2nd qualifying round of the european league. How much did Russian clubs earn in European competitions

For starters, a short introduction, published at the beginning of each issue of the rubric. Please note that the UEFA Club Rankings below are interim and non-final, published in order to understand the weekly dynamics of clubs through the season. The final ranking will be published after the end of the European Cup season and will provide the data for the seeding of the 2019/20 Champions League and Europa League draws.

Alas, alas, the loss of points in a dense group of leaders in European club football does not go unnoticed. Following the results of the last European Cup week, Shakhtar dropped out of the top ten, letting Porto go ahead; The capital's Dynamo remained in the 21st position, but pulled themselves up by a point to the Istanbul Besiktas. Now from twenty strongest people of Kiev at a distance of one victory.

Poltava Vorskla, which has completed the minimum three-point “standard” required for the Europa League group, has not changed yet, but each next point scored in calendar matches will already add rating points to Sachko's team. So far, the Poltava team has 5.00 in the current season, and in order for the club to go up, Vorskla needs to surpass 20 percent of the country's coefficient, at the moment - 7.340. That is, roughly speaking, three more points scored (a win and a draw, or three draws), and Vorskla's personal rating will finally become more than the base 20 percent of the association coefficient. Really? We will not get ahead of ourselves, we will just believe and cheer.

Note 1: From the 2018-2019 season, the seeding of clubs is determined solely by their personal ranking - the points scored by the club in the last five euro seasons in the main rounds. In the table, this is the "Points" column. 20% of the coefficient of the country that the club represents will no longer affect the club's rating (previously these indicators were summed up), unless the club's personal rating is less than these 20% of the country's coefficient. In this case, the club is "seeded" with a 20% country coefficient.

For the convenience of readers, in the last two columns for each team, its “seed” coefficient is highlighted in bold - either personal or 20 percent of the country, depending on merit to the European football community.

Note 2: Scoring system

1. Clubs relegated from the Champions League will now have another chance in the Europa League. And therefore, clubs receive points for relegation from qualification only in the Europa League.

2. For a knockout in the Europa League Preliminary Round, the club receives a “consolation prize” of 0.5 points, for a knockout in the first qualification - 1.00 points, for a knockout in the second qualification - 1.50 points, for a knockout in the third qualification - 2.00 points, in the fourth qualification (aka playoff round) – 2.5 points. These points are not cumulative with each other, and are given once, depending on the stage of departure.

3. If a team that qualified for the Europa League group stage scored less than three points, 3.0 points are automatically added to its club rating, regardless of the number of points scored in the group stage matches (for wins and draws). These "consolation" points are not cumulative with those scored in matches.

4. The points scored for wins and draws in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League and Europa League do not go straight to the individual club rankings. Just on group stage. In qualifying - only "consolation prizes" for relegation.

5. In the main rounds, 2 points are awarded for a win, 1 point for a draw.

6. Bonuses:

We draw the attention of readers that the indicators prescribed in the General column will come into force next season. For the current season, the totals for the 2017-2018 season are valid.

Country cells are highlighted in yellow.

The cells of the teams that continue the campaign for European competitions are highlighted in blue.

The cells of teams from countries whose plenipotentiaries have not yet been eliminated from the Euro tournaments of the current season are highlighted in green, and for which 20% of the country's seasonal coefficient continues to be added.

HOW MUCH RUSSIAN CLUBS HAVE ALREADY EARNED?

UEFA will pay 2.55 billion euros to clubs participating in European competition this season. Of these, 2.04 billion euros will be received by the participants in the Champions League and the match for the Super Cup, and 510 million euros will go to the clubs of the Europa League. This money is divided into four categories: guaranteed payouts, performance bonuses, historical payouts, and TV rights. Of these categories, the first three can currently be calculated.

UEFA has increased payments to clubs for participation in the group stage of the Champions League. If a year ago the association paid 12.7 million euros to each of the 32 clubs, now this amount has increased to 15.25 million. Also, UEFA has significantly increased the cost of winning in the group stage - in the last draw it cost 1.5 million euros, now - 2.7.

