Homemade fish trap. A simple way to catch fish with a plastic bottle

A plastic bottle can be found in every home. For some it is nothing more than rubbish, but for others it is a useful item. Everyone can find a special use for it. For children, various fakes are made from them: bird feeders, and flower stands. A lot of useful little things can be made from a plastic bottle, it only takes a little time, patience and creativity.

Even anglers have found a use for it. Some designs that have passed the test in practice are willingly shared in this article.

Plastic bottle fishing

Fishing requires a huge amount of special devices which, by the way, are quite expensive. Therefore, a 1.5 - 2 liter bottle will help you significantly save money.

Bottle - anchor

If you plan to go fishing on a boat, then you will definitely need an anchor, and sometimes two, to fix the boat motionlessly. In such cases, one anchor is installed on the bow of the boat and, accordingly, the second is installed on the opposite one. If there is a problem with the anchors, then a plastic bottle will come to the rescue. In a few minutes, you can make a fake from it, which will perform the function of an anchor.

To do this: make two holes in the lid, thread a dense rope or thick wire, make a loop, and fasten it with a knot from the outside. We fill the bottle with sand, small pebbles, you can add water. We fasten the cap to the bottle. We tie a rope of the required length to the loop. ready.

Tackle is a trap

The next invention is the fish trap. Fishermen have been using such gear for a long time. You can lure small fish into such a device, which will be useful when fishing "on live bait" of larger individuals. It is simple to make it: cut off the neck by about 1 of the entire length of the bottle, get a funnel, turn it over and install it in the body so that the neck coincides with the middle of the bottom of the bottle. We connect the resulting parts tightly. To do this, you can use a soldering iron or if you are already in nature, carefully walk along the edge with a hot coal.

Small holes need to be punctured along the entire length of the bottle for the water drain. We make 2 holes along the edges to fix the handle; it can be made from any rope at hand. We pass it through the holes and fasten with knots. Put some sand for the load and the bait inside. Having noticed the delicacy, the fry will penetrate inside through the neck.

Plastic bottle feeder for fishing

Not an intricate exhibit for fishing, but it is very necessary - a feeder. There are several ways to make it from a plastic bottle.

First: "Cover - a feeder". You will need a cover, a lead washer for the sinker, a carabiner, a few hooks and a line. We make a hole in the center of the lid and thread the fishing line, tightening the loop on both sides, put a sinker on the outer one, and hooks on the inner one. We fix the weight on the bottom of the lid. This device will serve as a weighting agent and a feeder at the same time. On the interior we lay out the bait, under which the hooks are hidden. We throw it and wait for a bite. Such a feeder will be useful when fishing for bream, carp, roach. Corn, dough, pasta or maggots are great for bait.

The second manufacturing method is as follows: cut off the bottom and neck from the bottle. Cut the resulting cylinder across, mark the location of the feeders with a marker. Cut out the holes according to the marks. We fold the cylinder, fix the edges, for this you can use a soldering iron. According to the dimensions of the resulting structure, we bend the lead plate at the place of the bend and tighten the fastening knot. The feeder is ready.

An excellent and non-standard version of the top, muzzle, hem (as soon as they do not call it) - a do-it-yourself fish trap.

It seems to be the simplest, but with some changes from those made from plastic bottles.

You will always fish for live bait with such a fishing homemade device.

Self-production of a trap-muzzle from PVC bottles for fishing (live bait)

You will need a couple of 5 liter plastic bottles. In these, they also sell water in the store.

At the first bottle, cut off 1/4 of the distance from the neck. It turns out 2 parts. At the short part, we cut off the neck completely (so the live bait will pass larger).

We cut off the bottom of the second bottle, leave the neck with the lid - we get a through plastic tunnel with a lid.

Now let's connect the long part of the first one to the tunnel. We make in a circle where the bottles are connected by a soldering iron. And then we tie-stitch with a fishing line.

Turn over short part the first bottle down with a bottleneck and insert it into our resulting design.

