the shoes, upon seeing which the Russian fans immediately remembered the sensational song of the Leningrad group. Christian Louboutin has designed loafers for men and low-heeled sandals for women. Of course, with red soles. Everything looks stylish and fashionable, and most importantly, as Cuban athletes admit, it is also comfortable.

France

The French team is once again dressed by the fashion house Lacoste. This time, the brand has developed a free form that does not hinder movement and, which is equally important, is very fashionable. White cotton trousers, polo shirts, elongated shirts, navy blue bombers, and, of course, the famous crocodile logo, which was painted in the colors of the French flag on the occasion of the Olympics. In general, there is even nothing to complain about. Five!

Georgia

A flurry of negative criticism fell on the dress uniform of the Georgian national team, designed by the Samoseli Pirveli store. The fans were outraged by the fact that the uniforms of the athletes more resemble the costumes of the artists: men in long quilted jackets, and women in white long dresses, over which a cropped cornelian-colored jacket is worn.

Disputes erupted over how the Georgian national costume should actually look, and whether it is appropriate at all - after all, people go to the Olympics in sports-style clothes with only some elements of national symbols. And here the patriarchal values of Georgia, apparently, prevailed, and the designers forgot about the light, joyful energy of the Olympic Games. The new uniform did not like not only Georgian citizens, but also political circles, as well as, it seems, the athletes themselves: in the photo, where the team, dressed in full dress, is escorted to the airport, there is not a single joyful Olympian.

Italy

Traditionally, Giorgio Armani himself is working on the Olympic form for Italian athletes. At his show in Milan, the designer presented long-sleeved jackets, shorts, bombers and classic polos. Everything is done in black and white colors and decorated with gilded details. A bit of Italian luxury tracksuits clearly didn't hurt.

United Kingdom

For equipment English athletes This time, Stella McCartney, who developed the Olympic uniform for the games in Rio in conjunction with Adidas, is again responding. As Stella herself said, this year the form has become lighter and more comfortable. At the same time, it meets all the laws of sports aesthetics: the form turned out to be bright and fashionable. The clothes are made in bright red, dark blue and white colors and are decorated with prints in the form of the British flag, English rose, coat of arms.

Australia

At the Olympic Games in Rio, athletes from Australia, according to Internet users, will clean rooms, open the doors to the hotel and escort passengers to the plane - in a word, they will act as service personnel. This was the opinion of the fans when they saw jackets with a thin mint strip, yellow silk handkerchiefs and white shorts and skirts from Australian athletes. The uniform for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games was developed by Sportscraft, and its strange design is far from the result of bad taste among the designers, because it was developed in constant consultation with the National Olympic Committee and the athletes themselves.

Canada

But Canadian athletes will go to the Rio Olympics in uniforms from Den and Dean Keiten, the founders of the famous Dsquared2 brand. This year, designers have developed soft, comfortable and youthful clothing: elongated red and black blazers, caps, long pullovers, elasticated pants. Everything is decorated with the national symbol of the country - a red maple leaf. According to the recognition of both Keyten, in the Olympic uniform they managed to combine comfort and innovative designs. In general, the clothes of Canadian athletes are pleasing to the eye, but the Olympic motives are weakly reflected in them.

Sweden

A feature of the Olympic uniform of Swedish athletes is that it was developed not by some eminent designer, but by the giant retailer H&M (which, however, is favored by many luxe-class brands, judging by the number of collaborations with the Swedes). In addition, the uniform of the Swedish athletes is the most ecological - it is made from recycled materials. The clothes are presented in the colors of the Swedish flag - yellow and blue - and are decorated with splashes of gold, silver and bronze, symbolizing sports medals.

South Korea

When developing uniforms for their athletes, South Korean designers, first of all, were guided by considerations of the safety of the Olympic delegation. All Olympic wardrobe items are impregnated with a special solution against mosquito bites that carry the dangerous Zika virus. As for the design, it is similar to ours: dark blazers with white edging and light trousers. True, unlike us, South Korean designers have added bright elements: rainbow scarves and socks, as well as men's ties with bright red polka dots.

