Straw Hat Team. The Straw Hats Who Will Be On Team Luffy

Monkey D. Luffy- pirate and the main character anime and manga One Piece. He is the son of the commander of the Dragon Revolutionary Army, the grandson of the famed Marine Vice Admiral Garp, and the half-brother of the late Firefist Ace and Sabo. His dream is to become the Pirate King by finding the legendary treasure left behind by the Pirate King Gol D. Roger. He believes that by becoming the Pirate King, he will become the freest person in the world. He ate the devil fruit Gomu Gomu.

As the founder and captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy is the first member of the team as well as one of the three strongest fighters. He is internationally renowned for causing trouble to the Shichibukai and Marines by committing crimes and acts that pose a huge threat to the World Government.

He became known for his recklessness and even some degree of insanity, after the Incident at Enies Lobby, the invasion of Impel Down and participation in the Battle of Marineford. He is famous for being the only pirate who not only managed to get into all three of the most important government buildings, but also managed to get out of them alive. This, plus the fact that he hit Tenryubito knowing everyone possible consequences, and his legacy, ensured Luffy's nickname as "potentially dangerous."

Prior to arriving in the Sabaody Archipelago, Luffy had a bounty of 300,000,000 and was one of the eleven rookie pirates ("The Eleven Supernovas") with over 100,000,000 bounties on the bounties that reached the Red Line. After the timeskip, Luffy's head bounty was now 400,000,000 as stated by "Fake Luffy" and confirmed by Pacifista. Later, when the team descended to Fish-Man Island, Hody Jones also displayed a bounty flyer for Luffy, on which his new bounty was written.

Appearance

Luffy is highly recognizable due to his unusual straw hat(which gave him the nickname "Luffy's Straw Hat") which was given to him as a child by the famous pirate "Red Hair" Shanks, who in turn received it from Gol D. Roger. His clothing style is usually made up of short blue shorts, a red waistcoat and sandals. Luffy has a scar under his left eye with two stitches (he got it in the first chapter, stabbing himself with a knife to prove his courage to Shanks) and short black hair. He was badly wounded by Akainu at the Battle of Marineford, leaving an X-shaped scar on his chest. Although he appears very thin under his shirt, his musculature is highly developed, as shown in many battles. Also, prior to the timeskip, Luffy was quite low compared to most of the other characters in the story.

After the timeskip

After two years, little has changed, Luffy wears an open cardigan with long sleeves and four buttons, showing an X-shaped scar covering most of his chest from Admiral Akainu and a yellow belt tied around his waist, much the same as Gol's. D. Roger. He has grown a little and, through training, has become more muscular. This can be seen from the fact that his neck has become thicker and deltoid and pectoral muscles became more pronounced.

Roronoa Zoro

Roronoa Zoro- pirate, former bounty hunter, and one of the main protagonists One piece.

He was the first to join the Straw Hat Pirates and is currently the most dangerous member of the crew after Luffy. Due to his great fame as a swordsman using Santorya and immense strength, some believe that he should be the true captain. As a consequence, they began to call him first mate... Zoro is one of the three strongest crew members and dreams of becoming the greatest swordsman in the world. He is also one of the pirates called the "Eleven Supernovas" - rookie pirates who reached the Red Line, with bounties over 100,000,000 on their bounties. His current award
120,000,000.

Appearance

Zoro is a young male of medium height, well-muscled and slightly tanned skin. Its distinguishing feature is three katanas suspended from a haramaki with right side, allowing him to easily draw the sword with his left hand. He has three gold pendant earrings in his left ear. He also has a black bandana, which he ties to his hand and wears on his head only in battles with serious opponents.

Zoro's body is completely covered in scars from numerous battles. The most notable are the scar from the left shoulder to the right hip, left by Mihawk during their meeting in Baratie, in which Zoro lost, as well as the scars on the ankles received during desperate attempts to free himself from the giant candle created by Mr. 3 in Little Garden (Zoro wanted to cut off my legs). After the timeskip, he develops another scar on his left eye from an unexplained method.

Another characteristic of Zoro is his short green hair, which is why Sanji teases him frequently. Head-grass or Marimo(Japanese name for a type of round algae).

Like most of the men on the team, Zoro wears the same outfit throughout most of the story, which consists of black pants tucked into black boots, a white shirt with three buttons on the collar, and a green haramaki. From time to time it changes its traditional shape, however, it is mainly limited to the shirt only.

