Career
Dmitry Kagarlitsky began his professional career in 2006 as part of the Mytishchi Atlant, having previously played for the farm club of his native Cherepovets Severstal. In his debut season, Dmitry played only 2 matches on the court, without gaining a single point, nevertheless, already in next year he scored his first goal for a top-level club near Moscow.
On November 5, 2008, the Mytishchi club entered into a cooperation agreement with the Higher League team of HC "Ryazan", immediately after which Kagarlitsky joined the new team, where in 43 matches he managed to score 44 (13 + 31) points. Despite his productive game, Dmitry played only three matches in the next season of the Kontinental Hockey League, having again spent most of the season in the Major League as part of the Klin "Titan", where he also noted high scoring, gaining 29 (10 + 19) points in 36 matches.
On May 21, 2010 Kagarlitsky left the Mytishchi club, after which he signed a contract with the Moscow club Krylya Sovetov. As part of "KS" in the debut VHL season Dmitry played 59 matches in which he scored 28 (9 + 19) points. On May 30, 2011 Kagarlitskiy signed a two-year agreement with Novokuznetsk Metallurg.
International
As part of the Russian national team, Dmitry Kagarlitsky took part in the 2007 junior world championship, in which he, together with the team, won gold medals, gaining 2 (1 + 1) points in 7 matches played.

Yesterday the Cup of the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region started - one of the main pre-season tournaments for the clubs of the Continental Hockey League (KHL). In Nizhny Novgorod, for the first time, viewers will see the outlines of the game and the combination of links that are played for the upcoming season by the local Torpedo, Moscow, Riga and Minsk Dynamo, Yekaterinburg Avtomobilist and the capital's Spartak.
The renewed Dynamo Moscow is of particular interest. In the spring and summer, the blue and white reinforced with a group of star newcomers in the person of Vadim Shipachev, Dmitry Kagarlitsky, Maksim Afinogenov, Andrei Mironov, Mix Indrashis and Patrick Zakrisson. Great expectations coaches and experts put on a bunch of natives of Cherepovets, pupils of the local "Severstal" Shipachev and Kagarlitsky, who are playing in the top three of the attack.
31-year-old Vadim Shipachev after leaving hometown in St. Petersburg SKA twice won the Gagarin Cup, became the world champion as part of the Russian national team, and also won silver and two bronze medals at the World Cup. But last season turned out to be controversial for the player. Departure to the National hockey league(NHL) turned into a conflict with the Vegas Golden Knights and an early return to the Northern capital. After that, the hockey player as part of the Russian national team won the gold of the Olympics in Pyeongchang, but he took a direct part only in kick-off match against the team of Slovakia (2: 3). This was followed by a playoff, not bad according to statistics, in SKA, but at the end of it, the club and the player parted.
Dmitry Kagarlitsky, who has been the main star of Severstal for the last four seasons, helped his native club to reach the playoffs and avoid being expelled from the KHL. In an interview with Izvestia, the hockey player shared his expectations of the future game with Shipachev, told how in March he cut the hair of Severstal head coach Alexander Gulyavtsev, who promised to shave his head if he got into the playoffs, and also expressed the hope that his own team would not be in danger transfer to the Major Hockey League (VHL).
- Have you already settled in the capital? Is it difficult to adjust to the Moscow rhythm after Cherepovets?
No. I still lived in the Moscow region for four years, when I played for Atlant in Mytishchi. This, of course, is not exactly Moscow, but close to it. So for me moving to the capital turned out to be morally easy. Moreover, my wife and I have an apartment in Moscow. And in the off-season we come here, we have been living here for at least a month. Therefore, the adaptation went according to plan, without any particular difficulties.
- In which area did you settle?
Horoshevo-Mnevniki. It so happened that not far from the Megasport arena, where we will play home matches in the first half of the season. My wife and I, of course, did not guess when we bought housing. I just liked the apartment, liked the area. He was recommended to us by our friend Sasha Bumagin, with whom I played for Severstal - he also has an apartment there. In the end, the place turned out to be successful - home arena nearby. AND Main coach lives nearby - Vladimir Vorobyov and I have already joked on this topic. He talked about it back in the summer when we met after my transfer to Dynamo.
- When offers from clubs were considered in the spring, did the availability of housing become an argument in favor of Moscow?