Designing the uniform for the Olympians, the designers from the PRC probably wanted so much to emphasize the national symbols of the country, namely, the red and yellow colors of the Chinese flag, that they involuntarily got carried away and clearly overdid it. There is no hint of a communist symbol at all, but there are more than enough unflattering comparisons to "scrambled eggs and tomatoes" from Internet users. A very big failure.

Ukraine

The uniform for Ukrainian athletes was developed by the designer Andre Tan, who made sure that the clothes would satisfy any weather conditions. An interesting feature All sets of clothes became a unique print, invented and patented personally by André, which he called "Diamond Ukraine". In general, the entire uniform is made in juicy national blue and yellow colors, and its formal version is balanced and formalized with the help of a soft gray neutral jacket.

Belarus

The Belarusian Olympic uniform was personally approved by President Lukashenko himself. Its main colors echo the colors of the country's flag and coat of arms, and the national red and white ornament is used as the main print. The formal set is represented by a red jacket for women and a gray jacket for men, combined with gray straight-cut trousers. In general, the entire "Olympic" collection is remarkable in that it includes not just sportswear, but also feminine items in casual and smart casual style: pencil skirts below the knee and tight-fitting midi dresses with a print in the form of a national ornament presented in cornflower blue and red. The development of the Olympic uniform was carried out by Belarusian designers Yulia Latushkina and Ivan Aiplatov.

Summer opening ceremony is approaching Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and the time has come to assess how the national teams are ready for the main sporting event 2016 year. In particular, whether they face a fashionable sentence for the uniforms in which athletes will parade under national flags at the opening and closing ceremonies.

V social networks A discussion broke out about the appearance of the parade uniform of the Russian national team after the meeting of the athletes in the Kremlin. Some laugh and say that these suits look more like waiters 'liveries, while others believe that our athletes' uniforms are normal, nothing like that, and even very festive and stylish. Nevertheless, let's compare ourselves.

This is what the front door looks like Olympic uniform Russian athletes from Bosco Sport... Now let's compare it with the uniforms of the national teams of other countries.

The Cuban national team this year will defile in louboutins and in delightful pants in the truest sense of the word. The designer of this uniform is Christian Louboutin.

The uniform for the Canadian national team was invented by brothers Dan and Dean Caten from famous brand DSquared2, and was manufactured by the Hudson's Bay department store chain.

The duo of designers is renowned for the perfect fit, which can be seen in how wonderful their creations fit the figures of athletes.

The UK team will be wearing designer Stella McCartney jerseys made by sportswear brand Adidas. Stella did not regret national attributes in decorating the uniform.

By the way, the uniform turned out to be not only beautiful and stylish, but also more ergonomic: the fabric from which it is sewn is 10% lighter than the fabric of the uniform of athletes at the 2012 Olympics in London.

The ubiquitous Swedish clothing retailer H&M is here too, dressing Olympians and Paralympians for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics using the colors of the national flag.

Leggings, T-shirts, hoodies and everything else are made in sustainable ways. Although they do not have “Sweden” written in large letters, it is safe to say that this is a very patriotic and beautiful uniform that athletes will be proud to wear.

Designer Ralph Lauren dressed the US Olympic team once again while staying true to his classic aesthetic. The uniform, painted in the colors of the national flag, was featured on the Today Show. Despite the full compliance with the dress code of the International Olympic Committee, many critics called this version of the form insufficiently athletic.

National team South Korea, like the American team, in its form more resembles members of an elite country club. The shape is sewn in such a way as to exclude the possibility of infection with the Zika virus from mosquitoes. By the way, the creators of the Russian Olympic uniform followed the example of the Koreans. Maybe she didn't seem so stylish to many, but now we are already calm for our athletes: no Zika will pass!

