Calendar of matches of the zenith season. Semak provided Russia with Eurospring

The schedule of matches of football "Zenith" in the season 2018 - 2019 is very busy. The club will face the most important matches in the Russian Premier League, the Russian Cup and the Europa League. Petersburgers really missed great victories... Therefore, footballers from the banks of the Neva will try to succeed in each of the tournaments. Do they have a chance to implement their ambitious plans ?!

Schedule of matches of FC "Zenit" in the season 2018 - 2019

The wards of Sergei Semak are waiting for football battles on three fronts:, and. The RPL championship has already begun. The fights within the Europa League are about to start. And very little time remains before the first games in the Russian Cup.

Let's analyze in detail the calendar of Zenit games in each of these tournaments.

Schedule of Zenit games in RPL 2018 - 2019

Most important front. Zenit players expect 30 fights, which they will play from July 2018 to May 2019.

Last time the football team from Northern Palmyra won the top division in the 2014/2015 season. In total, the blue-white-blue 4 times won the gold medals of the top division. St. Petersburg missed the great victories of its team!

It also depends on the results of the games whether the club will be able to participate in the 2019/20 Champions League. Last seasons The blue-and-blues performed very poorly in the RPL, occupying places that were allowed to play only in the Europa League.

Judging by the opening games of the Premier League, St. Petersburg's competitors for the championship medals will be "" and "Lokomotiv". Moscow collectives have strengthened very well over the past two years.

Also, do not discount Rubin, Krasnodar, CSKA and even the modest Rostov. Any of these FCs can surprise you.

Schedule of matches "Zenith" (St. Petersburg) in the Cup of Russia 2018 - 2019

The second most important Russian national football championship. The competition started in July 2018 and will finish in May 2019. While the strongest are being identified by amateur clubs. But already in September, at the 1/16 stage, representatives of the top division will enter the fight for the trophy.

The blue-white-blue have won the Russian Cup three times: in 1999, 2010 and 2016. But in the last rally, Roberto Mancini's wards were eliminated in the 1/16 finals. The Zenit players were offended by the players of another St. Petersburg club, Dynamo. Maybe this time main team the northern capital will be luckier.

Calendar of matches of football "Zenith" in the Europa League 2018/19

According to the results of the 26th edition of the Football Premier League, the team from Northern Palmyra took only 5th place. The fifth line is an unambiguous failure for the richest and most ambitious PFC in the country. However, even such a low result allowed Zenit to qualify for the Europa League 2018/19.

Zenit players will start their way to LE from the 3rd round qualifying round... The rival of the blue-white-blue will be Dynamo Minsk. The guest meeting will take place on August 9, and the home meeting on August 16. If it is possible to break the resistance of the Belarusians, the St. Petersburg FC is waiting for the next round. There, the opponent of Sergei Semak's charges will be the winner of the pair "Hibernian" (Scotland) vs "Molde" (Norway). Football matches will take place on 23 and 30 August 2018.

If main club will not learn anything from the cultural capital, he will safely make his way to the group round of the tournament. The first tour will take place on September 20, and the last on December 6.

Zenit is a proven fighter of the second most important club championship in Europe. More than once the St. Petersburg team played in the playoffs of the LE. But the main success remains the victory in the predecessor of the Europa League, the UEFA Cup. The Blues achieved a historic triumph in the 2007/08 season!

Scary Peter

Before the match, a Danish journalist approached me and asked if Copenhagen had any chances of winning, because the opponent was so strong. His argument: he studied the statistics of “Zenith” this season and noticed that Petersburgers at home do not lose at all. There are no defeats in the blue-white-blue and in the autumn part of the Europa League.

I chuckled. Still, the statistics are deceiving: people in Europe do not follow Zenit's games closely and do not know that the team almost always wins at the starting speed. I tried to speak to the Dane in the language of advanced statistics, but of course they did not understand me.

But “Zenith” is also constantly increasing the record of the Europa League. At the main stages of the tournament, the blue-white-blue never lost at all - after the meeting with “Copenhagen” this series reached 22 matches (and together with the UEFA Cup 25 matches). If the Danish journalist knew about this, he would have fainted.

