Winter Paralympics medal standings.

"Championship" together with "VOLKSWAGEN Group Rus", which is the general partner of the Paralympic winter games 2014, completes the project "Paralympics in Sochi". Summing up the results of the Paralympic Games and congratulating the Russian team on a convincing victory in the overall standings.

The Winter Paralympic Games in Sochi have come to an end. As in the Olympics, Russian athletes performed just brilliantly, having won overall medal standings prefabricated. 80 medals, no matter how you look at it, is a phenomenal result. Prior to this, the record for the number of medals at the Winter Paralympics was 70 awards of the Austrian national team in Sarajevo. That achievement remained unconquered for three decades. Yes, some new sports have been added to the Games program, but this does not negate the fact that our athletes at the home Paralympics have become real heroes.

Roman Petushkov, who competed in cross-country skiing and biathlon in a sitting position, became the main star of the 2014 Games. Six gold medals are simply amazing results. Having won three medals of the highest dignity in each of these two sports, Roman became the most successful athlete in the Paralympics. According to him, the support of the stands was simply phenomenal: “The stands shouted: 'Roman, you need a fifth gold', so I just could not help but take first place,” the athlete said after winning another medal of the highest standard.

German Anna Schaffelhuber won five gold medals in alpine skiing also in a sitting position. No one could keep up with the young athlete on the snowy Sochi slopes. Another heroine of the Games was another representative of alpine skiing, a Frenchwoman Marie Boche... She became a four-time Paralympic winner in a standing position.

In cross-country skiing, the Russians traditionally performed very strongly. Outdid all competitors in Vancouver Irek Zaripov... In Sochi, another Russian became the strongest on the track - Roman Petushkov... He submitted a kilometer sprint, and gold was also mined in the 15 km race and the 4x2.5 km open relay with Russian team... In women, she showed herself wonderfully Anna Milenina, who performed in a standing position and won three medals in Sochi, two of which turned out to be gold. Of the foreign athletes in cross-country skiing, the Canadian showed himself especially well Brian McKeever who climbed to the top step of the podium in all three personal races for athletes with visual impairments.

By tradition, the brightest and most stubborn struggle in the finish corridor was in the sprint races. In women in a sitting position, Norwegian Marian Martinsen turned out to be slightly faster than her opponents, and in men in a standing position Kirill Mikhailov who won the gold award, Ruslan Minnegulov and Vladislav Lekomtsev staged a real thriller at the home stretch.

In biathlon, the Russians also performed very well. Petushkov again left his rivals no chance, having won three convincing victories at distances of 7.5, 12.5 and 15 kilometers. Have women's team Mikhalina Lysova played the role of a locomotive, who was the fastest among athletes with visual impairments, winning two gold and silver. With exactly the same set of awards, Ukrainian Vitaly Lukyanenko, who played in the same category of athletes and became the most successful foreign biathlete of the 2014 Games, leaves Sochi.

The most stubborn wrestling was at a distance of 7.5 kilometers among men in a standing position. Vladislav Lekomtsev less than a second ahead of the Canadian Mark Arends, to whom, in turn, another representative of the Russian team lost half a second Azat Karachurin.

Russians have never performed successfully in alpine skiing. In the same Vancouver, our athletes did not manage to win a single award, but only four years later Russian athletes became the most successful skiers of the Paralympics! Alexandra Frantseva and Valery Redkozubov who competed in the category of athletes with visual impairments, and Alexey Bugaev the winners in the sitting position brought our team two gold medals each. And at the same time, six more medals of a different value. In addition to these awards, our other athletes have climbed the podium four more times. An excellent achievement, and it's even hard to believe that until recently our team was among the laggards in this sport.

The hardest fight for gold medal took place in the super-giant among athletes with visual impairments, in which the three prize-winners fit into 0.19 seconds - a lag that is more characteristic of the competitions of the Olympic, not the Paralympic program. This once again emphasizes how high the degree of wrestling is at the Paralympic Games and what strong and talented athletes are in these competitions.

