The best version of the dog game in the world. FIFA vs PES - Which Football Simulator Is Better

It's no good to rate PES games. Just like any FIFA. It's like confessing your love to one football club in the presence of another's fans. After all, millions of loyal fans have both that and the second game series. But we will still try to express our opinion. And to agree with him or not is already your choice ...

It's a thankless job to rate games from the series... Just like any... It's like declaring your love for one football club in front of another's fans. After all, there are millions of loyal fans of both the first and the second game series. The thing is that in both PES and FIFA it comes about football, but we have diametrically opposed views on what a game about the sport itself should be like.

On the other side of the scale

Another amazing feature of these rival TV shows is whoever started playing FIFA, probably will not understand the wisdom PES, but will simply continue to buy new parts ... There can be no objectivity here. It is important for us that the struggle today is not so much for the wallets of existing fans, but for the love of newcomers who are just about to start a career as a virtual football player.

So which is better? It is impossible to answer this question unequivocally. Also, PES(times of 16-bit International superstar soccer, original, third part) and FIFA(youth in hands with a joystick from Mega Drive, amazing). There was no clear winner in the 2008 struggle. Each game had its own merits and demerits. Now, with the exit and, we still dare to rock the scales and determine the winner. How Konami and EA , did a great job, fixed past mistakes, improved the gameplay, to a greater or lesser extent, conjured over the graphics. As a result, we have before us "pumped-over" versions of their predecessors.

Real Football Edited by Pope Carlo

The first thing that catches your eye is the graphics. It is extremely important in a sports simulator. After all, you must admit, it is difficult to associate yourself with a brick freak or a poorly drawn set of pixels. It is unpleasant to run on the grainy grass, watch the audience in the form of a smeared blot. So, the picture looks much worse than that of her rival. Alas and ah, in Konami preferred to stick to the old scheme and released on our screens, frankly, the "old man". almost as scary as last year's version.

Developers are still unwilling to admit that the era Playstation 2 is over and you need to work with high resolution and use the power of generation set-top boxes Xbox 360 and Playstation 3... And if the picture is not ashamed to show guests and what is happening on the field can really be confused with a real broadcast, then in PES it's much worse. Take the players themselves. On disgusting quality polygonal models pulled the textures of the level of games of the beginning of the era PS2(and this, gentlemen, almost ten years ago). What photorealism ?! What are you speaking about? Here, even the similarity with real characters is out of the question. With animation, the same problem. Players move unnaturally, clumsily and sometimes jerky.

The stadiums are doing better. Some are really great. The only problem is that the spectators in the stands are the same pixelated faceless mass. They are also bad. But, there they at least do not merge into a huge Siamese twin. The same is with the covering of the field, which, as before, you cannot look at without regret. Moreover, from a long game on the grass, eyes begin to hurt. Thanks even for the fact that Konami solved the problem of brakes and PES always runs at a good speed, no matter what happens on the field.

Football is not football!

As for the gameplay, everything is very ambiguous here. Pro Evolution Soccer, and this says ... Of course, not without changes and improvements. So, for example, the level of artificial intelligence, both rivals and associates, has significantly increased. Now the players are really able to adapt to the situation, and not stupidly follow the same partner, regardless of what is happening. The good news is that athletes now get in the way less when you dribble. In the past, it was a disaster that could affect the outcome of a match. Pointless walks by the goalkeeper have become more rare, although they still occur occasionally. But overall, yes, it feels like the AI has been worked on and that the players on the team are often acting as one.

The physics of the ball has been improved, the behavior of which in the past resembled the behavior of a plastic sphere. Now it has become more elastic (according to sensations), began to somehow obey the laws of physics (slow down movement, bounce correctly from the ground, etc.) and does not disappear into nowhere when it flies off the side line.

Of course, this year too Konami tried to make the game more believable. But, fortunately for the fans, the developers did not turn everything upside down. It is still possible, using only a couple of very powerful attackers, to inflict a crushing defeat on the enemy (even an 8-0 score happens). It is also worth noting that the unique skills of football players are now playing more important role... Not in words, but in the process of the match itself.

