Cork is a simple and effective way to catch crucian carp. We make a "poaching" donk from cork Cork feeder for fishing

A nipple for a crucian carp is an unsportsmanlike tackle that allows you to catch even the most cautious crucian carp in the most inaccessible places. Most of the variations of nipple tackle are in the nature of self-throttle rigs, but you, as a sports angler, can make more sporting tackle, we will tell about this in our article.

How to make a pacifier for crucian carp

The easiest way to make a nipple is the so-called plug for crucian carp. The base of the nipple for crucian carp is a regular cover from plastic bottle... It can be like a regular plastic lid for Coca-Cola 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2 L, or a wider lid for yogurt, milk and other similar drinking products. The wider the lid, the more food will fit and the more attractive the teat will be for crucian carp and other fish.

There are a lot of options for making nipple plugs, we will consider the example shown in the photo above.

  1. Holes are drilled on 4 sides of the plug;
  2. Leashes from a braid of 3-5 cm are attached to three holes. It is better to use a braid, and not a monofilament because of its softness, the hooks should not jump out of the feed, which will fill the cork. There may be not 3, but 2 leashes, at the discretion of the angler, but two are better than one, the probability of a bite is higher;
  3. A swivel is attached to the fourth side. In the case shown in the photo, the swivel is attached to the cork by soldering, this is not a very reliable method. It will be much safer to simply hook the cork with a clasp, and the thinnest place of the tackle will depend on the quality of the swivel itself, and not on the reliability of its fastening with the cork. If you are counting on catching exclusively crucian carp, then you will not have any problems with catching, but if you want to catch carp or carp, take care of secure fastening of all elements of the tackle;
  4. One of the most important elements nipple plugs - sinker. The easiest way to make it is from sheet lead. It is enough just to flatten an ordinary olive or cheburashka with a hammer or sledgehammer, and then make holes with an awl. The sinker is attached to the plug with steel wire (you can use paper clips).
  5. Each hook is supplied with a foam ball. Color does not affect much. The most important thing is that the balls are not very large size... The hook, together with the foam, should have a buoyancy close to neutral, so that when a crucian or carp swallows the bait, it does not feel much resistance.

Preparation of bait for the nipple for crucian carp

There are several recipes for nipple feed for crucian carp and they all have the right to life. Let's consider each in more detail:

Recipe for bait No. 1 from millet

  1. 3 cups of water are poured into a small saucepan;
  2. 2 cups millet;
  3. Place the saucepan inside another larger saucepan in a water bath (in a large saucepan, the water level should be equal to the water level in the small saucepan);
  4. A large saucepan is kept on a fire and kept boiling, and a shallow saucepan is kept closed;
  5. Cook until the millet is completely swollen. It should be easy to warm up in your hands. Thanks to the water bath, millet does not burn and it is very easy to bring such bait to the desired condition.
  6. The millet component is kneaded with a rolling pin until the dough;
  7. 0.5 cups of semolina is added;
  8. 0.5 cups of crucian groundbait or 100 g of ground cake.

Recipe for bait number 2 from bread and potatoes

  1. Pass black bread and potatoes through a meat grinder in equal proportions;
  2. It is also advisable to add crucian groundbait or others;
  3. Mix the resulting mixture very thoroughly in your hands and get a plasticine mass.

Flavors for crucian nipple

The best attractants (flavor enhancers) for crucian nipple will be spicy aromas:

  • garlic
  • Dill

Sweet aromas are used a little less often:

  • cinnamon
  • vanilla

These flavors should be added at the time of the final mixing of the feed at the last stage of home preparation.

Groundbait storage

It is better to store such plastic-like food in a sealed plastic bag in the refrigerator. But the ideal option would be to prepare the right amount of groundbait the night before fishing. And after fishing, the remnants of the bait can be thrown into the place of fishing, this will serve as a bait for the next fishing at this place.

Technique for catching crucian carp with a teat

How to insert the foam hooks into the nipple

  1. The cork is tightly packed with viscous feed with a slice.
  2. Hooks with polystyrene (ears down, bending up) are inserted inside the feed.
  3. You can throw the nipple into the most difficult-to-reach places with high vegetation and not be afraid that a hook will occur. After all, there are no open hooks in the tackle.
  4. The number of bites depends on the number of crucians interested in food. One thing is clear for sure, any carp likes the recipes that are described above. But crucian carp needs time to first find a nipple, taste it and only then catch on the hook.

How to make a pacifier a sports rig

The unsportsmanlike nature of the nipple tackle for crucian carp is that the fish does not react to the bait on the hook, there is no bait on the hook at all. She accidentally hooks on the hook, and later, trying to get away, is caught under the weight of the nipple even more.

