Academy "Spartak" in football named after F.F. Cherenkova

City: Moscow
Website: spartak.com/main/academy
Graduates: Egor Titov, Dmitry Torbinsky, Pavel Pogrebnyak, Alexander Samedov, Artem Dzyuba, Pavel Yakovlev, Sergey Parshivlyuk.

Behind the shoulders of the Spartak Academy is a great story, the beginning of which was laid by Nikolai Starostin in 1936. The football school of the "red-whites" keeps up with the times: it constantly plays against peers from England, Italy, Spain, Germany, and plays at various international tournaments. The youth team of Spartak traditionally takes first place in the championship of the Russian Premier League understudies, and the homegrown footballers successfully progress and play key roles in the main team. Now the Academy "Spartak" is constantly conducting sets of boys born in 1995-2005, and at the original casting there are always honored Spartak veterans. To show yourself you need to have nothing at all: a medical certificate and a weather uniform. In 2009, Spartak opened a new football complex in Sokolniki with three pitches, seven dressing rooms, a gym, a bathhouse and a special hall for theoretical classes.

Academy "Krasnodar"

City: Krasnodar
Website: fckrasnodar.ru/academy
Graduates: -

The approach to work of the Krasnodar businessman Sergei Galitsky is a new word in Russian football. The successful entrepreneur created Krasnodar in 2008, and now this team is a strong middle peasant in the Premier League, but, more importantly, the main direction of the club's activities is the development of young talents. According to experts, the sports complex of the Krasnodar Academy is in no way inferior to its European counterparts. Two covered arenas, eight fields with natural turf, two with synthetic, a stadium for 3,000 seats, a full-fledged secondary school - all conditions have been created for the fastest possible progress. Among the declared features of the Krasnodar development system of football players: the lack of specialization in positions up to 14-15 years old, the absence of monotony in the training process, the completion of the integrated development of technology up to 13 years old, the encouragement of creativity. So far, the Krasnodar Academy has no famous graduates, which has a quite logical explanation - the senior team consists of guys born in 1995.

Zenit Academy

City: St. Petersburg
Website: fc-zenit.ru/academy/academy_main
Graduates: Igor Denisov, Andrey Arshavin, Vyacheslav Malafeev, Alexander Kerzhakov, Vladimir Bystrov, Maxim Kanunnikov

Academy "Zenith" was created on the basis of the famous St. Petersburg children's and youth football school "Smena", which functioned since 1968. The skills of training qualified personnel bear fruit to this day, resulting in the cultivation of a number of players of the main Russian national team, without whom it is difficult to imagine the team's bronze success at Euro 2008. Zenit Academy has a wide network of branches, in which open trainings are constantly held, where everyone can show themselves. The selection service constantly monitors the work of schools and invites the players they like to the main academy. You can also draw the attention of the St. Petersburg talent smithy by using a questionnaire indicating your data and upcoming matches in which you will take part. The academy has three types of training sessions: technical-tactical, theoretical and psychological, physical training. Academy teams of all ages use a 4-3-3 tactical formation with minor discrepancies.

LEU CSO "Lokomotiv"

City: Moscow
Website: school.fclm.ru
Graduates: Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Alexander Kokorin, Taras Burlak, Alexey Sapogov, Andrey Pazin, Inal Getigezhev, Anton Kochenkov, Alexey Miranchuk

Now the Loko Academy organizes screenings for players born in 2001-2007. For older children, in order to get on the screening, you need to send a special questionnaire by mail, which will be analyzed by the selection service and, possibly, will invite the player to watch. Nonresident players can count on accommodation and meals in the boarding school and school. Lokomotiv Academy has graduated a lot of qualified personnel who are in leading roles in Russian Premier League clubs and, naturally, in Loko itself. A striking example is Alexey Miranchuk. The 17-year-old midfielder, who did not have time to finish school, managed to integrate into the tactical formations of Slaven Bilic and in the spring became almost a key figure in the Croatian specialist's schemes.

