Over 400 athletes who took to the ice in the Gazprom Neft Cup fights in previous years are performing today professional leagues Russia, Europe and North America... This is an impressive indicator that once again proves the need for such a tournament, organized on the model of adult competitions, a tournament in which the best pupils of most of the Kontinental Hockey League clubs, as well as well-known foreign teams, take part. From April 21 to April 24, a hockey tournament for athletes under 11 years old will be held in Sochi. The opening ceremony will take place on April 22 on the ice of the Bolshoi Sports Palace.
International tournament The Gazprom Neft Cup is one of the largest children's hockey competitions in Europe. Children take part in the competition KHL teams in the age category up to 11 years. The tournament is held according to the divisional model in two groups - West and East.
The main trophy of the competition was made by the same craftsmen as the Gagarin Cup. Every year after the end of the tournament, the name of the winning team is put on the Gazprom Neft Cup and the prize is handed over to its new owner for a year. Before the start of the next Tournament, the reigning champion is awarded a copy of the trophy.
On April 22, a large-scale entertainment program for fans of all ages will be organized in the Bolshoi lobby. Hockey fans will see a performance by a popular Russian group, a multimedia show using three-dimensional projections and modern special effects, contests, a prize draw and much more.
In the main duel of the evening on April 22, they will play reigning champion Of the Gazprom Neft Cup Yaroslavl Lokomotiv and two-time winner of the tournament CSKA Moscow. The final of the group and the awarding of the winners will take place on April 24.