We have two options for increasing the sportiness of this tackle:

  • Reducing the weight of the feeder (nipple), thereby the self-undercutting effect will be less effective and you will have to focus on the tip of the rod.
  • Use baits / baits instead of foam. This option makes the tackle very similar to the carp tackle, about which we have an article. The method uses a special feeder and special food, which at first glance is very similar to a nipple, but upon contact with water, already at the bottom, it swells very quickly and forms a pea, on the top of which there is a bait (most often a boilie). The boyle should be very tasty and the carp, approaching the bait, eats the bait with pleasure, and then, trying to leave, is caught by the hook. Even here there is a certain unsportsmanlike effect, but it should be borne in mind that true carpfishers always release their prey. Which we hope you will do too. We wrote about it in a separate guide.

When fishing, hand-made feeders are very often used. They are installed for catching fish feeding from the bottom. Such a feeder for fishing provides complementary food for fish and at the same time hides hooks in itself, which the fish will surely swallow.

Characteristic data

The do-it-yourself fishing feeder has a lot of varieties. A gradation was created depending on the characteristic data.

By the size of the feeders are:

  • small ones, used when fishing for small-sized fish, for example, crucian carp, roach, borer;
  • medium;
  • big.

The last two variations are thrown when fishing for carp.

As for the weight of the fishing trough, it depends on the place chosen for fishing. So, if fishing is carried out during the current, the feeder is made heavier. Fastening is carried out on the feeder or carp tackle.

By the type of holding the bait, the feeders are:

  • closed, in which live food is placed;
  • open, filled with porridge or vegetable food;
  • winter, from which food falls to the bottom of the reservoir.

Depending on the place of fishing, there are:

  • lake models;
  • river.

There is also a division in form and material.

Varieties of feeders

The main advantage of fishing feeders is the ability to make it yourself, and from improvised means.

Mesh feeders

Now the net is the most common material for making feeders. Firstly, it can be obtained at any hardware store, both plastic and metal. Secondly, it is easy to work with it, even while fishing.

  1. A fragment of approximately 4.5 * 10 cm is cut from the netting. The sizes may vary depending on what kind of fishing it will be used for.
  2. A strip of 2 * 10 cm is cut out from a piece of lead plate.
  3. Now the mesh is rolled up to form a cone or cylinder. The joint line is crimped with a lead plate.
  4. The final touch in the manufacture of a feeder with a net for catching fish - using a wire, they make an attachment through which the fishing line will be connected to the feeder.

If there is a problem with the mesh, you can make it yourself from a plastic bottle, from which a rectangular piece of a suitable size is cut out, rolled into a cylinder and holes are made with a hot nail.

Wire feeders

They are used when fishing on water with little current. Their sizes may be different, since it depends on what section of the wire was taken for work. The larger the diameter of the wire, the more capacious the trough for fishing. The spring model is considered the simplest and looks like a spiral.

Technology:

  1. Take brass and copper wire of small cross-section. You will also need a nut 1.5-2 cm in diameter (as an option - a steel bar).
  2. Using tools, wire is wound around the rod, the number of turns should vary from 6 to 10 pieces, and the distance between them depends on what kind of feed will then be placed in the feeder.
  3. The resulting spring is removed and, with the help of fingers, it is given a barrel-shaped shape.
  4. Further, a plastic or iron rod (tube) is installed inside the spring and the extreme turns of the spiral are securely fixed on it.

For fishing on the river or at distances far from the shore, it is more rational to use a spring feeder made of stiff steel wire.

Plastic stopper in case

From improvised means (an ordinary plastic bottle cap), you can prepare the simplest and fastest homemade fishing feeder, called a smoktuha or nipple. It is great for fishing for carp, carp, crucian carp, bream.

  1. A round fragment with a diameter identical to the bottom of the cork is cut out of a piece of sheet lead.
  2. With the help of an awl (for lack of one, you can take a nail), two holes are made in the lead circle and the bottom of the lid.
  3. A soft wire is passed through the holes made so that the lead weight is outside, and the ends are twisted inside the plug.
  4. The next step is to punch holes with a nail (3-4 pieces are enough) on the side walls.
  5. A wire ring is attached to one of the holes, and leashes equipped with hooks are attached to the rest.
  6. The final step is preparing a dough of a viscous consistency, which is filled into the prepared nipple feeder. Hooks are hidden in the dough. The bottom line is that the fish, starting to suck in the dough, will definitely swallow the hook with it and voila, the catch is yours.

Now you know how to make a fishing feeder simply, quickly and using common materials. But remember, during fishing, they can be lost, so it is better to prepare feeders for future use, so as not to waste precious time.

