I am very glad that they heard me! Today many letters begin like this: "We have read your Column, which says that editorial mail is noticeably reduced in volume during the gardening season. We are in a hurry to help ..."

You know, this is great - "we hurry to the rescue." This inspires, gives confidence that the readers need us, are relevant, in demand. In principle, everything is correct: we work for you, we help you as much as we can, in many cases, when it is necessary, we rush to help. With your wonderful letters, you are helping us to survive in the endless and stormy sea of ​​competition among similar publications, the number of which is coming and going.

And goodness would be something new, original, independently invented. But no: all the same dozens of times rewritten folk recipes, wandering from publication to publication, only with different signatures of the authors and, as a rule, without an address. "Boring, girls." - as the once famous literary hero used to say.

By the way, a funny story. I was talking here recently with our distributor in Germany, Klaus Kopelman, about a letter received from a German reader.

The following is a list of all possible misfortunes that will fall on the heads of those who did not want to fulfill the order ... Yes, yes, I firmly know that this is nonsense, and yet it is unpleasant ... I do not understand why the Orthodox Church does not fight this heinous phenomenon and the state stands aside. People are intimidated, interfere with life, impose a different faith. I think these are all crimes against people. For this reason, I appeal to the readers: there is no need not only to answer these letters, but also to read them, and I am not even talking about rewriting and spreading the bullshit. Do not be afraid of any promised heavenly punishment. Throw away the dirty writing in the trash and live in peace.

My father died in the first months of the war. I was born without him. Mom raised us alone - four sons. That only I did not endure together with my mother and brothers! I will not write, my generation knows.

It is a pity that the youth do not delve into this - they do not want to know anything about our past. But I raised my three daughters in this direction as best I could.