After the timeskip

After a two-year timeskip, Zoro reappears with a new scar on his left eye, which is supposedly now blind as it is always covered. The swordsman began to look more muscular, his neck became much thicker and he himself became slightly taller, the same height as Robin. He now wears an open dark green robe tied around his waist with a red sash that holds his swords, and the same black bandana around his left shoulder. He no longer wears a shirt, and his green haramaki is visible from under his robe.

Us

Us is a pirate and navigator for the Straw Hat Pirates. She officially became the third crew member and second to join the crew after Luffy defeated Arlong. During the Baratie Arc, she temporarily leaves the team, but returns at the end of the Arlong Arc after her past and true intentions are revealed. Her current reward is 16,000,000.

Appearance

We are young slim girl medium height with red hair and light brown eyes. Many people find her to be very attractive or even beautiful. On her left shoulder is a blue (black in the manga) tattoo of a stylized turntable and a mandarin (a reference to Bellmere and Genzo), which was given to her instead of the mark indicating her belonging to the Arlong Pirates.

During the journey, her body develops very quickly (although, most likely, this is due to a change in the style of painting). Her clothing style, like her hair, changes very often. Many of her T-shirts have four-letter lettering such as "MODE", "GOLD" or "EVIL", similar to the "MACE" lettering on a Bell-mère shirt. On her left wrist, she wears the Log Pos, which is her navigator, and a gold bracelet given to her by Nojiko. After the Arlong Arc, Nami often changed clothes during each arc and usually had two rings on the sides of pants or skirts as their trademark. Her shoes are her signature orange gladiator sandals on high heels... She wears different heel shapes in each arch and they don't seem to affect her walking or running.

After the timeskip

Over the past two years, Nami's hair has grown very long and has reached the lower back. Her chest has become larger and rounder, like Robin's, and her curves and figure are like " hourglass"Became more pronounced. Oddly enough, her face began to look younger: her eyes became larger (now the iris is also shown) and placed slightly lower on her face, although this may be due to the development of the author's artistic style. She also got taller as she now appears to be only slightly shorter than Robin (although they both wear high-heeled shoes).

Usopp

Usopp is a sniper on the Straw Hat team. When he first appeared, he was often jokingly called the "Liar" of the Straw Hat Pirates. He is the fourth member of the team, the third to join Luffy, and the third to return to the team at the end. arches Post Enies Lobby... The reward is assigned for Sogeking- his alter ego.

Appearance

For most of the story, Usopp is a tanned, skinny teenager with black curly hair and a long nose, apparently a nod to Pinocchio, the wooden boy from history who had a similar nose that got longer after he lied. ... He usually wears a dark yellow cured bandana, a blue and white striped wristband on his left arm, special sniper goggles (he also has a pair of simple rectangular glasses that he wears in situations where he does not have his sniper goggles, such as when he first met the Straw Hats or when his sniper goggles were stolen by Mr. He also carries a yellow knapsack with him, in which he keeps all of his tools and gadgets. Usopp inherited his famous nose from his mother, while the rest of his face resembles his father. During the division of the team, after landing in a forest of gluttony, Usopp put on weight.

After a two-year time skip, Usopp lost weight and grew his hair. He also developed musculature. Usopp now wears a new pair of glasses around his neck (his sniper goggles are not shown) and earmuffs to protect his ears. He has grown a small beard and a white sun hat on his head. He wears a new pair of puffy yellow pants with red suspenders, and boots. His old yellow knapsack has been replaced with a red one, but he still wears a blue and white bandage around his left wrist.

Oda states that Usopp's animal is an armadillo, its color is yellow, and its smell is gunpowder.

Sanji

Sanji- Chef on the Straw Hat Pirates. For this everyone loves him. He is the fifth member of the team, the fourth to join Luffy.