With a soldering iron we make holes in the junction of the funnel and the tunnel next to each other and tighten with a fishing line.

We repeat (making holes and pulling the fishing line together) from all four sides.

We make many holes throughout the shape so that the water can pass through and we tie a good handle to the beginning of the funnel.

So much for you homemade trap for fish with your own hands from improvised means.

The best survival experts can make the most of all the resources at their disposal. These include the diverse waste of humanity that you are likely to find in almost every part of the planet.

This morning, while exploring the river bed, I came across a pile of rubbish in the coastal thickets. Among other garbage, there were quite useful things that immediately attracted my attention and will be discussed in detail in this article. We will talk about plastic bottles and how to use them.

WHAT IS GARBAGE TO ONE, WEALTH TO ANOTHER

Unfortunately life in modern world literally shrouded in a layer of plastic. There are no places on Earth that are guaranteed to be free from such debris. Parts of the ocean have been found to contain thousands of plastic debris per square mile, and I suspect the same holds true for land.

Our rivers and lakes, roadsides, even a dense forest and desert are filled with an absurd amount of polymer waste, which indicates the urgent need to take global measures to protect the environment on a global scale - this is the only way humanity can survive.

But for an experienced survivalist, plastic waste has a wide range of uses and may well be life-saving. As you can see in the picture, I found a couple of empty 2-liter bottles, which, following downstream, got entangled in a thicket of alder. In a real survival situation, such a find is worth its weight in gold!

But what to do with them?

PRACTICAL APPLICATION IN EXTREME SURVIVAL SITUATIONS

You probably already know that water is one of the most important resources during survival. You can live more than two weeks without food, and several days without water. Even a daily shortage of water in the body can lead to very serious consequences. Considering the above, using plastic bottles as a container for storing water may be the smartest solution.

In addition (especially in southern latitudes), plastic bottles can be used to purify water from pathogens (pathogens) using sunlight (Solar Water Disinfection, abbreviated SODIS - in English terminology). This can be very helpful if there is no way to boil water over a fire.

To make your water drinkable, you only need two readily available materials - a clear plastic PET bottle (green and brown bottles will be ineffective) and sunlight. Try to find a bottle with as few scratches as possible. this can make it difficult for the sun's rays to penetrate, and pathogens can find shelter there. Rinse bottle thoroughly and remove dirt or chemical residues. Fill a bottle with water and leave it out in the sun. The procedure can last from six hours to two days. During this time, ultraviolet radiation and rising water temperatures will kill virtually all bacteria. If the water temperature exceeds 50 degrees Celsius, disinfection will take place three times faster.

However, I plan to stay a little longer at this place. There are a lot of fresh water from the stream and, in addition, similar wetlands with beaver huts are excellent sources of a variety of food for survival.

Since the fire, shelter, and water were provided, I could focus my efforts on obtaining food from the abundance of native plants and animals, and plastic bottles can help greatly in achieving this goal.

TRAP SAVES TIME AND EFFORT

The superiority of traps over active hunting or fishing is that once set, the trap will work twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week; even when you sleep. This savings in time and effort is an obvious advantage in a situation extreme survival... Competently placed traps can save you from hunger, in case of unsuccessful hunting or fishing, and even become a constant source of food for a long time.

The process of making a good trap takes some time and requires quite a lot of effort. For example, to make one of the most common traps for fishing using only natural materials, you need to find and collect suitable rods, weave a rope and have the appropriate skills to create a sensible trap from all this material.

Thanks to the plastic bottles, most of the trap-making work has already been done for you!

HOW TO MAKE A FINE FISH TRAP FROM PLASTIC BOTTLES

Although I used both bottles to make the trap, you can make a working trap using just one of them. Several bottles allow you to conveniently remove the caught fish. You will understand everything soon ...

Separate first upper part bottle where it meets the cone and remove the cap. I used the Leatherman Wave multitool scissors, but any suitable tool on hand will do just fine: yours, a sharp rock, shards of glass, etc. Separate the bottom (bottom) of the other bottle in the same way.