Inga Medvedeva, the silver medalist in downhill and standing slalom, confirmed that the difference between athletes participating in the Olympic and Paralympic Games is not so big: “There is no difference in the sport of Olympians and Paralympians - you have fun, but only it is more difficult for you! It builds character. "

In sledge hockey, the Russian national team made its debut at the Games, but this did not prevent it from becoming the main discovery of the tournament. The team, created quite recently, has given a fitting rebuff to the leaders of world hockey and absolutely rightly won the silver medals. Moreover, no one would dare to say that our team lost in the final - they are real winners. Moreover, with the strongest national team - the American - the Russians met in Sochi twice and left the "Stars and Stripes" out of work at the group stage. In general, our team performed simply brilliantly and achieved a result that, as we would like to believe, will help to draw attention to this sport and contribute to its development in the country.

In curling, our team also achieved a historic result in the form of silver medals. V decisive match Russians, like hockey players, lost only to the world leader - Canada. At the group stage in the round-robin tournament, we lost with a minimum score to the same Maple Leaves. This failure remained the only one until the final. After a good start of the Russians, the rivals played stronger and confidently defeated our team, which can rightfully be proud of the excellent result.

The past home Paralympics became super successful both from the point of view of organization and from the point of view of the performance of Russian athletes at the home Games, who won record number awards. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak emphasized the importance of the social impact of the Paralympics: “The Paralympic Games have become one of the key social projects recent years in Russia ", and the President of the International Paralympic Committee Philip Craven summed up the Games:" You showed the world that absolutely everything is possible and that life has amazing possibilities, there are no insurmountable restrictions. "

Paralympics. The Russians took the entire podium in cross-country skiing 15 km. sitting.

Russian skier Roman Petushkov took first place in ski race 15 kilometers in the sitting category at the Sochi Paralympic Games.

Petushkov covered the track in 40 minutes 51.6 seconds. The second and third places were also taken by Russian athletes: Irek Zaripov (+1.3.5) and Alexander Davidovich (+1.17.0).

For Roman Petushkov, this is the second gold in Sochi. The skier took the first medal in biathlon competitions at a distance of 7.5 km.

Disqualification is not a hindrance to medals

Disqualification of Inga Medvedeva, gold medals of skiers Rushan Minnegulov and Elena Remizova and five more awards from Russians of various denominations in the review of the third day of competition at the Paralympics in Sochi.

The main contribution to the medal box of the Russian national team on the third day of the competition at the Winter Paralympic Games in Sochi was made by inimitable skiers. Six awards at the end of March 10 were on the account of the representatives of this sport.

Our athletes are confidently leading in the team competition.

Good morning, dear sports fans! Pravda-TV.Ru begins the text broadcast of the third day of the XI Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi.

On the third competitive day, March 13 of the XI Winter Paralympic Games 2014 in Sochi, seven sets of medals will be played: three in alpine skiing(in the super-giant among women, visually impaired, standing and sitting) and four - in cross-country skiing (20 km in the classical style for men standing and with visual impairment, 15 km in the classic style for women standing and with visual impairment). Russia has broken the record for the most gold medals. 18 gold slow! This is a world record.

And I hope that now we are being read by people who, due to wild injustice, also found themselves in a similar situation and do not see a way out of it. So, you should know - there is a way out! He is in front of your eyes. The main thing is to believe and not give up, and everything will be fine there, for sure! And the way the XI Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi were held and were organized is a real answer to all critics who speak of some profanity and a waste of money. Look at these people again, how can you say that by looking at them? And even if in Russia, and in the world there are still many people with disabilities who need support. I would like to believe that this Paralympics will force all of us to pay a little more attention to such people, this sport and their life in general.

However, they did not break the main records now. These guys break all unthinkable records every day - going out to training, overcoming themselves, overcoming their ailments and leaving all problems aside. They are an example for all of us! They are an example for the whole world. An example of how to live and enjoy every moment of this life. An example of the fact that in case of any difficulty you do not need to withdraw into yourself and close yourself off from everyone around - look at the happy faces of these guys and girls. They are absolutely happy these days. They are happy to be in sports. They are happy that they did not break down and were able to find a second calling in this life. They are happy with the support of the audience during these nine days ...