History

Sanji was born in the North Blue and is the first on the team who is not from East Blue. We meet him for the first time at the Baratie Floating Restaurant. Before Sanji got to the Baratie restaurant, he constantly threw leftover food off the plates. But one incident made him seriously change his mind. The ship on which Sanji served as a cook was attacked by pirates, and then suddenly a storm hit both ships. Zeff (the captain of the pirate ship) was able to save Sanji from death and dragged the boy to dry land - an island towering over the sea. There was no vegetation on the island and, accordingly, no animals - just a bare stone. It was possible to go down from the island to get fish, but it is unlikely to go back up. They have some food left. Zeff took most of it for himself, leaving Sanji with a small bag, explaining that he was a child and needed less food. Sanji knew how to manage his food - if properly distributed, it would be enough for 2 weeks. But the ships did not approach the island. After a few weeks, the hunger became unbearable, and a desperate Sanji decided to kill Zeff and take his food. To his surprise, on the other side of the island, an untouched sack was waiting for him, and Zeff was missing one leg. There was gold in the sack. Realizing that Zeff gave him all the food and was starving (and in the manga, he generally ate his leg), Sanji burst into tears and vowed that if they were rescued from this island, he would help Zeff open a restaurant that would swim in the sea and feed those who were left sailing without food. Soon, Zeffa and Sanji were picked up by a passing ship. Following this incident, Sanji and Zeff opened the Baratie Restaurant, where they prepare the finest food in the East Blue. Even if the client has no money, but he is very hungry, Sanji does not refuse a piece of bread - he knows better than others what it means to die of hunger in the middle of the endless ocean.

Strength and abilities

In combat, Sanji fights only with his feet in order not to injure his hands with which he cooks food. The force of his blows is so great that it can change the bone structure of a person's face (as, for example, in the case of Duval). Sanji is one of the strongest in the Straw Hat team.

Personality

Little inferior in strength to Zoro, Sanji sees him as an eternal rival, although he still respects him very much and values his friendship. Sanji cannot resist the beauties. He pays particular attention to the women of Luffy's team - Nami, Vivi, and Nico Robin. He also cannot harm girls, as was shown in the Enies Lobby arc during his fight with Kalifa. Sanji is a heavy smoker. He is rarely seen on screen without a cigarette in his mouth. Quite often, while the others are fighting with the enemies, Sanji disappears somewhere to sabotage the enemy. This was the case, for example, on Little Garden Island, in Skypiea, Enies Lobby.

Tony Tony Chopper

Tony Tony Chopper- Doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates. Reindeer that ate the Hito Hito no Mi Devil Fruit. Born on the Isle of Drum, he is thus the only member of the Straw Hat crew to be born on the Grand Line. He is the sixth member of the crew and the fifth to join. Chopper is the smallest and youngest member of the Straw Hat Pirates, and also the northern one.

History

As a child, due to the fact that he was not like the others, he was not accepted into the herd of deer. People did not accept him either, since he looked like Bigfoot. Only the charlatan doctor Khiryulyuk took pity on him, having cured him, he gave him a name and took him as a "student".

Later, Khiryulyuk, knowing that he would soon die, decided to protect himself from Chopper and kicked him out of his house. Chopper, learning that Khiryulyuk is dying, decides to find a medicine that could cure him. Soon he finds such a medicine in the book - a special mushroom with a skull and bones in the corner (and Khiryulyuk once suggested to him that the skull and bones are a “sign of conviction.” And that under this sign the impossible can be done). Having overcome enormous difficulties, having received serious wounds, he still gets this mushroom and brings it to the doctor.

The doctor was very moved by what Chopper did for him, although he knew that the mushroom was deadly, he still ate it. Hiryulyuk, idolized pirates and their flag and infected Chopper with his love for them, so when he saw a mushroom and a familiar symbol in the book - a skull with bones - he decided that this was exactly what he needed. The fact that the mushroom is not a panacea for all diseases, but a poison, Chopper learned only from Dr. Kureha.

Dr. Hiryulyuk had a dream - to make sakura bloom on the frozen island (when the cherry blossoms, the petals of its flowers begin to fall), which, he believed, should cure all the diseases of the people of this island, just as he once cured him. On this he spent all his time, free from treating people. With the goal of destroying all the doctors on the island, except for the twenty that were in his service, Wapol, the local dictator king, decided to lure the doctor into a trap by telling the people that his doctors were terminally ill.

The deceived Khiryulyuk reached the Wapola castle, where they were already waiting for him and were ready to kill him. However, Khiryulyuk, having learned that it was a trick, said that he was glad that no one was sick and added that a person cannot be killed by diseases, bullets or even poison - a person dies when he is forgotten. After these words, he himself drank a certain potion and exploded in front of Chopper. Enraged, Chopper rushed at Wapol, but was stopped by Dalton, who admitted the usurper was wrong and asked Chopper not to sacrifice himself.

Returning to Kureha, Chopper asked to take him to him and teach him the art of medicine. Although she did not want to do this, she nevertheless fulfilled the request of Khiryulyuk and undertook to teach him.