Semak's confusing scheme

Last season, at Zenit's European matches, strange protocols were published all the time. In them, the composition of the blue-white-blue was mixed, the attackers were in the place of the defenders, and the arrangement was chosen at random. As far as I know, in this way Roberto Mancini himself tried to confuse the rivals and ordered them to draw diagrams crookedly.

Sergei Semak, apparently, also has a similar fad. Before the game against Rostov, he said on TV that the team would play according to a 4-4-2 scheme, but in fact there were three defenders. But even after the match with Schalke, I asked the coach directly if he was going to make a 3-5-2 base formation. The answer was negative.

On Thursday, miracles were working again in the protocol - the players were placed according to the 4-3-3 scheme, which Zenit had not used for a long time. But in fact, there were three defenders again and no changes in the base, compared to Sunday's game.

Silence of the first half

Something has changed, though. If in the match with “Rostov” Mac who had grown into the right edge unexpectedly found himself on the left, but now Semak has changed them with Kuzyaev's flanks. This made sense also because on the right edge of the “Copenhagen” was played by the fast-footed techie Skov, the second scorer of the Danish championship. Mack has bad care, and Kuzyaev is more disciplined than the Slovak.

If with the 3-5-2 scheme Semak tried to saturate the defense and minimize scoring chances at the Zenit goal, then he succeeded. “Copenhagen” in the first half struck only once on goal - so much so that I noticed it only after studying the statistics during the break. “Zenith”, however, also almost did not appear at other people's gates. I remember only Erokhin's inaccurate head blow and Driussi's breakthrough just before the break - the defender knocked the ball out from under his feet. Otherwise - boredom, struggle and zero shots on target for two dozen people.

Dziuba only fought with opponents during the whole match. He was not allowed to enter the shock positions, so the midfielders and Driussi had to solo. Although Dziuba also played with a goal important role- he kept the ball in his body after the counterattack, waited for the partners to connect, and then they did everything for him. It's funny that the right-footed Mac, who was returned to his native curb, scored from the left.

Marchisio's exit

Immediately after the goal, Semak made a substitution, which he usually makes when it is necessary to save the match - he released Zabolotny in a pair to Dziuba. At the same time, Anton played deeply and did a lot of rough work, and with a high quality - it was difficult for the guests to break through the first line of pressure, including because of Zabolotny's actions.

In the middle of the second half, “Zenith” has traditionally reoriented to defense - the line of defense has dropped significantly, and Mak and Kuzyaev began to act more compactly. A quarter of an hour before the finish line, Semak still released Marchisio, but not instead of Ernani, who regularly lost position, but instead of Erokhin. The Italian was greeted with applause, and Semak with this gesture also showed that there was no conflict. By the way, it was Marchisio "Zenith" who put the programs on the cover - probably on purpose.

At the end of the match, the Petersburgers were pushed to the goal. In a couple of moments, the guests demanded a penalty after falling in the penalty area, and once again Zenit was rescued by Lunev. In general, that Danish journalist found out what a typical blue-white-blue victory looks like this season - with the minimum number of scoring chances and the maximum expenditure of nerves.

FC Zenit St. Petersburg will play at the Europa League group stage with Bordeaux, Copenhagen and Slavia, these are the results of today's draw. The not very impressive line-up of rivals suggests that the fans of the team can most likely plan a spring trip to the rival in the 1/16 finals of the LE.

Let us remind you that Zenit reached the group stage of the LE 2018/2019 after defeating Dynamo Minsk and Molde from Norway in problem-free confrontations.

The results of the draw did not bring the St. Petersburg team any giants or difficult opponents, including because Zenit was seeded in the first basket together with London's Arsenal, Chelsea, German Bayer, Roman Lazio and Spanish "Sevilla", the most "Liga-European", perhaps, the club.

So, in the 2018/2019 season, here are the rivals that will face Zenit in Group C:
- "Bordeaux" (Bordeaux, France);
- "Copenhagen" (Copenhagen, Denmark);
- "Slavia" (Prague, Czech Republic).

Schedule of Zenit matches in the Europa League 2018/2019

Zenit's Europa League matches will take place on 20 September, 4 October, 25 October, 8 November, 29 November and 13 December.