Photo: RIA Novosti

Let's summarize. Although there is really nothing to let down here. The Russian national team won 80 medals at these Games - 30 gold, 28 silver and 22 bronze. Nice numbers, aren't they? No, just fantastic performance! These Games became the best in the history of Russia. Our Paralympians were able to break the record for the total number of medals.

But now that's all - Canadian Joyns, who was in the lead after the first attempt, could not finish in the second descent. Gold goes to Anna Schaffelhuber from Germany, silver from Claudia Loch from Austria, bronze from another German woman - Anne-Lena Forster. ALL MEDALS OF THE XI PARALYMPIC GAMES OF 2014 IN SOCHI WERE PLAYED!

Three athletes are left to compete at this Paralympics. So far, an Austrian woman with an interesting surname Loch is in the lead in alpine skiing. But ahead of the best trio according to the results of the first attempt.

By the way, apparently, the standard-bearer of our country at the closing ceremony of the Paralympics will be Mikhalina Lysova, and not Kirill Mikhailov, as previously reported. This was announced by the first vice-president of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) Pavel Rozhkov. At the Paralympics in Sochi, Lysova won six medals - three gold and three silver.

Well, the last set of awards for this Paralympic Games is being played out now - the second attempt for the women in the seated giant slalom. There are no Russian women there, so we'll just watch the course of events.

Medvedeva remains in sixth position after two attempts. The gold goes to the Frenchwoman Boche, the silver belongs to the German woman Rotfuss, the bronze medal also goes to France - it is received by Solen Zhambak.

Yes, Russian women won’t have any medals in this category today. Maria Papulova was unable to finish.

Medvedev passed her second attempt well, she is in the lead now, but for some reason it seems that this result will not be enough for Inge before the medal.

Sasha Frantseva! This athlete brings another medal of our team. Alexandra becomes the silver medalist in the giant slalom competition among athletes with visual impairments. 80th medal of the Russian national team! Will she be the last? Or will Inga Medvedeva or Maria Papulova manage to create a miracle and win another medal? Let's see now. Only one competition remained with the participation of the Russians.

No, it won't ... Maxim Yarovyi from Ukraine accelerated in the last meters of the distance and retained the second position. Thus, the representative of the Canadian national team gets the gold, the silver from Ukraine, the bronze from our Grigory Murygin. On this program ski competitions this Paralympics is over ... Sad. You guys are heroes! The whole country is proud of you, without exception!

Petushkov is inferior to Murygin for about 4 seconds. The novel is still the third. Petushkov will not have the seventh gold. The question is, will there be a medal ...

Well, the leaders of our race are at the finish line. Klebl was the first, Murygin ended up losing 26 seconds to him. What place will Gregory have?

900 m to the finish line - Klebl does not give up his positions! Murygin loses to him by 29 seconds, apparently, he cannot catch up. Petushkov is third here, 33 seconds behind. What will happen in the end ?! It is unlikely that anyone will be able to take the gold away from the Canadian skier.

What a Canadian! Klebl continues to lead after the 6.6 km mark. Grigory Murygin is 17 seconds behind him, Roman Petushkov - 22 seconds. The finish line is 4.4 km away. I would like to believe that the Russians have competently spread their forces in terms of distance and will now begin to improve.

At the 4.1 km mark, the lead is taken rather unexpectedly by Canadian Chris Klebl. Murygin is the second, Petushkov is the third. Although the lags are minimal.

In alpine skiing for women, the second attempt in giant slalom started. The first to go down the slope were girls with visual impairments. Our Alexandra Frantseva takes second place after the first attempt.

Petushkov controls everything. At the next mark, he is already in the lead. Murygin is the second, Zaripov is the fifth.

The first control mark in men. Grigory Murygin is in the lead, his close friend Roman Petushkov is still fourth, the second position is occupied by the hero of the last Paralympics in Vancouver Irek Zaripov.

Everything! The German national team gets another gold - German Andrea Eskau won it. Silver for the team of Ukraine thanks to the efforts of Lyudmila Pavlenko, bronze for the American Oksana Masters. The women's program of cross-country skiing at the XI Paralympic Winter Games is over! There were only men and their 10 km sitting.

Yes, for some reason, the women's race is still not working out for ours. The fight for gold is between the German Eskau and the Ukrainian skier Pavlenko. It will be difficult for ours to even get into medals.