After Luffy and his crew arrived at Drum Island. Chopper was initially afraid of them (Luffy and Sanji) as they tried to catch him and cook venison. However, shortly after Luffy defeated Wapol and when Luffy was defending the Pirate Flag on the Palace Tower, Chopper began to change his attitude towards them. After Luffy offered to join the Straw Hats, at first, like all previous times, he was refused. The last time he refused, he explained this by saying: “It is not possible we are too different ... I cannot be a friend to people. I am a monster, but I am not a human being ... so I only came here to thank you. Thank you ... for offering me ... But I will stay here. If you get bored, come visit sometime. " To which Luffy replied, "Just shut up and come with us." After this unexpected invitation, Chopper agreed and became one of the Straw Hat pirates.

After the Straw Hats were dispatched from Drum Island, Dr. Kureha, upon learning that Chopper was in the crew of the man with the initial D, said, "It looks like my deer followed a dangerous man."

After two years of training, Chopper is slightly taller. The horns are larger and the fur is longer. In addition, he discovered new forms associated with Rumble Ball. However, the character remained as naive as before, so he mistook the fake Straw Hats for his nakamas.

Nico robin

Nico robin- Archaeologist on the team of the Straw Hat Pirates. She is first introduced in the manga as Vice President of Baroque Works, under the pseudonym "Miss All Sunday." She is the sixth to join Luffy, the seventh member of the crew. Her devil fruit is Hana Hana, which allows Robin to grow any body part on the surface of any object. She is originally from the West Blue.

Appearance

Nico Robin is a tall, slender, outwardly very attractive woman. Hair is black just below the shoulders. Robin is very similar to her mother, with the exception of her hair color and dress style. Like Nami, she likes to change clothes often. Nico Robin prefers to wear dark-colored (either black or purple) very low-cut clothing, often prefers country style.

She has changed quite a lot over the past two years. Her hair has become longer and now she wears it slicked back. Out of clothes, I preferred a long pink skirt and a navy blue blouse with a cutout. Unlike Nami, who prefers sandals, Robin wears shoes more often. Brown sunglasses are a new permanent accessory.

She is 188 cm tall, making her the third tallest member of the Straw Hats after Brook and Frankie. After the timeskip, in SBS Volume 69, Oda says that Robin's dimensions are 100-60-90 (New World).

Frankie

Frankie- the ship's carpenter of the Straw Hat Pirates. He is a 36-year-old cyborg from Water 7, home to South Blue. Appeared in history as the leader of Clan Franky, a group of shipbreakers. His real name- Cutty Flam (カティ・フラム Kati Furamu ? , eng. Cutty Flam), but he abandoned it and lives under a pseudonym in order to hide his identity at the request of Iceberg. He was originally introduced as the antagonist of the Straw Hats in Water 7, but became an ally under the pressure of circumstances. He is the eighth member of the crew and the seventh to join Luffy. He is also the second villain on the team (first being Nico Robin). Designer of various "military stuff" (motorcycle, tank, etc.) on the Southend Sunny.

Appearance

With his own hand-made modifications and life as a bounty hunter and street bandit, Franky looks like a bully over two meters tall, and is the second tallest member of the team. His forearms are larger than his biceps. His hair is light blue and has blue star tattoos on his arms. He is usually dressed in swimming trunks, which is why strangers consider and call him a pervert, and in an unbuttoned shirt of parrot colors. He wears a large gold chain around his neck, and dark glasses on his head, which he pushes over his eyes only in case of serious danger. His face was burned in the explosion of Vegapunk's laboratory. According to One Piece author Eiichiro Oda, Franky resembles a bull most of all, smells like cola, and his color is blue.

After the time skip, Frankie is shown with a short haircut, and then, it is discovered that his hair is now manageable and he can change different styles at once by pressing his nose in no more than three seconds. Its shoulders, torso, and arms are also much larger than before, and with spiked arms that look almost like a robot in appearance but he also showed that inside his huge hands, he still retained his real hand size. He replaced his elbows with large blue loops, his shoulders with a large red ball and a BF-37 connector marked on them. He has given himself these new upgrade features over the past two years, but their true potential and abilities have not yet been fully revealed.

Brooke

Brook is an excellent musician, he can play almost any instrument, but most often he can be seen with a violin, or playing the keys of a grand piano. His favorite song is "Sake Binksa", which was often sung by the Rumba Pirates and was very popular with their captain and Laboon. Brook takes with him the last performance of the song by the Rumba Pirates, recorded on Thane Dayal (this is the Sonic Shell from Sky Island bought by Brook on a merchant ship) by the Rumba Pirates (during this performance, the crew members fell dead one by one) to play it to Laboon. With his music, he can put enemies to sleep.
Brook is also an excellent swordsman, in his cane is a blade, which he skillfully wields, using his own style of "delayed" strikes. He has abilities that are unique to the skeleton - for example, milk completely heals him and heals fractures, in his words "thanks to calcium", and he can also run on water because of his light weight.