Puff pie

But, if the gameplay makes a good impression, then with a set of teams, leagues, championships and players, big problems... Is not FIFA! There is no thoroughly drawn symbols of clubs and the faces of all athletes are not here (except perhaps the most venerable ones). Needless to say, u Konami there are not licenses for everything. Therefore, I had to get rid of it. Don't be surprised to see a seemingly familiar command name with a few altered letters. Because of this, PES looks like a much cheaper game than FIFA... And most of the football atmosphere is lost. In this regard, many championships are becoming less interesting. Master League leaves not the most rosy impressions.

Nevertheless, it is still the same fun game, exciting and not devoid of its own merits, which the competitor does not have. Therefore, if you choose her, then you are unlikely to regret it. Well, in the future, if Konami will be able to solve the problems that are now, then PES 2010, quite possibly, we will call the best football simulator. The case is small ...

Probably everyone has heard of such football simulators as Pro Evolution Soccer(hereinafter PES) and and about their many years of annual struggle, in which last years the latter wins. And now, a new version of the Japanese football simulator is out. PES 2014 from Konami... This year, many predicted a victory for PES due to a number of innovations added to the new part of the game. But after playing the full version, I decided that this year I will also win. Why, you ask? You will find out now.

The Japanese have done a very good job this year. For the new part of their game, they created a new engine Fox engine adding a ton of new changes to the game.

Briefly about the innovations:

1. Real Ball Physics (TrueBall Tech): For the first time ever football simulators PES 2014 will focus on everything related to the ball: how it moves and how it is controlled (used) by the players. The physics of the ball, the anthropometric data of the player (height, weight, constitution), speed and altitude ... all this and more will be taken into account to convey the atmosphere of real football behind the screens of your gaming systems;
2. Motion Animation Stability System (M.A.S.S.): Football players will also be a very important part of the ADST game, which will influence physical contact (struggle) between players, collisions, tackles and artificially intelligent decisions to get even more freedom in the game while playing PES.
3. Emotions (Heart): Football is all about the emotions on the football field and the atmosphere that fans create by the method: singing, lighting fires, firecrackers and various performances. All this will affect not only the atmosphere during the match, but also the moral component of the players and the team as a whole. Finally, fans will become 12 players like they are in real football. On the football field, morale (good or bad), performance, player's return to the game will also affect the team as a whole. This can affect the overall morale of the team or individual players on the side of partners who can support a teammate if he does something wrong.
4. Individual style (PES ID): PES 2013 first introduced Custom Style (IS) with about 50 players. In PES 2014, the number of such players will increase significantly, moreover, the team's IP model will be implemented for the first time!
5. Team Play: With the new tactics and player placement plan, our fans will have even more options and freedom in key areas of the field with 3 or more players. What tasks you set these players will be an important trump card in your sleeve in order to beat the opponent: the players will follow your instructions in order to use gaps in the defense or midfield of the opponent, for example, do various types of races along a curve, not a straight line, or mutual races in order to be open at the right time.
6. The Core: One of the most important features that we got thanks to the new Fox Engine is the movement of the players, the detailing of the forms, the expressions on the faces, the stadiums ... all this will simulate reality. Now the match will not be interrupted by short cut scenes after certain events.
7. Also our fans will see a change in terms of free kicks and penalties with much more defensive reaction and more natural feelings.

The new engine is certainly good, but PES remained PES. Not licensed the best at the moment football league- nuclear submarine (except for " Manchester United"). And this is a huge minus in the "PSA" piggy bank.
Imagine, let's say, a fan of London “ Arsenal»Play PES. Comes in, and instead of his favorite club there is North London. It's a shame, isn't it? For that, now you can play for a team from Asian Champions League... I always dreamed about it.

But with licenses PES’A not entirely bad, since 2 of the most important and famous club tournaments are licensed in the Japanese simulator - Champions League (UEFA Champions League / Champions League) and Europa League (UEFA Europe League / LE). And this is just a huge plus. The licenses of the other leagues also appeared and were supplemented, which is also very good.
Stadiums in PES'e are basically well done, but because there are no licenses for teams, therefore there are no licensed stadiums. And yes, the Giuseppe Meazza / San Siro stadium was made as 2 different stadiums.