Bend your right leg and bring it over the extended left leg, placing it on the outside of the left knee. With your right hand, touch the toes of your bent right leg. Extend your left hand and press it to the body - it serves as a support. Turn the body together with the head as much as possible to the left. Do not hold your breath while performing the pose. Do it slowly, three times in each direction. The pose protects against stiffness of the spine, normalizes sprains of the vertebrae - a consequence of improper posture, maintains the flexibility of the lower back, has a beneficial effect on the liver, pancreas, spleen, intestines and kidneys. The muscles in the lower back become elastic. Bow (Fig. 5) Lie on your stomach. Stretch your legs. Pull your knees up as much as possible, grab your ankles with your hands. Raise your head. The upper back should form an arc before bending at the knees. Take a deep breath. The whole body should rest on the navel area. Hold the air, stay in such a position as you can. You can make several rocking back and forth, as in a cradle. Returning to the starting position, release your ankles and exhale. The pose has a beneficial effect on the spinal column and all the nerve centers around it. It is useful for people with a sedentary lifestyle, stimulates the activity of the endocrine glands. It is especially beneficial for the thyroid, pancreas, kidneys and adrenal glands. The pose maintains normal sexual activity for a long time in both men and women. A posture with increased activity of the thyroid gland or some other endocrine gland is contraindicated. To maintain correct posture, it is useful to lean your heels, buttocks, back, shoulders against the wall, then walk, trying to maintain your posture. Or - if you have Scandinavian composure - do not turn it off, but continue to calmly solve the crossword puzzle. You don't have to describe the consequences - your imagination will tell you. You wonder - what a wild fantasy? But this, to put it mildly, careless dispatcher - you are. Don't believe me? Our body is such a complex and perfect mechanism that a nuclear power plant, in comparison with it, is an elementary sewing machine: after all, a person designed and built it a long time ago, but, thank God, he hasn’t bothered to create a body on his own from a single cell. And this sophisticated mechanism constantly talks to us, every second gives us various, and vital, signals - "Don't eat so much sweets!", "You can't stand this person!" - and others, much more complex. And how do we react to these signals? In the best case, we go to the doctor - let him treat us with pills and injections; at worst, we “pull ourselves together” and try to continue living as if nothing is happening. At the same time, we do not make a single attempt to communicate with our own body - and, by the way, under no circumstances is it capable of acting to our detriment. How are we different from the notorious dispatcher? Perhaps only the scale of the disaster. And even then only at first glance - we ourselves are the only ones. What does our dispatcher urgently need to do while he is still alive? Right. Study the readings of the devices and remember what they mean. After all, once our ancestors knew how. “My head hurts about it”, “gnashing my teeth with rage”, “lumpy tears in my throat stood up”, “swallow the offense”, “carry on my shoulders”, “breathe deeply”, “goosebumps ran down my spine”, “ not sparing their belly "," knees tremble from fear "," stand firmly on their own feet "... Let's try to see this in the most familiar, everyday manifestations of our body. Imagine a three-year-old toddler who has fallen and whose mother is completely convinced that well-bred children should not scream loudly. Having struck, the little man, as expected, cries, and his mother, like an angry fury, hisses: "Shut up now!" The kid is hurt, offended, and most importantly - scared: his mother does not love him now! The child, of course, is not yet able to build the simplest inference: "When I freely express my feelings, my mother does not love me, so I need to restrain these feelings." However, if such a scene repeats itself - and, unfortunately, it usually repeats itself - the child learns this lesson at least at the level of a simple conditioned reflex. And after some time, he will try to restrain his legitimate roar of pain. And his tiny body, in order to help its owner, will begin to strain, pinch his neck, so as not to let out seditious tears. In adulthood, the former three-year-old toddler will surely experience serious difficulties in expressing the simplest and most natural feelings - declaring his love, shouting, crying ... Mom, maybe, is no longer alive, but her lessons, alas, are working. A person swallows tears, words, screams, resentment, anger chokes him - and all this, by the way, is in full accordance with folklore. And all due to the fact that at the right moment in his throat there is a tension that has already become familiar and imperceptible, which does not allow all of the above to break out. So much for the law of conservation of energy. Earnestly? However, it may be differently. Do you happen to know a dentist? If there is, ask - did he come across patients with teeth worn out to the very root? It is unlikely that he will say that there are such - every second, but a few people will remember for sure. And personally, by the way, did you not have to feel tired in your jaws after some difficult conversation, when you were forced to be silent, restraining your anger? Now imagine that for someone to grit their teeth and endure is a habitual way of behaving, the only possible way to react to any negative emotions. Feelings rush out, and he once, for some reason, decided for himself that he would never let them go. That is, it was his head that decided - it understands so well what is good and what is bad! And a poor, trouble-free body helps her - by the way, to its own detriment. After all, only the head, trying to make decisions on its own, is capable of harming us - without its help the body usually fails (remember how painfully Martin Eden tries to deceive his body and still drown himself at the end of the book). It would seem how simple - the person read these lines, realized everything and wanted to try it in a different way: “Everything, from tomorrow I say what I think, cry and scream when I want, and I pour out my aggression on others with full buckets”. No matter how it is ... At the decisive moment, either the voice will fail, or it will not be possible to unclench the teeth, or the words will get stuck in the throat. Do you know why? SCARY After all, it is fear - whether we are aware of it or not - that stands behind the inability to express our feelings - the fear of being rejected, misunderstood, lonely, funny, not like everyone else ... Remember, by the way, - “knees tremble from fear”? Moreover, the psychological meaning of this expression is closely related to what is hidden in the saying "stand firmly on your own two feet." The meaning of legs is obvious from elementary mechanics: legs are what we can rely on in life (whatever it is - our loved ones, profession, ourselves ...). What happens to us when there is no support? That's right - we are scared. We are losing our peace of mind. But a person is something whole, and everything that happens in our soul inevitably gets its mirror image in the body. Without knowing it, we begin to strain our legs, trying to find additional support under them, to physically compensate for the lack of confidence, protection, and security. Hence - at best, trembling in the knees, and at worst - constant joint pain, as doctors say, of "unclear etiology", chronic fatigue in the legs and other troubles. And this is where one extremely entertaining question arises. Let's say a person has learned his problems in these situations - what should he do with this information? The answer is simple: here the main assistant is your own body. How to turn to him for help, how to be able to hear the answer, how, finally, to use this help - this is a topic for conversation with a psychologist. And not with every psychologist. It turns out that there is such a fascinating area of ​​psychological knowledge - body-oriented psychotherapy. And do not be afraid of the word "psychotherapy", it most often refers not to mental illness, but to the most common - ours - problems. You probably found something painfully familiar in the said sayings? And body-oriented psychotherapy - unusually, by the way, pleasant - can open you access to those endless resources that are hidden in one of the most perfect creations of nature - our body, so dear and - it would seem - familiar. Interesting? Still would! Do you want to try it yourself first? Just keep in mind - without the deepest and most sincere attention and absolute and respectful trust in your body, you shouldn't even try. It won't work. So, have you made up your mind? Interest and love for your own body - whatever it may be - is there? Then let's get started. PRACTICE: Set aside two hours for our experiment - preferably at the beginning of the day. It is important that your thoughts during these two hours are occupied only by your body. Other problems will wait. If they don't want to wait, postpone the experiment until better times. You are at home alone, comfortably dressed - or completely undressed; the main thing is that nothing rubbed anywhere, did not sting or distract. You don't need music in this situation at all. Even turn off your phone. First, and perhaps most difficult, find the position that is most comfortable for you. Not the most familiar, but the most convenient at this very moment. Try not to come up with a pose, but rather search for it with your body. Look for it slowly, tastefully, letting your body experience each option. When you feel that every part of the body is in complete comfort and does not want anything else, you have found what you are looking for. Now stay in this position for a while. Take a kind of excursion - what is tense in your body now, what is relaxed; where it is warm, where it is cool, and where it is completely hot; what parts of the body is in contact with other objects - clothing, floor, chair, wall, carpet, etc.; which of these touches are stronger, which are weaker. Your consciousness is now just a dispassionate recording device, and there is nothing in your body that is bad, not good, neither right nor wrong. It is what it is. Try to treat him that way for the first time in your life. How do you like this? Do you think this was an exercise? Nothing like this. So far, you just greeted your body, paid tribute to it. Do you want it to help you get to the emotions that you have struggled to bury in it so far? Then we, as we remember, must begin with fear. That is, off your feet. Very slowly, while continuing to observe everything that is happening in the body, stand up. The legs are almost shoulder-width apart, the feet are parallel, the knees are relaxed and very slightly bent. Sway a little - just as slowly, just to feel how finely and precisely the muscles in your legs help you maintain balance. You have something to rely on, don't you? Now imagine how high you are above the surface of the earth. Maybe ten stories separate you from it, or maybe just a basement - it doesn't matter. Feel how the floor, on which you are leaning with your feet, holds all your weight and does not allow you to fall there, down ... Did you feel how your body instantly became heavier at this very thought? Wiggle a little more - how are your supports behaving? Like? That's it.