Academy "Dynamo" Moscow Yashina

City: Moscow
Website: academydinamo.ru
Graduates: Dmitry Kombarov, Kirill Kombarov, Fedor Smolov, Anton Shunin,

Since 2011, the Dynamo Academy has been named after the great goalkeeper Lev Yashin, who has become a real role model for the younger generations of football players. Of the last famous graduates of the school, it is worth highlighting Dmitry and Kirill Kombarovs, who were rejected by the Spartak Academy, but found themselves in the camp of the "blue and white". The Red-Whites realized their mistake late and parted with a substantial amount of money in order to return the twins to the team. Dynamo Academy provides a unique opportunity for high school students to train alongside the main and youth team at the training base in Novogorsk. For nonresident there is a boarding school with all the necessary conditions for professional development. Classes are held all year round in the Dynamo arena.

It's no secret that football, as the most popular sport, attracts a considerable number of teenagers. Ever since the days of yard games, boys (and sometimes girls) have begun to dream of a football career. However, it is worth remembering that not everyone is destined to become real professionals, not to mention the legends of world football. In the article, we will tell you how to take the first steps towards your cherished dream, and also discuss some of the nuances of the profession.

Where do they teach?

To begin with, it should be said that the profession of a football player cannot be mastered at any university, institute or college. The beginning of a sports career can be provided by schools at football clubs, youth sports schools with football sections, as well as private commercial schools. As practice shows, the most effective is the first option - attending classes in schools at football clubs.

In Moscow, this opportunity is provided by:

  • Sports school "Torpedo" (trainings are held at the stadium "Luzhniki")
  • Academy "Spartak" named after Fyodor Cherenkov and others.

At what age should you start?

Many experts consider 6-8 years old to be a suitable age for becoming a future defender, striker or goalkeeper. Since that time, young footballers with special achievements are allowed to compete and can play for the children's division of the club. But if you have missed the cherished age a little, you should not despair. You can enroll in a football school at any age. At the same time, however, it should be borne in mind that the older the child, the more difficult entrance tests await him. Plus, the process of adapting to a new regime at an older age is more difficult.

What to take?

The very same entrance tests (if any) are most often aimed at identifying such qualities as agility, endurance, reaction speed, mobility and others. In addition, tests are often included in the program, akin to school standards. The general state of health of the child is also important, which is assessed by the commission before the start of classes. Based on the results of selective tests, the coach chooses a position on the field that is more suitable for the future athlete.

How much does it cost?

In most cases, training in football schools at clubs is free, but it is better to clarify this issue in advance. Do not forget that only the classes themselves are free. But in equipment, for example, special boots and other must-have football players will have to spend a certain amount.

What are the prospects?

The salary of football players is perhaps the most discussed aspect of the profession. It is directly related to the league in which they play, their performance, as well as their position in the sports ratings.

The salary of footballers in the FPN depends on the financial condition of the club. On average, players of this level can count on 300-600 thousand rubles per month. The lowest salaries in professional football in Russia are received in the PFL - in the third most important tournament or in the second division. The average salary is 100-120 thousand rubles per month. However, the poorest and most promising clubs are ready to pay their players no more than 70 thousand rubles a month.

Anya Sotnikova

Thousands of youngsters have gone through Nike scouting programs looking for amateur footballers around the world. Many, like an ex-Spartak player Majid Waris, with their help we got to big football clubs. 19-year-old became the first Russian to sign a professional contract after studying at the Nike Academy Maxim Boychuk who had never attended a football school before. In an interview with "Championship" immediately after signing a contract with Nalchik "Spartak" from the FNL, Maxim talks about his path: from the box in Balabanovo to getting into a professional team.

“To compete with Ronaldo? No problem!"

Maxim Boychuk, Russian resident of the Nike Academy in England, shared his impressions of life in one of the best football schools.