All 48 clubs participating in the Europa League group stage will receive a €2.9m bonus from UEFA. For the victory in this round, the teams earn 570 thousand euros each, a draw is estimated at 190 thousand. If the club takes first place in the group stage, it will receive an additional million euros from UEFA, and 500 thousand euros for the second.

UEFA also introduced the distribution of funds according to historical indicators. The organization has announced that a portion of the proceeds will be distributed to clubs based on their performance over the last ten seasons and their legacy. The better a team has performed since 2009, the more it will earn. The maximum payout in this category will go to Real Madrid - 35.5 million euros, the least of all for the debutant of the Europa League "Sarpsborg" - 71.5 thousand euros.

"Ufa" received bonuses for participation in qualifying

CSKA earned the most at the moment - 33.3 million euros. CSKA will receive 15.25 million for participation in the Champions League; 3.6 million euros for the victory over Real Madrid and a draw with Victoria, as well as 14.4 million euros "for ten years of performances." Lokomotiv, despite three defeats, will be paid almost 20 million euros by UEFA.

Of the remaining Russian clubs in European competition, Spartak earned the least - just over 5 million. Ufa, which was eliminated for qualifications, will receive less than a million from UEFA. It should be noted that teams will receive additional bonuses for reaching the playoffs - the 1/8 finals of the Champions League is estimated at 9.5 million euros, the 1/16 finals of the Europa League - 500 thousand euros.

IS THERE A DIFFERENCE IN INCOME COMPARED TO THE LAST SEASON?

Yes, the difference is significant.

Krasnodar received bonuses for participating in qualifying, CSKA and Spartak played in the Champions League

Yesterday, UEFA published financial reports for the past season. According to him, CSKA earned the most for playing in European competitions - 26 million euros, Spartak received 20.5 million. Both clubs played in the Champions League, from there they advanced to the playoffs of the Europa League. Zenit and Lokomotiv - about 8.5 million. All these payments were taken into account with income from the sale of TV rights. How much will clubs get from TV in this season, is now impossible to calculate.

You can see how much the premium Russian teams in the Champions League have increased compared to two seasons. All because of the increase in guaranteed payments and "history income". CSKA, even if they lost all three matches in the group, would have earned 29.5 million euros, which is 4 million more than last season. Then the army team reached the quarterfinals of the Europa League.

Lokomotiv has already earned more for participating in the Champions League than Spartak a year earlier. Then the red-whites took third place in the group, which brought them 19.5 million euros. Another million euros "Spartak" rescued from the Europa League. That is, the new club bonus system has had a positive impact on the budgets of Russian clubs.

The most offensive thing should be the leaders of Spartak. Muscovites failed to reach the group stage of the Champions League, losing in qualification to the Greek PAOK. According to preliminary estimates, Spartak lost 17 million euros due to the summer failure without TV payments - in the Champions League the red and white would have been guaranteed 22 million euros, in the Europa League they earned only 5 million.

HOW MANY POINTS HAVE RUSSIAN CLUBS BRINGED TO THE UEFA Odds Table?

The UEFA coefficient table affects the number of teams from each association in European competition. The first four championships receive four places in the Champions League and three in the Europa League. The associations ranked 5th and 6th each enter three teams in the Champions League and the Champions League. Tournaments from 7th to 10th place qualify for two clubs in the Champions League.

The total number of points earned by all clubs in a season is divided by the number of teams participating in tournaments. All results for the last five years are summarized. This is how the UEFA coefficients are obtained.

A victory in a match in the group stages of the Champions League and the UEL is worth 2 points, for a draw each club receives one. In qualifying, 1 point is given for a win, 0.5 points for a draw. Clubs participating in the Champions League group stage receive an additional 4 points from UEFA. For teams from the Europa League, such bonuses are not prescribed.

kV, kN, kP is the result of matches in qualification

After three rounds Russian teams earned 27.5 points, that is, 4.583 points will go to the odds table (27.5 points divided by six RPL representatives). This is the 13th result of the season. Even Norway, Serbia and Scotland are ahead of Russia. In the overall five-year table of coefficients, the RPL is on the 6th line, ahead of the Portuguese Championship, which is in the 7th position, by 5 points. Usually such a gap is not recouped in one season, so the RPL may not worry - three Russian clubs will still play in the Champions League.