German Andrea Eskau is in the lead among women. As a rule, it is not enough for the second part of the distance. What will happen now? Sveta Konovalova needs to accelerate. After half the distance, she is 42 seconds behind the leader.

The Russians do not start too quickly. Konovalov is generally 11th at the first mark, losing more than 25 seconds. The best of ours here is Marta Zainullina - the third position.

Almost after the girls, the men start sitting. Here our main hopes, of course, are associated with the six-time champion of these Games Roman Petushkov.

We have started a women's race among athletes in the "sitting" position. 20 participants in the start list, including four Russians. Our main hope is Svetlana Konovalova.

So, in our ski program of these Games, there are only two races left - for 5 km for women sitting and for 10 km for men while sitting. The first one will start at 12.30 Moscow time.

OUR PODIUM! What a finishing spurt Yulia Budaleeva manages! She was able to get ahead by 15 seconds. Oksana Shishkova and secured herself at least a bronze! Lysova finishes next - only 0.9 seconds. Mikhalina is ahead of her friend in the national team. Well, the winner is Elena Remizova, who surpassed Lysova's time by another 3 seconds. Russia has all three medals! Our next podium! Fantasy! How ready they are for these Games!

800 m to the finish line - Lysova continues to lead, Remizova is 2.1 seconds behind her, Shishkova and Budaleeva are slightly behind in time - a little over 10 seconds. inferior to leaders. We have chances for the Russian podium!

The 2.5 km mark, half the distance, Lysova takes the lead. By 3.2 sec. she is ahead of Remizova, Shishkova is 5.8 seconds behind, and another Russian woman, Yulia Budaleeva, is in fourth place.

We are beginning to actively follow the development of events in the 5 km race among girls with visual impairments. The next confrontation between Russia and Ukraine is planned there. After the first control mark in the leaders Oksana Shishkova from Ukraine, our Elena Remizova and Mikhalina Lysova follow.

Kononova didn't have enough strength! At the finish line, she is inferior not only to Milenina, but also to her compatriot Yulia Batenkova! As many as 15 seconds. lost Oleksandr to our Anna Milenina. Well, what will Kaufman answer ?!

And Alena answers with an even worse time ... What happened to the finish of the two leaders ?! As a result, Anna Milenina from Russia wins first place! There is the 29th gold medal of our country at this Paralympics! Silver and bronze for the representatives of Ukraine - Yulia Batenkova became the second, Oleksandra Kononova - the third.

By the way, there is also Milenina. She is just 4.4 seconds behind her friend in the national team. and also did not lose hope of victory. The final spurt will decide everything! Wow!

Photo: RIA Novosti

800 m to the finish line - Kaufman takes over the lead again! 1.8 sec. Alena is ahead of her rival from Ukraine! Who will win? Kaufman or Kononova? Kononov or Kaufman ?! Intrigue!

The next mark is 2.5 km. Here Kaufman is already second, 0.2 seconds behind. Ukrainian woman Oleksandra Kononova. Milenina on this cut is located on the third line.

At the first mark the best time shows Alena Kaufan. Milenina and Bratyuk are a little behind. The distance is short, there is not much time to swing.

So, all the participants of the 5 km race with women started. Ours are Anna Milenina, Natalya Bratyuk and Alena Kaufman. Milenina and Bratyuk already have Sochi gold in their assets, Bratyuk became the winner of these Games.

Next on our program is the 5 km start for girls in skis, the "standing" category. This race will begin at 11.23 Moscow time.

By the way, after the triple success in skiing for men while standing, the Russian national team broke the all-time record for the number of medals won at the Paralympic Games. Russia has bypassed the achievement of the Austrians, who won 70 medals at their home winter Paralympics in 1984 in Innsbruck - 34 gold, 19 silver, 17 bronze. Our athletes already have 74, but that's not all!

SILVER! All athletes with visual impairment in skiers finished at a distance of 10 km. The winner is Canadian Brian McKeever, the silver is won by the Russian Stanislav Chokhlaev, the bronze medal goes to the representative of France, Thomas Clarion. 74th medal of the Russian national team at these Games!

