Who is entrusted with hosting the 2017 World Ice Hockey Championship? By the decision of the International Ice Hockey Federation, the 81st championship was held in two countries. The right to host the World Ice Hockey Championship went to Germany and France. The cities in which the championship will be held are the "metropolis on the Rhine" Cologne and the heart of France - Paris. The championship will start on May 5. The final match will be played on May 21st.

Hockey matches in Cologne will be hosted by the largest indoor hockey court in Europe - "Laness Arena". 18 and a half thousand fans can watch the games in the walls of the arena at once.
Lanxess Arena Paris sports officials have prepared their famous arena for the World Cup - the Bercy Sports Palace (the current name is Accor Hotels Arena), which can accommodate 14,500 spectators. Various sporting events of a world scale have been held within its walls more than once, but it will host the world hockey forum for the first time. By the way, France held the last hockey world championship back in 1968.
Tournament table, schedule
According to the plans of the organizers of the tournament, hockey players will play 34 matches in Cologne. On the ice of the Lankess Arena, it is planned to hold matches of the preliminary stage of the teams of Group A, two quarterfinals and two semifinals, a duel for bronze and the climax of the championship - a match for gold medals.
At the Bercy Ice Arena in Paris, spectators will see 30 matches. There will be meetings of the group stage in Group B, as well as 2 quarterfinal matches.

The ½ final matches are held between the national teams that have won the games of the ¼ final, where the teams of the group winners played and the national teams that won the games of the ¼ final, where the teams that won the second place in the group played.