After the timeskip, I discovered other abilities of my fruit. Brook learned in two years to get out of his body and travel as a spirit, and deliver ice attacks. It also turned out that he became invulnerable until his bones were destroyed.

Background

I ate the Yomi Yomi no Mi fruit. Until his death, Brook was a musician in the Rumba Pirates, which included a whole pirate band. Full of hope, they entered the Grand Line, accidentally grabbing a baby whale, Laboon, who had nailed to them. Promising Laboon that they would soon pass through the Grand Line and descend from the other side of the mountain, they left the whale at the gates of the dangerous ocean. However, their plans were not destined to happen - at first, the disease took their captain, and Brook took his place, and then the rest of the team died in the battle. Since then, about 50 years have passed since Brook, wandering alone on his ghost ship in the Florian Triangle, collided with Gecko Moriah on the floating island of Thriller Bark, where he lost his shadow and since then could not leave the fogs of the triangle, as he would disappear under the sun light. However, when Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates defeated Moriya and returned the shadow to him, Brook was no longer deterred from fulfilling his promise to Laboon. Joining Luffy's crew, Brook sets out to circle the Grand Line and, as promised, descend towards Laboon on the other side of Reverse Mountain.

Vivi Nefertari

Vivi Nefertari(formerly Miss Wednesday - Baroque Works codename) - Princess of the Arabasta Kingdom. She is the daughter of Nefertari Cobra and Nefertari Titi. In battle, uses a peacock cutter. She has an unusual hair color (azure), she also has an animal - Kara. Karu is a large duck that Vivi often travels on. For a long time, she, along with her guardian Igaram, spied on the Baroque Works organization, which was headed by the Shichibukai Crocodile, who ate the suna suna no mi fruit. But they were still revealed by Mister 5 and Miss Valentine. Vivi left the kingdom due to the rebellion that Crocodile created. When he found out that Vivi was the princess of Arabasta (by that time she had already betrayed him by telling the truth to the Straw Hat pirates), he decided to destroy Arabasta and build his dream kingdom there. He decides to do this with the help of a huge cannon, about which Vivi heard only from the lips of Crocodile.

Plot

Character description

Luffy is a thin, black-haired guy of average height. Under his left eye is a scar he got as a child when he tried to prove to Shanks that he was an adult. He constantly wears the straw hat that Shanks gave him, throughout the first part he wears a vest, shorts and sandals. In the second half of the series, after two years of training, Luffy wears a long-sleeved shirt and a yellow belt instead of a vest. On his chest, he develops a large X-shaped scar left by Admiral Akainu.

Luffy is extremely careless by nature, however, he is very friendly and kind. He is often naive and does a lot of stupid things, but if necessary, he can make extremely extraordinary decisions. He is also distinguished by fearlessness, in many ways his courage is a consequence of his stupidity. When doing anything, Luffy rarely thinks about the consequences. Luffy loves to eat very much, his favorite food is meat. Whenever he meets someone unusual, he invites him to his team. Many manga and anime characters have noted that Luffy is very similar in personality to Gol D. Roger. Despite all his eccentricities, he is able to turn even his enemies into his allies: because of his ability to easily make companions for himself, he was called the most dangerous person in all seas. Luffy is very devoted to his friends, and for the sake of his companions, he risked his life more than once. He tries not to kill his enemies: according to Eiichiro Oda, he does not do it out of pity for the enemy, on the contrary, he does it in order to humiliate them even more, because for a pirate, losing his dream is even worse than dying.

Bounty Bounty: At the end of the Pirate Fishman Arlong arc, Luffy is assigned a 30,000,000 belli, after the Alabasta arc, 100,000,000 bellies, after the CP9 arc, 300,000,000 bellies, during Luffy's two-year training he received an award of 400 million bellies, defeating Donquixote Doflamingo on Dress Rose Island, he receives an award of 500 million bellies, and after the events on the territory of one of the Emperors of the Seas, Big Mom, 1,500 million bellies.

