Brazilian football team killed in a plane crash. The mystery of the death of the pakhtakor football team: the history of one of the largest plane crashes in the ussr

On August 11, the flights were controlled by the dispatchers of the Kharkiv Center unified system traffic control Vladimir Sumskoy, who had previously worked as a dispatcher for 4 years, as well as 20 - year old Nikolai Zhukovsky (worked only 2.5 months). The dispatchers were supervised by Sergey Sergeev. For some unknown reason, he distracted himself from work and appointed Zhukovsky, who did not have sufficient experience, as a senior. Also that day there was a controller of dispatchers - Tomilov, but he was removed from his direct duties. It so happened that on that day two more planes were flying - one with a high-ranking leader who was flying abroad, the other with the leader of the Mongolian communists who flew to Brezhnev in Crimea, so several heights were simply blocked. The Kharkov zone, both once and now, is one of the most difficult. On August 11, dispatchers simultaneously kept 12 aircraft in touch, but according to the instructions, there should not be more than 10 of them.

It so happened that two planes were flying at the same time. Zhukovsky calculating the time during which each of the aircraft must pass the supposed intersection point. The dispatcher miscalculated the distance and gave the command to the Tashkent board to occupy the echelon of 8400 meters. Due to incorrect calculations, both sides ended up in the same corridor. Nobody checked the given command, and Zhukovsky himself did not recalculate his calculations twice. Only four minutes before the tragedy, Sumskaya realized that there were inaccuracies in the calculations. He rushed to rectify the situation, but everything was complicated by the appearance of the third Il - 62 aircraft, which flew at an echelon of 9000 meters. Sumskiy ordered Il - 62 to vacate this corridor, and sends a Tashkent flight there. The dispatcher did not understand the last command due to the arisen interference. But he took the Il - 62 at his own expense, and changed the route towards the 8400 meter echelon. Sumskaya, considering that the Tashkent flight answered him, turned off the radio connection altogether. He was not convinced of the callsigns, did not demand to repeat the answer, and this was his fatal mistake.

39 years ago, on August 11, 1979, there was one of the worst plane crashes in the history of the USSR: two passenger aircraft Tu-134s collided in the sky over Dneprodzerzhinsk. As a result, 178 people died, including 17 members football team"Pakhtakor"... Air traffic controllers were found guilty of this tragedy, although the circumstances of the disaster seem to many to be too strange and still give rise to many versions regarding its causes.

One of the liners was heading from Voronezh to Chisinau, there were 88 passengers and 6 crew members on board. The second plane was on its way from Tashkent to Minsk. In addition to 14 football players, a coach, a doctor and an administrator, there were another 60 passengers and 7 crew members on board. All 178 people died in this disaster, including 36 children.

The plane crash was reported in the media only a week later, and even then in passing, on the last page of a sports publication, in a small note that spoke about the funeral of the dead football players in Tashkent. There was no information about this in the central press. The tragedy would not have become so resonant if members of a major league football team were not among the dead. According to many fans, it was best line-up for the entire history of the existence of the Tashkent club. The team was heading to the next match of the USSR championship in Minsk, where it was supposed to play with the local Dynamo.

Miraculously survived Main coach team Oleg Bazilevich, who went to see his family and had to get to Minsk on his own. The club's masseur, Dvornikov, was also lucky to avoid tragedy: the day before, he and his friends drank too much and missed the flight. And here is one of best footballers team Mikhail An was injured a few days earlier and was not supposed to fly, but he was persuaded to go along with everyone for the company. Accidentally got on a flight and Sirozhiddin Bazarov - player youth team, who celebrated his 18th birthday the day before and stayed in Tashkent for a day.

Two dispatchers of the Kharkov control center, Nikolai Zhukovsky and Vladimir Sumsky, were found guilty of the tragedy. Both planes crossed each other at an altitude of 8400 meters. Shift senior Sergeev sent a young inexperienced dispatcher Zhukovsky to the difficult area. According to his calculations, the planes had to pass the conditional intersection point with a difference of three minutes, but in fact the interval was less than one minute. Sumskiy checked the calculations of a young colleague and found an error. He took control and ordered the Belarusian liner to take another flight level (go to an altitude of 9000 meters).

The dispatcher received an indistinct answer, but did not demand confirmation of the execution of his command. At that moment, 11 aircraft were simultaneously connected. Due to radio interference and overlapping replicas, the Tu-134 did not accept the dispatcher's command. The collision took place in overcast conditions, and the crews could not notice each other in advance. Dispatchers of Sumy and Zhukovsky were sentenced to 15 years in a colony general regime... The first served a term of 6.5 years, after which he was released, and the second, according to rumors, committed suicide.

Later, several versions were put forward about the causes of the disaster. According to one of them, the tragedy happened through the fault of the first person of the state: supposedly the airspace was “cleared” that day due to the fact that Brezhnev was flying south. But, as it turned out, at that time he had already been in Crimea for several days. Shortly before the disaster, there was indeed a "letter" flight, as the transportation of dignitaries was called. Echelons of movement were freed for him, but this did not create any additional difficulties - the collision occurred an hour and a half after that.

