It is not necessary to add bleach to clean the pool. There is a better idea! How to properly care for your pool during the summer

A friend invited me to take part in cleaning the central city pool "Dolphin".
It turns out that at the bottom of any indoor pool, especially in its deepest part, various debris from visitors gradually accumulates. Hair, skin particles and I don't even know what else.
Small particles do not settle to the bottom and therefore a special coagulant is added to the water, which binds them and lowers them to the bottom. In about two weeks, the bottom of an ordinary city pool is covered with a gray coating. It needs to be cleaned, otherwise, over time, a decent layer of silt will accumulate at the bottom, and no one wants to swim in such a pool. So you can live up to carp, crayfish and frogs!
The pool is not drained before cleaning and is cleaned with diving equipment. I have never dived, so it was not difficult for my friend to tempt me with the opportunity to go scuba diving for free.

The pool is cleaned every two weeks early in the morning, 2 hours before the arrival of the first visitors. Because during the night all the dirt settles to the bottom.
The technology of this business is simple. There is a special mop with a weight on the end, to which the pump hose is connected. When you run the mop along the bottom, all the dirt is sucked in by the pump and pumped out.
2.

First you need to sink the hose. It must be completely filled with water, otherwise it will not be able to cope with it.
3.

Then a hose is connected to the mop and the pump is turned on. You can start working.
4.

The pool is cleaned by 2 people in turn. And only the deepest part. At a depth of 4 meters, the water is rarely disturbed, and all the dirt settles there.
5.

First, a small area of the bottom near the side is cleaned. Underwater, the difference between a clean space and a dirty one is clearly visible. Therefore, two times in one place do not crawl with a mop. It's all like a combine harvester harvesting a wheat field.
6.

To confidently stand on his feet under water, the diver hangs a decent weight on his belt. There should not be any zero buoyancy, otherwise it would be impossible to move the mop. Ascending with such a load is possible only by working with your legs with all your might. The first time I underestimated it and barely floated to the surface. In the end, I began to inhale air very strongly, but it was still not enough. I even wanted to spit out the mouthpiece. The moment was unpleasant. No wonder the main rule of a diver is not to panic! In fact, it was easy to throw off the load or press the emergency ascent valve (it launches compressed air from the cylinder into the life jacket), but I did not think about it then.
7.

Not everyone can withstand the pressure of even 4 meters of water. I also had such concerns. But nothing, I correctly "blew" at a depth and the eardrums fell into place. I cleaned my pool floor without any problems.
8.

Pool visitors, especially women, sometimes lose gold jewelry in the pool. And the pool cleaners find them. The pool with a large flow of customers is a real Klondike! Recently there was a story: the director of the pool asked one of the visitors to find a gold earring. During the cleaning, the earring was found. The woman came for her. And then it turned out that this earring was not hers!
9.

And this is me on the diving tower.

How to properly care for your pool during the summer?

It is very easy to care for the pool. You need to do a water test about once a week and add chemicals as needed. To remove fallen leaves from the filter basket, it can "vacuum" 2 times a summer. In general, all these troubles are not at all burdensome; rather, on the contrary, they give some pleasure. Sometimes it is both useful and pleasant to do something on your site.

So, the pool is open, started up after winter, working. Let's say you just bought a house with a swimming pool and don't know anything about it at all.

In the picture on the left - there is practically no chlorine, you need to add it. In the picture on the right, everything is almost normal. It looks like the acidity needs to be slightly lowered. Slightly reduce the chlorine supply. But let's wait a day or two. Then we will check again

You will need a water test. The tests are sold in all specialized pool shops and in almost all major household shops. It is believed that every year you need to buy a new test kit. This year I bought a new set, compared it with the old one, which is already several years old, I did not notice any difference in the readings. In general, we buy a new one so that there is no doubt. It costs 6-7 dollars. There are tests with litmus papers and an electronic display. It costs 70 dollars. We are quite satisfied with the usual one for 6 dollars with beakers and bottles.

Let's see what kind of water the dough is. If there is a lot of chlorine, then close the chlorine distributor, provided that it is installed in the filter system. If the chlorine in your pool is distributed from a free floating buoy, then catch the buoy and remove it for a few days. Without make-up, excess chlorine in the pool will quickly evaporate. After 2-3 days, we check the pool for chlorine, everything should become the norm or approach it.

Whatever you do in the pool, whatever chemicals you add - the volume of water in it is huge, it is a heavy inertial mass, so you need to wait a day or two for the results.