Strength and abilities

History of creation

In the anime series, as well as in all animated films, OVA and other offshoots of the series, Luffy is voiced by the voice actor Mayumi Tanaka. In OVA Defeat the Pirate Ganzack! before the series, Luffy was voiced by Urara Takano. He is voiced in the 4Kids Entertainment dub by Bella Hewdson and in the Funimation Entertainment dub by Colin Klinkenbird. Feedback and perception

Luffy has been the # 1 hit manga character list for Japan's Weekly Shonen Jump three times. Mike McFarland and Christopher Sabat, who voiced the Funimation Entertainment dub, noted that Luffy is more charismatic than Goku, the protagonist of Dragon Ball. Luffy was nominated for Best Male Character at the 2008 Japanese Animation Awards, but lost to Alucard from the Hellsing manga. IGN ranked him 22nd on the list of Best Anime Characters.

T.H.E.M. Anime Reviews described Luffy as a "cute idiot", finding him very optimistic and idealistic. In the review of the fourth full-length film Dead end adventure The Star Online notes that Luffy is "a great fighter" but "completely empty-headed" at the same time. Rika Takahashi noted in her EX.org article that Luffy's stretching abilities set him apart from the main characters in the shonen manga genre, and felt they brought "something fresh and interesting" to the series. Anime News Network compares Luffy to anime and manga protagonist Rurouni Kenshin Himura Kenshin, as both have similar personalities. Mania Entertainment called Luffy a "Great Shounen Hero".

First Appearance: Chapter 1; Episode 1

Amount of awards: 800,000,050

Captain: Monkey D. Luffy

Straw Hat Pirates(麦 わ ら 海賊 団, Mugiwara Kaizoku-dan) are the main characters in the One Piece anime and manga. The team is named after Luffy's famous hat that Shanks gave him. They are sometimes also referred to as the "Luffy Pirates". Up until the Water 7 Arc, the team traveled on the Going Merry. After the Enies Lobby Arc, they had a new ship called the Southend Sunny. The team consists of 9 members, the total award is 800,000,050.

Team emblem.

The Straw Hat Pirates' emblem is a crossbones image of the traditional Jolly Roger, with a straw hat donated by Shanks to Luffy just below it.

Team members.

As a result of the fact that only Luffy decides who joins the team, it consists of completely different characters, making Luffy's team one of the strangest in the world of One Piece. They are so different both in appearance and in character that sometimes the composition of the team seems to be random. They include: a reindeer, which can change shape, becoming similar to other animals (in human form, it looks like a gorilla, and in transitional form - like a raccoon-tanuki); an eccentric cyborg who wears only Hawaiian shirts and swimming trunks; as well as a revived skeleton-pervert. Among the crew members, four, including Luffy himself, possess the Devil Fruit powers. Most of the team members are young and only three of them are past 20. However, the two oldest are just as childish as most of their younger companions. It is also important to note that for the Straw Hat crew, their ship is not just a transport, but another member of the crew.

The strength of the team.

Despite the small composition, the Straw Hat team can be called quite strong. After the incident at Enies Lobby, the World Government admitted that the team was dangerous. Each member of the Straw Hats has at least one unique skill, and each has a different fighting style. The captain, swordsman and cook possess such superhuman strength that they are sometimes called the "Trio of Monsters". All of them had their combat abilities initially, and over time, the team members developed, facing more and more powerful opponents.

What really makes a team strong is mutual support. This became especially important for them in recent times... If someone is unable to fulfill the mission entrusted to him, another comes to his aid. This allows the team to give a worthy rebuff to the enemy in cases where it is difficult to act alone.

Positions and abilities.

Monkey D. Luffy: Captain; Gomu Gomu no Mi, Superpower, Soru, Royal Will, Will of Observation, Protective Will

Roronoa Zoro: Swordsman; Master Santorieu, Super Strength, Will of Observation, Protective Will

Us: Navigator; very high level navigation, cartography genius, theft expert, Klima-tact

Usopp: Sniper; gunner; high level of aimed shooting, great storyteller and actor, versatile arsenal

Sanji: Chef; Great Kok, Super Strength, Blackfoot Style, Great Tactician, Geppo, Will of Observation, Defensive Will

Tony Tony Chopper: Doctor; extensive knowledge and a high level of medical skills, Hito Hito no Mi, Rumble Ball

Nico Robin: Archaeologist; killing skill; high level of historical and general knowledge, Hana Hana no Mi

Franky: Carpenter; high level of carpentry, modified into Cyborg, Super-strength, versatile arsenal

Brook: Musician; excellent skill in playing musical instruments, Yomi Yomi no Mi, Fencing style

Awards.