Coach Oleg Bazilevich later expressed the following version: “ It seems to me that Pakhtakor died because of the carelessness of our air defense systems, and became their next victim. The plane, I believe, was shot down where it was impossible for him to appear ... Just because of the controller's mistake, the plane with the players flew into the air above some defensive object ...". Some relatives of the deceased footballers also adhered to this version. However, at this time, no military exercises were carried out on this territory, and it is hardly possible to view defense objects from a height of 8400 meters in cloudy conditions. In addition, the nature of damage from an explosion is significantly different from damage from a collision and a fall.

Obviously, the reason for the collision was the controller's mistake: having received an indistinct answer from the pilot, he had to duplicate the command and demand a second confirmation of its receipt (this is what the court called "a gross violation of the phraseology of radio exchange").

Collected after the disaster new team of the players in 15 clubs. It was decided to keep Pakhtakor's place in major league USSR championship for three years. The team finished in ninth place that season. The death of football players shocked Uzbekistan. Journalist Eduard Avanesov responded to this tragedy with a requiem, which contained the following lines:
Years fly by, but the pain does not subside
My sorrow soared above the mountains.
Birds die on the flight
You died in flight, "Pakhtakor".

The details of this plane crash became known only a few years later, as well as many other tragic pages in the history of the Land of the Soviets. Today about
, reading is interesting and exciting. After all, such stories are transferred to a completely different era.

It's hard to remember this. But fate cannot be changed. Six years ago, at 16.00, a Yak-42D airliner crashed into the banks of the Tunoshonka River. So perished hockey team"Locomotive".

I remember that day as it is now.

The season opened in Ufa, where the match for the Opening Cup between Salavat Yulaev and Atlant took place. An hour before the game, a press conference of the KHL president and sponsors took place. Everyone was in high spirits, as we gathered for the holiday.
For a quarter of an hour before the throw-in, they went to their places. Buried in computers ...
And suddenly the terrible news began to spread like spilled ink on a white sheet of paper.

- Have you seen? The plane with Lokomotiv crashed ...

- Are you kidding! How…

- What if a mistake? Someone started a duck?

- There are no such ducks ...

- Call someone from the team!

But the telephones were muffled. And the news fell. Details, facts. It was very painful.

"At 16.00 near Yaroslavl, during takeoff from the Tunoshna airport ..."

All this was happening in the room where the commentators are sitting. And below there was a game on the ice. Salavat Yulaev's defender Andrei Kuteikin shot from the blue line with a beautiful snap, scoring the first goal of the season.

There, behind the glass, life was still in full swing. There was hockey. Maybe, after all, we were ridiculously played?
But a cold whisper was already creeping across the stands. The match was stopped. A pale Alexander Medvedev appeared near the owners' shop. I will never forget his speech. And I can't imagine how difficult it was to announce this to the whole world.

“A terrible grief happened today. The plane crashed with Lokomotiv hockey players, club administrators and coaches on board. Of the 37 people, only one survived. Whether to continue the match or not, we will decide during the break. I ask you to honor the memory of the victims with a minute of silence.

Everything inside finally turned upside down, flew down somewhere. Many hockey players cried like children. They were taken to the dressing rooms.

The Atlanta players drove to the church. They crashed Jan Marek, who played in the final of last season. So hastily moved to Lokomotiv that they did not manage to present him with a silver medal.

The Swedes sobbed Fernholm, Zakrisson, Andersson - their friend Stefan Liv was killed. Slovak Radivojevic lost Pavol Demitra. Alexey Kovalev was left without Alexander Karpovtsev, Igor Korolev. Konstantin Rudenko played for Lokomotiv, but moved to Mytishchi in the offseason. It saved him ...

It was scary in Ufa, and Yaroslavl was generally blackened by trouble. Colleagues who ended up there are forever engraved in the memory of the pouring rain in the middle of the night. And the flashing lights of cars near the morgue of the Solovyov hospital, where the burnt bodies of players were brought, who were taken out of the river. Identification was in progress ...

And next to the "Arena-2000" hills of flowers have grown. Photos of the guys, burning candles. No rainstorm could extinguish them.

There was a glimmer of hope that Alexander Galimov would survive. He was terribly burned, doctors tried to save him. Transportation to Moscow. But the miracle did not happen. Sasha left after five days ...

That plane crash hooked everyone, broke the lives of families, very many people with a spreading crack. Citizens of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Sweden, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Latvia, Canada were killed in that plane. Nine countries. And everyone was united by a common grief.

We must remember September 7th. So, in detail. Come to the Leontief cemetery in Yaroslavl. To other places where the guys found their last peace.

What can we give them now? Only memory. And respect. So, I can't imagine why the school named after Ivan Tkachenko has not yet been built in Yaroslavl, over which the poor father of the captain of Lokomotiv has been fighting for many years. The results of the investigation into why the plane crashed also raise questions. The tragedy was overgrown with rumors that turned into myths. But there is no clear answer ...

Live for the living. And don't forget the crew crashed on takeoff on that black Wednesday.

Everlasting memory.