Round 1, September 20: Copenhagen - Zenit (away);
Round 2, October 4: Zenit - Slavia (away);
Round 3, October 25: Zenit - Bordeaux (away);
Round 4, November 8: Bordeaux - Zenit (home match);
Round 5, November 29: Zenit - Copenhagen (home match);
Round 6, December 13: Slavia - Zenit (home match).

It is obvious that such rivals are quite capable of the current Zenit.

True, the fans, it seems, are not yet very happy with what is happening in the team, despite the fact that it solves all the problems at the moment, and in the Russian Championship it is completely with a 100% result. At least in response to the question of V., the former Zenit goalkeeper, and now his deputy sports director, about "how do you like the group?"

Russian clubs in European competition 2017/18: dates, rounds, possible opponents

We are studying all the rivals of our teams in the next European Cup season.

Khabarovsk

If for ordinary fans who had a chance to “break through” a long-distance departure, SKA-Khabarovsk's entry into the Premier League was joyful, then for clubs, especially those playing in European competitions, it was more of a headache. In the first round, Zenit will fly to the Far East, and in the third, on July 30, right between qualifying matches Champions League qualifying round - CSKA. General director of "army men" Roman Babaev has already announced that after the European Cup draw, adjustments to the calendar are possible. And "Spartak" plays with the Khabarovsk team away on August 27 - two weeks before the start group stage Champions League.

However, there is a possibility that Khabarovsk fans will never see matches with top clubs at the Lenin Stadium. Head of the RFPL Sergey Pryadkin hinted that SKA could start the season at Arena Khimki due to the lack of compliance of the main stadium with the league's requirements.

Everything on H. Russian football rises from the bottom

Why Khabarovsk's entry into the Premier League is actually very cool.

Derby

Opens and closes RFPL season returning derby "Spartak" and "Dynamo". It is interesting that it was the red and white ones who indirectly sent their eternal rivals to the FNL in the season before last. Nevertheless, the approximate dates for these matches were chosen quite well: July 16 and May 13.

What can not be said about the main derby of the country. If the first match at VEB-Arena will be played in the 6th round, approximately on August 13, then the second - in the last round before the break on December 10. Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Spartak" that there is also a reserve date - February 20. Apparently, this match will be the second snow derby in the history of confrontation between these teams after the legendary game in 2002.

Another interesting moment: Spartak will play all matches with direct competitors until the winter break. The derby with CSKA has already been mentioned above, the red-and-white will play against Zenit on August 6 and November 26, and against Krasnodar on July 30 and November 19.

For the first time in the Premier League, the St. Petersburg derby will be played. On "Petrovsky", where "Tosno" now owns, - already on July 30, in the third round, and on "Krestovsky" - in the 17th round, on November 19.

Winter

As in the past year, the schedule of winter tours also raises questions. For example, on November 26, Ural and Amkar play home matches in Yekaterinburg and Perm, respectively. Usually at this time of the year there is roughly "-15" and snow. In the 20th round, on December 10, these teams again play at home, while the southern Krasnodar and Anji are away.

Last round

If the fate of the championship is not decided before the last round, CSKA and Zenit will gain some advantage over their rivals, who will play at home with Anji and SKA, respectively. Spartak will go to visit Dynamo, and Krasnodar will host Rubin Kazan. Lokomotiv is going to Tula in the last round.

After the break for the national team matches, the St. Petersburg football club "Zenith" expects a large number of games in three tournaments of the 2018/2019 season, with detailed schedule which can be found on our resource.

Battle with the champion and start in the Europa League

On September 16, Zenit will go to an away match in the city of Orenburg, where they will play against the team of the same name. Due to the tightness of the calendar, in this confrontation it is important to dial maximum amount points. After all, on the 20th, there will be a departure to Denmark for the match of the starting round of the Europa League 2018/2019 against Copenhagen, and on September 23, at the home stadium of Saint Petersburg, a principled game will take place with the Champion of Russia last season - Moscow Lokomotiv. After such a busy period, on September 26, the Russian Cup 2018/2019 match will take place against Astrakhan football club Volgar, where it will be possible to rotate the composition and rest for the leading players. The month of September for Zenit will end with an away match on the 30th against the outsider of the Russian championship, Makhachkala's Anji.

