Denis is 14, has been engaged in athletics for only two years, and his success in Volgograd is not the first for him. Denis takes sports very seriously: "nowhere do you get such emotions as in athletics."

The coach of the Youth Sports School from Dubovka closely followed the performances of his wards Alexey Bozhko. He brought eight guys who show themselves as real all-rounders: 100 meters and 400 meters, long jump, core, relay. On the first day of the competition, none of them managed to climb the podium, but the coach is quite satisfied with the performance of the students: everyone improved their personal achievements. By the way, one of the pupils of Alexey Bozhko - Igor Korneev, more than once became a prize-winner of tournaments named after Tatyana Lebedeva and Elena Slesarenko, and the son of Alexei Yakovlevich - Ivan, is making progress in the all-around. The experienced coach is convinced that interest in athletics is not decreasing in Dubovsky district.

The geography of the competition participants is evidence that the "queen of sports" is popular not only in our region. Denis Novoseltsev (Salsk) showed a record time at a distance of 300 m with hurdles - 40, 13 seconds, and the girls in the same discipline had excellent seconds. Nikita Shapran from Pyatigorsk pushed the cannonball 15, 33 m. Stavropol long jumper Ilya Strokun flew away in the best attempt at 6.69 m. Result Irina Shevchuk from Simferopol at two hundred meters - 26, 34 sec. Igor Abramov(Rostov Oblast) in the competitions of young men born in 1999-2000 overcame the bar at a height of 5.10 m. In Volgograd, the All-Russian athletics competition "Elena Isinbayeva Cup", in which over 450 young athletes took part, has come to an end. For two days, 15-16-year-old schoolchildren competed in 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 110m s / b, 300m s / w, relay 4x100m, pole vault, long, high, triple jump and shot put.

At the personal invitation of the two-time Olympic champion, the competition was visited by the President of the International Association of Olympians, founder and president of the Peace and Sport Foundation, world champion and medalist Olympic Games v modern pentathlon, Advisor to Prince Albert II of Monaco Joel Bouzou. Also, famous Volgograd athletes attended and participated in the awarding of winners and prize-winners - Olympic champions- Tatiana Lebedeva, Elena Slesarenko, Maxim Opalev and Larisa Ilchenko.

This year, the weather gave the athletes a real test: on the first day it was cold and rainy, on the second day it became warmer and sunnier, but in the midst of the tournament a tropical rainstorm with hail fell on the stadium, and the competition even had to be interrupted for a while. Despite this, the guys' eyes were on fire, and they fought like an adult on the track and in the sectors. All participants received gifts from the Elena Isinbayeva charitable foundation, and the winners and awardees received prizes and certificates for a branded sportswear store. Elena Isinbaeva with guests of honor personally awarded all the winners and invited the guys to next year take part in her tournament. At the end of each competition day, children could take pictures with Elena and other guests of honor, as well as get their autographs.

Joel Buzu admitted in an interview with Rusathletics.com that he accepted Elena's invitation with pleasure and was very pleased with what he saw: “I was always very interested in understanding how a great person can influence those around him and what he can give to society. Tarabrin's pupil Valery Vladimirovich Ulyanov Alena won the long jump in a bitter struggle. Anastasia Nagaitseva, coach Vitaly Yuryevich Kopylov, became the silver medalist in the triple jump. Privalov Evgeniy has climbed to the podium twice. Zhenya, who trains with Tatyana Nikolaevna Potapova, won at a distance of 1500 meters and finished second in the 800 meters race.