If there is little chlorine, open the distributor on the filter to half or even full. If no distributor is available, chlorine can be added directly to the pool. In this case, be extremely careful - chlorine is a poisonous and dangerous substance, and, in addition, you can spoil the walls of the pool film. It never hurts to ask for additional advice at a nearby pool store.

If the acidity is higher or lower than normal, then add Ph- or Ph +, respectively. How much to add - read on package instructions. It is important what size the pool is. The principle is the same - the results will be in a day or two.

You never need to panic. It's okay if the pool gurgles for a day or two, three or four with inadequate water. Nothing will happen to her. You will gradually add or subtract everything, over time you will feel your pool, you will know exactly what it needs. All comes with experience.

Many pool shops do free water tests and advise you on what to add. Be careful! I know those who, after these tests, each time bought the recommended chemicals for tens of dollars, suffered for weeks, kept going to them and could not achieve the ideal state of the water.

Let the pump run all the time, the water is filtered. Watch out for chlorine and acidity. Remove leaves from the white filter basket. When the water is balanced (acidity is normal, chlorine too), the pool works for weeks and nothing needs to be added to it for weeks. It's even boring.

Some time after the start of the season, you will see sand, some kind of dirt and dust at the bottom of the pool. If there is a construction site nearby, you will see it soon.

So it's time to vacuum the pool.

The picture shows dirt and sand, which can be removed with a vacuum cleaner.

When you know how, it's very easy.

You will need: a net and a stick from it, a rigid corrugated hose for a vacuum cleaner, a nozzle with a brush, a white plastic circle that is worn on the other end of the hose, a soft flat blue hose, when rolled up - like a fire hose (unfolded in the two pictures below) ... This hose is attached to a free outlet on the filter. Dirty water will run along it. Typically, these hoses are led out onto the driveway in front of the house. In the summer, when you drive around your area, you will sometimes see water pouring onto the road from such a hose. Someone is cleaning the pool.

The hose diverts water to the roadway. There is a hole in the hose, it should be patched up

In the picture with pool cleaning accessories, you can see that the corrugated hose is reinforced with red tape. Our accessories for the pool are not new, I don’t know how old they are, at least 5 years. Everything works great. Don't be tempted to buy everything new. Surely you bought a house with a pool and left everything for you. There is not enough money for anything new.

With a net we remove everything that floats on it from the surface. These are usually leaves.

If there is not enough water - its level should be approximately in the middle of a white rectangular window, behind which there is a filter basket, then we add water, which can be seen in the upper picture (a garden hose is lowered into the water).

Open the box containing the filter basket, clean the basket and put it back.

We remove the net, attach the vacuum cleaner brush to the long stick and connect the hose to the brush. On the other end of the hose we put on a white plastic circle.

Important now! - There is air in the hose. If it gets into the pump, it will stop pumping water, the pressure will drop. You need to remove air from the hose.

We lower the brush to the bottom, hold the stick, the other end of the hose, on which we firmly press the white plastic circle to the hole from which water is pouring into the pool. It runs under decent pressure, with good pressure from the pump.

Look, air comes out of the hose in large bubbles, the hose is filled with water.

When the air stops coming out of the hose, we take the end that was pressed against the water outlet and very quickly, trying not to lift the hose high, put a white circle on the filter basket. The motor is on, the water is pumping. As soon as you put the circle on the filter, water begins to flow into the pump not through a rectangular window, but from a hose, at the end of which you hold a brush at the bottom of the pool.

If everything works out, then the white circle will be so strongly pressed against the filter by the pressure created by the pump that you can separate it only by turning off the engine.

If it does not press well, you need to repeat everything from the beginning, but remove the filter basket. At the same time, do not forget that without this filter, leaves and debris from the bottom of the pool will fall and stay on the same filter, but already in the pump itself. Don't forget to clean it later. It is better not to remove the upper filter basket, of course. The filter in your pump also needs to be checked and cleaned from time to time. Every little thing gets into it during the daily operation of the pool.

Now you can vacuum. We drive slowly with a brush along the bottom of the pool, collecting dust, dirt, sand.

When you see that everything is clean, do not remove the hose, let everything remain as it is.

Turn off the engine!

We press on the handle of the filter barrel and transfer it from filtration to Backwash - i.e. flushing.

We turn on the motor. The blue hose begins to inflate, and the water runs from the pool onto the road.

What kind of dirt goes, you can clearly see the bubble on the filter barrel. The picture shows an easy case. I've seen dirtier ones. We drain the water, and by this we clean the filter. Filter handle in Backwash position. We wait until the water in the bubble becomes transparent. After a few minutes, it becomes transparent, and several grains of sand have appeared.

