For five years, the Union of Mechanical Engineers of Russia with the country's leading universities has been the organizer of the Zvezda Multidisciplinary Engineering Olympiad.

It was formed in 2015 by the merger of two Olympiads for schoolchildren: the Multidisciplinary Engineering Olympiad "The Future of Russia" and the Olympiad for schoolchildren "Star - Talents in the Service of Defense and Security". The main goal of the intellectual competition is to identify the most capable and gifted schoolchildren who will make up the country's future engineering elite.

The organizers include the All-Russian Industrial Association of Employers "Union of Machine-Builders of Russia", enterprises of the military-industrial complex and Russian universities, including Togliatti State University.

The Zvezda Olympiad is aimed at developing and stimulating students' interest in research and engineering activities, motivation to enroll in engineering specialties.

The objectives of the Olympiad are:

- practical development of the concept of lifelong learning through

expanding interaction between educational organizations higher education and educational organizations;

- creation necessary conditions to support creativity and

interest in scientific activity among talented youth, dissemination and popularization of scientific knowledge among young people;

- popularization of higher education programs implemented in educational institutions higher education Russian Federation.

In addition to general education subjects (Russian, physics, mathematics, social studies, history), participants carry out project assignments in classrooms that correspond to the problems of the real sector of the economy, in areas of training and specialties of higher education.

This Olympiad is included in the list of the Russian Council of School Olympiads for 2018/19 academic year, annually approved by the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, which makes it possible for the winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad, having passed the profile exams for 75 points and higher, to enter Russian universities without entrance examinations, out of competition. The rest of the students receive extra points to the exam in the account individual achievements.

In the framework of Federal Law No. 273, the Olympiad promotes the development of a network form of interaction between enterprises and educational organizations.

For five years, about a million schoolchildren from more than 80 regions of the country took part in the Zvezda IIO. Of the total number of participants in the Olympiad, more than 80% of schoolchildren enter universities in their chosen specialties.

The qualifying round of the Zvezda Moscow Institute for the 2018/19 academic year will begin on November 5, 2018. The stage is held in full-time and online mode.

To attend any events of NRNU MEPhI, schoolchildren and their parents must have a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation (birth certificate for those who do not have a passport)

NRNU MEPhI, together with a number of leading technical universities, takes part in organizing and conducting the Multidisciplinary Engineering Olympiad "Zvezda" in the field of "Engineering and Technology" in the direction of "Nuclear Power Engineering and Technology". The Zvezda Olympiad (Engineering and Technology) is the successor to the Future of Russia Multidisciplinary Engineering Olympiad. The Olympiad is included in the List of School Olympiads for the 2017-2018 academic year, level 3.

WINNERS AND AWARDS OF THE OLYMPIAD WILL RECEIVE SIGNIFICANT BENEFITS WHEN ENROLLING UNIVERSITIES!

The Olympiad is held in two stages for schoolchildren in grades 7-11.

The assignment of the qualifying stage is complex and contains tasks in mathematics, physics, formal logic. Up to 45% of the best participants in the qualifying round will be admitted to the final stage.

The final stage will be held in full-time form (for schoolchildren of all grades) in March 2018 at NRNU MEPhI.

The winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad are determined based on the results of the final stage. No more than 25% of the best participants in the final stage can become winners and prize-winners.

Multidisciplinary engineering Olympiad Zvezda (hereinafter referred to as the Olympics) was created in 2015 by merging two Olympiads: the Zvezda - Talents in the Defense and Security Service Olympiad and the Future of Russia Multidisciplinary Engineering Olympiad.

The main goal of the Olympics - development and stimulation of the interest of students in grades 6-11 in research activities, their early vocational guidance and the development of interest in their future profession.

Objectives of the Olympiad :

- practical development of the concept of lifelong learning by expanding interaction between educational institutions of higher education and general education organizations;

- creating the necessary conditions to support creativity and interest in scientific activities among talented youth, disseminating
and popularization of scientific knowledge among young people;

- popularization of higher education programs implemented
in educational institutions of higher education of the Russian Federation.

The format of the Olympiad contributes to the solution of this goal and the set tasks. In addition to general education subjects (Russian, physics, mathematics, social studies, history), participants carry out project assignments in classrooms that correspond to the problems of the real sector of the economy, in the areas of training and specialties of higher education:

ü Mechanical engineering;

ü Materials technology;

ü Aviation and rocket and space technology;

ü Nuclear Energy and Technology;

ü Engineering and technology of shipbuilding and water transport;

ü Electronics, radio engineering and communication system;

ü Engineering and technology of ground transport;

ü Oil and gas business;

ü Construction.

The essence design work consists in the proposal and calculation substantiation of one of the best design and technological proposals for solving the Olympiad problem posed to the participant.

This Olympiad is included in the list of the Russian Council of Olympiads for schoolchildren for the 2018/19 academic year, which is annually approved by the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, which makes it possible for schoolchildren-winners of the Olympiad to enter a university on preferential terms (each university independently establishes special admission rights for training: the right to admission without entrance examinations, the right to equalize 100 points in the corresponding USE subject (if the USE result is 75 points and above), the award of additional points on account of individual achievements (included in the total of competitive points if the USE result is below 75 points). admission to universities for the winners and prize-winners of the final stage of the IIO "Zvezda" is maintained for 4 years.

In connection with the growing importance of the Multidisciplinary Engineering Olympiad of the IIO "Zvezda", President V.V. Putin instructed to include in the co-financing plan of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation No. Pr-1344, paragraph 2b from 2018.

Winners and prize-winners of the Zvezda IIO regularly participate in various international forums and conferences, the largest Russian engineering and technical events ( International Aviation and Space Salon "MAKS", etc.). The Olympiad is held by the Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education "South Ural State University" (National Research University). NArFU is a co-organizer of the Olympiad.

First round - qualifying

The qualifying (school) stage is held in full-time form in educational organizations (schools) according to the schedule, NArFU, as well as in correspondence form in on-line mode using the Internet. Duration qualifying round Olympiads 60-90 min.

Second round - full-time (final)

Winners and awardees of the Zvezda Olympiad receive benefits when entering Russian universities. In the new order of "Admission to training on educational programs higher education "(Order No. 1147 of October 14, 2015 of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, Articles 33, 37, 38, 39 regulate the accounting of results for 4 years following the year of the corresponding Olympiad).