Conclusion

Let's summarize. It may seem silly to you to compare 2 games, one of which has not yet been released, but I still stick to my opinion. PES 2014 is a great soccer sim and a worthy sequel to the series, but it is losing the battle this year. Have PES’A great new engine, but it doesn’t compare to the new engine Ignite for FIFA 14 on next-gen consoles. Have PES’A great game modes, but FIFA there are more of them and they are much more interesting. After playing the first match in PES 2014 I was tuning in to something new, but after the final whistle, I realized that it was still the same PES with new graphics.

P.S. This is my tentative article as a reviewer, so I hope for adequate criticism. And yes, I didn't want to offend anyone with this article. I just expressed my opinion.

Snickers was with you. Play your best (Fifu).

The battle between football simulators FIFA and PES dates back to the days of the first PlayStation. For more than two decades, each of these series has amassed a huge number of fans around it. However, many are still worried about the question: which is better - PES or FIFA? If you do not know what to choose, in this article we will try to explain which of these games is right for whom. We also recommend that you familiarize yourself with our individual reviews and.

What's prettier?

Visually, both games are very high level by the standards of sports simulators. Both Konami and EA are constantly trying to make the players' movements more realistic, but this year, in our opinion, it turned out a little prettier. It's not even the number of polygons and the smoothness of the picture, but rather the aesthetics of football.

In FIFA 19, the camera adjusts the angle more effectively in replays, the faces of the players seem more realistic, and there are almost no problems such as boots stuck in the opponent's leg. in turn, it also cannot be called an ugly game. The picture is brighter, the colors are richer, but not everyone will like this vague eye.

Which football is more realistic?

If we talk about the realism of football, then the championship here has been held for a long time by the PES series. Nothing has changed in 2018. PES 2019 really lets you experience the beauty of football.

Each team and even a footballer play in completely different ways, have their own tactics, pros and cons. In FIFA 19, however, this is more and more arcade. Often the matches are of the same type and do not have such a huge variety in the unpredictability of situations as in PES.

Where is the best atmosphere?

To begin with, you need to decide what the atmosphere is for you. If the game of soccer is what matters to you, as it was invented, PES 2019 is more interesting. If you want to hear realistic sounds of the stands and like the emblems of top clubs like Real Madrid to be exact copies of their counterparts, then you are in FIFA.

In addition, there are Russian commentators in FIFA 19 who significantly add atmosphere during matches, talking about the achievements and problems of football players and shouting a drawn-out "Gooooool". In PES 2019, there is no Russian voice acting, and English commentators are not eloquent.

Which football has more content (modes, clubs, stadiums)?

FIFA takes the lead here. It has more interesting modes, there is a plot with interesting story about football, but most importantly, almost all famous clubs and stadiums are licensed in FIFA 19. Real Madrid here is Real Madrid, not some fictitious name like in PES.

Plus, FIFA 19 introduces the Champions League and Europa League, while PES 2019 doesn't have them anymore. But in football from Konami, you can play for the Premier League recently, while they decided to remove this league from FIFA.

What's best for newbies?

You can learn to play faster in PES, but learning to defeat strong opponents is easier, oddly enough, in FIFA. The fact is that PES is much deeper in terms of tactics, feints and individual characteristics than FIFA. This, in turn, is both a plus and a minus.

If you are not too lazy to sit for hours and study one trick, hoping to comprehend all its benefits, then you are definitely in a simulator from Konami. If you want to play football without dancing with a tambourine and constantly reading the manual, FIFA is your choice.

Where is the best online?

Before writing the FIFA 19 and PES 2019 reviews, we played 25-30 hours of each of these games on PS4 Pro. To be honest, there were no serious problems with servers in both games, but unpleasant jambs were still encountered. In PES 2019, this is a long search for opponents and brakes during matches. It rarely happens, but still.

In FIFA 19, the problem was more in the interface. For example, we bought a player, then we want to accept him into the team, and then we immediately get a message that they say wait until EA solves its problems with the servers. Oh, how many years have passed, but they still could not get rid of these jambs.

As far as online modes are concerned, in PES 2019 the main one is MyClub, while in FIFA 19 it is Ultimate Team. Honestly, Konami has not managed to reach EA's level in this matter. That there is only one transfer menu in FIFA 19, in which you can spend dozens of hours on lucrative deals and earning coins.