What to make a feeder for fishing - video

Crucian carp are caught by numerous methods and options of equipment. We will tell in this article about such tackle as a cork, which is a fairly simple and uncomplicated device, and at the same time allows you to ensure effective fishing for this fish.

Tackle "plug": device, principle of operation and advantages

The method of catching crucian carp with the help of a cork rig is somewhat similar to catching with the help of a top hat. Why is the rig named so - because it consists of a cork, into which complementary foods are stuffed and there are leashes with hooks in it.

A heavy type of sinker is attached to the other end of this plug. That is why the tackle cork lies on the surface of the bottom of the reservoir with the deaf side. You can attach bait to the hooks themselves, or you can leave the hooks empty. Having caught the aromas of the feed, the fish begins to swim up to the cork of the feeder. Having tasted the prey, the crucian actively sucks in the feed and at the same time swallows the hooks in the feed.

At the same time, the bite alarm system starts to work, and the angler performs the hook. The carp will try to break loose and swim away, but the cork itself heavy load does not let him go.

The advantages of this type of tackle are the following indicators:

  • - the most simple tooling device;
  • - can be caught even at great depths;
  • - you can not use the bait;
  • - the likelihood of the appearance of hooks decreases;
  • - Carp self-hooking is carried out;
  • - you can catch the most different types fish.

Features of cork fishing

When fishing for crucian carp on a cork, it is necessary to carry out the process of laying the hooks into the cork itself so that the hooks themselves are located with their ear downwards, while the bend of the hook is located upward. You can fit the hooks with foam balls.

This method of fishing for crucian carp is simply impossible without the use of a delicious feeding agent designed specifically for crucian carp. The process of making complementary foods should be carried out immediately before the very process of fishing for crucian carp. The mixing of the components should be done already on the fishing trip itself, while adding pond water.

In order for the smells of the flavors to act a little longer, a piece of foam rubber soaked in an aromatic substance is fixed to the bottom of the cork, before applying the complementary food.

The feeding is laid in such a way that a small slide is obtained with several edges. The hooks should not be put to the very bottom of the cork, otherwise the crucian carp itself may have time to get enough, and will not have time to get to the hooks.

When fishing for crucian carp with a cork, take with you a few corks, ready to catch. If the feeding ends on one, with the help of carabiners, you can quickly change the cork, without losing time for laying the feed for crucian carp.

Cork Tackle Tackle

When fishing for carp with cork, fishermen use a wide variety of rods. Someone uses a feeder rod, while others like ordinary float rods. With this method of catching crucian carp, the coils must hold a sufficiently large load, because several crucians can be caught at once.

When catching crucians using this method, the fishing line is selected somewhere in the region of 0.2 millimeters in diameter, but if you fish in clean reservoirs, free of snags and thickets, you can use smaller options. Do not use hooks that are too large in size. Large hooks are difficult to hide in the cork itself.

Bait for catching crucian carp on a cork

Successful cork fishing for crucian carp completely depends on the success of making a bait for crucian carp. Many fishermen began to use ready-made, sold feeding products. But a real fisherman has to make a feeding agent himself. The fertilizing agent is prepared with a rather viscous character. It should be slightly stretchy in composition. Although the parameters of the density of the feed should not be excessive.

One of the simplest ways of making a feeding agent for crucian carp is mixing bread crumb and cake mixture. A small amount of flour should be added to this product. Among other things, you can take advantage of the addition of a small amount of dough. IN mandatory flavors such as cinnamon, coriander, garlic are added, or store-bought flavors are used.

Another, also quite simple way of preparing feed will be to mix canned corn in a chopped state and lightly toasted sunflower seeds, and juice from under the corn is poured here. Some flavor is also added.

How to make a cork tackle for crucian carp?

In order to carry out the process of making cork-type tooling on your own, you will need some kind of plastic cork from a plastic five-liter or larger plastic container, you can use a cover from some kind of sealant or something else similar.

We select a flat sinker, approximately equal in size to the cork itself, and attach it to the back of the cork using a sliding mount. In the cork itself, we make a hole in the center of its base and pass the fishing line with leashes there, or the leashes will be attached from the sides through the holes in the cork.

Technique for catching crucian carp on a cork

Cork can be caught in summer, spring and autumn. When carrying out such fishing, you should throw the rig away from coastline... The process takes place as the cork slowly falls from the base to the bottom. Thus, the complementary food in the cork itself becomes available to the crucian carp, because it lays down by the feeding itself up.

