Especially - on Kaisu Mäkäräinen. From the first meters, the Finca set such a pace that she removed the question about the winner in advance. No one could compete with her. On the lines, she also shot quickly and accurately. Result - 15 seconds of superiority over Wierer at the start turned 41 at the finish. Despite the fact that the charming Dorothea also did not make mistakes, she did not allow other opponents to approach her, and remained the second iron. The top three winners were closed by a Slovak Paulina Fialkova- in his fight for bronze with Lisa Vittozzi(and again the girls on the lines worked to zero!) more quick legs... But in general, the alignment was clear long before the finish line. This is for the men Johannes Be, leading with a large margin, first gave intrigue with his two misses in the last standing. Then the three leaders passed the last circle in a friendly company. Then there was the final spurt with a fall Alexandra Loginova on the final ascent ... But we saw that the Russians can fight in the group of leaders! Specifically in this case - not for a place in the top three. But nonetheless. Initially, they did not expect much from the renewed roster of our national team. But the sprint has already shown - there is potential here! Not only Irina Starykh, who, having resumed her career, again became the leader of the team. Young biathletes do too. Even in September, Evgenia Pavlova herself had no idea that she would go to Pokljuka. And then bang right away - eighth place in the sprint! Margarita Vasilieva stayed 13th on Saturday. The old ones closed the first dozen. Not chic and shiny. But worthy!
On Sunday, almost all of our girls only improved their positions.
Pavlova especially tried. I walked along the zeros at the lines. She worked desperately with her feet. However, at the finish circle, the strength left. First, there was a hitch in the shooting, then fatigue affected. The eighth place has become the tenth. The best of ours turned out to be Old - just closed the top-8. Vasilieva, with one penalty, remained 15th.

“At the beginning it was very hard for me,” Starykh noted. - Based on how it all began, I, in principle, am happy with the result! I thought I would have to endure the whole distance.