"In KLF, the salary was 10-15 thousand rubles, but it was not paid either"

I just played football on the street, I did not study in any sections, - explains Boychuk. - Already at the age of 11, he began to play for his hometown of Balabanovo, and three years later he moved to Obninsk, where he joined Kvant from KFK. At first, he was not very serious about football.

- But did you pay money to KLF?
- I should have, but in the end I have never seen my salary in a year and a half. Although in "Quant" there was a salary of 10 to 15 thousand rubles, there were no bonuses.

- How did your parents feel about your hobby for football?
- My father, a reserve officer, did not perceive football at all before. He wanted me to follow in his footsteps, to the Syzran Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots. My older brother finishes it too. If not for football, I would also be there.

- Then you participated in several Nike Most Wanted tournaments.
- A friend told me about her. I didn't get to the first tournament, “Battle of the Two Capitals” because of my age, I was only 15. The next year I took part in two at once - “Box Rebels” and “Ice Kings”.

- How did you get to Moscow from Balabanovo?
- We got on the very first train at 5:30, two hours later we were in Moscow. They returned home closer to two in the morning. And so for three days in a row.

- Not in vain?
- At the first tournament we got into the top 40: we didn’t leave the site for almost an hour, we caught the courage. But in the final part of "Box Rebels" did not win a single match.

"Fields based on the England national team are space, there is no such thing in KLF"

- But after the second tournament you were invited to the football academy in England.
- It came as a surprise to me. Four teams got to the final part of "Ice Kings", and we became the fifth. We left home upset - after all, the two best players who will go to England should have been chosen from the finalists. But a week later I got a call from Nike and said that I was going to the academy. I began preparations immediately.

- How?
- I myself was engaged in physical form: horizontal bar, parallel bars. I ran through the hills of the local Balabanovsky forest, called Stradalovka. I went to my "Quant" for training. I went to Moscow to get a visa, and two months later we flew to the academy.

- Remember the main impression?
- Luxurious conditions: hotels, food, swimming pools, gym ... Everything is at the highest level. The fields are excellent, I have not seen anything like this in KLF. Once we only played with “Quant” against CSKA in Vatutinki, in two matches I scored three goals for “CSKA”.

- How long did the selection in England last?
- Three days of hard training. Now the selection rules have changed a lot: two years ago we had a lot of strength exercises, now the guys work more with the ball. The hellish exercise on that selection is the yo-yo. The chips are located at a distance of 20 meters from each other, next to each there is a speaker. When he beeps, you need to run to the chip and back, and so on until you run out of strength. Then I managed to do 17 approaches, now my best result is 32.

"Mom barely managed to take the money from the institute"

- What happened then?
- We played with the academy team, I even scored a goal. But at the meeting at the end of the third day, the list of players remaining in England was announced, and I did not hear my name. I left upset, tried to apply to the naval school in St. Petersburg, but pulled my back and did not pass physical education. As a result, I decided to enter the Institute of Education and Science in Obninsk so as not to get into the army. There I was already entered into the database, we paid the money, and then, a month after the selection, a call was made ...

- From the academy?
- Yes, my mother barely had time to take the money! Of course, I had a premonition that this could happen, but I had no idea that it was me who was in the reserve and really liked the coaches! And there were almost no such cases.

- Who was your first game for the academy with?
- A few days after that call we played with PSG's double in France. Now half of that squad regularly comes out to play for the base, the same central defender Presnel Kimpebe, who made his Champions League debut against Barcelona yesterday. I came on as a substitute and played 15 minutes.

- Do these games often take place?
- Nike Academy plays once a week: played against Liverpool, Galatasaray, Leicester, Norwich, Corinthians, Club Brugge. In general, I would not say that the level of football players from the academies of the top clubs is higher than that of the players of the Nike Academy team. It's just that the guys play there for two or three years together and understand each other perfectly, but our line-up was updated every six months. During the season, 11 guys signed professional contracts: someone was taken by Leicester, someone went home to Sydney or Prague.