The Straw Hat Pirates are not villainous in the conventional sense of the word, but they are pirates, which is why the World Government and ordinary people consider them to be. Because of this, awards were assigned to the team members depending on what threat, from the point of view of the Government, each of them posed. If for other pirates the reward is a reason for a troubled life, then for Luffy's team it is a kind of achievement, a sign of what popularity and worldwide recognition they have achieved.

Relationships among the team.

Each member of the team values friendship above all else, and, despite the occasional comic quarrels, they enjoy spending time together, and they are glad that they joined this particular team. One of the main ideas of One Piece anime is boundless loyalty and trust among nakamas. To save a team member, his comrades are ready to risk the most important things, risk their lives and even postpone the fulfillment of their dreams. If even one team member is abused, whether physically or mentally, the other Straw Hats take decisive action to avenge and protect their comrade, knowing that each of them will do the same if they switch roles.

Recruitment.

At the beginning of the manga, Luffy stated that before moving to the Grand Line, he wanted 10 people to join his team, not including himself. However, due to the circumstances, Usopp told Luffy that after the cook joined them, they would save Nami and sail to the Grand Line. This is what happened, however, and there is still evidence that the team will consist of 10 or more people. At the beginning of the manga, Luffy also stated that he would assemble a team that would be stronger than the team of his childhood hero, Red Haired Shanks.

Invitation.

Usually, Luffy's invitation to join the team is immediately rejected. Luffy is smart enough not to force a person to join him against his will. The only exception was Franky, who turned out to be too stubborn to join the team on his own (he had to steal his favorite swimming trunks and lure him to the ship), but after Iceberg's words, he was moved and finally decided to stay in Luffy's team. If Luffy is really interested in a person, he will try to persuade him to join by all means, despite the desire of that person. Some constantly refuse, others, convinced enough, join for their own reasons. Sometimes, if Luffy is refused, he acts as if the person is already on the team and his own opinion on this matter does not interest anyone, which usually annoys people very much.

The exceptions to this rule were Usopp, who, agitated and delighted with the offer to join the team, immediately agreed, and Nico Robin, who entered at will and was able to persuade the team to let her stay. It is also noteworthy that Brook, who accepted Luffy's invitation, soon changed his mind, explaining that he had business on Thriller Bark and that without a shadow he would die when the first sun hit him. After defeating the zombies, Brook, having received a shadow back, asked if the team would approve of his entry, and had already finally joined the Straw Hats.

Luffy doesn't think about whether whoever he wants to invite has a profession or not. He allowed Usopp to become a member of the team and proclaimed him a sniper and cannoneer, Vivi is also considered their nakama, despite the fact that she does not have a specific profession. He called in the team and Gaimon, who did not present any benefit to the team (apart from his pirate experience).

The adoption process.

Despite the fact that most adventures in One Piece are random, recruiting follows a certain algorithm. First, a situation arises when the team needs someone new. The team encounters someone who suits them (for example, Chopper as a doctor, Nami as a navigator). Luffy invites a person to join the team and is usually rejected immediately (this leads to a comical situation where Luffy "refuses to reject"). Meanwhile, a situation arises that in one way or another ends in Luffy's fight with the main enemy, and the alleged newcomer plays a secondary role (for example, Luffy vs. Don Craig, while Sanji fights with Gin and Parl). The beginner usually defeats one of the main enemy's assistants or plays a key role in the victory of the Straw Hat (for example, Brook defeats Talleran and learns about the weakness of the zombies, despite being defeated by Ryuma). During the arc period, when the newcomer is introduced, his past and dreams are also told. This convinces him to join Luffy's team. At this time, each team member finds himself a similar opponent in strength (for example, Zoro vs. Kaku, Sanji vs. Jabura, Chopper vs. Kumadori, Nami vs. Kalifa). In some battles, opponents that are similar in fighting style are also chosen (Zoro vs. Hachi are both swordsmen, Sanji vs. Kuroobi are both experts in hand-to-hand combat, and Usopp vs. Chu, where both specialize in long-range shooting), where it is easier for Sanji and Zoro to find an opponent. This served as the beginning of a popular misconception where fans assumed that Vivi would become a permanent member of the team.

The only team members who were not accepted otherwise were Nami and Robin, whose history was revealed much later, despite the fact that there were all sorts of hints. Nami's official acceptance took place after Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji defeated Arlong and his pirates. Robin was the first to enter of her own accord after being rescued by Luffy's team from CP9.