The eternal confrontation between FIFA and PES will soon receive a new round - new parts are coming out. Sports bigmir) net is trying to figure out which game will be the best this time around.

easports.com

It's no secret that fans of football simulators have long been divided into two camps. Some are supporters of FIFA, while others consider Pro Evolution Soccer to be the best soccer simulator. So which one is right? Shows the release of new parts of the series. FIFA 17 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 Coming Soon and Sports bigmir) net offers to compare the innovations of two leading football simulators.

Gameplay

The gameplay between FIFA and PES has always been strikingly different. If FIFA has always offered us high speeds and dynamics, then PES was a more measured game. In the new parts, the developers continue to adhere to their course.

EA Sports has promised in a new FIFA improved passing system, reworked set systems, improved physics and artificial intelligence. How much reality matches the expectations of the players - the release of the game will show. In the meantime, it seems that this year the Canadian studio did not focus on drastic changes in the gameplay. Ordinary players who have already managed to play the pre-release version note that the game feels more like FIFA 15. Is this a plus? It's hard to say, but the 16th part of the series was frankly disappointing in terms of gameplay.

twitter.com/officialpes

What up Pro Evolution Soccer, then they promise much more changes in terms of gameplay. In particular, a lot of attention has been paid to the play of goalkeepers who have not played the best in the previous installments of the series, as well as a lot of attention has been paid to working with ball control, which will improve the feel of the game. Among other things, the emphasis was on tactics. Tiki-taka, counter-pressing and other tactical tricks will be available to players during the match. Promise that AI ( artificial intelligence) will adjust to tactical changes.

Verdict: On first impressions, in terms of gameplay, PES has done more cardinal work and fans of the series should be satisfied. EA Sports decided to return to those developments that were used in previous parts.

Graphics

FIFA 17 boasts a new engine. Frostbite has been used in series of games like Battlefield and Mirror's Edge. Naturally, with the new engine we will have more realistic lighting, faces and fans. Also EA Sports was not too lazy and made the under-stands spaces that we can contemplate before the matches. Great attention was given to the faces of the players, which become more realistic with each series. Moreover, the coaches did not go unnoticed either. Now, real coaches such as Klopp, Guardiola or Mourinho will stand on the sidelines.

easports.com

PES while it remains on the old engine and will improve those developments that were before. If this is so, then we have to admit that in terms of the schedule, the KONAMI product will be inferior to its competitor.

Verdict: In terms of graphics, FIFA continues to lead the way.

Licenses

Licensed leagues, tournaments and clubs have always been one of FIFA's trump cards. The Canadian series in this regard is always on top and keeps its finger on the pulse of football. This time, the Japanese championship was added to the huge number of leagues. The Brazilian league, which was already present in the game, was also fully licensed. As for the national teams, it is now available in the game. It has not gone anywhere and, which has been represented in FIFA for several years. An exclusive partnership with the Premier League allows you to add the stadiums of all 20 teams to the game, and the interface during the broadcasts will accurately copy the real analogue. Now EA Sports has reached a similar agreement with La Liga, which gives us a reason to expect many new stadiums and faces in one of the next series.

twitter.com/easportsfifa

KONAMI is trying to somehow compensate for the lack of licensed leagues. This time, the Japanese studio has managed to "point to gain". Exclusive agreements with Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona will allow the team to bring these teams, their kits and stadiums into the game. In turn, PES has deprived its rival FIFA of the Camp Nou stadium, which will now only be available in the Japanese series. Concerning international tournaments, then the Asian Champions League was added to the European cups and the Copa Libertadores. The Chilean Championship will also appear in the game. As for the rest, the players will again expect teams called North London and Manchester Blue.

Verdict: PES is still far behind in this regard, but KONAMI should be given its due. This year, every effort was made to attract real tournaments and teams to the game.

In principle, I do not play computer games at all, but football simulators FIFA and PES are the very two exceptions to the rule. The reason for this is quite simple - I like football, so the more of it in my life, the better. In general, the question "Which is better: FIFA or PES?" can be equated to eternal and put in one place with "Which is better: Android or iOS?", "Is the universe infinite?" etc. But if you approach this point fundamentally, comparing these two games in terms of key parameters, you can get a completely sane result. This is what I propose to do now.