- Are the training sessions as hard as in the selection?
- John Goodman, our head coach, is a very understanding and open person. It is very important that he himself was a striker, so he worked with me a lot. The academy has four training days out of seven: we worked on physics, game components, and tactics. We lived near Birmingham, and trained at the base of the England national team.

- Did the language barrier get in the way?
- At first I did not understand almost anyone, I could only roughly catch what the coaches explain, so it was hard. But I quickly got used to it, largely thanks to the phrasebooks that my parents gave me on the road.

How to get to the English football academy in Moscow

22 young amateur footballers from all over Russia were selected and showed themselves to the RFPL clubs. Now residents of Moscow will have this opportunity.

“At first it was hard in Nalchik - I'm not used to running so many crosses”

In October, you returned to Russia as the captain of the Nike Academy to play against Team K11. Was it a one-off incident or did you "captain" before that?
- It was incredibly pleasant: my parents finally met my coaches from the academy, watched my game live. Otkritie Arena is the coolest stadium I've ever played in! By the way, I was already the captain in two matches in England.

- Did the K11 players ask you not to score before the match at Otkritie?
- Even as asked, everyone! But the game is the game.

- So you decided to shoot a penalty?
- There was a player in our team who had wanted to take the penalty spot for a long time, but even he took the ball and gave it to me. Struck by "panenka"? Somehow it happened ...

- After the match with K11, did you have any offers from professional clubs?
- I was invited by several clubs from the FNL, and I chose Spartak Nalchik, which now has minor problems with the forwards - the main striker was injured, the second continues to recover. As it turned out, the coaches of my new team watched the footage of the game with K11 and some of my other matches, for example with Leicester.

- Is there a difference with the academy in training?
- The players are older here, so it's a little unusual. The first days were very difficult: I was not used to running so many crosses. In England, too, it was hard, but not so often. However, over time I got used to it.

- Have you already managed to prove yourself in the new team?
- Back in Russia, I played 90 minutes against Alania on a snow-covered field - a rarity for Nalchik. And yesterday he played 15 minutes against Zenit-2 in the FNL Cup. Now I am looking forward to my debut in official matches, I hope I will be able to play in the opening round after the winter break against Dynamo.

Relatively recently, football in Russia has been actively developed. Our Russian championship reached a new level, the teams began to invite world-famous stars, and they learned about our clubs in Europe. But buying up stars is not the development of football. The development of football is the education of its own young players in the academies of the club.

The leaders of FC Krasnodar understood this best of all and created, perhaps, the best football school in the country. In general, the club from Krasnodar has chosen the right development strategy. The management has built a gorgeous stadium for the team, they know about the FC Krasnodar academy throughout the country, and many boys would like to get there. In the main team, Krasnodar, the stars bought for big money do not play, and the team already often plays in European competitions. This is a sure, albeit slow, path to success.

FC Krasnodar Academy

Everyone is accepted here and they do it absolutely free. If the child passes the selection, then he is also equipped with all the necessary modern equipment for playing football free of charge. Children of different age groups are engaged in the academy. In the future, any of the pupils of the FC Krasnodar Academy can sign a contract with the main professional team and become a world-class football star. There is something to strive for!

Branches of the FC Krasnodar Academy

All branches are located in the Krasnodar Territory. There are twenty-eight of them. The academies employ children from five to eleven years old. The Academy has two special arenas with an area of 1200 square meters, which houses a football field with the most modern surface (artificial turf). In addition, the arenas have changing rooms for players, showers, coaching rooms and even stands for spectators.

It is worth noting that arenas have not yet been built for all branches - they are only at the main sports school of the team. Where there are none, trainings are held under the open sky, but also on decent fields (at the disposal of the academy's branches there are thirteen fields with natural turf and five more with artificial turf) and with all the conveniences for both players and coaches, as well as spectators on workouts. And for the youngest pupils a special "playground" is provided.