In some situations, crucian carp begin to be hooked almost from the first minutes of throwing the cork rig. Carps are hooked spontaneously, but it is necessary to equip a bite alarm system, you can use a bell. It should be noted that, besides crucian carp, this method is used to catch a wide variety of fish, therefore, do not be surprised if, after pulling out the tackle, you find bream or perch on the hook.

  1. It is imperative to equip the cork rig with a bite alarm system.
  2. The feeding agent for crucian carp should not be made too thick or liquid, it should not fall apart immediately when it gets into the water.
  3. You can use this type of rig without bait.
  4. Do not take unnecessarily large hooks that are difficult to hide in the cork itself.

Classic English bottom gear also used for carp fishing, especially small fish 2-3 kilograms in weight. A sensitive fishing rod will allow you to fully enjoy playing, unlike carp fishing blanks, on which such a catch is practically not felt.

Feeder troughs are made quite simply, a lot of them fit in a backpack, they provide feeding at the right point, so it is quite possible to save a little on this consumable.

Curlers as a material of manufacture

There is a widespread belief that the first feeder options were made from them. The manufacturing procedure is extremely simple, the same winter auto-feeder is more complicated by an order of magnitude:

  • Trim the curlers to a suitable length.
  • The load is made of lead plates, which are squeezed with pliers for attachment to the body and, if desired, additionally glued (epoxy resin is well suited).
  • A fishing line mount is made of wire.

Important! To prevent twisting of the line, it is worth adding a swivel to the loop.

After painting in camouflage (usually black or green), homemade feeders are ready for carp fishing.

From construction mesh

Catching tackle for carp with your own hands is impossible without good feeders. With the proper skill, the finished products from the construction mesh will be almost the same as those made at the factory. A simple fishing recipe for making feeders looks like this:

  • Cut out of galvanized steel mesh with meshes of 6x6 or less required sizes blank.
  • Give the future feeder the necessary shape.
  • Fasten with rivets or solder the body to a pre-prepared strip of lead, which acts as a sinker (you can solder a swivel to attach the main line).

From a piece of a plastic bottle

The main advantage of fishing feeders is the ability to make it yourself, and from improvised means.

By the type of holding the bait, the feeders are:

  • closed, in which live food is placed;
  • open, filled with porridge or vegetable food;
  • winter, from which food falls to the bottom of the reservoir.

There is also a division in form and material.

Flat method

It is easier to make a feeder of this shape from a tablespoon or teaspoon. To do this, you need to cut off the handle from it, and prepare a couple of pieces of wire, which will further hold the bait inside.

Then the required amount of lead should be melted (to total weight did not exceed the test of the rod used) and pour in a spoon. If this soft metal is enough to secure the ribs of the feeder, no additional action is required, if not, then they should be soldered with tin solder.

Additionally, you will need to drill holes on the upper and lower sides - they are needed for the winding rings, to which the leashes and the main line will be knitted. For in-line installations, you need to add a channel through which the rig will be attached. It can be any plastic or metal tube, soldered or glued to the body.

Spirals, springs, plugs and other options

Before making a tackle for carp with your own hands, you need to decide which option is more suitable for the fishing conditions and available materials. Wire is taken as the basis for all these structures. It is better if it is stainless steel, since the corrosion accelerated by the water environment will quickly destroy the tooling, or any other home material with similar properties.

Using round nose pliers and pliers, the stainless steel wire is formed into the desired shape. For fishing at short distances, unloaded spirals and springs are suitable; for long distances, you will have to add a sinker of the required weight to the structure.

Cork is one of the easiest options to make. Of the factory feeders, this rig most resembles a "banjo". To create it, you will need a plastic stopper of suitable sizes (mainly corks from kefir, or five-liter bottles of water are used). A lead sinker is attached to the bottom with an ordinary bolt, short leashes are knitted into the holes drilled on the sides.

Carp killer

On sale, you can often find such ready-made tackle for carp. The quality of the hooks there is often low, and their number is excessive, the length of the leashes is not suitable for all conditions. Therefore, many anglers make this rig themselves. In this case, not every fisherman considers it acceptable to buy a ready-made one.

As a basis, you can take both ready-made spring feeders sold in fishing stores, and options made independently from wire.

Important! If the rig does not have an additional sinker, it is better to attach the largest and heaviest feeder at its end, so the tackle will be less tangled.

Usually 3-4 springs (with or without a load inside) are connected with a thick fishing line, a leash is knitted near each feeder, while in terms of its length, each angler has his own preferences. The sinker, if used in a particular rig, is attached to its end.

Sometimes anti-twist tubes for leashes are added to the design. Tackle-killer carp and crucian carp is considered unsportsmanlike due to the number of hooks.