The French national team will wear uniforms from Lacoste, a brand created by tennis player René Lacoste. The style of the French uniform was considered by some to be too strict and not youthful enough, but you still cannot find fault with the cut and design.

The Australia squad will be dressed in retro style with a nod to the 1924 Olympics. Designed by Sportscraft. By the way, the Australian national team this year will go down in the history of the Olympics due to the fact that athletes will be supplied with condoms on the road that protect against the Zika virus.

The most resourceful, it seems, turned out to be the designers of the Bosco company, which since 2002 has been responsible for appearance Olympic and Paralympic teams of Russia. In 2016, the presentation of the uniform turned into another scandal around the Russian Olympic team: the ceremonial version turned out to be too similar to the uniform of the Ukrainians at the 2008 Games in Beijing. For Bosco, this is not the first such incident - when in 2012 the company developed Olympic equipment for Ukrainians and Russians, the patterns on the uniforms of both teams were so similar that without close scrutiny they could only be distinguished by color.

The coincidences do not end there: the ceremonial uniform of the South Korean team also resembles the Russian one. The Koreans are unlikely to be called the most stylish team of the year, but they will certainly be called one of the most technologically advanced. Local designers have figured out how to protect athletes from the Zika virus (a mosquito-borne virus of the Aedes genus, which outbreak occurred in Brazil a year ago): the fabric of their uniforms is impregnated with a mosquito repellent. The Russians decided the issue of protection against the virus differently: according to the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova, for this purpose they lengthened the sleeves of the athletes' clothes.

In Australia, the question of the well-being of the members of the national team was also taken seriously. A local pharmaceutical company announced in the spring that it was developing condoms to prevent the spread of the Zika virus, which is also sexually transmitted, and promised to supply them to its athletes. The Australians took a simpler approach to the design of the uniform: the shoes of the Olympians were provided by the democratic American brand Tom's, and the local sports brand Sportscraft.

Not all countries immediately took the form of their team. In Iran, it had to be hastily altered: the first version of the suits of the Iranian Olympians was compared by the inhabitants of the country with the classic orange and blue eraser. The Iranians found the design so bad that one of the most popular was the joke about ISIS taking responsibility for designing it. The design was changed, but the current version does not cause enthusiasm among the residents of the country either - now it is compared to a clown costume or pizza, but nothing can be changed. A heated debate over the Olympic uniform has also developed in Georgia, where more than 7,000 residents of the country have signed an online petition against the adopted design. In their opinion, it is more suitable for a folklore ensemble than for athletes at competitions.

The presentation of the American uniform from Ralph Lauren caused a stir in Runet. The reason was T-shirts made in national colors - red, blue and white. The stripes repeating the sequence of colors on the Russian flag have become the reason for the most daring assumptions. Someone hopes that this is how the designer secretly expressed support for Russia; others joke that the medals of American athletes will count towards the Russian national team, which has become thinner due to the doping scandal.

Preparations for the 2016 Olympic Games are underway on all fronts. In addition to sports forecasts and technical issues - the lack of preparation of stadiums and hotels in Rio de Janeiro has already angered Tina Kandelaki - there is also an aesthetic aspect. Today in Paris the presentation of the Olympic form of the French national team took place, shortly before that the equipment of athletes was presented in Italy, the USA, Canada and Russia.

The uniform for the national team of our country was traditionally created by the BOSCO company, which has been working in this direction for 15 years. It is assumed that athletes will wear it at the closing ceremony of the Games. All suits are designed individually for each athlete and take into account the peculiarities of their figures. The design of things traces elements of Cuban culture, which has become the main source of inspiration. In addition, the designers turned to sports history countries and found in the victories of the previous generation of athletes that motivation and passion for moving forward that they wanted to convey to the new team. For men, the suits are made in red, and in female form a beige shade prevails. All shoes are made of delicate calfskin and are decorated with a five-pointed star, which can be seen on the country's flag.