FC Krasnodar Academy address: st. Zhloby, d. 114. Information about its branches can be found on the official website of the football club.

Staff

All people who are involved in the academy and its branches have sufficient qualifications for their position. The head coach of the FC Krasnodar Academy is Alexander Maryanovich. It is he who searches for nuggets and talents among young football players. I must say that the atmosphere in any of the branches of the academy is calm and very friendly. All conditions have been created for the development of children's football qualities.

Infrastructure

The main building is divided into two parts: educational and sports. The educational part is the most ordinary full-fledged secondary school. It has everything the most modern and necessary for teaching children. All equipment meets the requirements of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. This school trains children from the sixth to the eleventh grade. The FC Krasnodar Academy is a boarding school; it has a special assembly hall, the necessary office space, as well as hotel rooms (for parents who come to visit their child).

The sports part of the academy is a medical rehabilitation center, a modern swimming pool, various saunas, a professional gym and sports hall, as well as a trampoline room. The canteen of the FC Krasnodar Academy is a separate building (a four-storey building with an area of almost 2500 square meters). Here about three hundred people can eat at the same time. The students of the academy themselves live in ten of the most modern cottages, each of which is designed for comfortable living in it for thirty-four people.

Academy enrollment

How to get to the FC Krasnodar Academy? You need to contact the club's representative office by filling out a special application on the club's official website. If the data in the application is of interest to representatives of the academy, then you will be contacted. The application contains the personal data of the child, as well as the data of the parents and information on sports skills: general physical fitness and experience in playing football. In any case, a medical examination of the child applying for admission to the academy will be required, as well as appropriate sports tests for passing the standards and viewing skills. Everything is organized honestly, without any "blat" or "bribes". Only the best of the best get here (in terms of sports skills, talents and development prospects).

Special thanks to the club's management for the honesty and transparency of the system.

Admission criteria

You can try your hand at getting into the academy from the age of thirteen. Of course, the competition for a place in the academy is very high. There is information that children from Belarus are already studying at the academy. From this we can conclude that the main thing is striving, and then everything is possible. More often, those who have played in the club system since childhood are enrolled in the club's academy, but there are always exceptions. Real talent is immediately recognized here!

Notable pupils

If we talk about the pupils who got into the main team, then Ilya Zhigulev immediately comes to mind. This is the first graduate of the academy who received a professional contract with the club. Zhigulev made his debut at the Russian Cup in a match with FC Ural: he came on as a substitute instead of Roman Shishkin, and a little later appeared in the Russian championship when he replaced the injured Yuri Gazinsky. It is worth noting that the young footballer showed himself very well in official matches for the club.

Another example is Ivan Ignatiev (pupil and player of the club). He is generally considered one of the 50 most promising players in Europe - according to UEFA experts. The main task of a football player is to focus on the game and prevent "star fever", which very often ruins young football talents.

Oleg Samsonov, another footballer from the Krasnodar academy, is a promising guy, but his paths with the club diverged because of a scandal in which no one could be found guilty and right. Every year the list of talents will grow, there are a lot of gifted young people in the structure of FC Krasnodar. This is a real “forge” of future professional footballers.

Academy teams

Currently, there are 6 age teams - from 13 to 18 years old. After a player reaches the age of 18, he is either offered a contract with a professional team of FC Krasnodar, or is released from the club. In this case, it will be possible to find another club for yourself: with professional training after the academy, it is quite possible to do this.

Summing up

The FC Krasnodar Academy is a role model for other football teams in the country. They all need to look up to the team from the southern region. And not to engage in injecting hundreds of millions in foreign currency into the purchase of world stars, who then play for the club without sports zeal and receive multimillion-dollar salaries. And what is important, they leave, after a couple of years, back to Europe, for money that is much lower than what was spent on them.

FC Krasnodar is a reference point for young people, a development perspective and just an incentive to a healthy lifestyle for young children. This is what our football has always lacked. I would like to hope that the club's management will continue to work for the benefit of our football!