To be honest, until the last moment the priority option was to extend the contract with Severstal. The interest was not only from Dynamo, but now it would be incorrect to say who else came up with proposals. There were both from the West and from the East, but it makes no sense to stir it up. In any case, the story of the apartment did not play a key role, since until recently I was inclined to stay in Cherepovets. But Dynamo showed persistence. We met with Vladimir Anatolyevich several times. He said that he was counting on me very much, explained what role in the team I would be assigned. We discussed a lot of the nuances of joint work then - we can retell all this for a long time. But such conversations with the head coach persuaded me to try myself at Dynamo. As a result, my wife and I decided that something in life needs to be changed.
- What exactly did your coach tell you?
He explained that he was counting on me in the majority. And he plans to give a lot of playing time. It is clear that no coach will guarantee such positions. If I don't score, I will be removed from the first link. It all depends on me - there will definitely be a chance to prove myself in leading roles.
- From the very beginning it was decided that you will play in the same link with Shipachev?
Vorobyov said that in any case we would start together. Vadik found out that I plan to sign a contract with Dynamo, I found out that he also tends to move to the club. We phoned and talked about this for a long time. Not that this would affect our choice - we made a separate agreement with Dynamo. But after this dialogue, I decided: it would be nice to play together with Shipachev. This is a strong center forward, whose merits do not even need to be listed. And Vladimir Anatolyevich said that so far he sees us together. It was initially interesting to me, because we had never played in a string before. Therefore, the lapping process will not be easy.
- You didn't have time to cross at Severstal?
Only in the second team did they play together. And not even in one link. I was 16 years old, and he was 18. It is clear that since then both he and I have grown a lot. Although Shipachev's passing culture was already noticeable at that time. Since then, he has only developed it.
- Kept in touch after leaving on different teams?
No, we at Severstal have never had a particularly close relationship. He was born in 1987, I was born in 1989. At that time we had different friends, different companies. In the second team, guys 18-19 years old, like Shipachev, were already considered veterans - against our background.
- When he returned from the NHL last fall, Severstal actively used rumors about his possible arrival at his home club - head coach Alexander Gulyavtsev even gave interviews against the backdrop of a sweater with the name of Vadim. Have you discussed the option of returning him to Cherepovets?
We had a simple human conversation with words of encouragement. And other guys from Severstal also wanted to support Vadim in that difficult situation for him. We were sure that he would not come to the team. But in a situation when Shipachev parted with Vegas very hard and the media took up arms against him, I just wanted to support him, to show that his native club had not forgotten him. Therefore, together with the press service, we made a number of statements so that Vadik would return to Russia in a good mood.
- Shipachev went overseas at the age of 30. You will be the same next year. Would you agree to go there if possible?
I have never had an offer from the NHL. Therefore, there is no point in thinking and talking about it. If there was a proposal, I would consider it. But I never had them, and it makes no sense to ask for and look for some options. I don’t want to go where they don’t expect me.
Mix Indrashis started preseason training in your team, and the last week of training was under Nizhny Novgorod finished by Daniil Tarasov. Do you have an understanding who will enter the season in your top three?
I don’t know what will happen next. It's too early to tell. Much will become clear at the end of the tournament for the Cup of the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. I will say for myself: I really like to play with Dania Tarasov. A guy with a head, struggles a lot and does the rough work. The top scorer among Dynamo strikers last season - it says a lot. Highly good hockey player with experience playing in America.
- Last season, Severstal was on the verge of being expelled from the KHL, but was saved from relegation by making the playoffs and many marketing campaigns. But this spring the team was again at the end of the club rankings. Are there any fears that you did not save Severstal from the VHL, but only delayed its departure?
Do not know. Let's see. In Cherepovets, an excellent team was formed last year. And now the team is good. I communicate with the guys from Severstal - they are looking forward to the start of the season with optimism. I think this year they will show too good hockey... I hope the team won't have any problems getting into the playoffs. There will be no such thing as last season, when the resolution of this issue was delayed until the last match of the regular season. I think they will nullify all the talk about their expulsion from the KHL. This is already such a hackneyed topic that I don't really want to return to it. I hope Severstal will close this topic in the coming season and never return to it.
- Was Gulyavtsev's "close to zero" haircut your debut as a hairdresser?
Oh sure. To be honest, I was a little worried, because it was important not to harm my own coach. (smiles)... Although I had to do everything without a warm-up. I just came to the locker room, they gave me a typewriter and said: "Bray!" We knew about this promise from Gulyavtsev and understood that we would have to do it. But I didn't think it was that day. But it turned out that there was nothing difficult in this: he took the typewriter, pressed the button and started working.