Luffy stated several times that the team needed a musician, as "pirates love music" and believes that this position is more important than others. As a result, no matter who the team faced, Luffy offered the position of a musician, even if it was not related to an actual issue at the time. While Frankie, in addition to carpentry, knew how to play the guitar, Brook became a musician in the team.

Entry Procedure.

Apart from Luffy, here are all the Straw Hat members in the order they joined the team.

Roronoa Zoro

Us

Usopp

Sanji

Tony Tony Chopper

Nico robin

Frankie

Brooke

In the manga, Oda placed Luffy as the first number, thereby moving each subsequent one by one position. In the titles of the chapters of the manga, where this or that character joined the team, Oda wrote the number of the person who joined. Nami and Usopp were given a number after they returned to the team. So far, only Chopper and Robin have not had a chapter with their number, but in the anime, Robin, despite the fact that she does not yet have a number, received a conditional number 7. This means that in the team, including Luffy, she is ranked seventh.

The main character of the manga and anime "Big Jackpot" is the captain of the "Straw Hat Pirates".

Appearance

Not a particularly tall boy with a slender but muscular build. Hair is black, cropped and tousled; eyes wide open, looking at the world with curiosity; under the left eye - a thin strip of scar. After attacking Akainu at the Battle of Marineford, he acquired another huge cross-shaped scar in the middle of his chest. Outside of critical situations, the image is completed by the smile of a "happy idiot" from ear to ear.

Clothes - red (in the Thriller Bark arch - orange, in Amazon Lily - blue, in Impel Down - yellow) vest, light sandals and blue (sometimes black or red) knee-length shorts. The unchanged shabby straw hat, given to him by Shanks, which he, in turn, received from Roger, with a red ribbon is his only material value and retains its rightful place on his head or behind his shoulders. Behind the hat ribbon from Arabasta was a Portgas D. Ace library map. After two years of training, Luffy had a yellow belt and a red shirt instead of a vest.

History

The story is silent about exactly how Luffy spent his early years and met Shanks. However, the fact remains - the red-haired pirate inspired Luffy to a pirate fate and search for One Piece. And the scar under Luffy's eye reminds him that in early childhood the boy hurt himself and almost cut out his own eye, trying to prove to Shanks that he was already a man. Moreover, Shanks once saved little Luffy's life by sacrificing his left hand for this. Not surprisingly, at the age of seven, Luffy found an idol who gave him that very straw hat. Poor marine grandfather Monkey D. Garp could not even imagine that the merciless training for survival in the mountains and jungle, which he arranged for his grandson, would develop remarkable endurance in the future pirate.

As soon as the boy turned 17, he plunged into a boat, plunged some kind of a pirate flag near him and set off in splendid isolation into the open ocean, not at all worrying about the fact that if something happened he would go to the bottom with an ax. However, luck made friends with the insolent guy - so much so that in a short time he managed to assemble a pirate team, get himself a ship, slip into the Grand Line and by now earn a rather big price for his head.

Character

Naively enthusiastic - when not special problems, foolishly selfless - when the life or freedom of nakama (comrades) is threatened. Despite the fact that Luffy often behaves more than foolishly, in situations requiring the captain's intervention, he accepts only correct decisions... In general, Luffy has a very well-developed intuition (for example, he always singles out the strongest among the opponents and chooses him as his opponent). Reacts easily and naturally to ridicule, practically not getting angry. Persistent to the bitter end, confident in himself and in the team. And it's simple - he believes in people, believes in people. But in the mortal danger of his comrades or Shanks straw hat, he can kill.

Habits

Luffy has many illogical habits. Outside of battle, he does not listen to others, is often distracted and gets away from the essence of the matter, and for no reason at all can fall asleep right in the middle of a conversation. If he conceived something, he will do so, the level of recklessness and strangeness of desire does not bother him. Likes to sit on the bow of the ship, eating meat in unlimited quantities, drinking unspecified alcoholic beverages from the nakam and looking for a dozen and a half adventures on his straw hat.

Powers and abilities

Most of Luffy's attacks are based on the power of the Devil Fruit. Since in childhood he ate Gomu-Goma by negligence, he became a “rubber man”. Can stretch any part of its body and deflect bullets, cannonballs and other charges firearms... After meeting with Magellan at Impel Down, he gained immunity to poisons. In two years of training with Rayleigh, I learned to use all kinds of will. After returning to the archipelago, Sabaody was able to defeat the Pacifist with one blow.
