2. Driving on the highway

2.1 The route consists of six stages. The team must climb from the lower judging station to the upper one at each stage. Organization of an intermediate station or change of the leader within one stage is prohibited. Further, the team, using the judges' horizontal, vertical ropes and descending ropes (in some cases their own), carries out the descent to the lower judging station of the next stage.
2.2 The time for completing each stage is limited. Control time (TC) - 50 minutes, transition between stages - 10 minutes. Late arrival at the start of the stage is not penalized, but the CV at the stage begins 60 minutes after the start of the previous stage.
2.3 At each of the first four stages, a change of the leader is required.
2.4 The movement of the second participant is carried out with the compulsory top belay by the partner using the referee's rope. When a participant moves with top belay, the other end of the rope must be fixed on a partner or at a station. The use of the second rope is determined by the team independently.
2.5 All hooks marked on the instep are obligatory for the organization of intermediate belaying (quilting the referee's rope). 2.9 The team is considered to have completed the stage when both competitors and the weight are snapped into the upper referee station with a self-belay no more than 150 cm in length and the referee's rope is released from all the referee's belay points.
2.10 If a team does not fit into the TC at a stage, it must vacate this stage as quickly as possible in accordance with the referee's requirements.
2.11 When withdrawing from the stage (of its own free will, or for the reasons indicated in the table of penalties), the team can pick up those insurance points, the withdrawal of which does not take much time (at the discretion of the judge at the stage). For ALL points located on the route by the time of withdrawal from the stage, the team receives a penalty in accordance with the Table of penalties.
3. Slopes and transitions between stages

3.4 If a team is removed from a stage for the reasons indicated in the table of penalties, it can continue the competition, starting from the start of the next stage. The team, withdrawn from the stage for the third time, is withdrawn from the competition. In case of withdrawal of a team from a stage, the number of zones that the team overcame before it was withdrawn is recorded.

4. Calculation of results

4.1 Teams that reached the sixth stage without withdrawals are placed in the protocol above the teams withdrawn from one of the previous stages. Teams that have one withdrawal are located in the protocol above the commands that have been withdrawn twice.
4.2 The result of the link is defined as the distance in the zones that the link managed to overcome before it was removed, or covered the entire route of the competition. The zone will be taken into account the number of judges buckled in by the first participant and the number of judges buckled in by the second participant.
4.3 If two or more teams have an equal number of passed zones, the places are distributed according to the time spent on the distance. A penalty time is added to the team's time in accordance with the Table of penalties.

There is not much time left before the Big Mountaineering Marathon (BAM-2017). Already on March 19, the Ogonki station of the East Siberian Railway for the 37th time will become the center of attraction for hundreds of professionals and amateurs of exhausting ski distances from all over Russia.

Sports holiday - not otherwise

The route of the Great Mountaineering Marathon, laid along the Olkhinsky plateau, will test the strength and perseverance of skiers. The organizers of the competition are the administration of the Angarsk city district, the Development Assistance Fund ski racing in the city of Angarsk ". This year the event will be held with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Irkutsk Region.

As members of the organizing committee expect, BAM-2017 may well establish new record by the number of participants. At the moment, more than 160 people from 36 cities of the country have already registered: Moscow, Kazan, Blagoveshchensk, Tver, Krasnoyarsk, Torzhok, Khabarovsk and others. In 2016, about 400 athletes and amateurs of cross-country skiing from all over Russia, as well as from near and far abroad took part in the start of the Alpmarathon.

Traditionally, three distances are prepared for athletes: 22, 36 and 50 km. The route runs along the Olkhinsky plateau, the total climb is 1220 meters, with a vertical drop of 230 meters.

The triumphant of last year's ski marathon, master of sports of international class, winner of the World winter Universiade in Harbin, a member of the professional team "Snow Leopards" Alexei Chernousov.

“A year ago, I had the first chance to take part in the Big Mountaineering Marathon,” recalls Alexey. - What struck me especially was the high organizational level at which sports festival- it is a holiday, otherwise I cannot say about BAM. I don’t remember, for example, that I had to wander in search of a place to start, which very often happens at other competitions. Food points are equipped throughout the distance. While you are running, you are urged on by the main highlight of BAM - the railway, and after the finish of all recent rivals a spacious tent awaits you, in which you can warm up with hot tea and discuss the ups and downs of the race. Words cannot convey the atmosphere, you have to go there!

The prize fund has been increased!

What is BAM-2017 preparing for us?

- This year, for the first time in the framework of the "Cup of Spirit", Paralympians - Honored Masters of Sports will take part in the competition, multiple champions Paralympics! - said a member of the organizing committee of the BAM Artem Detyshev. - Another innovation - we already have applications from teams that will take part in the "Cup of Russialoppet Teams". We are waiting for everyone who wants to test their strength. Alpmarathon is a prestigious competition for the whole family, which takes place in an atmosphere of love for sports.

Another nice innovation: prize fund at the main distance of the ski marathon BAM Russialoppet is increased. Men in the overall standings from the first to the fifth place will fight for 60/40/20/6/4 thousand rubles, respectively. In the women's competition, the monetary reward is provided for three prizes. Prize amounts will be 40/25/15 thousand rubles, respectively.

A comment

The mayor of the Angarsk city district Sergey Petrov is a veteran of the Big Mountaineering Marathon, thanks to his efforts, the race not only did not cease to exist at a difficult moment for the country, but even acquired a prestigious status:

- For us, as organizers, there is only one criterion for the success of the marathon - the number of participants. Not the speed and not the personal records of athletes - let the strongest argue for trophies - but the mass character. We have a very sporty marathon precisely because many amateurs refuse to participate because of embarrassment. What does it mean? Sportiness is determined by a coefficient of 1.5 from the winner's result: the leader of the race ran the distance in two hours, and all those who met the three hours are considered athletes. The rest are athletes. In Russia, athletes are traditionally 80% of the total number of participants, and abroad there are only 10-15%. Foreigners go along the track with their families: with backpacks, with children. For their own pleasure - some in carnival costumes, someone on refurbished old skis. They walk for 7-12 hours, finish at night in the light of headlamps, and everyone rejoices and supports them.

Therefore, I urge amateur skiers: come to BAM, try your hand, let them overtake you, but know that you are respected! Do not be ashamed to look not as fast, technical, fit as the regulars of the marathon. A real athlete will support anyone who is on the same track with him. The scenario of our marathon allows you to choose one of three distances according to your strength. You just need to go to the start and go to the finish line.

Historical reference

1970s- the history of the competition begins, when the strongest climbers of the Irkutsk region decided to test their strength in ski disciplines... To implement this idea in the Baikal taiga, 40 km from Irkutsk, in the vicinity of the Ogonki station of the East Siberian Railway, a special route 35 km long was developed. The participants themselves were engaged in the preparation of the ski track. At different times, the organizers of the competition were various individuals and organizations. The most notable of them was the "Vityaz" club of mountaineers and rock climbers.

1981 year- the organizing committee of the marathon decides to increase the competitive distance up to 50 km, and the marathon itself was named the Big Mountaineering.

1985 year- the marathon got a mournful addition in its name - in memory of Viktor Ponomarchuk, one of the strongest climbers Irkutsk region.

2007 year- The Big Mountaineering Marathon was included in the Cup ski marathons Russia - Russialoppet.