The famous forward Dmitry Kagarlitsky named the main reason for his move from Severstal to Dynamo Moscow.
A pupil of Cherpovets hockey Dmitry Kagarlitsky over the past four years in the KHL has become a real living symbol of Severstal. The talented striker could have changed the club for a long time - there were enough lucrative offers. But he stubbornly remained in his own team, which found itself in a very difficult situation.
In the 2017/18 season, Severstal faced the prospect of relegation from the elite division. But the Cherepovets team, led by Captain Kagarlitsky, did not accept such a gloomy "diagnosis." She gave a real fight, and won it, securing the club's registration in the KHL, thanks primarily to her sports results.
At the end of the season, Kagarlitsky was included in the symbolic national team of the league and received a memorable "Golden helmet" at the closing gala KHL season... And also signed a new contract with Dynamo Moscow. Although the powerful St. Petersburg club claimed it ...

- I had a very a good choice from teams not just good, but those in which I would like to play. But then I, or rather we (Dmitry looks expressively at his wife) chose Dynamo and do not regret it.
- How influenced your decision was the opportunity to play in one troika with your idol?
- Who is your idol?
- Well, of course! Shipachev is the idol of Cherepovets! And he also signed a contract with Dynamo
- Ah, Vadik ... Well, of course, I don't have posters with his photo at home, but ... We, of course, phoned him before signing the contracts. We discussed everything, discussed ... One might say, we made a decision together. The fact that we will play together is important. Vadim is one of the best Russian center-forward. Already among those who play in the KHL - that's for sure. It will be very interesting to play with him.
- That is, you phoned: "Vadik, are we going to Dynamo?" Let's go! " So what?
- Well, not that simple, of course. I just listened to his opinion on this matter. After all, Shipachev had other options besides Dynamo. We discussed a lot. Not that the contract was negotiated. But we exchanged impressions. How I see this situation, and how is he. And the contracts were already signed separately.
When you signed an agreement with Dynamo, was there a conversation with the management that you and Shipachev would play together in the striking unit?
- There was talk about such a possibility. But it all depends on the specific result. If we don't succeed together, the coaches are unlikely to leave us in the same top three. But it is very possible that we will start training at the same link. And then - how coaching staff will decide. Dynamo's line-up is very decent this year. In such a team, it will be great to go out on the ice with each player.
- There were a lot of arguments at the family council - Peter, Moscow or Cherepovets?
- We don't argue at all. We are discussing and debating. My wife and I had a debate over dinner for a month. Weighed all the pros and cons. As a result, I decided to leave Cherepovets. But I am leaving Severstal in good hands. I am sure that Danya Vovchenko will be the team leader next season. I have no doubt about that. The main thing is not to be kidnapped from Cherepovets in a year! And so this is a player with a great future. Besides Dani, there are many strong young guys at Severstal. Now vacancies in the first and second links have become vacant. They have good chance prove yourself. I know my boys well!

They met when Dmitry was already a famous hockey player (even Wikipedia wrote about him), and Catherine did not understand hockey at all and did not hear about the thundering glory of her future spouse. Dmitry Kagarlitsky left his homeland at the age of 17 and played for many clubs and cities from Novokuznetsk to Donetsk, but found a wife in Cherepovets. Where he was born, there he came in handy (since last year Kagarlitsky is the leader of the Cherepovets Severstal). Here he got married.
- We met at the birthday party of our mutual friend,- says the weak half of the Kagarlitsky tandem. - We were introduced to each other, but this acquaintance was limited. And after a while he took my phone number from our mutual friend. Wrote a text message: "How are you?" We started to correspond. And I saw each other when I asked him for a stick for a friend who plays hockey. He called and said that he would come in 15 minutes with a club. We talked for an hour, and from that time on we began to communicate quite often, we went to a restaurant. They also walked my dog together in the evenings and talked a lot.
“Of course, I remember our first meeting,- says Dmitry. - What attracted you? A beauty, a clever girl, a very pleasant companion ... But also a daring one, do not put your finger in your mouth - she will bite off ” .
Beautiful and smart Katya is a graduate economist with a passion for painting. But in Ice Palace she is not going to come to her husband's games with an easel yet. “I don’t paint portraits, I like landscapes and city views more, I give them to my family and friends”,- says the girl.