Game process

When it comes to a simulator (football or some other), then here, first of all, I want to see all the same realism. In this regard, PES is still in the role of catching up. Developers from EA Sports feel more confident in this regard. You don't have to look far for examples: just take the effect of weather on games. I don't like playing matches in FIFA, when the god of randomness chooses rain, because it complicates the gameplay: if the field is wet, the ball does not roll so fast on the lawn, the players move slower, it becomes more difficult to take the ball away from the opponent, and so on. If we talk about PES, then, unfortunately, the weather there, rather, simply acts as an option that does not affect the gameplay itself. Although, the guys from Konami have improved the tactical behavior of the computer when playing offline, but there are still a lot of things that need to be improved to catch up with FIFA. If in real life you played football, you will notice that in FIFA (especially in version 16) it behaves like a real one. Therefore, while 1: 0 in favor of FIFA.

Graphics

If we take into account the two latest versions of our football simulators, then in terms of graphics, it seems like FIFA looks better. Here even the faces of the players (not all of them, of course) are very close to the originals. PES also boasts something similar, but the number of "similar" faces there is much less. But specifically in this genre, character animation is also very important (let's call the players that). In Konami's creation, almost every player has their own individual dribbling pattern and tackling style, which depends on many factors. In FIFA, everything is much simpler: some players are copies of each other. You understand this when you have played more than 500 hours in different teams, although at first glance, different skills and abilities add variety. But, let me remind you, only at first glance. And one more point - scripting. This, too, is the brainchild of EA Sports. In football, on the contrary, you want some non-standard actions, and some top players in FIFA behave according to a template (there is not one template, but if you play for a long time, it is very noticeable). Well, I think we have 1: 1.

Leagues and teams

I think knowledgeable people (those who are in the subject) have already understood what will be discussed. Yes, it's about licensing. This is a perennial problem between PES and Konami. Here you can even remember the question of realism. Well, I can’t, being, say, a fan of Manchester City (it’s not so, if anything), play for a team called Blue Manchester in PES. Yes, developers have to somehow bypass all possible prohibitions, but HOW SO, Eh ?! By the way, Manchester City is not the only team affected. Although, on the other hand, Konami has a license until 2018 for the Champions League and Europa League. Yes, there are no such tournaments in FIFA, but there are competitions with the same principle and selection, only under a different name (you don't even pay attention to this). In short, team name licenses are not a major issue for PES today. There are not so many leagues, but somehow I don't really want to play for FC London (this is Chelsea) or for North London (Arsenal). There are patches that "fix" the names of the teams, but agree that this should not be - 2: 1.

Online Play

Here, too, everything is quite simple: there is online both there and there. But it is worth looking at the game on the Web in PES and FIFA, as it becomes clear that the guys from EA Sports are banal more experience... In FIFA (I'm talking about the last part now) there are a lot of small nuances that simplify the process itself. As they say, everything is done in this simulator for people. There are some things in PES that need some work. But this is by no means a stick in Konami's garden, it's just that the Japanese are really less on the market and have just recently found their way. As for the MyClub in PES, it can be seen that the developers are still trying to copy (indirectly, but still) FUT from EA Sports. But personally, I don't see anything wrong with that. In addition, unfortunately, in our countries many people download games and use "cracks" in a banal way, so there is no talk of playing on the Net there. By the way, this time EA Sports took this issue seriously, so there is still no “pill”. The regiment of "freeloaders" arrived. It has arrived at PES. In general, if we return to our main topic, then in the multiplayer game the leader is also FIFA, but the developers from Konami are moving to the right direction... In the meantime - 3: 1.

As for me, this is quite enough to understand that FIFA is really better at the moment. But if you take into account the progress that the PES developers have made in literally the last two or three years, then you understand that EA Sports is time to start worrying and improve your creation in every possible way. After all, if it goes on like this, then the title of "The best football simulator of all times and peoples" will be taken by PES. Let's see how the situation develops this year: FIFA 17 and PES 2017 will be released in September. If you are too football fan and from time to time you like to roll a few matches in FIFA or PES, then be sure to write your opinion on the situation in the comments. I think everyone will be interested.