Then, with the neck down, place the smaller section in the larger part of the other bottle with the cap. With an awl, along the outer edge, make holes at intervals of 2-3 cm, as shown in the figure. Instead of an awl, you can use a hard, sharp stick or a piece of heated metal to melt the plastic.

Now you need a way to securely connect the two pieces of plastic bottles. For this I decided to use 550 paracord, which is always present in my emergency kit... Natural fibers can be used instead, fishing line, laces or a piece of your clothing.

Paracord, parachute line, cord (English paracord or 550 cord) - lightweight nylon braided (English kernmantle rope) rope, which was originally used as lines for American parachutes during the Second World War. However, in the field, the paratroopers have found many useful uses for such a rope. Currently, paracord is used as a universal device by both military personnel and civilians. This versatile cord was even used by astronauts during the second Space Shuttle mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope.

Kernmantle rope- modern rope with a load-bearing core of continuous nylon fiber bundles surrounded by a braided protective layer.

550 paracord consists of 7 strong strands in a protective sheath. This is such a versatile tool that I highly recommend bringing at least a 15m skein with you at all times. To easily extract one strand, simply tie it to a tree branch and pull it towards you, as shown in the figure.

Pass the string through the holes made in the plastic bottles so that both sides of the bottle are firmly attached to each other. Leave the end of the paracord strand long enough to tie the trap to a bush or rock along the shoreline.

With a little effort, you will have compact fixture made of plastic for effective catch small fish (up to 7-8 cm in length). Try to place the device in narrow sections of the river flow - on natural way movement of fish. If the entrance to the trap is correctly surrounded by natural materials (stones, branches, sand, algae), then the fish will get inside faster and more willingly.

In the picture (see below) you can see a couple of sad fish caught in just a few hours of waiting. If you slightly increase the number of traps (up to 3-5 pieces and more) and leave them for the whole day, then it is quite possible to count on an additional source of energy (rich in proteins and amino acids) to maintain strength and morale for a long period of time.

To remove the fish from the trap, it is enough to unscrew the lid of the main section so that the catch can easily fall out. Put the cover back in place and the trap is ready for use again! That's what it took two bottles for!

The caught fish can be used to hunt larger fish or as bait for scavengers such as raccoons. And of course, even small fish will become an excellent food for survival. In any case, I am of the opinion that one fish in hand is better than two in the river.

Appreciate the generosity of nature

  • Check traps at least once a day
  • If the trap is no longer needed, be sure to remove it from the river to avoid contamination. environment and not harm its inhabitants
  • If you are just practicing survival skills, then always let the fish go free.

Anyone can make a trap out of plastic bottles. And who knows, maybe someday she will save your life ...

P.S. In two men, for 13 days, they ate practically only fry, which were caught, including with the help of similar babies from plastic bottles.

A river fish trap is essential if you want to catch fish intact. If fishing is a pleasure for you, you need a fish to release it, if you fish for further resale live, do not want to injure it, then you need to use simple, effective and easy-to-use traps. They can be created from a variety of materials.

How to make a plastic bottle fish trap?

Manufacturing plastic traps are in demand because this homemade a model variant can be created anywhere. In plastic bottles we take clean water, they can be found in nature, purchased at the nearest store, or borrowed from people vacationing nearby.

The plastic bottle fish trap varies in size. If you are planning a small catch, then take a base of 1.5-2 liters. If expected big booty then the 5-liter models will suit you.

  1. Washing the bottle. First plastic the attribute is washed thoroughly. It is important that there are no foreign odors on it. Remove any existing stickers. If design is prepared from a bottle of vegetable oil, you do not need to rinse it. This smell attracts fish.
  2. Remove 1/3 part. Remove the part of the bottle from the side of the neck. The area of the structure to be liquidated depends on the volume of the future catch. As a rule, cut off 1/3 of the part, turn it over, insert it with the neck inside the bottle.
  3. Fixation. Homemade the model must be fixed on starting position... For this, wire is used. It is desirable to create 2 to 4 anchor points. It must be borne in mind that this neck will then have to be removed. So don't overdo it.
  4. Small holes. Fish traps on the river should have relatively small holes. Then the bottle can quickly sink to the required depth.
  5. Place the bait. Into the created tackle a small amount of bait is placed. This allows you to speed up the fishing process.
  6. Adding cargo. It is best to place it inside the bottle. Such a weight allows you to avoid snags during the diving and fishing process.