All attention to the European Cups!

On October 4, the Blues and Whites will play their first home meeting in the 2018/19 Europa League group stage against Czech club Slavia. On the 7th, Zenit will host one of the most strongest teams Russia - Krasnodar, which has a very light calendar before this game and it is likely that it will be a meeting between the two leaders of the championship at that time.

After that, there will be another break for the matches of the national teams and Zenit will return to the fields of the country on October 21 in an away game against Dynamo Moscow. The meeting following this match will be decisive in the group stage of the 2018/2019 Europa League. On October 25, the strong French club "Bordeaux" will visit the residents of St. Petersburg. Surely in the confrontation with this team, the fate of the first and second places in the group will be decided. On the 28th, there will be a departure to the game of the 12th round of the Russian Football Championship against the Samara "Wings of the Soviets", and the month will end with the game of the Cup of the country on October 31 against the winner of the pair "Syzran - Rostov".

Major matches of autumn

On November 4, the game of the 13th round of the Russian Football Premier League will take place, in which Zenit at the St. Petersburg stadium will host the Grozny club Akhmat. After that, the blue and white, on the 8th, as part of the 4th round of the Europa League group stage, will go to important match to France, to visit Bordeaux. Then, on November 11, they will leave for Moscow for the central game of the 14th round of the Russian Championship against CSKA. CSKA will be in shape by that time and the match promises to be hot. On November 25, after the friendly games of the national teams, the football club "Rostov" will come to visit the club from the banks of the Neva, which this season is demonstrating good-looking football. The last game in November will be Zenit's home meeting on the 29th against Danish Copenhagen in the 5th round of the Europa League group stage.

Final games of the year

In December, St. Petersburg residents will have four matches. The month will open with a meeting on December 3 in Tula with the local Arsenal, and in 2 days the first match of the ¼ Russian Cup final will take place. December 9 Zenit will hold last game on the home arena 2018 against strong Kazan Rubin. Departure to the Czech Republic on December 13 to play against Slavia, within the framework of final round the group stage of the Europa League, will be the end of the calendar year for the blue and white and will determine the final composition of the participants in the playoff stage of this tournament.

Zenit Games in 2019

2019 kicks off for everything Russian football and for Zenit, in particular, by the matches on February 14 and 21 within the framework of the 1/16 finals of the Europa League 2018/19, the opponent has not yet been determined. On the 24th, the return game of the ¼ Cup of Russia will take place. In the case of the passage of the blue and white, the first semifinal meeting of the above tournament will take place on February 28, the return game will take place on April 3.

Start of the second round of the RPL

The Russian Premier League will return to the country's fields on March 3 in Yekaterinburg, where the game will pass Round 18 between the local Ural and Zenit. Unfortunately, now it is impossible to imagine how far St. Petersburg will go in European competitions, but it is worth noting that the matches of the 1/8 finals of the 2018/19 Europa League will be held on March 7 and 14. On the 10th of the month, the St. Petersburg football club will host Ufa at its stadium, and on March 17, a principled away game against Spartak Moscow will take place. Such a busy month will end with a match with the outsider Orenburg on the 31st.

The decisive meetings of spring

In April, Zenit expects two difficult away confrontations - on April 7, Moscow will host the central meeting of the 22nd round against Lokomotiv, and on 21st in Krasnodar, the local club of the same name will host the blue and white. These matches will be critical in determining the locations in standings Russian Football Championship. But at the home stadium of St. Petersburg residents are waiting for opponents below the level - Anji, Dynamo and Krylya Sovetov, games with which will take place on April 14, 25 and 28, respectively.

Finish of the season

May month calendar Russian Premier League favors Zenit, with the exception of the 28th round home game against CSKA, which will take place on May 12, where the fate of the gold medals will most likely be determined. Otherwise, excellent prospects open up to score the maximum number of points in the final segment. On May 5, a trip to Grozny will take place to visit the local Akhmat, and on the 19th to Rostov-on-Don, where the 29th round match between Rostov and Zenit will take place at the Rostov Arena stadium. In the final game of the Russian Football Championship, the blue and white will host the modest Yenisei from Krasnoyarsk.