- Creativity is mine, as a child I can become an artist,- continues Ekaterina. - I am not fond of sports, I have never been interested in hockey, he entered my life with Dima. When I first came to the match, I was very surprised that so many people come to watch the games and generally live hockey. At first I didn't know anything about hockey - no rules, no length of periods, nothing. Over time, Dima began to explain everything to me on the sly. I don't know everything about hockey yet, but I try to learn. This is now a part of my life.
Now Ekaterina does not miss a single Severstal match - she comes to home games and even follows the team to nearby cities for away matches, so as not to leave for a long time. He does not hide the fact that the first acquaintance with hockey did not cause enthusiastic emotions: the beloved flashed here and there on the ice, as soon as you see it, and he is already on the bench, and another link enters the court. But the fact that a coward does not play hockey, Catherine realized very quickly.
- Dima does not talk about his sores, and even less does he complain about them,- says Ekaterina. - Last season, he played 60 matches, and sometimes he had to go out through can’t. He does not spare himself on the ice, a real fighter.
- It's always nice when your wife is rooting for you, and even more so sitting on the podium,- Dmitry admits. - This, of course, inspires and gives strength.
Kagarlitsky's efforts to please the girl are for the good of the team and, along the way, please thousands of Severstal fans. Last year, he scored 44 points, becoming the club's top scorer. “When I first saw how he threw the puck and how the stadium roared, I felt that I was very pleased,- says the spouse. “It’s even nicer when he, after scoring a goal, blows me a kiss to the podium.” Gifts are not limited to air kisses: the first expensive present of Dmitry Kagarlitsky was the sixth iPhone (when they were not yet on sale in stores), the second was a chinchilla fur coat.
Without toastmaster, but with ransom
The words "husband" and "wife" first sounded from the lips of lovers, when their romance was numbered for weeks. “When we just started dating, we parted for 15 days: he left for a guest episode, and I went south with a friend,- says Ekaterina. - And we thought that we would go crazy without each other, called each other every day. When I returned to Cherepovets, I flew to meet him at the airport. And there Dima said to me "wife", and I said "husband", and on each other's phones they wrote it down. People around did not understand whether we were joking or serious. And we ourselves did not fully understand this. We just didn't want to part for a minute. "
"Jokes" ended in Dubai after the season ended. “Of course, I was waiting for the offer, but it turned out unexpected”,- says Ekaterina. On March 8, the couple decided to celebrate at a restaurant, where they were informed of the festive dress code. Hockey player Kagarlitsky had a million T-shirts and T-shirts in his wardrobe, but not a single shirt. He went to the store for a shirt and was away for two and a half hours. As it turned out later, he chose the ring.
- I did not plan to make an offer at the resort,- says Dmitry. - I went to the mall for a shirt, but I couldn't get past the jewelry store. I decided to buy a ring, but did not know when and how to propose. I didn't plan to do this in the restaurant, it's too commonplace. And when they returned to the room, they just lay around, joked about something, and she said jokingly: "You don't love me." And I asked her to close her eyes and took out a ring: "Marry me." She certainly hadn't expected this.
And then the wedding preparation marathon began. The bride Yekaterina Grinyak bought a snow-white dress with a two-and-a-half-meter train in Moscow. When they danced the wedding dance, the husband got entangled in a veil, and the couple almost fell - it's good that hockey players are trained in stability.
On June 16, Dmitry and Ekaterina got married. The wedding took place in two cities, without a noisy feast and toastmaster. And the young couple spent their wedding night in Moscow (they signed - and on the plane) in the presidential suite overlooking the Bolshoi Theater - friends made such a gift. And in the morning we flew to the Maldives.
The Kagarlitskys admit: both mobile and whimsical, having met, realized that they were complete couch potatoes. When a loved one is nearby, why rush somewhere? Dmitry and Ekaterina bought it even before the wedding and have been arranging it for more than one month. “And it was no less interesting and important for my husband than for me,- notes Ekaterina. - I chose everything down to spoons and towels. And now, while dining, he sometimes says: "My wife, what beautiful forks we have!" There is free time- they are going to an interesting place (this spring they have traveled half of Europe), there is no time - they are sitting at home.
- We feel each other on an intuitive level,- says Ekaterina. - More than once it happened that I came home with a present for him, and he met me on the doorstep with a bouquet of flowers.
