For the third year in a row we are opening new season on the beautiful sports pond "Ulovo"! This time, we managed to escape from Moscow on the night of Thursday to Friday, hoping to arrive at the reservoir without any problems early in the morning of April 28. As the road showed, fishing in Ulovo at any time of the year has one constant component - traffic jams. Lord, when will Gorkovka be repaired? From year to year the same thing, Lakinsk, it seems, stands at any time of the day. The road from Moscow took about 5 hours even at night in the middle of the week. Summer outlook in this part is sad.
We arrived at the reservoir on April 28 at about 7 am, drizzling rain. Sector 17 was waiting for us and, according to the gamekeeper, we were the first to swim to the other side with a tent this year. The water was still very, very cold, my hands were cramping instantly. While we are swimming, we notice the remnants of snow under the trees between the 5th and 6th sectors. But it doesn't matter, we have a great mood for the opening of the season, especially since the next day wonderful weather and warming are expected!
The relief of the 17th sector is very diverse. We mark for a long time and measure the water temperature with a thermometer for casting. The readings are terrible, the water temperature in the lower layers does not reach 5 degrees. As a result, we determine for fishing several points in front of the sector on the hills and a couple of points to the right along the steep bank and snag. Of the nozzles, this time we focus on. The first day passes in silence, we expect the weather to improve tomorrow and go to bed. The morning was already much better ...
With the first rays of the sun, we get an unexpected morning bite "to the shore" from a point in the side snag. The fish is still very sluggish, it goes quite easily, we start it in a landing net. There are the first fish of the season, the scales show 5.500!
We add literally a couple of rockets to the points, measure the temperature of the water. The thermometer shows closer to +6. There are still several days ahead and the fish already caught adds optimism. The day passes in silence, watching and enjoying the beautiful weather. There are no signs of fish activity on the surface of the water.
There is time to study the nature of the 17th sector. In this regard, of course, this is the best sector in the entire reservoir.
Towards the end of the day, we decide to add a couple of rockets. Midi spomb effortlessly flies to the required distances, it seems, it can be launched anywhere in the reservoir.

New day. The weather is great! In the sun, everything is +20, but in terms of normalizing the bite, this does not help us so far. The water does not even reach +7. In the afternoon, a fairly strong wind blows towards the 1st sector, which leaves hope that the shallows near the snag will have time to warm up and we will still support local carps.
There is time to discuss winter new things. This season we will be assisted by excellent rangers in the hunt for the trophy. While it is not possible to fully test them, but the next multi-day session towards the end of May will definitely load them to the fullest and we will tell our impressions about the rods.
And we will also try to catch big fish with universal rods, which came to us to replace the old Shimano who caught their own.
The first fishing trip of the new season was already smoothly coming to an end, when Delkim had stopped in the morning. How long has this sound been missing! The first hooking on our Century and this is a bummer ... on the other end, immediately zero. But nothing, this is just the beginning.
Summing up the results of the first cold session, the following can be noted:
1. The caught carp, perhaps, can be one of the "coldest" in our practice. We do not remember that they were fishing in the water +5. Although it is not a trophy, 5500 is not bad for the first fish)))

Spring activities:- Fishing on rivers is not allowed from the 1st of August, and it ends on 30th June.

- in the event that you are seen with tackle and the damage is assessed as large, you will have to pay from 100,000 to 300,000 rubles. In addition, the article also implies a possible arrest for six months;
- if you came to a pond in your own car, then you face an amount from 3,500 to 4,000 rubles, provided that the car is 200 meters away from the shore.
As we can see, the consequences are quite serious, so it is worth planning the event in advance so as not to find yourself in a difficult situation.

When does the fishing ban begin and when does it end?
Fishing is banned in every region Russian Federation, and applies to both sports and amateur fishing... The law was adopted by the Federal Agency for Fisheries and agreed with the heads of all constituent entities of the federations. Each region has its own rules, terms and places of this ban.
The dates when the fishing ban begins and ends in each constituent entity of the Russian Federation are different, but timed to coincide with the start of fish spawning. As a rule, this is the spring-summer period. Moreover, the timing of the ban on fishing is different for each river or body of water, even in one area and for each type of fish. - On the Volga, at a distance of less than one kilometer from the dam in the city of Dubna downstream (with the exception of the bay in the oxbow with right side from the hydroelectric complex);

- the water area of the Berezovy Islands at a distance of less than 500 meters from the water's edge;
- at a distance of less than 100 meters from the water's edge and less than 500 meters on both sides of the administrative boundaries of the village of Drachevo;
- On the Klyazminskoye reservoir: in the Krasnaya Gorka bay;
- In the Lutosnya river and its tributaries within the administrative boundaries of the Solnechnogorsk and Dmitrovsky districts;
- In the Istra reservoir:
- the water area of the Kostyaevsky Islands at a distance of less than 100 meters from the water's edge;
- the right-bank water area of the Istra River from the mouth of the Chernaya River with a belt width of 50 meters for 1.1 km towards the Pyatnitsky reach "
But the ban on fishing does not mean that it is generally impossible to approach the reservoir with a fishing rod. You can, but there are strict restrictions.
Fishing restrictions during the spring-summer spawning season, applicable to all regions
- First, fishing is allowed with only one rod(float, bottom, fly-fishing);

Before the onset of the spawning period, you can go on a boat with a motor and fish from it without restrictions, observing the rules of fishing and driving a swimming device. But with the beginning of the spring-summer spawning period, you can go on oars, and fishing from a boat is prohibited. Moreover, you cannot fish from a boat moored to the shore and transport fishing rods and fishing gear in it, even if you are not going to use them. That is, the fisherman cannot get, for example, on the other side, because putting the tackle in the boat, he will have to answer before the law. There is only one way out - to look for bridges, of which there are not so many on our rivers, and sometimes not at all. If you had no plans to fish, and you just wanted to cope with kayaking in a place where fishing is prohibited, then you will have to contact your local government to get permission to do so. - Banning fishing from boats and ice at night;
- Fishing with explosives, chemicals or electric current;

Many people wonder why during the spawning ban it is allowed to fish with an ordinary single-hook fishing rod, but the ban on spinning fishing remains. The fact is that during spawning the fish can swim very close to the shore: the female lays eggs, and the male fertilizes it. When fishing with a spinning rod, during the furrowing of the bottom, unfertilized eggs can mix with silt or the clutch will break, then the eggs will die. Therefore, a float rod is allowed, it has a lighter tackle that does not drag along the bottom and does not damage the caviar.
But fishing with a spinning rod is not prohibited everywhere, but only in certain places, which are provided for by the law prohibiting fishing.
Liability for violation of fishing laws

By the way, there is a penalty for fishing in the ban. In accordance with the Code of Administrative Offenses, it can range from 5 to 10 minimum wages.
Remember, the payment of the fine is not made at the place of fishing, but according to the receipt at the branches of Sberbank, and within 10 days you can appeal the inspector's decision in court.
In case of serious violations of the fishing rules, a criminal case may be initiated under article 256 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Illegal extraction of aquatic animals and plants"... In this case, a large fine of up to 200 thousand rubles or imprisonment of up to two years is imposed. Such serious violations include the use of prohibited fishing gear, leading to the extermination of large numbers aquatic plants and animals on the territory of the reserve, in zones of ecological disaster, in spawning grounds and on migration routes to these places.