Everything, your fishing the attribute is ready to be applied. The ways its uses are varied. You can throw the model upstream, fix it with a rope on the shore. Can be omitted in standing water in any position.

How to make a fish trap from the network?

The fish will have no chance of survival That is, if you create a trap from the network. It needs a frame. You can create it from any solid materials at hand. It can be plastic, aluminum rods, corners, etc.

  1. We stretch the mesh. A do-it-yourself fish trap is created from a mesh in which the cells do not exceed 1 cm.
  2. Funnel formation. It is necessary to create funnels from the same mesh as the shape wrap.
  3. We insert the narrow part of the funnel into the mesh on the frame. This must be done from two opposite sides.
  4. Bait. When a fish trap is created, there should be no questions about how to use it. It is important to be sure to put the bait inside and lower the model into the water.
  5. We lower the model into the water. If the frame of the trap is metal, then the immersion process should go very quickly. With a wooden frame, it is recommended to place additional weight on or into the trap.

Types of fish traps

There are many different traps that you can purchase from specialized stores or make your own. Let's consider briefly the most popular ones.

  • Stationary traps. They are made once and serve for many years. They are not immersed in water - they are constantly in it.

  • Tunnel traps. This is a death maze for fish. After the prey swims inside, it gets confused in the labyrinth, does not find a way out of it.

  • Spider trap. Consists of a screen and several arcs connected to each other at the highest point.

Going to fish on a natural body of water, do not forget about waterproof fishing backpacks. You can save the bait in them. Even if there is a heavy downpour, all things that are located will be safe and sound. You can always change into dry clothes, keep your health and enjoy the exciting fishing process.

The waterproof bag is the ultimate companion for any fisherman. If comfort and coziness are important to you, if you want to feel free near any body of water, then take care of the accessories in advance that will turn the usual fishing process into an exciting hobby that you cannot refuse.

First, try making a fish trap with your own hands in your familiar home environment. Here you have all the necessary items and materials at hand. Choose a trap that you would like to use outdoors. After the skills are brought to automatism, you can try to make a trap near the reservoir, just before you start fishing.

Fishing is one of the easiest and most effective ways to stay hungry. People have been fishing for a long time. Today, when technology has stepped forward, one should not forget about the "primitive", but proven methods of fishing. After all, you never know what kind of situation you will find yourself in.

An ordinary plastic bottle can be used as a material for making a simple, but quite effective fishing tackle... The resulting trap can be used in any corner of our planet where there are rivers. To implement the project, you will need to get hold of a plastic bottle (two pieces), a hot glue gun, fishing line or rope, and a knife.

It is best to take a five-liter transparent bottle as a basis. To begin with, we cut off the upper part in it. Turn the cut off top and insert it into the base with the back side, having previously unscrewed the lid. Fix the resulting structure with hot glue. You can also use a stationery stapler.

Now you need to make 6-8 holes on each side of the base of the trap. To do this, you can use a soldering iron or a nail heated on a fire. The diameter of the hole is 0.5-1 cm. They are needed in order to let the water flow through the bottle. Otherwise, the trap can be carried away.

Now we take the second bottle and cut off its neck with a lid. We apply it to the base of the trap, outline a circle and cut out the resulting hole with a knife, then insert our neck with a cork into it and fix everything with glue. This opening will be used to retrieve the catch and place the bait.

Now all that remains is to attach a fishing line or rope to the structure. The trap is ready to use: put the bait and throw it into the water for 15-30 minutes. Remember that the size of the container directly depends on what size of fish such a trap can catch.