While the filter is being rinsed, a little sand is inevitably carried out of the barrel with water. At some point, you may need to add a little sand. And the Backwash mode itself should not be very long. Has gone pure water through the cone - turn it off.

Turn off the engine!

Put the handle on the Rinse. We turn on the motor literally for a minute or two. This short procedure is required to rinse the hoses and filter after exiting Backwash mode.

It's good to do everything together. Sometimes the white circle falls off the top filter basket when the engine is off. It would be nice to hold it so that no air gets into the hose.

Turn off the engine!

Separate the end with the white circle from the filter and carefully pull out the entire hose from the pool.

Press the white circle against the filter again. The engine is off, there is air in the hose. We open the cover of the pump-motor. A little water will pour out, no big deal. Water access is blocked by a hose pulled from the pool. It only needs to be pressed tightly against the filter basket so that water from the pool does not flow into the turned off pump.

We take out the filter from the pump, clean it. This is also a plastic basket, into which any small rubbish was crammed. We put the basket in place.

Now is a bit of an embarrassing moment. We remove the hose that blocks the access of water to the upper filter basket, the water rushed down, poured on you from the pump. This must be done to remove air from the hose and pump. The pump only works with water. If air enters the system, the pump may not work at all. If, nevertheless, a little air got in, but the system is sealed, then the pump with the trapped air will cope and push it out. We take the pump cover, put it on with a little effort through the stream of water, turn it, the water stops, the pump is closed.

It takes a little bit of skill, and the rubber gasket should be lubricated with a special silicone grease available from pool shops. If the gum is greased, then it is easy to open and close, besides, the lid is better and tighter. If the cover is not pressed tightly, the pump will suck in air, which is very bad for the pump. The pressure will be weak, the filtration will be insufficient, the motor will be overloaded.

The engine is off, the pump cover is closed, the hose is removed, the filter is in place. We move the handle on the barrel to the filter position. We turn on the motor. We check that the upper filter basket has not turned over from the flow of water, we fix it, put on the lid on top.

You also need to monitor the pressure gauge. If the pressure drops or the arrow jumps, there may be air in the system. You need to look for the cause of the hit. These are either hoses at the joints, or gaskets. If the pressure rises and the discharge of water into the pool becomes weak, the pressure is not what you are used to, then the filter is dirty. It's time to clean it up. If the pool does not need to be vacuumed, then it is enough just to connect the water drainage hose and repeat the procedure described above. The dirt will go away, the pressure will return to normal - 10-15 psi.

The pressure gauges here are of poor quality. Water quickly gets into them, there is condensate inside, a new one is needed again. They cost $ 6-7.

Having cleaned the pool once or twice, you will become a real ace, you will always be able to help your friends and you will smile when you hear how difficult it is to take care of the pool. At first, yes, it sometimes comes to panic. I hope my advice will help you get over it quickly.

Pool lovers know how difficult it is to maintain them. To have such beauty near a private house or in the country is not only pleasure and bonuses, but also significant troubles.

To clean the pool with bleach is one punishment: it is dangerous, environmentally friendly, unpleasant, and the water then retains a specific smell for a long time. The revolutionary was recently invented pool cleaning technique... It was suggested by nature itself: there are plants that easily purify even heavily polluted water and maintain a healthy microflora in it. Chlorination will soon be a thing of the past, I can feel it!

How to clean the pool

Scientists have long gone to the invention of the method water purification without chlorination... Active oxygen and bromine products are a good option, but they are expensive. Inorganic chlorine is another assistant in cleaning the pool, but its effect is noticeably weaker than ordinary chlorine, the effect of clear water does not last so long.

Chlorine causes allergies, irritation of mucous membranes, and is especially harmful for children. The availability of this cleansing method does not overcome its obvious disadvantages.

The UK recently built an eco-pool in the heart of London. This is an innovation among public pools: there is no water filtration system in its design, absolutely no chemicals are used to purify it. Only aquatic flora and plants - they act as cleaners and purifiers. Eco-Pools are becoming more and more popular, because splashing in chlorinated water is not very pleasant.

People who value their health and love nature will certainly take advantage of the new scientific discovery. If you have a pool, why not transform it into an ideal purification system, where everything will happen by itself thanks to natural processes?

See how a real eco-pool works! I just want to swim ...

The development of science gives hope that harmful chemicals will soon stop destroying our health. Nature suggests the best ways to meet human needs, and that's great! Show this awesome video to your friends, especially those who dare