In alpine skiing among women, Maria Papulova became the best of the Russians in the first attempt - she is the sixth. Medvedev is the eighth in the final protocol of this attempt.

No, the Russian lacks strength. 7 seconds at the finish line he lost to the eminent Canadian. Apparently, Brian McKeever will celebrate another success today.

Ehhhh .. Well, how so! Stas Chokhlaev's forces begin to leave. 800 meters before the finish line, he is just 0.6 seconds behind McKeever's time! After all, behind his competitor is Chokhlaev, coaching staff you need to tell Stas what separates him quite a bit from victory ... We need to find a second wind and speed up! With the last bit of strength! Forward!

At the finish line, Polukhin is still second, almost a minute and a half behind Canadian McKeever, who has won 9 Paralympic gold medals in his career. But ... It seems to me that the Canadian will not win today.

Photo: RIA Novosti

Yes, Chokhlaev is still the main contender for victory. At all benchmarks, his time was the best. The main thing is to have enough strength for the last two kilometers. Go ahead, Stas!

And we already have a similar distance in full for men with visual impairments. Nikolai Polukhin, who did an excellent job yesterday during the last stage of the relay and helped the Russian four to win it, is in fourth place 2.5 km before the finish line. And among the leaders there is another Russian - Stanislav Chokhlaev. We look ...

Photo: RIA Novosti

VICTORY!!! The last of ours to finish is Vladimir Kononov, who walked the entire distance in the lead, but he also cannot improve the time of Alexander Pronkov! What a finishing spurt this athlete gave! This is his triumph! Pronkov gets gold! Silver at Kononov, bronze at Lekomtsev. In general, this is the triumph of the Russian team, because the Russians immediately took FIVE first places. Minnegulov and Mikhailov, alas, were not included in the prizes.

Photo: RIA Novosti

Events at the finish line are rapidly developing! Vlad Lekomtsev takes the second position, Rushan Minnegulov is in the third place, and Mikhailov is pushed back to the fourth line.

But then our today's standard-bearer Kirill Mikhailov is ahead of him! He lost 29 seconds to Alexander Pronkov, whose time is still the best.

Finn Tuomisto is still in second position. He is inferior to Pronkov for 55 seconds.

The main contenders for medals are starting to finish. Here is Alexander Pronkov crossed the finish line. It is on his time that everyone else will now be guided.

The 5 km mark is half the distance. Vladimir Kononov becomes the leader! Vlad Lekomtsev is second here, losing 7 seconds to his teammate. Alexander Pronkov is the third. The rest of ours also pulled up. Apparently, four or even five Russians will compete for medals in this race.

Our guys start at a calm pace. At the first control mark of 1.7 km, the best of the Russians, Vladimir Kononov, is in second place, 0.4 seconds behind. The rest are slightly slower.

Photo: RIA Novosti

All eight Russians started the men's 10 km cross-country skiing race. We cheer for everyone!

Inga Medvedeva made her first attempt at alpine skiing. So far the third result. German Andrea Rotfuss is in the lead, then American Jelen, Inga is 7.81 seconds behind the leader. Too much ... But, I repeat, there is still attempt # 2.

Girls with visual impairments finished their first attempt. Alexandra Frantseva remained on the second line and before the second attempt she will lose to the leader for almost 5 seconds. The next category is next - standing.

While we are waiting for the completion of the first attempt for women with visual impairments, the 10 km race for men will start on the "Laura". Eight Russians will perform here at once, including our standard-bearer at today's closing ceremony of the Games, Kirill Mikhailov.

Frantseva is showing the second time at the finish line. She is almost 5 seconds behind the Slovakian Farkasova. Let me remind you for those who are not in the know, there will also be a second attempt in giant slalom. In fact, she will close the competition program for these Games this afternoon.

Photo: RIA Novosti

We have Alexandra Frantsev at the start - it was Sasha who brought the first gold to Russia at this Paralympics in alpine skiing a few days ago.

At this moment a giant slalom for women is starting in Rosa Khutor. Three categories are visually impaired, standing and sitting. At 10.00 at the Laura stadium, cross-country skiing starts at a distance of 5 kilometers for women and 10 kilometers for men. We cheer for Russia!
